In The Meantime..

Anti Fed Ed Warriors, as we start a new month and await the results of the 2018 mid-term elections, I’ve got a few things to share.

 I’m not sure about you, but I’m puzzled that no matter what I’ve been sharing, as far as anti global or fed-led education news, I’m being told it’s not that important, that it all needs to wait until AFTER the 6th of November. THEN, we can get back to fighting the overreaches in education. I’ve also been told that anti fed education overreach evidence I’ve found isn’t a big enough deal to actually come to fruition.

Really?! What if those folks we need to get information to could actually shift the votes if they have the facts NOW and not later? What about those candidates who might truly NOT know all the facts; the opportunity to inform them will either be non-existent, or, not long enough to make a difference. What about the danger in our assumption that Congress would actually STOP creating federally led education overreach?

My point is simply this: EVERYDAY is the BEST day to fight to save our students! We shouldn’t be the type of citizens who load all our eggs in one basket (mid-term elections) while the varmints nip at our baskets.  We do not have the luxury of time on our sides. Quite the opposite, we should be using every moment to continue to inform others! We’ve seen the CCSS Machine use this against us. We cannot be lulled into a false sense of security. We must be diligent, we must be prepared!!

Looking Forward:

Let’s face it, Warriors, the federal Congress will not have much time to conduct our business after the November 6th elections. I’m pretty sure your State legislators will be on a less-busy track, too. From what I found both the House and Senate will be in session from 11/13-16 and 11/27-30th. In December, both meet 12/4-7th and 10th-13th. Then, both are back beginning Jan. 3rd, 2019 with the 116th Session. (The US Senate plans to meet on 11/26 and 12/3-4, 14th) So, in that respect I can understand why some would want to slack off a bit in our War Vs the Core. However, WE cannot be those types of people who’d rather react than be ready.

We’ve not got the time to loose! While those seeking office are distracted, what are some of the things we should be looking forward to (as well as preparing for) in 2019?

Showing Us The Money:

First, if you missed it, all those federally led overreaches in the FY 2019 Appropriations Bills which were passed into law, will kick in. Don’t be surprised if you see more STEM federal legislation, either. (STEM is Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) Why STEM? STEM is a tool of the United Nations and their Agenda 2030. As we get closer to 2030, expect way more STEM in America from federal and State levels.

Part of the federal educratic overreach will be coming at us from the U.S. Dept. of HHS (Health and Human Services). In fact the US HHS has 2019 Goals of their own. The main one? Expansion of government run health care. It very much intersects via ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act) Just one of the ways is the workforce pipeline.

Then, there’s the Kaiser Family Foundation (as in Kaiser Permanente tied to the Centers for Disease Control and their united efforts with Rockefeller for resilience education) Report which gives their outlook on FY 2019 as far as health care costs (associated with Medicaid) increasing. Part of the reason why? Those expanded and increasing behavioral health care and mental health programs. (Gee, the fact they’re popping up in schools wouldn’t increase the costs as well, would it?) 

Then, There’s The Labor:

In 2019, Congress will get to vote on the new NAFTA (North American Free Trade Agreement). It’s been re-branded, too. The new name is USMCA (United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement). NAFTA/USMCA has a Labor Advisory Committee (LAC). In the LAC Report from 2018 the Committee is basically trying to scare Congress into submission, from the way the language reads.

For example, the LAC tells Congress that USMCA COULD negatively impact the US workforce. How? existing NAFTA conditions have already reduced income for non-college workers in trade industries. Those who have graduated college and work in the trade industries are also facing a smaller pay check.

Their research says 2/3 of Americans are non-college graduates. The solution? Everything the LAC suggests. The main suggestions? Prepare the workforce for jobs of the future. There’s also rebuild the economy and modernize infrastructure (code for job training supersedes academics; and data tracking systems)!

Warriors, this has been the  CCSS Machine plan all along. It completely gels with the UN (United Nations) and their SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals).

LAC also reported that the new NAFTA (USMCA) could negatively impact all US public services and our property taxes. Warriors, basically, the USMCA would give more economic teeth to current policies which involve labor.

Since part of the globalization of America involves education, healthcare, and labor, you may find the cost of going global is steeper than we realize.

Sure, the UN’s saying via their SDGs that the world will have quality education (ie: one way to learn so you can earn); that all poverty will be gone (ie: we’ll all be the same pay level); and that health care will be superior (ie: we will be micromanaged and controlled), has anyone really looked at what Americans will have to sacrifice to go from total freedom to total control? Has anyone calculated the loss of life to make all this happen? Has there been anyone to say, ‘Hey wait, paychecks matter. I want to feed my family and be independent!’

I did find 2 such articles which counter the spin of the MSNBC article as well as the LAC Report. I think you may find them worthwhile in reading.

Then, read the recent BBC article where surgeons are loosing dexterity to operate. How? The educratic shift!! We’ve often said in our War Vs the Core that we knew this type of situation would occur. It has begun….

lipstickpigWarriors, 2019 is the “Year of the Pig” according to the Chinese calendar. While it is considered to be a great thing (blessed with a super personality and have great fortune), to me it’s ironic. Why? We have had so much lipstick on a pig CCSS Machine moves to date, it’s amazing we’re not all knee deep in pig poop. To see 2019 contain more of the same? UGH!

Why We Should Watch The Economy:

Warriors, like it or not, the CCSS Machine has lock, stock, and barrel tied education to the economy.  So has Congress. So has the United Nations.

Education tied to the economy makes us easier to data mine and track. Education has become a weapon used against us. Our students from all ages and educational choices are being sacrificed. The cost isn’t simply dollars and cents.

Here are some documents for the global 2019 impacts we face as Americans:
1) The UN World Economic Status (NAFTA is embedded in this), education is embedded 10 times, workforce is woven in 6 different ways. “2019” appears 144 times, and, technology is present 20 times.

2) Much of the educratic CCSS Machine shift in education can be traced to private finances. CCSS Machine member Goldman Sachs (GS)  provides this document for their clients. ‘2019’ is mentioned 8 times (mostly to say they feel a recession could happen, but not likely), there is no mention of education, however. ‘Labor’ is embedded in this report 7 times. The biggest tie to GS and the educratic shift bowing to the economy is the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. I covered how that impacts education head on in this article.

3) From the World Bank:

From this June 2018 World Bank Document on Global Economic Prospects, education is embedded 17 different times. All of them tie directly to jobs and economic growth as well as ‘skill attainment’.

4) From the U.S. based “Conference Board, Inc.” a slightly gloomier aspect for jobs in 2019. However, the reason I’m including it here, is the paragraph you see below:
“The new United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement, the successor to the North American Free Trade Agreement, largely keeps provisions governing commerce between the three countries the same. This should come as a relief to businesses in most industries. One notable exception is the auto industry which must not only contend with continued steel tariffs, but also stepped up requirements on worker compensation and the use of components from outside the three countries. With auto sales and employment trends already flat to declining, industry executives must respond to a riskier environment. Upward wage pressure will be further exacerbated by a shortage of blue-collar workers who are seeing their wages rise faster than their white-collar counterparts.” (Source)

In 2019, don’t be surprised if you see an increased amount of attention placed on indigenous languages. The United Nations has declared 2019 as “The Year of Indigenous Languages”. This reaffirms the UN 2016 Indigenous Resolution’s efforts to make sure no one is left out of the shift to adhering to Agenda 2030. (Where you’ll find the SDGs.) That said, you’ll see an increase in Agenda 2030 hype, programming, and everything which connects the UN to us. Oh, and STEM (as a main tool to shift education from academics to workforce based)? Plenty of national, regional, and international events in 2019. All for the ‘next generation of learners’.

Closing:

Warriors, there will be more to watch for in 2019, but all the things I’ve featured above directly play into the elections of 2018, but it seems no one wants to consider how much these things do.

No matter how red or blue you vote, know that BOTH parties are directly responsible for the educratic nightmare we’re faced with daily. Neither will ‘fix’ it or ‘ditch’ what’s been years in the making. They love the attention, control, and profit too much.

We need Independent representatives. Constitutional representatives. Folks like you and I, who care, who fight, who don’t sell out to the CCSS Machine.

Anti Fed Ed Warriors, in the last few days of July, I wrote and published a researched article centered on the former HR 2353, now Public Law 115-224, the “Strengthening CTE (Career Tech Education) for the 21st Century Act”. Warriors, the Bill became law when President Trump signed it on July 31, 2018. He was surrounding by lots of CTE ‘champion cheerleaders’.

Interestingly enough, the PA Representative’s (Rep. Thompson, who was the chief sponsor of HR 2353) Press Release stated that this Bill (now Law) overhauls the former Perkins CTE Act of 2006. Speaking of THAT Act, I showed you back in 2014, how the Perkins Act re-branded ‘vocational technical’ to “Career and Technical”.

So, once again, the CCSS Machine has been playing agenda word games with the citizens ever since then. Trouble is, most Americans are still remember education is as it used to be and not fully grasping the toxic changes being sneaked in under some familiar phrasing. Still more troubling is that there is almost zero ‘education’ happening in CTE (Career Tech Ed). It’s roughly 98% workforce training.

Warriors, links to my latest video about the new CTE (Career Tech Education) Law (formerly HR 2353, now Public Law 115-224). In the video, you’ll learn how the 2017 Executive Order 13801 plays into the Public Law 115-224 as well as connects directly to the new Executive Order 13845, signed July 19, 2018. (*Note, in the opening moments of my latest video, I mistaken identified HR 2353 as a resolution, it was a Bill.)

As I stated in the video, I’m providing much more information in this article.

Previous research into just what PL 115-224  (HR 2353) is going to set up for us across America:
1) From earlier this year, States are to take the CTE Pledge. After all, WIOA (Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act), STEM Act (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math), HEA (Higher Education Act), and ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act) all have!
2) From 2017. How HR 2353 would ‘level’ all education into the same thing. As we know, that was ESSA’s  goal all along.


3) To give you an idea of how eerily close the National Workforce Council created by EO 13845 is to the one laid out in the LADDER Act (as well as how ANY national council will data rape the citizens), read this article of mine.

Warriors, you’ll also definitely want to look at the May 2018 Executive Order 13801’s Final Task Force Report. In it you’ll see that the 3Rs have been sacrificed for the global economy rhetoric. How will this economic portion play out in schools? Career Technical tracks and ‘post-secondary readiness’, as laid out by ESSA.

Task Force Report Notes Previously Not Shared:
1) The entire Report is 51 pages long. Within these pages, the over all policy agenda is 4-fold: Educate, Expand, Control, and Attract (you’ll find this in the U.S. Dept. of Commerce’s Secretary Ross’s introductory letter.)

2) The Task Force created by EO 13801 (Expanding Apprenticeships) was broken into 4 sub-groups. 1) Education and Credentials; 2) Attracting Businesses to Education; 3) Expanding Access, Equity, and Career Awareness; and, 4) Administrating Regulatory Strategies.

3) From the U.S. Dept. of Labor’s Secretary Acosta’s opening letter, his goal was filling ‘insufficient’ skill gap apprenticeships*. The 26 steps the Task Force created will unfold over the next 5 years. *As ‘reported’ by public service, education, trade associations, labor unions, and companies.

4) From the U.S. Dept. of Education’s Secretary DeVos’s opening letter, her input was centered on President Trump’s expansion of apprenticeships. She claims it’s a NATIONAL priority as well as a NATIONAL education one. Her comments target ‘active learners’. She goes on to say the actions will speed up unity between education and jobs. How will this happen? Using more ‘flexible’ industry created learning models. This will, in turn, breed qualified workforce for the 21st Century. This type of qualified workforce will be key for the 21st economy, security, and, prosperity. This learning model will engage learners and be cost-effective for employers. Workforce based learning will a great way to learn, work, and earn. (*Note, underlined below will be the evidence we need showing the continued federal overreach ‘commitment’.)

5) From the U.S. Dept. of Commerce’s Secretary Ross’s letter. These 26 steps will update an 80 year old American system. He goes on to stress that the historic gains the President has made will be a carrot to fill high-skilled jobs. Sec. Ross mentions Rep. Foxx’s misinformation about the unfilled 6 million jobs in America. (*Note: be sure to scroll down to the comments section of the embedded article directly above.)

6) From the Report’s Executive Summary, the tone suggests that the entire woe of America is higher education, as in, colleges and universities! “When implemented correctly, apprenticeships will provide a career path!” (See Page 10)

7) From the 1st sub-group: Expand industry recognized apprenticeship programs, especially the ‘learn-to-earn’ ones; include CBE (competency based education) assessments; P3s (public private partnerships) clarify national portable credentials (national ID card for working); federal government identifies available resources to carry these activities out (industry sector led financing).

8) From the 2nd sub-group: use and streamline various funding streams in simple ways for attracting businesses to education (State incentives); study skill gap shortages (data rape/manipulation); U.S. Dept. of Labor centralizes all data between all participants.

9) From the 3rd sub-group: Federal government funds an all out advertising blitz (propaganda) to raise awareness for workforce based apprenticeships/aligned education; incentives by federal government to businesses for more ‘learn-to-earn’ programs; U.S. Dept. of Labor leads funding campaigns to create more community based efforts for aligned apprenticeships; improve the existing data base for the Registered Apprenticeship System.

10) From the 4th sub-group: Begin with pilot project for expanding CTE apprenticeships via a selected industry from the existing Registered Apprenticeship System. In that selected pilot: focus on mastery based learning and competency; cannot include the construction industry per the Davis-Bacon Act; base apprenticeship paychecks on a scale system to reflect competency; reform the existing Registered Apprenticeship System.

11) From the Introduction to the Report: Task Force actions began July 2017. Other meetings were held August 2017, November 2017, February 2018, March, April, and May 2018; the 4 sub-groups ‘cross pollinated’ their 26 steps to expanding CTE apprenticeships.

12) Also from the Introduction: Higher education (college) is letting Americans down; apprenticeships have a proven track record for affordability and relevancy in America; the U.S. Dept. of Labor has 4 pillars for all programs (apprenticeships included): provide your needs, manages your direction, earn money while you learn, and, rewards you with credentials. Total typical process time these programs take: 1-6 years.

13) Introduction continues with:
a) old apprenticeships were focused on construction and manufacturing. New ones will focus on healthcare, IT, transportation,energy, and logistics.
b) old pattern (in place since the 1930s) is the base for now; the U.S. Dept of Labor and States partner to ‘upskill and reskill’ citizens. Updates will remove all barriers for disabled, elderly to be included; create stable families (especially for low-income ones); improve economics and social community situations (cites a WA State example on Page 15); apprenticeships praised by bipartisan elected leaders, current and previous White House Administrations, and State Governors.
c) Page 16 will show you the huge ‘put down’ aimed at America’s colleges and universities.
d) Page 16 also shows the blatant lie that “Apprenticeships can offer a key component to the solution to the skills gap.” (Based off a Harvard University Business School Study. The irony is that Harvard partnered with Pearson to help create the myth of the ‘skills gap’ and helped create the Career Pathways as a solution. Career Pathways are a embedded part of CTE!)
e) Warriors, to me, this is the BIGGEST clue to just how globally minded D.C. has become while sacrificing our nation on the altar of our freedoms. The Task Force actually has the audaciousness to bring in how much American apprenticeships should copy the German and Swiss apprenticeships! (*Note: the European Union’s targeted youth ages are 16-24 years of age. That’s 8 years.)
See middle paragraphs on Page 17 for Germany and Switzerland). Be sure to look at the associated footnotes and see the CCSS Machine member groups/resources cited.

14) From the Section “Implementation Challenges”:
a) there are several complex and inter-related ones. Setting a tone of ‘us vs them’, here are what are considered to be challenges for the government:
i) student interest and engagement in ‘worker supply’
ii) parents lack ‘career awareness’
iii) youth do not grasp ‘viable’ tracks for prosperous futures
iv) businesses need better ‘career profiles’
v) communication needs include apprenticeship ‘design signals’ for skills needed
vi) more early career counseling especially for ‘middle skills’ to elevate the dignity of workforce apprenticeships
vii) increase ‘stackable credentials’, increase transportation for participants; increase P3s especially for flexibility in alignment.

15) Warriors, of the 26 action steps (which I gave in my latest video), will begin on Page 21 of the Report. Six steps will involve education/credentialing; Four will expand access, equity and career awareness. Three steps will go toward attracting businesses. The largest group belongs to the administration and regulations for apprenticeships and their implementation (which will be no doubt carried by Executive Order 13845’s created National Workforce Council) at 13 steps.

16) The Conclusion of the Report begins on Page 39. The most important information from this section is that businesses, labor unions, non-profits, trade and industry groups, education, and public officials are pleased to answer President Trump’s call to increase this type of programming in America. As Warriors, notice the ‘lifelong learning’ educratic phrase and how education/workforce aligned apprenticeships will break down American silos.

Dear Valued Person

Hello my Anti Fed Ed Warriors!

Much of the focus, last week was on the FEPA (Foundations for Evidence-Based Policymaking Act) hearing. It is imperative we keep up any pressure to influence D.C. to #StopFEPA!

Also happening last week, was the third U.S. Senate HELP HEA (Higher Education Act) Hearing. If you missed the Hearing, you can watch the archived version. Scroll down to ‘watch video’. If you missed my article about the Hearing and how it’s tying into the global education agenda, access that here. (*Note: the Hearing is just over 2 hours)

What’s the ‘catch’ about the HEA Hearing? Well, Warriors, there are several.

First, the HEA was created back in 1965. It’s been re-authorized roughly the same amount of times as the original ESEA (Elementary and Secondary Education Act). The HEA was LAST re-authorized (in its entirety) in 2008.

Then, there’s the latest re-branding of the HEA. Instead of the “Higher Education Act”, the name has been updated to now be known as the “Higher Education Innovation Act”.

Warriors, remember, this version belongs to the U.S. Senate. The U.S. House also has a re-branded HEA title in their version: PROSPER (Promoting Real Opportunity, Success, and Prosperity Through Education Reform). I wrote about the global ties to the House’s version of the HEA back in Dec. 2017. Earlier this year, I updated the information on PROSPER, here.

Next, the obvious fact that the HEA is the LAST link in the CCSS Machine’s chain for grid-locking ALL education to the workforce based, competency leveling assessing in EVERY level of schooling.

The HEA Hearing last week was supposedly about protecting taxpayers. (Who, by the way, are expected to one more time foot the bills for education reform which is 100% illegally based!) Warriors, any time Senator Lamar Alexander is leading the way in education reform, NO taxpayer is protected!

HEAblastThe last ‘catch’ of the HEA Hearing is this:  demagogue judgement on every ‘valued person’ in higher education. The judgement? “Poor outcomes” in student performance mean taxpayers suffer.

Of course, we know, thanks to the CCSS Machine, that ‘student outcome‘ is tied to teachers leadership. It’s been done so in a way which is demeaning and outrageous.
Congress should be treating students and teachers as the wonderfully gifted, ‘valued people’ they are!

Notice, D.C. is great about pointing to every person in America as part of the problem, while the REAL issue(s) will continue to go unaddressed! The leadership assumes the taxpayers are idiots. This has been happening for decades, Warriors. By both political parties!

Warriors, think about it, when it comes to your education activism.
How many times has leadership deemed you as somehow ‘misinformed’?! How many deaf ears have been turned our way when it comes to speaking out?!

The “New” V.M. (Value Meter):

As if the demagogue leadership isn’t insulting our nation enough, the CCSS Machine member organization, AACC (American Association of Community Colleges), has created a new voluntary framework to measure higher education students. It deals with ‘accountability’.

What the AACC isn’t telling you, is that they are a UN (United Nations) partner organization. As such, you can bet the ‘new’ accountability measure for ‘valued people’ will be full of global reform.

The HEA Hearing from last week also included higher education ‘accountability’.

I’ll get to the framework shortly. I want to pause first to make a few points for those of you who may wish to share this article.

A) Community colleges are used by all ages and from every educational choice. The CCSS Machine’s grasp on the community colleges across the nation has put the community college in the exact center of the one-way-to-learn-so-you-will-earn education reform. The UN’s global education also includes the one-way-to-learn-so-you-will-earn system.

B) For many students and families, community colleges are the ‘go to’ answer for not only paying much less (have you noticed how the CCSS Machine agenda includes ‘free’ community college?), BUT, it’s where you can supposedly ‘get ahead’ faster.


C) If you’re attending community college after a public school graduation, it’s here your CCSS Machine
 pre-determined career track will continue. 

D) If you’re attending one of these schools as part of your homeschooling, or immediately upon completing your homeschooling requirements, it’s community college where you’ll be sucked into the CCSS Machine’s agenda and data mining system.


E) If you’ve decided community college is a great way to begin a second career or have been out of school for many years, the CCSS Machine agenda will encompass you as well.


F) If your job requires you to attend community college as a way to earn a promotion, you, too will be ensnared by the CCSS Machine’s global education idea of trained workers for specific jobs.

Warriors, by making this framework voluntary, post-secondary schools will be able to choose to belong to this system. However, as we’ve seen with ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act) ‘choice’ (when it comes to accountability) is distorted.
Hang on, though, Warriors; there are two things to point out here:

A) The AACC isn’t Congress, however, the AACC Advocates lobby Congress to help promote federal agenda for community colleges! What’s more? This group is aggressive in pushing education policy.


B) We need to watch HOW Congress will re-write the HEA in both Chambers to see how mandated ‘accountability’ will become in post-secondary schools. The mandates for K-12th grades are tremendously overreaching.

The AACC Framework measures students via data tracking, sharing student data among every voluntary framework school (aka: Pathway 2.0 Schools).

According to the KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) Sample, this Framework will take several years before any real results can be seen. ‘Gateway’ (college level) English and Math courses and assessments are to be measured. How well your student (or even you) persist from one semester to another is gauged. Then there is ‘how many credits you earn’ while attending one of these community colleges participating. You’ll also see the ‘readiness’ factor used in this system. “How ready are Johnny and Suzy for community college?”

Warriors, interestingly enough, I did find at least two presentations, here in America, for ‘gateway’ Math and English in the community college landscape. The first one appears to be from MO and was presented by the “Complete College” campaign. The second is from a VA community college and shows the ties to specific ways the ‘gateways’ are tied to local economics, race, and, gender.

You also may find it interesting that in the UK (United Kingdom) a 2 year Gateway English and Math is used in not only higher education, but apprenticeships, and other workforce-based competency ways.

As we’ve seen here in America, apprenticeships are also CCSS Machine aligned and are used as a way for the demagogue-led system to ‘sell’ more jobs. We know Congress is fully behind aligning education to workforce needs.

Working Over The “Old North State”

Anti Fed Ed Warriors, just a few days ago, I shared with you how ‘great’ NC’s updated school-wide report cards are. ICYMI, here it is.

Worth repeating, though, is this: A CTE (Career Tech Education) specific school in my county had ZERO textbooks (according to the NC Report Card website).

What does this have to do with workforce based education? Everything! Not only is NC (Old North State) getting ‘worked over’, every other State is too!

It’s been said for years that the goal for ‘education’ isn’t being well educated, it’s being well-trained.

Not long after I began my blog (2014), I attended an meeting held on a local community college campus. The rhetoric spilling out of the elected officials and school employees was eye-opening, to say the least. It was all about workforce aligned schools. See this article. (You’ll even see the embedded You Tube video about national workforce credentials. As the business owner stated in the short film, ‘no certification; no job’.)

Programs like “NC Works” bring the workforce aligned schools to 100% fruition.

I also shared with you how the NCWorks program came to be in Sept. 2014.

An updated article about NCWorks in 2015 showed you how the Governor of NC ( Pat McCrory) had laid out a ‘smooze fest’ of CCSS Machine member groups and citizens to carry out his plan for education and workforce training to intersect.

Warriors, every Governor did likewise. It was due to the language of WIOA (Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act). Governors were given more power. Using it to create aligned school-to-work systems was just the beginning.

In 2016, I gave you an update on NCWorks and how it was connected to a bond for statewide community colleges. The bond was a poorly disguised taxpayer disaster for generations to come. Thanks to the CCSS Machine, the bond was voted on and passed.

Warriors, when the Education and Workforce Commission was started, it was housed in the Governor’s administrative branch. During the summer of 2107, the Commission was moved from the Governor’s office to the NC DPI (North Carolina Dept. of Public Instruction).  From what I can find, the new location is in the NC DPI’s CTE (Career and Technical Education Office)

The announcement I found about the move is from the Public Schools First NC website:

If you are curious, the Public Schools First NC states its a group of nonpartisan citizens. However, “Mapping the Left” website shows the Public Schools First NC, has received some previous funding from The Reynolds Foundation.

Reynolds Foundation supports all kinds of community groups, social justice projects, and education. Among one of the red warning signs I found on Reynolds 2015 Grant page was to a non-profit called “DigiLearn”. DigiLearn was founded by former Governors (NC) Perdue and (WY) Geringer. (*Note: Perdue was in office when NC’s Race to the Top funds were awarded.)

DigiLearn’s Board has two well-known CCSS Machine members, one is NC legislator Craig Horn and the other is Tom VanderArk.

Warriors, I share this now, as the NC DPI is wrapping up 2017, with sights set for 2018. Planned? A new workforce based learning program AND approach. It all appears to be housed in the NC DPI’s CTE Office, too. You’ll more than likely find this type of activity in your State.

Both NCWorks and CTE use Perkins funding. Perkins funding was not to be embedded in K-12th education when it first began. Perkins funds were for post-secondary educational institutions and programs. However, when the CCSS Machine began the shift from academics to workforce, Perkins funds found their way into the classroom. ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act) even embeds CTE and Perkins funds.

You can also read about the recent 6 States (NC, AL, IA, IL, NV, and RI) involved in the CTE/STEM Workforce based Siemens Corporation education initiative.

CTE also marries Common Core to STEM.

The Siemens Initiative began back in 2015. According to the Siemens overview, it was to target ‘young adults’ (16-24 years). However, the NC workforce education plan (above) is to start in 6th grade or about 11 years old.  The Siemens Foundation partners are some heavy-hitting CCSS Machine member groups.

**I also am sharing this now to tie all of this to the fact that the HEA (Higher Education Act) is being re-written. It has been for a while now.

In these last remaining days for Congress (before the 2017 holiday recess), Rep. Foxx is the sponsor of HR 4508PROSPER Act.  It’s the House’s re-authorization of the HEA (Higher Education Act) .

Warriors, it combines CTE, STEM, CCSS, Workforce agenda, globalization, data mining,  and, cradle to grave data tracking.

HR 4174, S2046; the assault on Net Neutrality will also involve data and our right to privacy (this involves the FTC and FCC: both use taxpayer funds for data mining); the ‘data raping’ will continue via many more proposed bills.
Data is needed to pigeon hole students into workforce training aka ‘education’!

Data is the key, here, Warriors.  On one hand, we need to access HOW the data is being used against our children, as well as protect our civil right to freedom of privacy. On the other hand, as Americans, we know we must use the internet for all kinds of purposes. So, shouldn’t it be as open and free to use as possible?

If data becomes privatized or government micro-managed in any way, we’re losing our civil rights. Not to mention how terrible a track record the US government has with cyber security lately.

Hello, Anti Fed Ed Warriors

While we’ve all had a bit of rest from all that is going on and impacted education negatively, it’s time we get back to work.

Major attention is needed to combat the massive data mining bills from Congress, D.C.’s got a slew of CTE (Career Tech Education), Workforce based education, and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) bills we’ve not been paying attention to.

Congress is using (mis-using) all the data to create more legislation to align work/jobs to education!

Every one of these bills absolutely continues the data sharing. They will continue to re-create our schools into workforce skills factories, not hallowed places of learning.

Imagine it this way, Warriors, our schools (of all choices) are in the middle of a grid.
The CCSS Machine has surrounded your child’s school on EVERY corner.
Your child’s education is secondary to their worth as an investment by the CCSS Machine.
That’s why terms like “human capital”, ‘talent pipeline’, and, others are SO degrading.

Below is my simple grid from previous articles.

From Current Congressional Work:

1) S 1875 is the “Flexible Grid Infrastructure Act of 2017”.  (Warriors, note, ‘education’ isn’t in the title, but it’s in the fine print.)
Sponsor is Sen. Ron Wyden from OR. He’s a big CCSS Machine backer.
He was responsible for helping create CTE legislation on a national level in the 114th Session of Congress(*Note: the Bill in the Press Release embedded in the highlighted link is for CTE in middle schools and is called “Middle STEP Act”.)

S 1875 is currently in the Senate’s Energy and Natural Resources Committee. (*Note: The Chair for this Committee is a huge CCSS Machine member, Sen. Murkowski of AK.)

The supposed benefit of S 1875 is a more efficient energy system for America.
Woven into this Bill will be more independence and security while staying globally competitive as a nation.
Warriors, in this Bill, ‘energy’ is the broad category for not only electricity, but digital, technology, ANY kind of service or product using ‘energy’, as well as those providers of services/products.

“Education” is woven in 9 times in this “Grid”. Page 16 reveals a national communication program with customer-based education; Page 36 will involve our higher education buildings; Page 44 shows ‘model grids for power distribution’ in our homes, schools, etc.; Page 47, however, reveals the federal agencies and their authority when it comes to energy and all the training involved to work in energy. (See below):

If all this sounds brand new, it’s not. Back in July 2015, I published a two-part article on the US Smart Grid legislation and many others. Go back and look at the U.S. Dept. of Energy’s angle, THEN, for education, and compare it to NOW. (The document you are looking for is just above the White House paragraph.)

One more note for S 1875, it refers to a law from 1980, which has since been amended. It is this law which is driving Congress’s decisions on technology, data, innovation, and more.

2) HR 2933, is the LEARNS Act. “LEARNS” stands for ‘Leveraging Effective Apprenticeships to Rebuild the National Skills’ Act. This massive agenda-driven bill would also expand the federal government’s role in education by creating a new office in the U.S. Dept. of Labor expressly for apprenticeships alignment to education.

Twenty-one Representatives have been involved in its introduction. It’s sitting in the House’s Education and Workforce Committee. As you know, Warriors, Rep. Foxx of NC is the chair of that Committee. Her love for CTE is no secret.

Below, is a screen shot from Page 2 of the HR 2933’s forty-nine pages:

HR2933Congress’s ‘findings’ include the Georgetown Center on Education and the Workforce’s Report that by 2020,  a shortage of workers without post-secondary credentials will a national plight. Warriors, I believe it is this 2013 Georgetown Report used. Congress also cites the Annie B. Casey Foundation and the Mathematica Policy Research as sources. (*Note: Mathematica is a Gates Foundation grant recipient.)

Warriors, the Georgetown Center is a non-profit group which has received funds from the Gates Foundation! That grant from Gates is as recent as 2016 and was over $3.3 million dollars. The purpose of the grant was to ‘support’ the research and policy agenda behind skilled workforce education in America!

The House introduced HR 2933 in June of 2017.

The Career Pathways Report totally backs up the Congressional push for more CTE (which includes Career Pathways). According to the Press Release for this Report, curriculum alignment with workforce needs is a requirement.

ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act) is where you’ll find the mandate which cements having such a requirement.

On Page 5 of HR 2933, you’ll see the purpose of aligning apprenticeships to education is to carry out the mandates of both WIOA (Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act) and ESSA’s.

That mandate? All education MUST be aligned to post-secondary readiness standards. Those post-secondary readiness standards have been branded “college and career readiness”, future-ready, choice-ready, ‘challenging state academic standards’, and more. All of these are re-brands for the same thing: Common Core!

Warriors, ICYMI, I revealed to you some time ago how Harvard University and Pearson helped get “Career Pathways” into the CCSS Machine’s reform via their “Pathways to Prosperity” Research Study. (*Note: Harvard’s also heavy into student data mining.)

Congress has relied on Harvard as well as Georgetown for ‘evidence’ and policy.

3 and 4) The last two current proposed bills related to numbers 1 and 2 are a set of ‘sister bills’. The House’s version is HR 2865; the Senate’s is S 1193. The names are the same.
They are the “Better Education and Skills Training for America’s Workforce Act”.
The House’s version is in the Education and Workforce Committee; the Senate’s is in the Committee on Finance.

Both of these Bills are designed to give an update to the IRS tax codes so businesses can pay for education for employees. While that sounds great for businesses, what does this mean for the students of all ages and educational backgrounds? Below is a screen shot you may find interesting:

Warriors, ask yourselves this: With the current shift in education encompassing job training, does the current ‘federal apprenticeship registered program’ get expanded to include non government employees under the language of S 1193? I believe it will, based on all the research and evidence.

On Page 10 of S 1193, you’ll see the U.S. Dept. of Labor will get another expansion as far as offices/agencies for “qualified job training partnerships” (Public/Private Partnerships, P3s, which ESSA mandated had to be increased in education for ‘student success’).

This new office will get $1 billion dollars to use as tax credits for those participating. Page 11 is specific to point out the how all this will ‘allow non-traditional learners’ to be involved in workforce based learning for jobs.

Is there anything different is HR 2865? As far as agenda, not that I could see. I did see, however, that since these bills involve tax credits, that means the U.S. Treasury Dept. will have to be involved. This means MORE data mining/sharing.

There’s also some confusing language for businesses which invest in employee’s education as to ‘is it a tax credit for me’ or ‘is it a grant to them’? Warriors, this is taxpayer funding, ultimately. How will this impact every American when it comes to our national debt?

, in HR 2933, the National Skills Act was mentioned. In 2015, I shared with you much about the “Skills Act”. ICYMI, look how Rep. Virginia Foxx was involved, look at the data mining, the purposed shift in education to meet jobs, not learning. Also look at the number of government agencies involved.

Closely tied to the National Skills Act is the National Skills Coalition. It’s a huge CCSS Machine organization in 100% support of CTE, STEM, and job apprenticeships replacing real education. Check out their 2017 State by State Report where data mining is going full grid to ensnare your citizens/students. This will prove a State level legislative shift which is feeding off the federal legislative shift. Why would the States do this to us? Fed-to-state funding streams.

Warriors, this is all the more reason we need to fight HR 7174, S 2046 (will set up a national data base on everyone in the name of education). The House and Senate versions of the College Transparency Act (HR 2434 and S 1211) will also create a massive data snooping base on everyone in the name of education.

Warriors, we do NOT have much time before Congress heads home for all the major holidays. From what I could tell, Dec. 15th, will be the last day of business in D.C. for Congress.

While D.C. thinks ‘skills’ can build America’s economy; D.C. is forgetting it’s ‘killing’ academics in the meantime! ALL these bills are creating a gridlock on us. We must fight back!

Illusions of Higher Aspirations, Pt. 2

Anti Fed Ed Warriors, today’s article is the follow up to Wednesday’s revelations about the S 806 “College for All Act of 2017”. In that article I laid out the illusions crafted by the U.S. Senate, at the beck and call of the CCSS Machine’s agenda. I showed you 17 illusions hiding in plain sight among 51 pages of this Act

Warriors, please, do NOT assume this is a political party specific play into the CCSS Machine’s working. This is from all political parties! The biggest illusion from Congress, is that S 806 and others like it, are American made based on American needs. BS!!
No, these type of bills are directly bowing to the UN’s “Education for All” campaign as well as the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals). If you’ve missed HOW, the article from yesterday has links.

For the remainder of this article, we’ll take a look at the U.S. House of Representative’s HR 1880. It is their version of the “College for All Act of 2017”.  The fallacy of ‘free’ college is extorted in this Bill, just like S 806.

Remember, both HR 1880 and S 806 are to be amendments to the existing HEA (Higher Education Act).

HR 1880 Fast Facts:

1) It is 51 pages long, just like it’s ‘sister’ bill: S806.
2) You can access the entire HR 1880 here.
3) There are several Representatives sponsoring and co-sponsoring this Bill. Reps. Jayapal, Ellison, Scott (VA), Grijalva, Nolan, Mrs. Lee, Pocan, Jackson-Lee, Khanna, Mrs. Norton, Velazquez, Conyers, Raskin, Swalwell, Cicilline, Welch, Napolitano, Langevin, Blumenauer, and Espaillat. (*Note: for all practical purposes, HR 1880 is a carbon copy of S 806)
4) HR 1880 was introduced on April 4, 2017 (S 806 was introduced on 4/3/17). The Representative’s Bill is in the hands for Education and Workforce Committee. You’ll find pro-CCSS/CTE Chairwoman Foxx there. She’s been quoted in total support of the workforce shift in education. See below:

The Illusions of Higher Aspirations Continue in the House:

My fellow Warriors, here are the items our Representatives have embedded in HR 1880:

1) Creating federal and state partnerships for higher education funding. Given via grants to wipe out tutition and related fees in all public and Native American colleges/universities. This will encompass all community colleges, early college programs, dual enrollment, concurrent enrollment, and all ages of those attending.
Just like S 806. the illusion of State-led exclusiveness in education. Also, just like S 806, non-federal funds must be supplied. HR 1880 states no ‘in-kind contributions’ will be allowed to count towards those non-fed funds. (‘in-kind contributions’ are goods and services, not money.)

No where in our U.S. Constitution is the federal government allowed to overreach in education..at ANY age!

2) Since dual enrollment and early college programs are embedded, so will the ESSA’s mandates concerning the students and teachers involved. Warriors, ALL education choices have open access to these!  ESSA, as we know is short for “Every Student Succeeds Act”.

3) Student data collected goes to the U.S. Secretary of Education. Warriors, the illusion of said data remaining in the U.S. Dept. of Education and going nowhere else is intended here. As we know, all Cabinet agencies and countless others share student data. Most especially the U.S. Depts. of Labor/Health and Human Services. Why? Aligning data makes accountability so much easier! Another illusion.

4) Just like S 806’s language, HR 1880’s has the Secretary of Education deciding which States receive grants; States will have to submit annually applications to the Secretary of Education as well. Also giving power to the Sec. of Education, is the right to challenge any State’s projected enrollment formulas.
Illusions of State-led authority in education is being used here.
(*Note: Grants ‘awarded’ equal 67% for higher education instutions not of Native American service. For the Native Americans, the grants are 95%. If you are looking for the Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), those requirements begin at the bottom of Page 28. For the increase in power the Secretary of Ed will have in determining Work Study Programs, begin on Page 42.)

5) HR 1880’s language also includes the use of any State’s GDP to adjust expected enrollment formulas. This will impact those fed-state grants. You can see an illusion of more State-led control being used. You will also see a State-level push for economics. In the CCSS Machine’s agenda, carried out by WIOA and ESSA (and soon, HEA), the economy is more important than education.

6) The State required compliance measures begin on Page 18. The laundry list is quite detailed and is just like S 806’s. The reality here will be the States bowing to the federal government. The illusion is all this is done for ‘student success’.

7) Each State Governor (or his or her appointee) will be required to not only submit any information the Sec. of Ed deems needed,  but, those applications to receive federal-state grants. Illusions of data privacy, citizens protection, and, State-led education are ripe here.

8) Once all college tutition and related fees are wiped out using the fed/state/non-fed grants, any balance of money goes to expanding ‘student success’ activities, programs, work based skill building opportunities; and, for teachers and staff, increases in personnel for ‘instructor faculty’. Note that the exclusion of ‘in-kind contributions’ is not included in this section (Pages 25/26).What illusions do you see here, Warriors?
(*Hint: Those goods/services from the CCSS Machine appear to have an open door. Think they’ll take it?)

9) For the teachers and staff, the same PD (professional development) language as S 806.

12) TRIO and GEAR UP federal workforce based programs will see a big increase at taxpayer expense. Warriors let’s remember that P3s (public private partnerships) are also footing quite a few educational bills as well.

Warriors, if you are not sure how TRIO and GEAR UP are tied to the CCSS Machine, find that here. We also need to see the illusion that TRIO and GEAR UP are education based. They are also found in the WIOA (Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act) as well as ESSA.

13) Just like S 806, HR 1880 has an increase for expanding Job Development locations and programs. This directly plays into WIOA. WIOA uses student data to streamline education to that of career tracks for jobs/economic gain..not personal academics.
Illusions of freedom of choice in what our students learn is used here. This is where ‘personalized’ education will show its sinister underbelly. The cost for this portion of HR 1880?  Find it below:

14) As with S 806, the HR 1880 has language which suggests a lower student debt loan burden. But, at what or who’s expense?! An illusion of ‘my college experience’ is happening here.

Collective society paying for everyone’s education is NOT American. It is not an American idea based on American character traits.

If we give someone something, it is valued far less than when it is achieved personally.

All we need to do Warriors, is look at the nations WITH ‘free college’. Their cost of living is horrendous. Ask a student who has attended one of these institutions. What they learn is not self-supporting, it’s intended purpose is to keep one in some sort of controlled learning enviroment for a very long time. How do I know this? A couple of years ago, during a radio interview a Dutch student called in to share his experience. His advice? Do NOT become like them!

Warriors, it is a long used tactic in D.C. for each Chamber of Congress to use bills which are either exactly like each other’s or very slightly different. HR 1880 and S 806 are in this category. The ‘take away’? The CCSS Machine is determined this type of alignment and control is embedded in the HEA’s newer version. We have much to look out for, as we continue to see the shift from American academic based learning to that of a UN, globally contrived common worker.

Why Not?

Recently, Warriors, the U.S. House of Representatives’ Ed and Workforce Committee released a press notice about #WhyCTE Works. Below is a screen shot of the email I received which announced this strategy.

Basically, the email is sharing a few personal stories which fit the agenda’s shift from academics to workforce. It promotes this shift as positive. The HR 2353 Bill (Strengthening Career and Technical Education in the 21st Century Act) is also being pumped up as a ‘door opening’ bill for all.
(*Note: before HR 2353 was numbered for record keeping, it was previously HR 5587. That Bill has the exact name the newer HR 2353 does! I broke down the Bill in its HR5587 version, here.)
The newer Bill, HR 2353 has a sponsor in Rep. Thompson from PA. I exposed his involvement in the quest to increase CTE (Career Tech Education) in late 2016.

(*Notes: Rep. Thompson is hardly the lone promoter in the quest. I urge you to know your Representatives and Senators backing the CTE/CBE (Competency Based Ed) shift. So, what does the newer Strengthening CTE in the 21st Century Act include?

Basically, it is HR 5587 with a different number. All the alignment and conformity of HR 5587 is in HR 2353. When you look below at the Ed/Workforce’s Press Release, notice the underlined phrases. As far as those bullet points with ‘positive’ moves? A bunch of CCSS/CTE bull manure.

Of course the Ed/Workforce Committee will champion anything which aligns education and workforce. Rep. Virginia Foxx is the Committee chair. Her view on ‘quality education’ is seen below:

The Senate HELP  equally champions alignment between education and employment. The Committee’s chair, as we know, is Sen. Lamar Alexander. Here is a screen shot from his Congressional website:

I found another letter from a known CCSS Machine organization (CLASP) imploring Sen. Alxeander to use CTE as laid out by WIOA (Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act) as a tool to align education. (*Note: back in Sept. of 2016, I published a scathing article on CTE, CLASP, Alexander/Murray, Congress, and early learning alignment..for our babies!)

Why We Should be Adding “Not” To CTE:

Warriors, for starters, simply put CTE IS the adult version of Common Core. In fact, I showed you, back in 2014, how CTE used to be worded. It was “Common Career and Technical Core Education”.  As time progressed and the truth about CCSS came out, the name changed to ‘Career and Technical Education’. Quick to not be seen as aligned to the “State led Standards”, the powers behind CTE, dropped the two words “Common and Core”. In many cases the ‘and’ has been dropped as well. Nothing like a quick name change to fool America, huh?

This is always reason #1 to NOT have CTE, it’s 100% CCSS aligned. (*Note: if you’re not sure how, ask me.)

Reason #2 to say “NOT”: More federal control over how States recieve and use their Perkins (CTE) funds.

Reason #3: Associate degree programs will be shifted to a ‘post-secondary credential’ (It’s optional if credentials are ‘industry recognized’).

Reason #4: CBE (Competency Based Education and accompanying assessments) will increase.

Reason #5: In HR 2353, you’ll find ESSA supportive moves, like middle school ‘career explorations’. You’ll also find every student group, even those outside of traditionally public schools will be included. You’ll find that financial aid is tied to CBE and CTE ‘results’.

Reason #6: HR 2353 is HR 5587 updated. Just as in WIOA, ESSA, and 5587; HR 2353 has the increases for ‘early college high schools’ and more.

Reason #7: CTE in Native American education.  If you want to see how ESSA impacts Native Americans, I urge you to read my article on the subject.

Reason #8: You’ll be able to add ‘in-demand’ and ‘evidence-based’ to the long list of CCSS Words/Phrases we loathe. “Rigor” and ‘challenging’ are written throughout the Bill. 

Reason #9: Increases P3s (Public Private Partnerships). This is also found in ESSA. Nothing like a business to run education, is there?

Reason #10: “Pay for Success” models in education are always a ‘lose-lose’ situation. Expect plenty more with HR 2353.

Closing:

I also will state for the record that I am NOT ‘anti job’. Jobs are a great thing. However, as we are seeing more and more of our lives funneled through the CCSS Machine, we are seeing LESS and LESS of our naturally given freedoms to choose what TYPE of job(s) we’ll have. Our ancestors fought to STOP child labor; CTE is breeding child labor-minded workers.

There is no amendment to the U.S. Constitution protecting our children in this area. The last time an amendment was proposed to ban States from exercising child labor was 1924. In that proposed amendment, Congress would usurp the States’ Rights for labor. Only 28 States ever ratified the Amendment.  It takes 38 States to ratify to be added to the Constitution.

We know CCSS Machine exploits education. What will we do to STOP CTE from exploiting our children?

Who’s Watching?

Warriors, It’s becoming increasingly clear that the leaders in D.C. have gone as far away from the protections of our U.S. Constitution as humanly possible.
HR1313 is in the news right now, but what about BEFORE HR1313? What is HR1313?
(*Note: While I am not the first person to write about HR1313, I will be the first one to come at it from an anti CCSS viewpoint.)

Our Task:

From the title of this article (and hopefully the featured picture), you know this will be about data mining. But, my fellow Warriors, it will go beyond ‘just’ data mining…down to our very DNA. Our task, Warriors, is simply this: learn all we can from the researched facts and share it.

The Force Behind the Bill:

The Bill, HR1313, is known as “Preserving Employee Wellness Programs Act”. It’s sponsor is ‘our’ sold-out CCSS Machine member, Rep. Foxx from NC. Mrs. Foxx is the lead Chair of the U.S. House of Representatives’ Education and Workforce Committee. While Mrs. Foxx has claimed she isn’t a fan of CCSS, she sure does love its ‘alter ego’, CTE (Career Tech Education). While she’s claimed to not be a fan of the U.S. Dept. of Education, she sure doesn’t appear to have a problem with accessing their shared data.

Foxx, in case you didn’t know it, was key in helping get the 2014 Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) to become a federal law. Since CTE  is woven into WIOA at least 21 different times it’s easy to see WHY she has been quoted as saying ‘All education is Career Tech Education.’ 

(*Note: In researching WIOA, I found an alternative phrase used in the place of ‘Career Tech Education’; CP or ‘Career Pathways’.)

If you access the highlighted key’, or ‘all education…’ above, you’ll also learn that Foxx is a fan of ESSA. Needless to say, she ignored every single bit of voter/anti CCSS or anti Fed Ed contact urging her to vote ‘no’ on ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act).

What’s So Damning About HR1313?

First, Foxx’s ties to the CCSS Machine.
Second, the data mining will extend from the U.S. Dept. of Labor to the U.S. Dept. of Health and Human Services and the U.S. Treasury.  What federal agencies AREN’T mentioned should be on our radars. They also share data with agencies mentioned. An example would be the data which flows freely between the HHR/Labor/Education. But, does the data pass between the Dept. of Ed and the Treasury? Look below:

We Need To Stay Diligent:

Another thing that should be on our anti Fed Ed Watch is the fact that the LADDER Act would create a NEW National Workforce Council where each of the federal agencies (picture below) would have more access to your data.
(*Note, they can access it now, but the Council would have even greater access.)

While HR1313 is geared towards those with jobs, we need to remember with the CCSS Machine’s shift TO a work-based education, it is all about the jobs and the economy, NOT education! So combine HR1313 with the Ladder Act and the control/data mining will increase at an insane rate!

More Troubles With HR1313:

The most troubling about HR1313, is the biometrics it will use. On Pages 1 and 2 of the Bill,  you’ll see the words ‘assessment’ and ‘biometrics’.

Warriors, I am not the biometrics expert on education. However, I find a connection to education via ‘biobanking’.  Microsoft’s data collection is linked to the Special Olympics. The Special Olympics uses ‘biobanking’. So does the Dept. of Health and Human Services through their sub-agency, the NIH (National Institutes of Health ). If you aren’t sure what ‘biobanking’ is, here is the definition from my previous article, “What is ‘biobanking’? It refers to banks where human tissue samples, their DNA, and other such personal items are stored.”

According to this 2011 Biometrics Research Paper, the technology behind invading our privacy will increase, become more important, and..impossible to lose.

While HR1313 is targeting adults, let’s not forget that the CCSS Machine is a ‘seamless transistion’ intended for cradle to grave. So, what happens at the beginning, happens repeatedly.

What has already happened in data mining for our K-12 students, is happening with our adults. SLDS (Student Longitudinal Data System) and WQDI (Workforce Quality Data Initiative) take care of that. It’s happening with biometrics as well.

2) For Our Adults:
a) This 2016 Slate article is jam packed with evidence about the falsehoods of the incentive-driven wellness programs HR1313 wants to mandate. It points out how the government is pushing companies (never a good sign) to use wellness programs to save money, yet the truth appears to be while the healthy workers get a discount, the non-healthy absorb the costs to make up any differences. On paper, everyone wins. In reality, only a select few.
b) “Total Wellness’s” website published this article questioning how legal employer based wellness programs are. (*Note: Be sure to read the comments about real life experiences.)
c)
This 2013 Joint Concensus Journal explains biometrics and the need for them in the workplace. The evidence is based on the following definition, “The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention defines biometric screening as the measurement of physical characteristics such as height, weight, BMI, blood pressure, blood cholesterol, blood glucose, and aerobic fitness that can be taken at the worksite and used as part of a workplace health assessment to benchmark and evaluate changes in employee health status over time.” (*Note: Refer back to the NIH embedded article to see how the CDC is included in data mining.)
 d) COABE_stratg_broch_v4 From my 2015 article, this document gives the strategy for using research data (includes biometrics) to spread WIOA’s influence in your community. Note that the CCSS Machine member organization, McGraw-Hill underwrote the document.

Other warning signs about HR 1313 include:
Page 3, with its’ ‘Uniformity Across Federal Agencies’ clause.
Page 7, gets into family genetics and personal information your employer can access.
Page 8, ‘earn a reward’. The government’s idea of a bad joke?

Closing:

This last article shares that HR1313 is following political party lines. Rep. Foxx’s party, the Republicans, are ‘winning’ so far. Warriors, as we know the fight to save our students has become a fight to save our citizens. Why? Because, as has been pointed out, it’s no longer about education, it’s all about the jobs.

Weekend News: Worker Ed

Warriors in the War Vs the Core, we are approaching the one year ‘anniversary’ of the passage of the ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act) into federal law. While much remains status quo in the quest to transform American education into a skill based worker pipeline, much has already changed. As we approach a new calendar year, new administration, and new ESSA mandates in action, we must remember one thing:

     Protect the students, teachers, and citizens!

Just take a close look at the feature shot above. It was one of the simplest ways to illustrate how all the recent laws, initiatives, and programs tie altogether for one goal. What the   CCSS Machine often calls our students: ‘human capital’ or ‘talent pipeline supply’.

Those recent laws?
HEA (Higher Education Act of 2008) is said to be currently under its latest rewriting
WIOA (Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act of 2014),
STEM* (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) Act of 2015
 ESSA, 2015

*STEM actually appeared about the same time as Common Core State Standards according to a 2010 PCAST (Presidential Council of Advisors on Science and Technology) Report.

Each of these connect Career Tech Ed, Career Pathways or Clusters,  STEM to STEAM, American Apprenticeships, and all the associated programs to the shift from academics to workforce. ESSA refers to all of this as ‘college and career readiness’ or ‘challenging state academic standards. ESSA also collectively groups all the initiatives and programs into professional development/streamlined learning with one goal:

                        Post secondary readiness in competency based education

 

Workforce/Ed News With A Spin:

During the past week, the U.S. House’s Ed and Workforce Committee have been zipping out press releases ‘celebrating’ the important work of the past few years under Rep. Kline’s leadership. Somehow, we the Warriors and Citizens, need to be reminded of the pro CCSS/CTE side of education at the hands of these legislative educrats. They are desperate to have us believe all this reform will make our nation stronger.
However, this past week isn’t the only time the CCSS Machine has used Congress to churn out fodder. Since the last recess began, Ed/Workforce has zipped out many such press releases. I’ve dug through those and shown you the fallacies. I’ll include them in the Related Resource section below.

The ‘Success’ Emails:

A quadruple spun set of Ed/Workforce articles began showing up in my email on Nov. 30th. The subject title? “Leadership & Results: Empowering Americans to compete in the workforce”
The email was quick to point out that under Rep. Kline’s leadership, the Committee had worked hard on the behalf of all Americans. The track record of ‘success’ begins (in the email) in 2007. It also points out the Skills Act* of 2011 where Rep. Foxx was a key player. (Look for my Skills Act article below in Related Resources.) The email ends with the terrific news about WIOA becoming law. No where in the email does it state Rep. Foxx was set to become the new chair for Ed/Workforce.
*Skills Act (2013) stands for: “The Supporting Knowledge and Investing in Lifelong Skills Act”
It was also Rep. Foxx’s ‘baby’. (In Monday’s article, we’ll look closely at her education stance.)

The bottom line? American education had already begun its shift to becoming a workforce based education well before 2007, the Skills Act.

The next Ed/Workforce email was also dated 11/30/16. It’s subject line? “Leadership & Results Part 2: Helping every child receive an excellent education”
Right away, the red flag was the same introduction as the first. How hard Ed/Workforce had worked to represent the citizens of America. Another red flag? The ‘lifelong learning’ educratic phrase is code for ‘birth to grave’ streamlined education* (look for “Local Schools Open for WIOA in ‘Related Resources’). This email was all about how ‘local’ ESSA is going to make American education.

The bottom line? No American citizen truly desires ‘success’ at the price our government expects our education system to cough up.

Ed/Workforce’s third email (dated 12/1/16) focused on child safety via Neighborhood Development Block Grants. The subject line stated it this way, “Leadership & Results Part 3: Protecting the nation’s most vulnerable”This will most definitely continue to tie education to the U.S. Dept. of HHS (Health and Human Services). In ‘Related Resources’ look for  the “Sure Fire Disaster” article.

Lastly, the series of ‘success’ emails showed up on Dec. 2nd. It’s subject line, “Leadership & Results Part 4: Making it easier for students to pursue higher education”. This email touted the “Bipartisan Student Loan Certainty Act of 2013”. Warriors, while I have not studied this Law, I can tell you what I do know about higher education when it comes to the federal overreaches. Look in ‘Related Resources’ for them.

America’s Obsession

In the past week or so, you have been able to learn about the Congressional obsession to ensure our nation has all the adult versions of Common Core, (called CTE, or Career Tech Education) we can stand. CTE goes by several other names and can be found in STEM, as well.

Last Wednesday, Women on the Wall featured what I had uncovered about S 3271 (Advance Workforce Act) and the HR 5587 (Strengthening Career Tech Education for the 21st Century). Both are to reauthorize the Carl Perkins Act of 2006.

Then, 2 days ago, I shared with you how S 3190 (Strengthening Our Rural Health Workforce Act of 2016) is going to not only align health care to CTE (thus Common Core and STEM), it’s going to join other health care laws to it! See:

There have been several national articles featuring the news about S 3271 and  HR 5587 since all this. We need to have just as much national attention on S 3190, as well..maybe even more attention. Why? Our health care system will directly impact millions. Think about the ramifications of it being aligned to the CCSS Machine!

Warriors, Congress is on recess right now (they will be back in D.C. and in session on 9/6/16). We MUST mount the horses of truth NOW and charge!

But, Wait, I Found More!

To prove my statement about the obsession D.C. has with CTE, consider the OTHER evidence below:

Just before Congress took their recess, several members decided to pledge their devotion (and thus will guide their districts) to CTE and all related.
House of Reps:
7/13/16, Rep. Foxx (NC) had these ‘fine’ words to say, “[There] is an unnecessary stigma attached to career and technical education. It’s too often referred to as the “other” track, with the incorrect implication that it’s the path individuals take if they won’t be able to handle the rigors of college. In reality, students who pursue CTE complete a diverse curriculum where they learn important skills for succeeding in the workplace such as problem-solving, research, time management and critical thinking
We need to shift our perspective away from the idea that every student must attend an expansive and expensive four-year program to succeed in the workforce. Educational success is about more than just a degree. It’s about quantifiable skills that employers need in their employees.”

(*Note: This is not the first time I have shared Foxx’s love of an aligned workforce with you, so it should be no surprise to hear her, once again, wax lovingly about it.)

8/11/16, Gov. Pence (IN), also the current Republican Vice Presidential candidate,
shared his love and obsession for CTE back in Feb. 2015. The House’s Ed and Workforce Committee is using that testimony to promote CTE legislation as a ‘bipartisan’ effort and subsequent successes. Here is a small portion of Gov. Pence’s testimony, “[We] cannot forget that a critical goal of our educational system is to enable students to succeed in a 21st century economy and to ensure that students are prepared for college and careers. For some students, this means a four-year college degree. While completing college is a goal which we need more students to attain, going directly into a career may prove the better option for many others.
This is not about a Plan A and a Plan B. This is about two Plan A’s. For those students who are not bound for the traditional four-year college, we must still ensure that they can thrive in their future careers, and one way to do this is to again make career and technical education a priority.”

The U.S. Senate:

Remember, Warriors, this is a D.C. obsession not immune to one Chamber of Congress. So what are our Senators spreading about CTE?

Just before recess went into effect there was another Workforce, CTE related piece of legislation. This one is S 3174 (called the LADDER Act). What will ‘Ladder’ do? Establish an independent Inter-agency Council for Workforce in our Executive Branch of government!

Here’s the bottom line for YG, “You’ll see how students have a limited time after either graduation or their last job to get on one of 3 tracks. They can choose, apprenticeships, training workshops or more education.”  The ‘American’ difference? It is targeting more citizens than our youth.

The ACTE (Association for Career and Technical Education) is one sold out CCSS Machine member organization I have shared much information with you in the past. ACTE embraced WIOA, HEA, and ESSA. ACTE loves STEM, too. The group also has a policy watch action section.  Be sure to read their thoughts on the 2016 General Elections, especially for Congress. Here is an excerpt you MUST share! “While the next president will set the policy agenda, Congress still makes the laws and controls the budget. In recent years, the House and Senate passed major education and workforce development legislation, including the Every Student Succeeds Act and Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act. With the upcoming re-authorization of several important pieces of legislation including the Perkins Act and Higher Education Act, as well as the continued threat of budget austerity in federal CTE funding, the battle for control of the 115th Congress will significantly impact the future of CTE policy.”

The Poisonous Love Bites:

Warriors,  each of our States has been bitten by the CCSS Machine’s CTE Love. We see celebrities touting the need for training workforce, we see our legislators fawning over trained workers for their State’s economy worse than nature during mating season, we have watched as our President has led initiatives to use school counselors to ‘win’ over more students for aligned career tracks, and so much more. How is the ‘love’ spread? Money with strings. Agenda with promises. Sold out citizens in key places hell-bent on reshaping our nation to no longer be the “land of the free/home of the brave”, but to be the ‘land of the controllers/home of the enslaved’.

Warrior’s Actions:

1) All of these Bills (in the 3 articles) have been introduced and are in Committees until Congress reconvenes Sept. 6, 2016.
2) All of these Bills are purposed moves by the CCSS Machine. The private parts of the Machine are influencing the public parts of the Machine to make all the alignment efforts complete.
3) We can work together to influence the Congress members to halt all these Bills!
4) We MUST act quickly and with accuracy.
5) Women on the Wall is currently working on resources for  our anti CCSS Warrior influence for maximum impact.
