So, Now What?!

Greetings for a Wonderful 2017, Anti Fed Ed Warriors! I truly hope your family times together were great; mine were. However, we’ve got work to do!

The War Vs the Core pauses for no one. While it’s very well known (by now) that the U.S. Senate will begin hearings on confirming Betsy DeVos as the next U.S. Secretary of Ed, we need to see WHAT else is happening that’s NOT so well known surrounding the CCSS Machine’s continued takeover of American education.

Okay, 2017’s Here:

Warriors, with the new calendar year, we need to look for ANY change in dates related to ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act), especially any tied to funding. Why? The Fiscal Year 2017 has already begun, so all those dollars and cents earmarked for anything in ESSA or those laws related to it, has already been set in motion.

The change of any dates, however, will be of concern for us, as legislation is updated OR created to align each State to the funded mandates in ESSA. Look below to see the North Carolina ESSA Timeline, as an example of what to look for in your State:

Obviously, the 6 month span between January and June will have lots of activities. Supposedly, all types of ‘stakeholder’ input is to embedded in the ESSA NC State Plan. But, is it really?! From what I’ve been able to research, stakeholder input will be neutered, while ‘accountability’ is expanded to overreach into more assessments, more proficiency measures, and so much more.

The crux? As long as it’s tied to federal funds, education will NOT be a State Sovereign recognized entity.

But, Warriors, that’s not all we need to look out for….

So, Now What?!

From the NC ESSA 2017 document I was able to access, you will also be able to find other ‘red flags’.

Such as all State Accountability regulations (as laid out by the U.S. Dept. of Ed) were received in 11/16. All State Assessments regulations (as laid out by the U.S. Dept. of Ed) were received in 12/16, almost exactly on the 1 year anniversary of ESSA’s becoming a law.

Yet, if we are to believe the screen shot above, we, as part of the ‘stakeholders’ still can provide feedback on HOW our States implement any education plans.

To access the NC ESSA 2017 document:

Is There Anything Else?!

Since NC has ‘spilled’ the beans on some key ESSA ‘evidence’ we can all use, I can point you to some more areas.

1) The digital competency based education mandates are huge in ESSA. NC’s been working hard (just like all the other States) to make sure every child has no excuse as to why they are not digitally connected in the name of education’s sake. (*Note: I’m including the general search tab for my blog on every article where I’ve exposed these. We MUST review this type of information in order to properly combat the CCSS Machine. See: https://commoncorediva.wordpress.com/?s=ESSA+digital )

For example, here in NC, there’s a “School Connectivity Initiative”. Our State Board of Education has been leading this effort to help lead the State to not only digital overload, but MORE competency based education which aligns to not only Common Core, but it’s ‘new’ name:
College and Career Readiness.  Below is a screen shot of the meeting notes on the School Connectivity Initiative. The added emphasis is mine:

If you wish to see the School Connectivity Report and learn from NC how your State will be impacted by E-rate legislation (which unites WIOA, Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act), HEA (Higher Education Act), and ESSA via the digital data mining and data sharing, for example), see: https://simbli.eboardsolutions.com/Meetings/Attachment.aspx?S=10399&AID=79491&MID=2933

Thanks to a 2016 Resolution State Board of Education members, they pledged NC to MORE Career Tech Education (which is another name for “Common Core”). This played right into the then, Gov. McCrory’s plan to have a more educated workforce streamline. The Resolution also upheld the digital conversion across the State as well.
I’ve not heard from our new Governor (Gov. Cooper) yet about such an agenda, but I’m also certain, NC is in for a Common Core/Career Tech Ed/College and Career Readiness 2.0.

2) Dept. of Health and Human Services overreaches in ESSA are also a big concern for us in 2017. While I’ve shown you the federal level mandates, what about what lurks in your State level departments?
For example, here in NC, I found the words ‘a school operated by the Department of Health and Human Services’  in NC Senate Bill 873 (a bill to reduce tuition costs). Dig a bit deeper, and you’ll find that in 2016, NC spent quite a chunk of taxpayer money when it came to education and/or related activities. (See: http://www.northcarolinahealthnews.org/2016-health-human-services-budgets-compared/)

2a) The TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families) can be tied back to the CCSS Machine on both the State and federal levels. (To see the entire Bill:
; page 4, near the bottom is where you’ll find what I did.)

2b) NC FAST (North Carolina Families Accessing Services through Technology) is a Dept. of Health/Human Services State level program full of areas of concern in the data tracking and mining of children. (Home page: http://ncchildcare.nc.gov/general/mb_aboutus.asp; look to the left hand menu to find NC FAST and other programs.)

Why should we be concerned? While one fact sheet states children will not be ‘coded’ for Smart Start programs (also tied to the CCSS Machine at the federal level), the combination of federal-to-state-level funding is a big red flag. See: http://ncchildcare.nc.gov/PDF_forms/NCFAST_P3_Fact_Sheet_Issue11.pdf
*Note: NC FAST works with the NC State level Department of Information Technology.

3) Does the NC Dept. of IT tie back to the CCSS Machine and/or its grasp on education reform?
I  believe it has to. Why? You cannot have data tracking or data mining without IT. You cannot have, or meet the ESSA digital infrastructure mandates without IT. Here in NC, the State Chief Information Officer is APPOINTED by the Governor. When you have a Governor sold out to the CCSS Machine, it’s easy to make the connections. Remember, the CCSS Machine’s goal in education reform is a streamlined, workforce society.

Look below and see how NC has set itself up for a total data mining makeover!

(*Note: In 2015, I revealed to you how NC was coding and tracking each and every student for the CCSS Machine’s Workforce based education system. ESSA will only increase this activity, not reduce it! https://commoncorediva.wordpress.com/2015/08/27/ccss-follow-up-system-more-than-money-will-follow-your-students/ )

Warriors, we’ve got much more to look out for in the scope of the CCSS Machine’s grasp on our nation. Remember, while all the media is poised on Capitol Hill, what happens in our own backyards is bearing out the truth behind all this reform: It’s coming from all angles and isn’t slowing down. While the media swears we’ve ended Common Core, we can see it’s as alive and poisonous as ever. You may not live in NC, but, as you know, all our States are being set up for a tremendous fall. Let’s work together to use this type of evidence to expose where it is where you live.

Weekend News for the War Against the Core

For the last weekend in April (2016), I wanted to leave you with a few things every anti CCSS Warrior needs to know about P3s (Public private partnerships). If you missed these, you can now find them in one place. If you haven’t gotten this information before, you now have some great tools to use.

Blasted P3s!

If you have followed my research long, you know that time and time again, the P3s keep showing up in the midst of the CCSS Machine and its grinding away at America. Like everything fed through the CCSS Machine, P3s and their intent is not good for education at all.

What once was to be a healthy relationship between government and the private sector has become a holy hell. Consider this: early P3 relationships concerning the private sector and schools were to BUILD the schools. That way the private sector could return to their private business and the schools could get on with teaching.

But in the shift to CBE (Competency Based Education) aka OBE, (Outcome Based Education) the private sector has done more than build the schools, they now help guide what is taught. Meanwhile the schools have appeared to have no problem selling our kids education out in the process.

In the ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act), States will be awarded big bucks for allowing MORE P3s in our schools, not less. P3s will get to work with the LEAs (Local Education Agencies) to determine if a student is ready to proceed to the next grade level. (Page 137 of the ESSA Final Conference Report states this.)

Recently, while on a national webinar/conference call with a pro CCSS group concerned about the ESSA and civil rights, they brought up the fact that P3s were a great thing in schools. When I asked them about Page 137 and the mandate; how would the P3s be accountable; how could the P3s do the teacher’s job, they were stumped! I was told that while they didn’t have a good answer they certainly agreed P3s need to be vetted and deemed appropriate.

Warriors, do you see what an open-ended message the ESSA used in this instance? Do you see how fraught with alignment this leaves our States?! Consider the recent news that Planned Parenthood has now been given the green light to open offices directly in select schools across the country. (Source: http://associatedmediacoverage.com/planned-parenthood-announces-on-site-partnership-with-select-public-school-systems/ )

This is a blazing example of a P3 overreach. While it is supposed to be in high schools only, think about the fact our high schools are being redesigned (or already have been) and now include middle school age kids in the SAME buildings!! This means students younger than high school could now have access to the P3, CCSS agenda driven Planned Parenthood.

Please note, Planned Parenthood is not the only agenda driven group. There are plenty more. Ask yourselves, since ESSA has it that groups like this will help determine how ready for the next grade level your student is, HOW will they measure this?!

More on P3s from my blog articles:
https://commoncorediva.wordpress.com/2016/03/01/warriors-guide-to-essa-and-private-education/ (*Note: P3s will definitely include the digital makeovers in our homes/schools/wrap around services as laid out in the ESSA.)

https://commoncorediva.wordpress.com/2016/01/04/meet-your-new-neighbor-essa-seriously/ (*Note: According to the White House Promise Neighborhood has over 1,000 P3s involved. The White House link to find this is embedded in the article.)

https://commoncorediva.wordpress.com/2016/04/19/play-money/ (*Note: just published earlier in April, the article where I featured the P3 group teaching teachers how to run recess/play time and their alignment to the Social Emotional Learning aspects of CCSS.)

https://commoncorediva.wordpress.com/2016/04/17/watch-out-alignment-ahead/ (*Note: Also recently published, this one shows how the States will be incentivized to create MORE P3 partnerships for education.)

https://commoncorediva.wordpress.com/2016/03/10/update-ccss-cte-stem-and-connect-nc-bond/ (*Note: Will give you an example of how the P3s are in our community colleges already. NC is used as the example.)

Related P3 Information, Top/Down and Spread Around:

From the U.S. Dept. of Ed, the i3 Grantees (Investing in Innovation):

From the U.S. Dept. of Ed, the Promise Neighborhood Awards (will only be up to 2012, as 2013-14, no new awards were given. Also note that Promise Neighborhoods are codified in the ESSA and have an entire Section in the Law, see Section 4624; Others related to Promise Neighborhoods: Full Service Community Schools, Section 2465; 21st Century Community Learning Centers, Section 4001-42016. Each of these will also have P3 involvment/overreach):

While I provide the following as examples, please note that each named partner may also have other partners they work with and are NOT named. Regardless of how trustworthy the names of the partners/groups are, remember, this is all part of the purposed and planned overreach in the name of ‘student success’!

An example from CA of an existing Promise Neighborhood Partnership program:
However, look at the vision behind the Promise Neighborhood in this instance:

Here is another CA example of a Promise Neighborhood, in this one, I saw at least 3 CCSS Machine members (United Way, La Raza, and a Economic and Workforce Development Council)http://missionpromise.org/our-work/mpn-partners/

This Promise Neighborhood in MN is governed by a private council!!
https://www.wilder.org/Community-Leadership/Saint-Paul-Promise-Neighborhood/Pages/Partnership-Council.aspx (Ask yourselves, what does this mean in an ESSA era? Will this type of governing replace current school boards, town councils, etc.?) Think I am nuts for suggesting this question? Remember the ESSA is written as an open-ended law in some of its parameters on purpose! Also, the mandate of student achievement wrap around services basically rubber stamps ANYTHING as long as it can be considered educational, a resource, or both.

From TX, A Promise Neighborhood’s  Picture:
(when you click to enlarge it, notice the tag line at the bottom)

From their Strategic Plan (2013-2107), the following excerpt, “EPN initiated its target setting process in November, 2013 prior to DOE/Urban Institute’s released of its target setting guidance. EPN’s process included thirteen community-wide meetings with over 200 individuals from the broader community and ten small-group meetings with over 50 individuals from specific workgroups (e.g., the Dual Generation Workforce Pipeline workgroup) or specific partnerships (e.g., Out of School Time providers, City Year, all SAISD campus principals and their teams). The process continued up until the submission of the Data Plan on March 31st, 2014.” To get the entire PlanEPN-Strategic-Plan-to-Achieve-Results-2013-2017
(*Note: you will need to know that Head Start is mentioned in this Plan. Head Start is also aligned to the CCSS Machine! Early Head Start is too. Temporary Assistance for Needy Families Funding (used in many communities across America) is also aligned.)

For Head Start/Early Head Start:
a) This one will show you many P3s in the educational mix now:
b) This one ties the U.S. Dept. of Health/Human Services and their Substance Abuse/Mental Health Services to all CCSS Machine alignment, top/down style:

For the TANF Funding:
a) See point #3: https://commoncorediva.wordpress.com/2015/09/29/ftf-more-tracking-the-workforce-aligned-society/
b) How TANF is used in CCSS aligned research for preK and up to accomplish CBE/OBE:

Tying Promise Neighborhoods,P3s, Head Start, and TANF to the ESSA:

I hope I have not confused you on the intent embedded in the ESSA and the P3s. They mean to ruin academic education and replace it with competency based, workforce purposed, social justice minded, and constricted paths for our students. While much is being said about P3s, the danger is what ISN’T being said and how it will be carried out thanks to the ESSA!

As I recently heard an author state about this kind of treatment in another country (I have paraphrased it):
They (those in charge of government/education) do not kill you outright with guns  and knives, they kill you daily by not allowing you to be who you were meant to be or doing what you want.

The School Board Special, Part One

This Weekend News begins a special series for all those ‘anti CCSS Machine Warriors’ out there running for their school boards this election year. No matter if it is a local school board race or a state-wide race, this compendium is for you!!

If you should have an issue you would like more information on and you do NOT see it below, please do not HESITATE to let me know how I may help your campaign. Why would I do this? I want to support each of you as best as I can with information you can use to stand for a school system FREE from the CCSS Machine and ALL its overreaches into birth to pre-K, pre-K to K, K-12, community colleges, public and private colleges and universities, for profit post-secondary schools (proprietary), and any OTHER place Common Core (or as it’s new buzz phrase is known as “College and Career Readiness”) is found!

As the first in this series of articles, I would like to  devote them to these brave men and women who are seeking office for the RIGHT reasons! 1) To be a child’s hero; 2) to stand for the Constitutionally protected state sovereignty where education is concerned; and 3) to wipe out the CCSS Machine’s grasp on their local community and/or State!

Birth to Pre-K, Pre-K to K:

As we have seen and heard, NO age group, nor educational choice will be free from the illegally based (and now, rubber stamped via the ESSA, Every Student Succeeds Act) educational reform begun by the CCSSI (Common Core State Standards Initiative). My fellow anti CCSS Warrior from CA (Lydia Gutierrez) has a great Facebook post from 2014 which details Sen. Lamar Alexander’s plan to grab our students from birth and track them to career.
Why would I mention Sen. Alexander? He is one of the main sponsors of the ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act). His plan from way back when, just got a HUGE advancement via the ESSA! To see Lydia’s post: https://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=10152814417575498&id=226850210497 (*Note it has the embedded You Tube video from the 1980s where Alexander speaks his ‘Orwellian plan’ for our students.)

To see the birth to Pre-K plans via the ESSA from the Final Conference Report (that mammoth 1,061 page booger):
Section 2223 which begins on Page 373 and details “Subgrants to eligible entities in support of birth through kindergarten entry literacy.”.
Leading up to Section 2223, the following pages are also of great importance:
1) Page 365 where you can see how LEAs (Local Educational Agents) will encompass birth through 12th grade literacy, early childhood education programs including home based literacy programs, and more.
2) Page 370 where you will find percentages of funding the states are to have for any program or activity to ready birth through Kindergarten for school.
3) The bottom of Page 370 and into 371 where you will see birth to 5 years programs for low income families targeted.
4) Page 372 states the following for those teaching our youngest students: “Coordinating with institutions of  higher education in the State to provide recommendations to strengthen and enhance pre-service courses for students preparing to teach children from birth through grade 12 in explicit, systematic, and intensive instruction in  evidence-based literacy methods.”
5) Page 374 will show you how ‘data analysis’ will be used in regards to birth through kindergarten entry.
6) Page 375 details the assessments of the birth to kindergarten for the sake of successful entry into school.
7) That damnable educratic, pro Common Core term ‘pipeline’ (in reference to our students) is used on Page 600. “PIPELINE SERVICES.—The term ‘pipeline services’ means a continuum of coordinated supports, services, and opportunities for children from birth through entry into and success in postsecondary education, and career attainment. Such services shall include, at a minimum, strategies to address through services or programs (including integrated student supports) the following:  ‘‘(A) High-quality early childhood education programs.” (*Note: There is more, but you need to read it for yourselves.)
8) Page 615 will focus on the children (from birth) in the lowest income cities with a continuum of ‘high quality’ services. While this may not be a terrible thing, consider that further down the page, the data collection and reporting of said data goes to the U.S. Dept. of Education’s Secretary!
9) The homeless children’s lack of records will also be included in all this new education reform. See Pages 881, 889,  and 900.
10) Page 959, The States are to keep parents up to date on all the ‘mixed delivery systems’ of programs for birth to kindergarten entry level.
110 Lastly, on Page 967, you will need to know that the States will be assessing the families for successful improvement among  family members.

If you do not have access to the Final Report: ESSA FINAL CONFRPT_112915

In the much shorter U.S. Law version of the ESSA (391) pages, you will find Section 2223 is still the same. Page numbers, however, will be different. To find where the students from ‘birth’ and up are mentioned, see: 136, 138 (twice), 139 (5 times), 140, 223, 238, 326, 329, 333, 354, and 357. Each of the topics found in the Final Report have made their way into the Law version. To access the Law version: Finalessa.391pages

As Far As My Research, I Would Like to Offer You:

Zero to Three Common Core which has received the American Academy of Pediatrics backing as well as a major insurance company (MetLife)! See: https://commoncorediva.wordpress.com/2015/07/04/sic-em-saturday-pint-sized-common-core/
What you, as a candidate, need to know about this article: Look to your area’s Early Head Start Program; that each of the 50 States has a ‘Baby Fact Sheet’; that some States (especially those deemed as successes with their Race to the Top funding) have a ‘Preschool Development Grant’ from the U.S. Dept. of Education; that the National Institute for Early Education Research (NIEER), is backed, supported, and funded by some of the biggest names in the CCSS Machine!

Then here is my article pertaining to the massive amounts of research being conducted on our youngest students in the name of education. See: https://commoncorediva.wordpress.com/2015/11/10/ftf-prek-research-ccss-cbe/
What you, as a candidate, need to look for from this article: Your state’s funding and use of TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families) and how CCSS has got its grasp on this money; how competency based education (is largely workforce based learning in nature) is being designed for our little people in the classrooms and related programs; how our youngsters are bringing shaped into BRICKS (I kid you not), and more!

How will the birth to pre-K and kindergartners figure into the WIOA (Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act of 2014) which is also expressly tied via the language of the ESSA (as law)?! See my article: https://commoncorediva.wordpress.com/2016/01/05/essa-ties-to-wioa-2014-and-new-citizens/
What you, as a candidate, need to know from this article: Those ‘sub grants’ for ELA (English Language Arts) are to be used so that EVERY student, including these younger ones, will be in line for the cradle to career education;  how the language shift FROM “Common Core State Standards” TO ‘Challenging State Academic Standards’ is not only more of the same education reform, but will have massive amounts of money attached!

Encompassed into the Promise Neighborhoods and the 21st Century Community Learning Centers and/or Community Schools will be not only the youngest learners, but the ENTIRE family! See: https://commoncorediva.wordpress.com/2015/08/17/supportive-acts-to-back-initiative/
What you, as a candidate, need to know: That while the Promise Neighborhoods is NOT a new piece of legislation, HOW it is included in the ESSA is new! Those 21st Century Community Learning Centers (which can also sometimes be referred to by a number of catchy names) are part of a White House Initiative, as well as a P3 (public-private partnership) effort to have entire communities aligned to the Common Core State Standards Initiative.  To see that information and to learn more: https://commoncorediva.wordpress.com/2014/10/24/fom-friday-knowledgeworks-or-knowledge-quirks/ (*Note: This article lays out for you the cradle to career aligned community network already in place across America.)

No matter where you are in America, the ESSA, the CCSS Machine, the Initiative and agenda behind Common Core, is going to continue to wreck our nation! This is just a look at a FEW of the researched pieces of evidence I have concerning birth through Kindergarten. Take the time to read each article, investigate for yourselves the reports, links, and programs featured. Ask LOTS of questions, be ferocious in your campaigns! Our children, our schools, and our nation are MUCH too precious to not protect. Part 2 of this series will address K-12 education.

FTF: More Tracking the Workforce Aligned Society

As promised, anti CCSS/CTE Warriors, here’s the article detailing more information on how our nation is slowly, but surely becoming a workforce aligned nation.  Over the weekend, if you read my “Weekend News”,  I shared 2 distinct graphics from the federal government’s Education and the Workforce Committee.  See: https://commoncorediva.wordpress.com/2015/09/27/weekend-news-tracking-the-ccsscteworkforce-aligned-society/

SKILLS Act? It’s a Law Now and It Has a New Name!:

In today’s ‘From the File Tuesday’, we’ll look at several legislative moves meant for the express purpose of aligning our nation. First up, the SKILLS Act (Supporting Knowledge and Investing in Lifelong Skills Act). It’s bill number was HR803. It was put before Congress in the 2013-14 Session. According to the Library of Congress, HR803 has had 6 makeovers. The very first one appeared in Feb. 2013. Now, if you’ll remember, I shared with you over the weekend, that I’d tie the SKILLS Act to the WIOA (Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act of 2014). Folks, you may already know this, or you may not. The tie? Quite simply, over the course of the Congressional ins/outs/swapping Chambers, etc. The SKILLS Act was renamed to become the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act!

(*Note: The WIOA became law in July 2015. One of my Nov. 2014 published articles detailed  information on how  legislation set in Washington trickled down to the state level and how the data collection in the name of Workforce was happening. If you’d like to see just HOW Workforce Data is handled in your state, see: https://commoncorediva.wordpress.com/2014/11/06/tech-thursday-workforce-commissions-education-and-common-core/)

When it was SKILLS:

When HR803 was known as “SKILLS”:
1) The bill (introduced by NC legislator Virginia Foxx)  ‘will empower employers, rein in bureaucracy, and provide America’s workers with a more dynamic, flexible, and effective network of job training services.”

2) The bill used a 2011 Government Accountability Office document, which reveals connections to  the 2009 “Recovery Act”. (remember this was the Act which gave us ‘shovel ready’ projects, Affordable Health Care, and a host of other changes?)
The document:  2011GAOreport

3) A program “Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF)” was included. Why is this important in 2015? Did WIOA keep this program? Expand it? Keep reading, my warriors!

4) The bill gave our governors even more power when it comes to workforce training programs. (If you’ve not seen any of my published work on just HOW far NC has gone to align education for the good of NC, here’s one where not only will you see the selling out of the citizens of NC to the Common Core, you’ll also get to see how the state used its grant money from the Workforce Quality Data (in the Nov. 2014 article above) : https://commoncorediva.wordpress.com/2015/08/27/ccss-follow-up-system-more-than-money-will-follow-your-students/

5) The bill also gave greater power to businesses (the ‘private’ in “public, private partnerships embedded in the CCSS Machine). All the ‘bonuses of HR803’ are included in this archived ‘fact sheet’. See: http://edworkforce.house.gov/uploadedfiles/short_bill_summary_-_skills_act_final.pdf

I give you these items so we can look at where these programs/efforts have been increased through the WIOA or other legislation (will include federal and state levels).

The Temporary Assistance for Needy Families certainly sounds like a noble cause, and I’m sure for those in need, the help is appropriate. However, in the vane of aligning education for workforce needs, is it truly noble? To learn more about TANF, see their website: http://www.acf.hhs.gov/programs/ofa/programs/tanf
TANF is part of the U.S. Dept. of Health and Human Services (one of the 3 federal agencies using education as an alignment tool to reform America)
One of the features about TANF mentioned in that Government Accountability Report? The ‘one-stop-job-centers’ created by combining at least 2 programs. Here’s an excerpt, “Options that may increase efficiencies include colocating services and consolidating administrative structures, but implementation may pose challenges. While WIA Adult and ES services are generally colocated in onestop
centers, TANF employment services are colocated in one-stops to a lesser extent. Florida, Texas, and Utah have consolidated their welfare and workforce agencies, and state officials said this reduced costs and improved services, but they could not provide a dollar figure for cost savings.”

Did TANF get included in the WIOA (what SKILLS turned into)? You bet it did! Here’s a document called “Aligned by Design”: WIOA and TANF2015-06-Aligned-by-Design-WIOA-and-TANF

TANF funds include Title 4 funding for each state, Anita Hoge, a well known anti CCSS Warrior has shared many times how Title 4 funding is being abused to align our schools. The abuse WILL continue in the current Student Success Act (HR5), the Every Child Achieves Act (S1177), and the upcoming efforts toward re-authorizing the HEA (Higher Education Act).

In Kansas, TANF funds, the GED, and students highlight the stealthy Career Tech, College Readiness portions of CCSS. See the story: http://ksn.com/2014/12/11/state-focuses-on-g-e-d-and-tech-students/

In Utah, TANF funds are tying STEM (also connected to the CCSS Machine as one of the foremost nationally aligning efforts in education, workforce, and our nation) to the state’s Dept. of Workforce. See that story: http://ksn.com/2014/12/11/state-focuses-on-g-e-d-and-tech-students/

Here in NC, a TANF report will reveal how the state’s “Common Follow Up System” is involved in CTE for Workforce trained citizens. Access: NC TANF report
