Draft Plan or Daft Plan?

To my fellow anti Fed Ed and CCSS Warriors, it is increasingly clear our States have sold us out. They did it with RttT (Race to the Top), the CCSSI (Common Core State Standards Initiative), the constant re-branding of CCSS (Common Core State Standards), and everything in between which would connect education to workforce based outcomes.

It was SUPPOSED to stop with ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act), but as we’ve researched and shared, that, too was a sell out.

By now, you’ve probably seen and heard about the States which already turned in their ESSA State Plans to the U.S. Dept. of Education, only to have them bounce back faster than a bad check. Have you been able to get a look at any of the State Plans which will be due in September 2017?

The last time I looked at the NC State ESSA Draft Plan was back in Feb. 2017. It’s where I compared the alignment of not only NC’s ESSA Plan, but how strikingly similar it was to SC’s Draft Plan at the time. If you missed the article highlighted above, I urge you to read it. Not only does it impact ALL 50 States, but there is quite a bit that those ESSA braggarts left out we need to know. (For example, did you know that ALL 50 States must meet parts of the General Education Provisions Act as well as all the mandates laid out in ESSA?)

In the most recent version of the NC ESSA State Draft, the document is 184 pages long. Oh, and more color pictures have been added. See below. The added emphasis is mine.

So, are you wondering about the “Theory” behind NC’s Daft (I mean) Draft Plan? Look below. You’ll find this particular section on Page 8 of the Plan, directly beneath the snazzy color picture you see above.

The State of NC, just like the other 49, is using YOUR child as a test subject in an unknown and unproven system with YOUR tax dollars! (*Note: back in 2016, I published an article detailing some of the ESSA experimentation which would be continuing CCSS or creating more alignment.)

The CCSS Machine is so busy pumping out the jargon of ‘personalized learning’ (which is a coded educratic phrase), that we are missing the point: teachers should gauge the learning pace, not students. Teachers should be free to use their proven ideas in the classroom, not leav it up to professionals not designed for classroom interactions.

This is like telling your 6 year old that you’ll let them get behind the wheel of your car and HOPE it all works out.

Do you see the ‘transforming from the industrial age’ statement? Yep, NC’s bent over backwards to make sure it’s one of the most digitalized and conformed States in the nation. At every grade level and for every educational choice. I’ve documentend it well, as have other citizens.

Click to enlarge the screen shot (or find the evidence on Page 9). Four ‘pillars’ which are to be STATE supported, not parent chosen, for your child’s education. Since these pillars are ‘state led’, do not think the federal government hasn’t mandated HOW the leadership is to take place. If so, why are so many State Plans being rejected? It’s because ESSA’s mandates do NOT allow MORE State-led control!

As far as ‘state supported’? No, try state controlled by way of the federal government, instead.

As far as NC’s Daft (oops, I meant ‘draft’) definition of ’empowered educators’, a very loose idea. Why? It’s to fit ESSA’s mandates to allow those who partner with education to be considered an ‘educator’. Remember, the increase of the business world in education ESSA has mandated? This loose definition of ‘educator’ fits perfectly.

Other Daft Moves by NC?

1) For ‘early education’ the B3 Interagency Council (partners the NC DPI, NC Dept. of Health/Human Services, and the NC Partnership for Children). Their overreach into the younger students’ lives? Data driven pathways.

2) For ‘early education’ continuing the CCSS aligned “NC Reads” program. It’s supposed to have kids ready to read by the time they get to the classroom. I think NC’s daftness is really showing here. For our Kindergartner students, class is where they SHOULD learn to read, not come already prepared.

3) For all students, a new interagency for the “NC Whole Child”. The premise? A ‘whole child’ in a ‘whole school’ to learn to be part of a ‘whole community’.  Note that you’ll see both the CDC (Centers for Disease Control) and ASCD as creators. Both are part of the CCSS Machine.

4) For the Teachers, ‘digital competency standards’ as derived by iNACOL, a huge CCSS Machine member organization. iNACOL is part of the global push for aligned education in America. These ‘standards’ are also a continued effort for NC that have been backed by our NC General Assembly.

5) For all students, ‘global-readiness’. While NC’s been globalizing students before now, under the Draft ESSA State NC Plan, more infrastructure changes will take place to continue this alignment. What does this mean? More internet digital access, Smart Cities, global standards, and so much more. Here’s a recently published article. With all the infrastructure changes, you’ll need to look for Innovation Districts/schools, Lab Schools and similar. You’ll also find infrastructure changes in Head Start, Early Head Start, 21st Century Community Learning Centers, and more.

Of The “Proven” CCSS Aligned Programs NC will keep:

1) You’ll see Home Base (a massive SLDS system put in place by Pearson Publishing, but now run by the NC DPI). See the Financial Evidence .
2) Smart Start/NC PreK  (a 2016 look at how ESSA was to hurt the littlest learners)
3) Career and College Promise (ties to a National CBP, Competency Based Pathway System)
4) NC Virtual Public School (a 2015 exposure)
5) Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) The 2016 article I published revealed not only much about PBIS, but how ESSA and Pearson capitalize on this system to alter attitudes in our children. You’ll also see an SC school district’s example. You’ll also see how those 21st Century Community Learning Centers are woven in.

Summary: Due in part from the United States federal government’s agreement with the United Nations to uphold and adhere to the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals); Congress’s legislation to create WIOA {Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act} and the STEM Act {Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math}; re-write and re-authorize both the ESEA {Elementary and Secondary Education Act} and the HEA {Higher Education Act}. ESEA is now the ESSA {Every Student Succeeds Act}, HEA remains the same..for now. Also responsible for this shift in your workplace are the P3s {Public Private Partnerships}. These P3s will be either globally active or locally active; some will be both.

Changes You May See Now, or, Will See Soon:

1) An increase in computer training to earn digital badges or credentialed certificates thereby creating a decrease in hard copy books or instructional manuals. This is usually promoted as a way to ‘go green and save paper’. In reality, it’s a way to create a ‘life-long learning’ track of employability for you. In most instances, these courses are used for giving a teacher/leader a ‘promotion’. Ususally, these are mere lateral steps, not actual promotions. As such, you may see (or not see) your income increased. These tracks are usually professionally developed by various CCSS (Common Core State Standards) supportive groups or organizations. Because CTE IS Common Core (by a different name), your training is aligned to meet THOSE standards. Most of the time, in addition to your company’s policy for training and leadership. Teachers/Leaders, remember the Business Roundtable, several unions, and almost every major corporation have backed this shift in education from academics to workforce for years. CTE has given them the opportunity to do it in the name of ‘jobs’. Our federal government uses it as a tool to sell human diginity in exchange for a better economy.

2) A shift you will NOT see, but is happening to you is a direct result of #1. That is data mining. Yes, your computer based training is captured, studied, and shared by countless educational groups and any other group they work with or are contracted to work with. This data, is also shared on the federal government level, as well as globally. Why? Your ‘competency’ is measured to be used against you later on. If you do not ‘teach’ well, your students do not ‘learn’ well. These 2 factors are weighed against the entire school. If a post-secondary school doesn’t measure up to the accrediting body’s standards (also directly overseen by the U.S. Dept. of Education and those post-secondary accrediation organizations it works with), funding is cut. Which means, pay cuts or lay-offs become a bigger reality.

3) CTE teacher/leader ‘incentives’  are part of the ESSA mandates for workforce-based education. On Page 17 of the Law, it is plainly stated that ALL education must be post-secondary readiness aligned as per the WIOA definition of ‘readiness’. That definition?! “Career and College Ready” (which is another name for Common Core and Career Tech Education). However, instructors, the strings by which you may earn these ‘incentives’ is hardly worth the price. Expect more monitoring of your student’s contributions in class; group based projects/group collective grades; their behaviors and attitudes (College and Career Ready calls it SEL, social emotional learning); expect that you will have to jump through more hoops than ever to be qualified to teach, but NOT how you wish to lead, but by a contrived system. As part of the re-writing of the HEA, expect more of this kind of micro-management of your schools. Consider, if your school loses accrediation for lack of credentialed leaders or enough graduates, you may be out of a job.
(Remember, as a post-secondary educational institution, public, private, or for-profit, your largest funding stream is CTE money based on students from ages 5-17, regardless of what school they attend.)

4) How does a student become Career and College ReadyCareer Tracks!  Assessments! These do not only show up in traditional K-12th grade schools. They are present in early college programs, trade schools apprenticeships, dual enrollment, concurrent enrollment, AP courses and IB courses. All of which are accessed by ALL education choices, including home education. Any extra curricular STEM program is also part of the Career Tracking and Assessments.

Some of the companies here love CTE and Career Pathways. They also are unabashedly supportive of CC aligned citizens.

Teachers/leaders, do not be surprised if you see an increase in the number of tests your students must take. Look out especially for the assessment called “WorkKeys”. If a student hasn’t received it in a K-12th grade institution, it may be an added requirement at your school, given upon admissions. “WorkKeys” is most definitely a Common Core/CTE alignment tool to groom students for their career tracks. These tests do not take into consideration talents or desires of students. Whatever skill -based results the WorkKeys gives, is what your student’s education will be streamlined to. Look for buzzwords like “personalized learning” or ‘personalized instruction’. These are ‘code’ for data mining, career tracking algorithms for both teacher and student.

Questions for Reflection:
Is this why I wanted to teach? Is this how I wish to continue to teach? Will the cost of college, career schools continue to increase? If so, how much of MY tax dollars will be used? Will these dollars be used as I choose? Since I receive a portion of these tax dollars as my salary, am I okay with this shift in education?
If I stay in my teaching position, how can I fight this overreach in my school?  Is my stance helping promote this kind of governmental control to succeed, or, is there a way I can strike an effective blow?

Illusions of Higher Aspirations

Anti Fed Ed Warriors, we’ve known for quite a while that the CCSS Machine was going to go after the HEA (Higher Education Act). Among the EOGs and EOCs back in April and May of 2017, Congress* didn’t ‘disappoint’. While graduations were celebrated and aspirations for each of our students was plotted out, the CCSS Machine’s agenda ground down the existing HEA (orginally introduced in 1965; it’s last re-athorization was 2008).
(*Currently, S806 and HR 1880 have been introduced as amendments to the HEA, but read more like replacements.)

We also have known from this blog and similar ones that the HEA is the LAST link in the chain of education laws which must be re-written to complete the top/down; global to US transformation in converting ‘education’ to glorified work training.

IF we look at the supportive side of education reform (which embraces the global worker shift), it’s no surprise that their illusions are being shared and spewed out everywhere.
For example the NEA (National Education Association) has said the rewriting of the HEA is needed. It’ll be great to have more affordable college, recognition of professors as ‘stakeholders’, and, improve teaching PD (professional development). Warriors, as we know, all these buzz phrases are code for two CCSS Machine agenda goals:

*Is the American way of paying for higher education in need of help? Absolutely! However, as I’ve stated before (based on mountains of evidence and research) funneling EVERYTHING through the CCSS Machine’s education reform is the WRONG way to correct our system!!!

S 806’s Bill/Language:

Warriors, what DOES this bill the NEA is foaming at the mouth about, REALLY say?

1) Was introduced 4/03/17 and is in the hands of the Senate HELP Committee (under Sen. Alexander’s thumb). (*Note: Warriors, remember when ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act) was signed into law, Alexander promised us with vigor that the HEA was next. His 1980s ‘prophecy’ of alignment babies to a life long track is playing out.)
2) The Bill is 51 pages long. You can access it here.
3) There is one main sponsor and 5 co-sponsors: Sanders, Warren, Harris, Blumenthal, Murphy, and Gillabrand.
4) Short title: “College for All Act of 2017”

Student and State information:
5) Title 9 will be amended for use as a federal/state partnership in funding to eliminate tutition. Grants will be used as the illusion for greatness.
6) Will impact those students in the ESSA age range (preK to 12th grade) in early college programs, dual enrollment, or concurrent enrollment. (*Note: this is a back door access to the educational choices outside the traditional education system.) The illusion of attainment is used here.
7) Since this is addressing a post-secondary education law, all ages will be impacted and aligned. The illusion of equity and equality is used here.
8) Grants awarded will be at the Secretary of Education’s choosing to enable the States.
The illusion of State led eduation is used here.
9) There’s a 33% ‘non federal funds’ clause on Page 6. It’s a requirement, not an option.
The illusion of ‘stakeholder’ control is used here.
10) The Secretary of Education is given power to challenge the States in their projected enrollment formulas (bottom of Page 15 into 16). On Page 17, it shows the GDP for the State being challenged as coming into this formula’s equasion. The illusion of State led education is being used again.
Other notes: parents tax records, independent students and their tax records, data tracking, targeting the working class and the low-income class, Sec. of Ed deemed requirements by each State annually in applying for grants, and more.

Teacher and PD Information:
11) Of the grants and non federal funding received, any money left AFTER applying to the students will be applied for teachers and their training (includes on-going PD).
An illusion of ‘stakeholder’ importance is used here.
12) An increase in staff (full-time, tenured or tenure-track), especially ‘instructional faculty’. The illusion of true teaching is used here.
13) Provisions for anything a faculty member could need (includes the office). PD supports…and shared goverance. With so many of the PD opportunities available to schools now being aligned to the CCSS Machine’s agenda, this one has the illusion of objective leadership.
14) Part-time, outside the classroom work will be compensated. Again, Warriors, who is footing the bill for all this?? We are!! An illusion of economics is used here.
15) Increases in dual enrollment, concurrent enrollment, early college, and any other ‘student success’ program as deemed appropriate by the Sec. of Education and the Peer Review Group, not your State or local leaders. The illusion of leadership, power, and school choice factor in here.
16) TRIO and GEAR UP Programs (a federal education effort) will be increased. I’ve covered how aligned to the CCSS Machine’s workforce/education plan these programs are. The illusion of State-led leadership, yet again.
17) Increases in Work Study programs will most certainly be found in S806. There will also be a recalculation in the funding of Work Study Programs.  Expect billions of taxpayer funds and private money to pay for these. The illusion of living within our means as a nation is played up here.

You’ll also find what the fed/State funding and non federal funding cannot be used for (such as building a new stadium or paying the school administrators). I hope you are ready for the price tag of all this ‘free’ higher education, Warriors. Look below:

At LEAST $41 Billion in funds. Notice the language leaves the final business quarter for 2017 and the entire years from 2019 – 2027 wide open to whatever is necessary!! If you read the next paragraph after the above screen shot, you’ll notice that the language includes federal obligated funds from Oct. 2016 to Sept. 2017. Just in time for the 2017’s 4th quarter to begin. It would appear an illusion of purposed and pre-planned alignment is being used.
***The price tag for the increases for TRIO and GEAR Up reach into the trillions for each year between 2018 and 2027 (Page 41)
***Work Study Funding by each fiscal year is on Pages 41/42. Warriors, note that it is at the Sec. of Education’s decision, not the States’. The power doesn’t stop there. Any regulation surrounding the calculations of the reformulation of these Work Study Programs is also given.

The ‘career readiness’ and how it will be tied to Pell Grants can be seen on Page 43. It will be part of the increases in Job Development Programs and their locations. This directly ties to the U.S. Dept. of Labor. Again, Warriors, the union of these 2 federal agencies overreaching into education is visible.

*Note: If you have student debt, or know someone who is about to apply for funding college, you’ll need to read the fine print from Pages 44 to 51. While it appears undergrads will have a lower interest rate, it also appears grad students will see an increase. Since I am not a financial expert by any stretch, please research this language carefully.

Closing:

Warriors, as you can see, our Senate has totally betrayed us. Being a free nation should mean we honor our Constitution first and foremost. We know the CCSS Machine has shredded its importance. If not, we would not see the trillions of dollars ear marked to further the illegal overreach into education. What will the HR 1880 (a ‘sister’ bill) hold for us? We’ll find out tomorrow.

In the meantime, contact your Senators and tell them, NO to ‘free’ college! If we don’t go broke paying for it, our future generations will. “Free” college is a collective, good for the Socialists movement, not an independent freedom of choice based on the ideals of our Republic.

Knot In My Backyard

Anti Fed Ed Warriors, the G20 Summit has ended for this year.

What missed the mainstream media (as far as I know) is the state of education, according to the G20. What was said? What was plotted? Will all this tie to ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act) or WIOA (Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act)? Will the STEM Act  (Science, Technology, Engineering , and Math) be included?
What about the impact on the re-writing of the HEA (Higher Education Act)? The UN’s SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals), are a uniting bond between all these American ‘education’ laws and connected programs.

What Those G20 Leaders Did:

From what I’ve found, the G20 (stands for ‘Group of 20’) has sub-groups. An overall theme of the G20 and all its sub-groups is an “interconnected world”.
One such sub-group is the B20 (Business 20).

So, what IS G20’s agenda when it comes to education?

Four main points, my fellow Warriors:
a) more females as business leaders/owners
b) more immigrants and refugees in the workforce
c) supply chains which embed the SDGs
d) future workforce

The 2 uniting factors for the G20’s agenda?
a) our youth
b) social issues

In the B20’s White Paper, you’ll find how education is (once again) used as an ‘ends to a means’, NOT as an endeavor of its own.
Plenty of ‘innovation’, technology, and skill based learning are part and parcel of the B20 Plan to support the G20 agenda!

Warriors, if you wish to have further proof of America’s resolve to become global (and not remain a strong nation of our own), consider these facts:
a) America is a ‘card carrying member’ of both the UN and the G20. This means whatever agenda items these groups have, the US has as well. These, items are either already in our backyards, or will be very soon!
b) The G20 has the following sentences ‘buried’ in their 2017 Agenda“The G20 will be resolute in its endeavours to ensure the rapid and comprehensive implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, with its global goals for sustainable development, and of the Addis Ababa Action Agenda.”

What’s The ‘Addis Ababa Action Agenda’?

Basically, its a set of 134 items created in Addis Ababa (Ethiopia) back in 2015 to finance all the needed programs and goals of the Sustainable Developmental Goals by the UN. Actually, there are only 133 items. The last item is the plan for a possible 2019 meeting to see how things are going.

In this particular document (2015 for a ‘post-2015’ world), you’ll find legal frameworks, either already in place, or about to be set in place; you’ll find how public-private partnerships will use private money to support the common, public good; you’ll see how STEM and data mining will go hand in hand, and there’s more.

Several world financial entities are named. For example, the World Bank. (Warriors, we’ve known for a long time how the World Bank backed Common Core. It still supports in the the ESSA Era, too.)

As has been shared in the past, education is #4 on the SDG list of 17 items. Every one of the 17 SDGs is already in America’s backyard.

Warriors, also appearing in our backyards are the school programs and extra-curricular events centered about global citizens or making our world better. Listen to the words this ‘ambassador for education’ utters in this short YouTube video. The video was filmed a few days ago during the G20 Summit. Notice the backdrop, look at the bottom right hand corner to see the SDG colorful wheel appear every so often during the video.

*Note: in the video clip, Sharika refers to an international finance committee. She suggests an investment of trillions of dollars to support global education. Her ties to the UN are thick. Thus, the ties to the CCSS Machine are also there. (Sharika focuses on early childhood education.) We’ve seen as Warriors what’s happened to this age group in education, thanks to the CCSS Machine.

The committee Sharika meant is the International Commission on Financing Global Education Opportunity. You can access their website here. The USA ties to this Committee can be found in the form of two Harvard University personnel members, who are among the ICFGE’s Leadership.
(Warriors, remember Harvard has been named here on my blog several times as being a key CCSS Machine member organization.)

A mandate of the Commission for education? “The Commission’s mandate was to identify the most effective and accountable ways of mobilizing and deploying resources to help ensure that all children and young people have the opportunity to participate, learn and gain the skills they need for adulthood and work in the 21st century.”

The Commission says its main focus is low-income and middle-income countries and their education debacles. Why will you find this information? Click here to get their Learning_Generation_full_report_v2.

So WHY is the US involved? Why would the US, as a first-world country need to shift its education to match everyone else’s?!

Warriors, think about it, if America doesn’t align, the agreements we’ve entered into to concerning adhering to global agenda items, we’ll have violated them.

What We CAN Do:

Warriors, encourage; no, demand that our US leaders cut the ties to the UN completely! Demand we, as a nation, divorce our nation from the agreements which have found our educational system as an intended consequence. Refuse the global pushes in your backyard.  We MUST act to save our students and teachers from the global education/CCSS Machine. Demand your State STOP funding any assessment or educational resource group tied to the UN. Resist the global citizen push in your communities. End the relationships with the Unions in education. The top two, NEA and AFT are tied at the hip to the global education shift.

We are STILL American! We STILL have freedom. We MUST act now to preserve our nation.

Education’s “Cooked Goose”

Warriors, we know education in America can be considered a ‘hot mess’. The state of education in the ESSA Era (Every Student Succeeds Act) could also be referred to as a ‘train wreck’.

For this article, I chose ‘cooked goose’. Why? It’s meaning as a phrase expresses spoiling plans; ruining someone’s opportunities. In other words, succeeding won’t happen.

Warriors, plainly stated, ESSA will NOT give our student success at what THEY want. It is designed to link itself to the WIOA, STEM Act, HEA, and all other related workforce/education laws. (*WIOA: Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act; STEM is short for Science, Technology, Engineering, and, Math; HEA: Higher Education Act)

Before we point the finger exclusively to Washington, D.C.; we must point it back to the CCSS Machine and it’s association to UNESCO.

(aka: Diny Golder-Dardis) is a co-founder of P21 (Partnership for 21st Century Skills) She is also key to JES and Company.
(*Note: the embedded link for Golder is to a 2003 Symposium paper about increasing technology. You’ll see her roles in both capacities mentioned. You’ll also see the U.S. Dept. of Education’s involvement. You’ll also be directed to some external links about the CEO Forum. I was unsuccessful accessing these. However, I did find a 2001 publication by the CEO Forum. It’s cover states it all.)

Back to Sutton and Golder’s involvement:
Together this team produced 3 white papers together. All 3 were based on increasing technology in our classrooms; for teachers and students. They wrote these 3 papers for the ASN (Achievement Standards Network).

If you’ve not heard of the ASN, it was created by Golder and Sutton with grant money (2 grants) awarded them by the NSF (National Science Foundation), under the JES and Company’s name.

NSF is the group which created the acroynm “STEM” for marketing purposes in education. STEM is a tool used by the UNESCO for pushing the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) in education.

Helping expand the ASN was a generous Gates grant award in 2012 to JES and Co.

In 2013, my dear anti CCSS Warrior friend, Donna Garner, published an article tying ASN, Jes and Co. to the CSCOPE (TX’s supposedly not-CCSS educational framework and standards) and the EdGate organization.

ASN is now owned by D2L. D2L was founded in 1999 by John Baker of Canada. Today, D2L has some of the biggest CCSS Machine members as partners. Their ‘job’? Tying more technology and education together.)

Other Sutton and Goldar Work:

In 2008, it was a paper on matching education resources to education standards for all the grade levels between K and 12th grade. This document appears to be for the National Science Digital Library. It’s about how to use metadata.
In 2009, it was all about discovering concepts in education via learning objectives. It is in this document they base their findings and solutions off of the 1997 UNESCO Report. (*Note: the 2010 paper they wrote was for Australia’s curriculum and configuring it to RDFs).

Warriors, why would I use ‘track’? Think about it, the technology increases in American classrooms are designed to track progress; to measure mental abilities. These results are then used to track the courses/classess and eventual careers. ESSA, WIOA, and HEA embed it. STEM increases it! There’s another reason I chose the word ‘track’:

Warriors, ‘technical’ means technology use, which we know is data. We also know, that technology is part of ‘innovation’. Innovation has been used as a tool to update ‘infrastructure’. Education is being used as a tool to pump up jobs and the economy.

Do we see ANYWHERE in these contrived plots: a child’s desire to become what THEY want? Do we see anywhere how teachers can TEACH without conformity?! NO!

        Education’s goose has been royally cooked!

I urge you to read the information from the above screen shot here. It will lay out the indicators by which our students and teachers will be aligned to. It will explain how this data is to be used, and include the GAML (Global Alliance to Monitor Learning). The GAML is doing its own ‘cooking geese’ with assessments and data mining.

Warriors, remember, the SDGs are all to be in place by 2030.

Tying This Back To The American Push for Technology/Data:

Warriors, the way ESSA is written, an huge increase in technology, data mining is in the works. It is because of the foundational shift created in part, by folks like Sutton and Goldar, that we are so far down the path to comply with the U.N.
Sutton and Goldar are hardly alone. We know the CCSS Machine has been infiltrating companies, legislators, and everywhere in between to force us to assimilate into the overall plan to ruin education.

One of the biggest data mining tools which unites education and jobs, here in America are the SLDS and the WQDI (Student Longitudinal Data System and Workforce Quality Data Initiative). These track your student (regardless of their educational choice) from the classroom to their careers…and beyond.

“Here I Stand, I Can Do No Other”

No, Warriors, I haven’t confused two historic figures. Yes, the picture you see is Joan of Arc. The title you read is a hat tip to Martin Luther as he nailed his 95 Points on that church door so long ago. If you have been following me long on my blog, or on social media, you know I have long identified with Joan’s fierceness. As far as Martin’s boldness? Yes, I’m about to go there.

A Certain Recent Release:

The President has recently released his 2018 Federal Budget Blueprint. It’s creating quite a buzz. You also know that in past federal budget releases, I’ve also gone over them.
In-depth and not unwilling to expose the alignment to the CCSS Machine.


The reality that the current President has promised to rid us of Common Core and yet padded the Administration with pro CCSS members, certainly has given us pause.

Trump’s promise for more jobs should also give us pause. Why? With the distinct presence of WIOA (Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act), ESSA (Every Student Succeeds), HEA (Higher Education Act); the federal money in place right NOW funneling through each of these; the CCSS Machine up to its neck in all 3, we need to be pointing to the same priorities:

a) Workforce based education IS here, playing out daily. It plays out not only through Common Core, but Career Tech Education, STEM, Next Gen, and so many other areas.
b) It’s playing out in employment centers, community colleges, our public-private partnerships, job development programs, and so many other places.
c) It comes in the form of SEL (social, emotional learning), CBE (competency based education), PBLs (project based learning), and constant over assessments for skills to meet some business’s idea of what a human should be able to do.

For the President to rid us of ‘Common Core’, he needs to be ready to rid us of ALL the connections. Think how many times we’ve heard and said, ‘follow the money’.

Since D.C. is a favored conduit of the CCSS Machine, we know a lot of evidence is waiting to be exposed. Federal budgets have lots of money…and lots of evidence we can trace.

Every day we hesitate, the more ingrained the CCSS Machine becomes in the new Administration. Warriors, we saw the CCSS Machine take up residence in D.C. during the previous Administration. The Machine is STILL there.

Warriors, do not simply look at the Blueprint’s ‘Dept. of Education’ budget items. Read the WHOLE thing.

I wish I could tell you that the CCSS presence has been eliminated with Mr. Trump’s Blueprint. It hasn’t.

Flummox Awaits Us:

(*Note: ‘flummox’ is an old word for being bewildered or perplexed.)

Flummox #1): So, in Trump’s Blueprint, did ‘Common Core’ get the axe? Not by name. There were some things involving CCSS, but not too many. Warriors, eliminating CCSS in one area (no matter how huge), means it survives elsewhere.

Flummox #2): Did the Dept. of Ed receive cuts? Yes, but are those cuts enough? That, my Warriors, remains to be seen.

Flummox #3): While the President’s Blueprint is not the entire Federal Budget,the word ‘blueprint’ suggests that what the President wants may be changed by Congress.

When will “We the People” get to see the entire 2018 federal budget? What other CCSS Machine ties will be revealed when We see it? Will We have time to influence Congress or will it be too late?

Use the research to help you formulate your dissent to seeing MORE Common Core (and all its related entities) continued in the 2018 Budget!

Use any of the research to help you create a way to help remind the President of his campaign promise to rid us of Common Core. To rid us of the name only, solves nothing.

Lastly, share the Guide, as you see fit. Knowledge about the CCSS Machine is what keeps us powerful. We should be making as much of a protest about the Blueprint as we did about the new Secretary of Education’s confirmation.

No, we should be making MORE noise. We should demand a full repeal of any and all federal activity overreaching into education.

Warriors, it will take MORE than alerting the Oval Office with our priorities. We need to be ‘nailing these points to Congress’s doors. We need to be shouting these pieces of evidence boldly.

Warriors, we must do all of this. To do less, is something we should not permit. To take a ‘wait and see’ attitude could be dangerous to our fellow citizens.
Why? The federal budget impacts every age group, not a select few. With so much of the CCSS Machine still in our education, we must be a modern day Martin Luther of Joan of Arc.

 

The Delusion Games

Anti CCSS Warriors and those Against the CCSS Machine, have you seen the delusions of grandeur being manufactured at almost break neck speed lately?!

Between the stacked deck of pro CCSS folks being tagged for leadership and the main stream media cranking out plenty of false positives about education, it’s enough to make our heads spin.

For example, recently Tom VanderArk’s “Getting Smart” website shared a guest written article about personalized learning in the classroom. Now, if you’ve heard of Mr. VanderArk, you know he is a master deceiver when it comes to a quality education. He’s absolutely, 100% sold out to the CCSS Machine’s reform. Part of the reoccurring message he (and others like him) shares is how fantastic ‘personalized’ learning is.

What these deceivers don’t count on is that we, the Warriors, are onto their delusions. “Personalized” learning in the “Era of ESSA” is code for ‘competency based education designed to NOT teach, but to CONFORM’.

“Personalized” learning is also code for digitally based data mining. “Personalized” learning is also being used to create false positive results when it comes to assessing how much our students are learning. Put another way, the digital based ‘personalization’ constantly grades on a steep curve.

In this context, the CCSS Machine banks on the fact that the general population HEARS ‘personalized’ as ‘custom’. It banks on the fact that when we hear ‘custom’, we PERCEIVE it as ‘exclusive’.

As a society, we are taught that ‘exclusive’ is special, is to be sought after. That somehow ‘exclusive’ means BETTER than everything else.

We are taught that by having something ‘exclusively’ means we have something NO ONE else can have.

Warriors, ‘personalized learning’ via ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act) is a masterful delusion of epic proportions. ESSA also has a tremendous amount of Competency Based teaching/learning. ‘Personalizing’ it mocks true teaching/learning.

EVERY student will have the same type of education, there is NO true “personalization”! Only illusions.

As long as education is funneled through competency based Common Core/Career Tech Education/College and Career Readiness and all that goes with it, the delusions live on.

“Getting Smart” featured  a letter to the President-elect/new administration written by a KnowledgeWorks staff member, Lillian Pace. Warriors, KnowledgeWorks is another 100% sold out to the CCSS Machine member organization. I’ve researched them in the past and have shared with you how deeply their allegiance to the education reform runs. This group is not after our students aligning, it is after our ENTIRE communities being aligned to conformity based education, life, and everything connecting the two. The Deluded Sales Pitch Points:
a) leverage the vast amount of innovation occurring across the country to help States and school districts build an education system that provides all learners with access to a personalized education that enables them to master the knowledge and skills critical to success in college and career
How did KW propose the President-elect and his staff accomplish this?! MORE incentives! As if Race to the Top’s incentives didn’t teach our nation about how badly the carrots-on-a-stick delusion worked.

b) Post-secondary Transition Innovation Funds where the money would be “administered jointly by all Department offices with a stake in K–12 and post-secondary policy

c) Create a Pathway Program for employment.While WIOA (Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act) already ‘gave’ us ‘personalized learning for employment’ (Career Tech Education, Career Pathways, Career Tracks, Career Clusters, American Apprenticeships, etc.), this NEW  Pathway “would have the “federal government and the employer would equally share the cost of tuition; however, the federal government would reimburse the employer if it employs an individual for two years after obtaining a credential.”

d) Increase dual enrollment and early college high schools. Warriors, each of these are already ‘personalized’ to not only WIOA, but  to CCSS, CTE, and will increase via ESSA! We do not need MORE of what has already been passed into law. The same can be said for Points A, B, and C!

Warriors, have you heard of Koret before? Koret, as in Koret of California Sportswear Fashions, or as in Koret Foundation, or as in Koret Task Force for Education housed at Hoover Instititute?

Well, you’re about to.

Koret’s Task Force for Education has been partners with the Hoover Institute for a while now. As we know, Hoover Institute is a well known organization in and of itself. But what do each of these Foundations do separately, and, more importantly, together?!


First Stitch:

Koret Foundation (website: koret.org) Since 1979 this Foundation has done tremendous things to help its local community, and its fatih-based community as well.

With such a rich heritage, it is a shame the Foundation has seen fit to help fund KIPP Schools. KIPP Schools, as you know, Warriors, are public private charter schools across America. They are also a part of the CCSS Machine. I found their KIPP donations in this “Community Report”.

Second Stitch, Joining Hoover Institute:

Koret joined education forces with Hoover back in 1999. The Hoover Institute’s been around since the late 1950s and is tied to the former President of the U.S., Herbert Hoover.

So, basically you have Hoover Inst. as the older entity, joined 20 years later by another Foundation (Koret). You can see one Foundation gives to KIPP, but is Hoover somehow stitched into the fabric of education reform as well?

Inclined to Disagree

It’s a new work week, but the same ole rhetoric from D.C. when it comes to the federal role in education.

Late last week, Rep. Kline of the U.S. House of Representatives’s Education and Workforce Committee, released a statement of his disdain for the U.S. Department of Education’s ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act) overreach  into teacher preparation for today’s K-12 classrooms. Below is a screen shot. The statement came to my email account.

Sorry, Representative Kline, I disagree with your ‘disdain’. Why? It’s as fake as a $3.00 bill! Quite frankly, the posturing needs to be saved for Broadway, not Washington D.C.’s government chambers and levied on the people as gospel.

Why would I call the Chairman of the Committee’s words false? The research proves it.
For starters IF the Representative had READ the ESSA as thoroughly as he should of BEFORE he voted on it, he would KNOW that the teacher preparation and alignment to the CCSS Machine was ALREADY written in BEFORE Dr. King was confirmed.

Then there the fact he is bosom buddies with Sen. Lamar Alexander!

Add to that that the ENTIRE Ed/Workforce Committee is doing EVERYTHING it can to INCREASE CTE (Career Tech Education, the adult form of K-12’s Common Core/College and Career Readiness)! IF Rep. Kline, again, had read the ESSA as thoroughly as we Warriors did, he’d know that the plan ALL along was to INCREASE the College/Career Readiness via the CTE and Career Pathways. But wait, maybe he DID know and has been playing us all along?!

No matter which, his statement points to using the HEA (Higher Education Act) to FIX the overreach into teacher preparation for leading K-12. Duh?!

What have I been researching and sharing about this all along?! HEA is the LAST link in the cradle to grave education for workers ‘bridge’.

Of COURSE teachers are to be aligned! ESSA states it VERY plainly. So, crying ‘FOUL’ over what Dr. King’s doing is a typical CCSS Machine fallacy-filled move! The biggest fallacy (which has been successfully used repeatedly by the CCSS Machine) is the ‘bandwagon fallacy’. I absolutely love fallacies and logic study. I led several classes for this a few years back. From my favorite logic study authors, the Bluedorn Brothers (“Fallacy Detectives”), here’s a simple example for ‘bandwagon’, “Clyde: “Dad, can I go to see the movie “Attack of the Killer Wombats?” Dad: “No, son, you can’t go. I heard that movie has bad things in it.” Clyde: “Awe, come on, everybody’s going to see it.” ” Below, you’ll see a bit more in-depth example.

Now, I don’t go off on this side bar for nothing. Many of us know that the ‘bandwagon’ has been a major hit in times past. My point however, is this, if we REALLY know how it’s being used against us, we gain another way to strike back!!

In our War vs. the Core, this is vital! Especially with all the policy making going on while Congress is at home. Oh, come on, you don’t think they are SO focused on the elections, they’d let an opportunity to create MORE P3 (public private partnership) opportunities collect dust until AFTER the elections, did you? I haven’t! Here’s why. When ESSA was passed into law, Sen. Alexander declared the HEA was next. Before Rep. Kline left for the Fall break a few weeks ago, he stated that his buddy, Alexander would take care of education when he got back to D.C. after the elections.

Warriors, they are all but baiting us with moves like this. I also think it’s wise to remember that the 2017 Fed Ed Budget (at least while they were still requests) had plenty of evidence about the teacher alignment (aka: professional development). I shared with you then all the CCSS Machine members who were going to be conducting all this development, too.

As far as Rep. Kline’s supposed distress about the overreach of the U.S. Education, consider this article where I show you the well known groups using the language of ESSA’s mandates to set our school leaders up for alignment. While Kline is not mentioned, his good buddy Alexander sure is. Surely, though Kline knew earlier about some of these shifts. Look at the content between work and education!

Closing:

Finally, why I think Rep. Kline is being overly dramatic with his bandwagon use.
He knows full well that the U.S. Dept. of Education oversees Higher Education as well as K-12 education, and, early education.

Suggesting an updated piece of legislation (which is illegally based) to fix a problem created by another illegally based (updated) piece of legislation which is overseen by an illegally based federal agency is quite redundant.

It is also a disgrace to our nation’s checks and balances. Lastly, it is one of the most see-through attempts at manipulation over a group of citizens known as Americans, not minions.
