Using ‘Crisis’ To Drive Agenda

Anti Fed Ed Warriors, I do believe our current Congress has reached an all-time low with the pair of federal derived education bills, S 1421 and HR 3828.

Both are titled the Patsy T. Mink Gender Equity in Education Act. Both claim the purpose of the legislation is to protect citizens from sexual inequality. But, what if, hidden in plain sight of these 2 bills is an agenda for aligned education? The savior for protecting us? STEM (as in Science, Technology, Engineering, and, Math)!!

Personal note: I am in no way advocating sexual inequality nor do I promote sexual harassment. However, if we are to have important legislation protecting our citizens could we POSSIBLY leave the UN’s (and CCSS Machine’s) STEM out of it?!

The Lady:

Warriors, if you are not sure who Patsy T. Mink was, she was a very important leader from HI. She is basically the mother of Title 9. When Title 9 was much younger, it was created so that women and girls would have equal access to sports.
It’s only been in recent years that Title 9 has been reworded to NOW cover anyone who feels sexually left out of education.

Mrs. Mink was also key in President Johnson’s Great Society legislative campaign. She served twice on the U.S. House’s Education and Workforce Committee, helped begin Head Start and, so much more. (*Note: it was President Johnson who ‘gave’ us the original ESEA (Elementary and Secondary Education Act) now ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act)

Sadly, though, Warriors, Head Start has been CCSS aligned for a while. The Education and Workforce Committee is a ‘lock, stock, and, barrel’ member of the CCSS Machine.

As far as the ‘Great Society’, we see those ties are being used for much of the social justice movement, also a key part of the CCSS Machine AND UN’s SDGs (United Nations Sustainable Development Goals) agenda. STEM, is a direct product to help drive education to these social justice ends.

The Language:

Warriors, the entire purpose of these twin Bills is this:
“To support educational entities in fully implementing title IX and reducing
and preventing sex discrimination in all areas of education.”
Sadly, it takes 24 pages to explain what the ‘support’ means.


On Page 2 of the Senate’s Bill version, you’ll see the National Women’s Law Center is mentioned. NWLC has helped former President Obama’s data mining pay scale initiative to get off the ground. They’ve also helped wage a major educational disparities campaign (again with the work and support of the White House).

The NWLC also has successfully forced in-depth and precisely detailed ‘student data rape’ to continue. Why? The more details the more we can level the playing field.

If the NWLC would look at the massive data mining in this way (as many of those of us in the War Vs the Core) they may realize just how serious accessing private student information is.

Did you know the NWLC also was key in getting Early Head Start and Head Start funds in ESSA? Also, those community development block grants which will fund the 21st Century Community Learning Centers, Promise Neighborhoods, and, more?

These were all also mandated in ESSA.

The last NWLC item we Warriors need to know is that they are funded by some of the biggest CCSS Machine members. The truth can be seen beginning on Page 18 of their last Annual Report.

On Page 3 of S 1421, another group is mentioned: The American Association of University Women. According to AAUW’s last Annual Report,  they regularly fund STEM programs at local levels! From their website, you can find CCSS Machine corporate partners.

Warriors, how many times do we have to find out that our Congress is listening to the big bucks, not the everyday citizens?! 

While S 1421 and HR 3828 are exact copies, what can we see embedded from the House’s copy?
Page 3 “STEM Pipeline” used to describe the workforce aligned shift. (Scroll back up to what this really means)
Page 4, NSF (National Science Foundation), again more CCSS Machine/UN endorsed agenda skewing the truth.
Page 4, The Gay Lesbian Straight Education Network’s Report information is used as justification. The GLSEN is also heavily back by key CCSS Machine member groups (for example: Wells Fargo, the Walt Disney Company, Target, and, many others)

Corporations tied to CCSS do NOT represent the people’s voice. 

More Fed Ed Power:

Warriors, the Equity Act being considered in DC hasn’t seen much action that We the People have been made aware of, but, before we assume this type of action will go away, we need to consider that any of the DC bills I’ve been studying could be rolled out anytime now..or, in the future. We’ve seen it happen way too many times in the past.

We also need to consider that embedded in BOTH bills is room for more federal funding to dictate what happens at State and local levels in education; that the Dept of Education will expand to ensure ‘equity’ is achieved. This will show up in anti-bullying, ‘safe schools’, and other ‘wrap around’ services. Every single one of these were mandated in ESSA using Title 1 funds. However, other Title funds would now be COMBINED to align learning to, not an equity-like level, but to a ‘one-way-to-learn-so-you-can-earn system’.

Warriors, these tactics are directly taken from the UN-inspired SDG Toolkit created in the US back in the early 2000s. I’ve shared this Toolkit many times.

We need to understand that S 1241 and HR 3828 use ‘equity’. Both use ‘equality’. We’ve seen how the two are NOT the same, do not mean the same, and, should not be interchangeably used! Yet, bill after bill from the federal level continues to use double speak.

Warriors Against Common Core: how many times have I shared with you that the CCSS Machine seeks to encompass EVERY student..including adults? Young adults, just graduating high school and moving on in life; mid-life adults and/or older adults desiring to go back to work and needing education…you get the idea.

No matter how many times it has been we MUST talk about it more often! Yes, most anti CCSS Warriors are looking out for those who aren’t adults yet..I totally agree. However, with all the evidence out there to shine the light on the adult versions of CCSS, why aren’t more adults standing up and saying ‘NO’!?!? Warriors, we MUST look out for the grinding down of ANY student when it comes to the CCSS Machine!! We MUST protect every citizen from, not only the educational demise of America, but the workforce caste system embedded in CCSS/CTE!

So, What’s New in the Adult CCSS Education Realm?

From the news release pictured above, “For many people seeking to improve their career prospects, a high school diploma is the first stop on the pathway to prosperity. But an increasing number of adults and adolescents without a high school diploma are struggling to obtain one, according to the latest high school equivalency test data, which shows that fewer and fewer adults taking these assessments pass them. For these individuals, math is proving to be the biggest roadblock of all, with the math portion of most high school equivalency assessments having the lowest pass rate of all subjects.” Now, you may ask why I added emphasis on the ‘pathway to prosperity’. You’ll probably also want to check out the TERC (Technical Education Research Center) and its part in this ‘new math’ for adults. A link to their website in at the bottom of the above news release. Briefly, TERC is a non-profit group. It’s devoted to not only post-secondary education and curriculum development, it’s into STEM as well (Science, Technology, Engineering, and, Math). Among the funding organizations are AIR (American Institutes of Research, The Gates Foundation, the Ford Foundation, the U.S. Dept. of Education, and a host of other groups, schools, and consortia. FTF: More “Know Thy Title 9”, CCSS, and Education

Yesterday, anti CCSS Warriors, I gave you lots of information about CCSS being woven in our educational system via Title 9. I know I’m not alone in this task, for others have also reported on Title 9. Today, however, I want to take you to those in charge of enforcing Title 9. Are we really sure it’s only the U.S. Dept. of Education? Are there other groups out there in charge? If so, what groups? What do they do to enforce Title 9? How has it been aligned to the CCSS? And finally, is all this part of the CCSS Machine? Let’s see if we can discover the answers to these questions.

*NOTE: I must stop here and declare that I am NOT against Title 9 or any of the other Titles, or other special parameters designed to keep our students safe. What I AM against is the purposed abuse of these Titles to enforce more Common Core or any of its related agenda.

ATIXA or the ‘Association of Title 9 Administrators’:

NCHERM or the ‘National Center for Higher Education Risk Management’:

Well, here’s a very short answer from their website, “The NCHERM Group specializes in advancing culture change strategies and problem-solving for the tough wellness, compliance and liability issues colleges and universities face today.” However, here’s a little bit more about their powerful outreach, “We have provided services to more than 3,000 colleges and schools. Here’s another clue that may involve educational alignment: Notice in the above screen shot the phrase “CAS Standards”. That stands for  the Council of the Advancement of Standards in Higher Education. Now while I didn’t see the phrase “Common Core State Standards” or “Career and Technical Education” in the CAS Standards, I did see some distinct similarities in the pdf I’m sharing here. Council Higher Ed Standards

However, I want to steer you back to NCHERM. When you look at their website’s home page you may notice a tab labeled “Explore TNG”. Scroll over that and you should see a small collection of NCHERM’s related groups. Here’s a very brief look at most of them:

There’s SCOPE (which co-hosts Title 9 conferences with ATIXA), SCOPE’s website,

There’s SAACA (Student Affairs Community Colleges), https://www.sacca.org/  Here’s a sentence from their website, sure to grab your anti CCSS/CTE attention, “Community College in this country is now poised to become a right, with two years of free access.”

Other NCHERM services include Conflict Resolution; Student Affairs News (which offers books worth purchasing for summer reading. One such is a book about 21st Century skills in the workplace.); and more behavior resolution team information.
The U.S. Dept. of Ed’s Title 9 Resource Guide:

Yes, officially, the U.S. Dept. of Ed is in charge of Title 9. However, have you noticed the amount of help it’s getting? There’s more help, though. For example, the US DoE’s Resource Guide includes the following information, Because Title IX prohibits discrimination in all aspects of a recipient’s education programs and activities, the Title IX coordinator should work closely with many different members of the school community, such as administrators, counselors, athletic directors, non-professional counselors or advocates, and legal counsel. Although these employees may not be formally designated as Title IX coordinators, the Title IX coordinator may need to work with them because their job responsibilities relate to the recipient’s obligations under Title IX. The recipient should ensure that all employees whose work relates to Title IX communicate with one another and that these employees have the support they need to ensure consistent practices and enforcement of the recipient’s policies and compliance with Title IX. The coordinator should also be available to meet with the school community, including other employees, students, and parents or guardians, as needed to discuss any issues related to Title IX.”  To access all the other policies, dcl-title-ix-coordinators-guide-201504


The U.S. Dept. of Ed’s Civil Rights Office:

This arm of the DofE is a huge participant in anything to do with Title 9. The website: http://www2.ed.gov/about/offices/list/ocr/index.html
Not only does this arm look out for student’s civil rights, they ensure that equity in education is a kingpin of their agenda in the CCSS mix. (Oh, did I mention this office also collects student data?). Here’s an excerpt from the Office’s 2013-14 Annual Report, “For nearly five decades, the U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights (OCR) has stood as a guardian of civil rights in educational institutions nationwide. We have taken seriously our charge to remove barriers to students’ full participation in every facet of educational life.” Followed later by, “OCR emphasized the importance of data by releasing a new, expanded Civil Rights Data Collection that made equity indicators in nearly every public school and district in America transparent.”

Are there other organizations like ATIXA and NCHERM helping the U.S. Dept. of Education enforce Title 9? I’m sure of it. More than likely, not only is there more outside enforcement from a federal level, but a state level as well. Remember that with the upcoming re-authorizations of BOTH the HR5 and the HEA (HR5 impacts K-12 education; HEA impacts higher education), you can be sure that MORE Title 9 and all the other Titles set aside to encompass students, teachers, and schools will be present. Which in essence, gives us MORE CCSS/CTE.

Monday Musings: Know Thy Title 9, CCSS Warriors

Greetings fellow anti CCSS Warriors! What can we expect from the CCSS Machine now that the precedent has been set to allow those who are not to govern us, in fact, do so? How do we handle this latest assault on our U.S. Constitution? How does all this impact Common Core and our battle against it in education? I believe all these questions have at least one thing in relation to each other…

How Title 9 Already Impacts Education:

Because of the original intent of Title 9,Every school district and college in the United States is required to have a Title IX Coordinator who oversees implementation, training and compliance with Title IX. ATIXA brings campus and district Title IX Coordinators and administrators into professional collaboration to explore best practices, share resources and advance the worthy goal of gender equity in education.” (Source: ATIXA, or Association of Title 9 Administrators;  https://atixa.org/)

Wait, that’s not all! From the U.S. Dept. of Education, here’s what else Title 9 already impacts: Title IX applies to institutions that receive federal financial assistance from ED, including state and local educational agencies. These agencies include approximately 16,500 local school districts, 7,000 postsecondary institutions, as well as charter schools, for-profit schools, libraries, and museums. Also included are vocational rehabilitation agencies and education agencies of 50 states, the District of Columbia, and territories and possessions of the United States.” (Source: http://www2.ed.gov/about/offices/list/ocr/docs/tix_dis.html)

So why I am I bringing this up now? Two reasons. The first: in case someone fighting Common Core didn’t know the above. The second: by knowing the above we can be watchful for the areas in which the most recent decision made by the Supreme Court will surface.

These combine all sorts of CCSS, gender-no-gender, anything is okay attitudes for students beginning Kindergarten and up). Oh, For the Hype of It All:

So, what’s next for us in this educational battle? Plenty! We can expect more federal overreach. Maybe the next time it will be more sex education related, maybe not. We’ve seen the U.S. Dept. of Ed overreach its federal jurisdiction, now we know the Supreme Court is ‘playing this tune’ as well.

Congress? Well, we’ve seen (as researched and evidenced) where legislation is being bent to support federal overreach. An example of this is my last Friday’s “Fib-o-Meter” article. As important as the topic I addressed in it is, I purposed to NOT share it as much on Friday. Why? Because I knew with all the headlines the article would get lost.  So, here’s the link. The topic? “The D.C. Hype” for passing re-authorized versions of the Higher Education Act (which will contain Title 9 ramifications) and the HR5 (Every Child Achieves, or the latest version of ESEA from 1965, which also will have Title 9 implications). What Does an Anti CCSS Warrior Do Now?

Know that not just Title 9 impacts education. There titles built into educational parameters for almost every combination of guidelines you can imagine.
Know that when a bill or law or even suggested piece of legislation or related matter is state or federal hands it doesn’t belong, we need to not only know about it, but share the news and react proactively.
Know that bills on a state or federal level don’t necessarily have to do with educational needs to impact education. For example, not too long ago a federal level bill was put into action where the title pointed to just one issue, but in fact, had aligned educational intent embedded.

Don’t be surprised when moves like the one made last week is used to pit us against each other. That’s, in my researched opinion, a definite unintended bonus of the CCSS Machine. If they cannot conquer us, they’ll use certain issues tied to education OR education itself to cause us to fight amongst ourselves. We must beat them at their own intent! We must stand firm.

Lastly, realize that it is not only the outcome of any authority’s decision that sets the mold by which all future activities will be based; more importantly is HOW the decision is made. Did it follow proper, legal channels? Did it consider the citizens? When appropriate, were citizens involved? When appropriate, did the correct authority address the decision.

Why is all this important? It’s my belief that not only is anything LESS than what I’ve just described criminal, it sends a dangerous message of fallacy to all of us. If we play to win, we must win properly and justly. Not by any means possible. To win unjustly or by improper means it shows all of us, what you’re fighting for isn’t  all that important. It also proves out the age old saying. “Anything worth doing, is worth doing well.”
