Using ‘Crisis’ To Drive Agenda

Anti Fed Ed Warriors, I do believe our current Congress has reached an all-time low with the pair of federal derived education bills, S 1421 and HR 3828.

Both are titled the Patsy T. Mink Gender Equity in Education Act. Both claim the purpose of the legislation is to protect citizens from sexual inequality. But, what if, hidden in plain sight of these 2 bills is an agenda for aligned education? The savior for protecting us? STEM (as in Science, Technology, Engineering, and, Math)!!

Personal note: I am in no way advocating sexual inequality nor do I promote sexual harassment. However, if we are to have important legislation protecting our citizens could we POSSIBLY leave the UN’s (and CCSS Machine’s) STEM out of it?!

Make NO mistake: it has been a calculated plan for STEM and Common Core to be directly related.

The Legislation:
S 1421’s
HR 3828’s
(*Note: The Senate’s version was introduced in June 2017; the House’s in Sept. 2017. Both are in their respective Education and Labor Committees.)

The Lady:

Warriors, if you are not sure who Patsy T. Mink was, she was a very important leader from HI. She is basically the mother of Title 9. When Title 9 was much younger, it was created so that women and girls would have equal access to sports.
It’s only been in recent years that Title 9 has been reworded to NOW cover anyone who feels sexually left out of education.

Mrs. Mink was also key in President Johnson’s Great Society legislative campaign. She served twice on the U.S. House’s Education and Workforce Committee, helped begin Head Start and, so much more. (*Note: it was President Johnson who ‘gave’ us the original ESEA (Elementary and Secondary Education Act) now ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act)

Sadly, though, Warriors, Head Start has been CCSS aligned for a while. The Education and Workforce Committee is a ‘lock, stock, and, barrel’ member of the CCSS Machine.

As far as the ‘Great Society’, we see those ties are being used for much of the social justice movement, also a key part of the CCSS Machine AND UN’s SDGs (United Nations Sustainable Development Goals) agenda. STEM, is a direct product to help drive education to these social justice ends.

The Language:

Warriors, the entire purpose of these twin Bills is this:
“To support educational entities in fully implementing title IX and reducing
and preventing sex discrimination in all areas of education.”
Sadly, it takes 24 pages to explain what the ‘support’ means.

On Page 2 of the Senate’s Bill version, you’ll see the National Women’s Law Center is mentioned. NWLC has helped former President Obama’s data mining pay scale initiative to get off the ground. They’ve also helped wage a major educational disparities campaign (again with the work and support of the White House).

The NWLC also has successfully forced in-depth and precisely detailed ‘student data rape’ to continue. Why? The more details the more we can level the playing field.

If the NWLC would look at the massive data mining in this way (as many of those of us in the War Vs the Core) they may realize just how serious accessing private student information is.

Did you know the NWLC also was key in getting Early Head Start and Head Start funds in ESSA? Also, those community development block grants which will fund the 21st Century Community Learning Centers, Promise Neighborhoods, and, more?

These were all also mandated in ESSA.

The last NWLC item we Warriors need to know is that they are funded by some of the biggest CCSS Machine members. The truth can be seen beginning on Page 18 of their last Annual Report.

On Page 3 of S 1421, another group is mentioned: The American Association of University Women. According to AAUW’s last Annual Report,  they regularly fund STEM programs at local levels! From their website, you can find CCSS Machine corporate partners.

Warriors, how many times do we have to find out that our Congress is listening to the big bucks, not the everyday citizens?!

While S 1421 and HR 3828 are exact copies, what can we see embedded from the House’s copy?
Page 3 “STEM Pipeline” used to describe the workforce aligned shift. (Scroll back up to what this really means)
Page 4, NSF (National Science Foundation), again more CCSS Machine/UN endorsed agenda skewing the truth.
Page 4, The Gay Lesbian Straight Education Network’s Report information is used as justification. The GLSEN is also heavily back by key CCSS Machine member groups (for example: Wells Fargo, the Walt Disney Company, Target, and, many others)

Corporations tied to CCSS do NOT represent the people’s voice.

More Fed Ed Power:

Warriors, the Equity Act being considered in DC hasn’t seen much action that We the People have been made aware of, but, before we assume this type of action will go away, we need to consider that any of the DC bills I’ve been studying could be rolled out anytime now..or, in the future. We’ve seen it happen way too many times in the past.

We also need to consider that embedded in BOTH bills is room for more federal funding to dictate what happens at State and local levels in education; that the Dept of Education will expand to ensure ‘equity’ is achieved. This will show up in anti-bullying, ‘safe schools’, and other ‘wrap around’ services. Every single one of these were mandated in ESSA using Title 1 funds. However, other Title funds would now be COMBINED to align learning to, not an equity-like level, but to a ‘one-way-to-learn-so-you-can-earn system’.

Back in 2016, I revealed to you the Gender Intelligence going on in education. It’s tied to Pearson Publishing, the Clinton Global Initiative, the STEM of the UN, and, more! (*Note: Mrs. Mink was also a part of President Clinton’s team.)

Warriors, these tactics are directly taken from the UN-inspired SDG Toolkit created in the US back in the early 2000s. I’ve shared this Toolkit many times.

We need to understand that S 1241 and HR 3828 use ‘equity’. Both use ‘equality’. We’ve seen how the two are NOT the same, do not mean the same, and, should not be interchangeably used! Yet, bill after bill from the federal level continues to use double speak.
If you want to know WHY there’s an especially great level of misinformation with ‘equity’ and ‘equality’? My 2014 article will give you a fantastic place to look. (*Note: just in case the link embedded in that archive doesn’t work, here it is again.)

How Much More?

Hello Warriors,

We’ve got several federal level bills, as always, which seem to want to take all we’ve got and even more! As taxpayers, our burdens are quite large. Add to that HOW our tax dollars are used, and we get a boat load of agenda! It doesn’t seem to matter if that agenda is to our liking or not. Once D.C. has got it in its ‘head’, we’ve stuck with the account statement!

What does THIS have to do with education?? PLENTY!

Why The Taxpayers Need To Know:

During this past work week, while knee deep in researching, I was able to help draw attention to some big DC bills. We’re not only expected to pick up DC’s tab, we’re supposed to sit by and watch those dollars be used against our students! If you have followed my research for a long time, you know this will NOT be tolerated. First, off it invades our children’s freedom. Then, let’s talk about their civil right to privacy.

Between ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act), WIOA (Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act), and every OTHER law which is related to BOTH (for example: HEA, Higher Education Act), our students will be conformed to fit a business pattern (ESSA’s mandates for workforce aligned education) where their every move is tracked (data mined).

While I’ve been speaking out about the bills, I’ve also been sharing with everyone HOW they can help END this cycle of data mining for an educated workforce. That is by joining the grassroots efforts of http://www.childabuseintheclassroom.com

The two pronged goal of @CAintheCR is 1) Repealing ESSA AND 2) Restoring FERPA. Both of these will help end the cycle.

By our being aware of how ESSA, WIOA, and, HEA are funded, we can also help raise awareness about 1) what our government is setting our students up for, and, 2) knowing how our tax dollars are (or aren’t) being used with OUR representation.

The “Biggies” Right Now:
*NOTE: Both HR 3358 and S 1771 ONLY address the appropriations for the U.S. Dept. of Labor, the U.S. Dept. of Health and Human Services, and the U.S. Dept. of Education. The fact Congress has lumped the 3 US Depts. together in appropriations is not out of convenience, it’s a strategy to help combine WIOA, ESSA, and HEA, along with all the related agencies, contracts, agreements, and strings.

First on our watch list need to the be the House and Senate versions of the FY 2018. House’s is HR 3358. Senate’s is S 1771. Both are very wordy. Both are loaded with trillions of dollars that the majority of will come from our pockets. Both will have massive amounts of those dollars earmarked for the alignment of education to workforce ‘needs’ and data mining to ensure it all happens.

However, we also need to have these following bills in mind. Why? They, too, will extend the ESSA/WIOA/HEA implementation of workforce geared, skill-based education. All these bills and funds will also be used to help wipe out true academics, school choices; bump up assessments for competency levels, and so much more.

THOSE bills? H Concurred Resolution 71 (sets FY 2018 and earmarks FY 2019-2027 funds) is 126 pages. It shows the funding for each House Committee by fiscal year;
S Concurred Bill 3 (earmarks FY 2018-2026 funds) is simply a record of agreement with the House on appropriations; and,
S Resolution 62 (funds all the Senate Committees for FY 2017 through Feb. 28, 2019)

Let me share briefly on H 3358 and S 1771, here. I will be covering the 3 above in my video presentation where I will dive further into ALL the bills listed in this article.
When will that presentation be aired? As soon as I can record it, Warriors!

Most noteworthy on HR 3358 are Pages 71 and 101. However, I was able to track down many OTHER connecting dots among the rest of the bill. For content purposes, I’ll only bring up the 2 pages. IF you’d like to know what other dangers I have uncovered, PLEASE do not hesitate to let me know. Each one somehow and in some way connect to ESSA’s plan for workforce shifts in education and/or the continued assault on FERPA’s data mining.

Page 71 is among the many pages devoted to the U.S. Dept. of HHS. On this page you’ll see the plethora of programs mentioned: “..under SSA (Social Security Act) $1.7 billion to be used for children and family services.” Also, on Page 71, $11 billion to the HHS. Among the programs for the $11 billion? Head Start (Early Head Start gets $650 million, on page 73), ESSA, Community Service Development Block Grants (CSDBGs), and several other programs. The CSDBGs may not sound like a problem, but ESSA uses them for Promise Neighborhoods and 21st Century Community Learning Centers. ESSA also uses/abuses Head Start and Early Head Start.

Page 101 is among the pages devoted to the U.S. Dept of Education. Below is a screen shot of my notes for you. I’ll explain after you view the picture.

Warriors, what you are looking at is a $15 billion dollar diagram of all the places it is to be divided per ESEA (Elementary and Secondary Education Act). That’s right HR3358 didn’t refer to any education funding per ESSA, no, it identified all the funds as for ESEA. If you’ll notice, it was HHS which got ESSA funds.

As far as the educational alignment and damage in S 1771, it is almost a mirror image of the House’s version. One notable exception is seen below:

Warriors, remember, ESSA embedded WIOA several times, especially on Page 17 of ESSA where ALL education must be aligned (means ‘learned’ and ‘taught’) to WIOA’s post-secondary readiness NOT academic knowledge.

Also a bit different from the House’s version, but just as damaging is Page 121 of S 1771:

Warriors, again, MORE data mining alignment on our students! Along with all those local, state, and national levels of data sharing, you can bet there are countless other agencies, P3s (public private partnerships), vendors, and nations receiving the data as well.

Warriors, from the way I see the research stacking up, there is NO better time to speak up about the taxpayer misuse than NOW! There is NO better grassroots campaign to END the FERPA’s overreach of data mining. There is NO better time to join the fight to REPEAL ESSA! We CAN halt the social and emotional learning that tie ESSA and FERPA  around the necks of our children like a millstone.

We CAN interrupt the massive data mining cycle which continues to assault our rights to freedom and privacy. We DO NOT have to take this type of abuse from our leaders.

Join me for my live presentation (either in person or in an archive version). Learn all the other ways the Congressional bills are laying a trap for educational high-jacking in the name of ‘greatness’ and economic gain.

Lastly, join with me and the other national leaders of “Child Abuse in the Classroom”. Together we can have the damaging reform disrupted.

Is There Anything Else?

Years ago, I remember hearing Robin Williams rattle off a routine about the future of his (then very young) children. In a mere matter of seconds he vacillated between their college graduation, great success, OR as a worker at the burger joint down the street, saying “You want fries with that?”.

As we know, all parents have big hopes and dreams that regardless of WHERE our children become a success, as long as it is THEIR success. Success SHOULD NOT mean it’s only applicable when you graduate college and get the big fancy house with the fat paycheck. Successful people throughout history have often been dirt poor or middle income.

The CCSS Machine is stopping at NOTHING to ensure our children have almost NO success whatsoever…except what the Machine is willing to dole out to them.
After this past week’s digging into the agenda moves behind the “I Just Sued the School System” and “The Thinning” (believe me, I am not done with either yet, but more on that in a day or so.), I have about had my fill of the depths of deception the CCSS Machine is going to make ‘blastedly’ sure NO child (regardless of age) will succeed at his or her own pace.

Meet the Young Math Corps:

Actually that is not really their name, but it might as well be. Why do I say this? Look at the screen shot:

The REAL name of the program I am pointing out is known as “The Young People’s Project Math Literacy Workers (YPP’s MLWs)”. If you need to enlarge the picture, please do.

You can access the YPP’s MLWs site: http://www.typp.org/
To see how Civil Rights Activist Bob Moses got involved: http://www.typp.org/typp_20

Before we proceed, I am stating for the record, my ‘axe to grind’ is not with Civil Rights. As always, it is the CCSS Machine. What I want to know, as do you, how involved is the CCSS Machine in a program like this?

We all know tutors are great! Many successful people have had tutors in their lives. However, with the age of this program, the amount of time our educational system has been reduced to what we have today, I wonder how much MORE damage to ALL involved when ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act) is fully and finally locked in.

Bits And Pieces Of  The MLWs Program:

So, how does the Math Literacy Program work? What math curriculum is used? Is this nation-wide? I will answer each, but not in order.

The curriculum is John Dewey and Lawrence Cremin based. I found this in the 2001 publication “Mathematics, Numeracy,  and Democracy: The Case for Quantitative Literacy”
I am pausing here because if I don’t say it, I will burst…America is NOT a democracy! UGH!! Moving on now, this paper was prepared by the National Council on Education and the Disciplines (NCED). NCED is a part of the Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship Foundation. What you see below is from the opening pages of the over 140 page document.

The Board of Trustees include representatives of CCSS Machine member groups: Blackboard, GSV, Global Education Learning, The Hunt Institute, and Dream Box Learning. There are others you may be able to spot, too. Access: http://woodrow.org/about/board-of-trustees/

Since the Woodrow Wilson Foundation is dedicating itself to K-16 education, you know not only will ESSA be a factor in what they have influence with, but the HEA (Higher Education Act) and the WIOA (Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act) will also be included. If you’d like to see their ‘researched’ publications where you will see the U.S. Senate HELP Committee among the topics, http://woodrow.org/news/publications/

As far as the over 140 page document, be sure you look at the Table of Contents. I especially am pointing you to the section titled “Numerical Common Sense for All”, page 61.
Access the Document: 8952_mathanddemocracy2

You’ll also be interested in seeing the curriculum for MLW are NCs (Neighborhood Circles). The NCs are a product of the Lawrence CommunityWorks. The linked document MLW has is from 2007. Almost immediately, you will see that the best start to globalization begins in your neighborhood. You REALLY need to see/read this dated, but still used, plan. 0155_neighborcircles (*Note: back in 2010, Lawrence,MA did receive a Promise Neighborhood grant. See: http://www.ed.gov/news/press-releases/us-department-education-awards-promise-neighborhoods-planning-grants) Promise Neighborhoods are now codified in ESSA.

You’ll also need to see how the NSF (National Science Foundation) is involved in the MLW curriculum. I especially despise the NSF for their access to huge government funds as well as their use of those funds to churn out as much CCSS/STEM rhetoric as humanly possible. If you are not sure how toxic the NSF involvement in education is, please, search for them among my archives. What they do and have access to is truly worth knowing. Below is a screen shot of the SCRATCH curriculum.

Embedded in the SCRATCH curriculum is a video with Chris Bosch, Bill Gates and others. When you go to the video link, you will see a website address of ‘code.org’.

Here’s the video, try not to scream when you see the ‘Who’s Who’ among the ‘stars’:

To see the rest of the SCRATCH7874_ypp-itestcurriculum-introtoscratch

The MLWs (Math Literacy Workers) must have training, complete community wide events which include STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Math). To see what else they need to do: http://www.typp.org/programs

If you’ve not see my research on tying STEM and STEAM to the CCSS Machine:
a) https://commoncorediva.wordpress.com/2015/05/27/wybi-stem-to-steam-ties-to-common-core-pt-1/
b) https://commoncorediva.wordpress.com/2015/05/28/tech-thursday-pt-2-stem-to-steams-ties-to-common-core/
c) https://commoncorediva.wordpress.com/2015/05/29/friday-special-post-part-3-stem-to-steam-ties-to-ccss/

The last question, which we’ve not answered yet is, is all this national? Yes.
The Young People’s Project (YPP) is an outgrowth of the Algebra Project, “a national mathematics literacy effort aimed at helping low income students and students of color successfully acquire mathematical skills that are a prerequisite for a college preparatory mathematics sequence in high school and full citizenship in today’s technological society.”

Partners of the Young People’s Project include the Kellogg Foundation, a well known CCSS member organization. There are plenty of other partners. See: http://www.typp.org/our_valued_partners

So, Warriors, you tell me…is there anything else for our students of all ages?

The Education Road

Greetings, my fellow anti CCSS/ESSA/Fed Led Ed Warriors! What happens when education reform meets P3 (public private partnerships)/ ESSA, CCSS Machine funding dollars AND involves a bus?!

The  education (with its agenda and all)  comes to your neighborhood for students AND their families!

The Mobile Move:

Seen recently, was this headline, “Mobile Recreation Unit Builds Bonds in a Fun Way”.
See the article: http://www.charlotteobserver.com/news/local/community/lake-norman-mooresville/article93901902.html

*Note: be sure to watch the embedded video. Listen for the ‘expanded learning opportunities for the community’. Note also, the assistance for this comes from community agencies. Why do this even bear paying attention to? The ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act) gives your SEAs (State Education Agencies) and your LEAs (Local Education Agencies) more power to use in approving community agencies in the name of ‘student outcomes’ and/or ‘student achievement’.

So, our next questions should be, what entities are involved in ‘expanded learning opportunities’ for students and their families? What do they look like and HOW does all this really point back to the CCSS Machine?

The Entities In My Town:

1) Mooresville Cultural and Recreation Services (MCRS), according to the article the Staff at the MCRS works hard to build P3 relationships. Why? To help the ‘economically challenged’ students/families. While the concept is noble and great, knowing that in the ESSA are mandates for “expanding learning opportunities” in ways which will involve our entire community’s alignment is troublesome. Knowing also, how much of ESSA is written to target ‘at-risk’ or ‘low-income students’ is also worth being on our radars. The last ESSA concern I saw in the article? The ‘driving the students home’. ESSA covers that expense with our taxpayer dollars.

What other community locations are under the MCRS? Our public library, a public golf course, and our citizen center in downtown. How can I tie this back to the CCSS Machine? The public library! (See: https://commoncorediva.wordpress.com/2016/07/03/hitting-the-books-part-2/); Part One is embedded as a link. You can see the libraries are not only part of the CCSS Machine, but to Common Core,  Career Tech Education, College and Career Readiness, community alignment, and the ESSA, WIOA, and the HEA. (WIOA: Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act; HEA: Higher Education Act)

2) The City Government is a natural partner. How? The Recreation Dept. is part of our city’s government. Cities receive federal and state money all the time.

Look at the opportunities connected with ESSA from the City Government’s Rec. Dept. document.Mooresville
From Page 5 of the “Master Plan” you can find out how tax subsidies offset some of the Recreation Dept.’s cost. You can also find the current Rec. Dept. Partners, “SPONSORS / PARTNERS Currently, the Department has multiple partners such as the Mooresville’s Police and Fire Departments, Christian Mission, I-Care, Benchwarmers, Imagine Music Group, Mooresville Grade School, etc. A majority of the partners have formal agreements with the Department that help raise money, provide their services and/or spaces for programs and events, cover program cost, etc. ” (*Note: Page 6 will show you how “Crowd Funding” is also being used to cover costs.)

What else will the “Master Plan” reveal in its 153 pages?
* You will find the educratic buzzwords of ‘inclusion’, ‘equity’, ‘stakeholders’; you will see the surveys where the citizens voiced where they wanted their tax dollars focused on (that’s weird, I do not recall getting a survey like this and I pay taxes here);
* You will see lots of data (includes the U.S. Census) and graphs used to support the moves; you’ll see the increased push for social and economic equality;
* You’ll see how Mooresville has a goal for being a “Gold Medal” City*, as well as a few other items. (*Note: A “Gold Medal City” is the award given to any size community by the National Parks and Recreation Association (NPRA)

You can learn more about the NPRA’s Gold Medal for Excellence Program:

Briefly: NPRA is a national, not-for-profit organization. Some of the same CCSS Machine member organizations also partner with the NPRA.) Look below at what I found in their “Strategic Plan”

Here are the CCSS Machine member organizations funding the NPRA:

Just think, my place of residence is clamoring to be a ‘Gold Medal City’….

Before we move on, it is important to note that the use of educratic buzzwords is most effective when applied to the pseudo-educational ways the CCSS Machine and ESSA are supporting.

For the Warrior Number Crunchers:

So since I am a resident of Mooresville, pay taxes, and OPPOSE the CCSS Machine, where are my dollars going? Has anyone considered how the education reform is the modern day “TAXATION WITHOUT REPRESENTATION”?! Directly related to the article, is the below image.

For our 2017 City Budget, just under  $99 million is being reported by the official Mooresville City Government website. ($98,929,412.00 to be exact). Included in the big bucks are not only the funds to continue the Rec.Departments, the schools, and all the places they intersect, but the Community Development Grants. These grants are top-down funded, AND fit right into the ESSA’s mandates for 21st Century Community Learning Centers, Promise Neighborhoods, PreK Development, and more. Community Development projects can also be under other names like ‘Capital Improvement Projects'( CIPs).

Where Warriors Need to Look in Your Area:

*1:  Use what I have found in my town as an example to look in your town.

2:  CIPs are a key place to look for more ‘hiding-in-plain-sight’ CCSS Machine/ESSA ties. Why? Any public space or service receives these funds.

*3: You’ll also want to see how much of the FEMA funding your town receives. FEMA is a key part of the Agenda 21/UN (United Nations) portion of the CCSS Machine.

*4:  Look at groups like the FFYF (First Five Years Fund). From birth to age 5 education  is also embedded in the ESSA. Birth to 5 will also encompass in home visits in your communities.
See the agenda and support FFYR gives ESSA: http://ffyf.org/our-focus/every-student-succeeds-act-essa/

*5:  Look at the Head Start or Early Head Start Programs in your area. I exposed these:

*6: What plans does your town/city/area have for 21st Century Community Learning Centers, after school programs, or related family wrap-around services? Here is what the National After School Alliance has  on ESSA’s mandates (*Note: the use of ‘expanded learning opportunities’ is seen):

*7:  What Digital upgrades are you seeing in your area? Just down the road, in Charlotte, NC is the headline making news of the Google Fiber system being completed. Commercials sell it as everyone will be more connected/have better and faster internet. What the commercials are leaving out is how Charlotte is considered a leader in the nation for “Smart Cities”*, that Google is part of the CCSS Machine, or the fact that digital and technology upgrades are mandates of ESSA. No, it is being used as a ‘hiding-in-plain-sight’ tactic.
a) To understand the NC STEM Affinity Network (check in your state for yours) and how it ties to the CCSS Machine AND ESSA/WIOA/HEA. Also note how STEM is being used on the early learners.:

Warriors, what other CCSS Machine items are ‘hiding’ in your area? What alignment to ESSA are you already seeing that is turning out to be much more negative than we were told it would be? What foundations are being laid to align entire areas to the infrastructure ESSA needs to survive? The efforts are there, we MUST expose them. We must not read an article in a weekly paper and take it at face value. Why? Look at the tangled CCSS/ESSA trail I found just from a short newspaper article and a short video.

Inadequacy Breeders

What every US citizen said they always wanted… NOT!

Anti CCSS/ESSA and Fed Ed Warriors, schools are beginning to open for the new year (2016-17). We are beginning to see the first tentacles of the ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act)  reach down from the national level to the state and local levels.

Much of it will NOT use the phrase “Common Core State Standards”, but instead “College and Career Readiness”. We have been alerted to this fact well before now. However, how is the CCSS Machine spinning the ‘newness’ of the same old agenda?! That by conducting education any way BUT the ESSA way, is to “breed inadequacy”.

From ‘Their’ Files:

According to the CCSS Machine member organization “Getting Smart”, by 2020, 65% of all jobs will require post-secondary education.

From the notorious “Foundation for Excellence in Education” (FEE), here is their take on ‘inadequate’ students:

FEE also has a short video to support how inadequate education before CCSS was and how heavy the changes for CCR (via STEM, dual enrollment, AP and IB courses, and CLEP exams (College Level Examination Program)).

Every one of these ties in some way to not only CCR (College and Career Readiness) but can be found in the ESSA, the WIOA (Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act) and the HEA (Higher Education Act) as well.

The sheer fact that FEE is using the ACT, Inc. assessment as one of its OTHER solutions for College and Career Readiness is also a clue for us. How? Act, Inc. owns “WorkKeys” assessments. “WorkKeys” is the Competency Based Education, Career Pathways test which sets the course for what job your students should not only be trained for, but educated in! Those CLEP assessments? Those are owned by the College Board, Inc., yet another CCSS Machine key member organization.

Here is the video:

While FEE is using Florida as an example in the video, their influence is felt in all 50 States. FEE is not only fully supportive of the ESSA, but is pledging to help each State navigate its way through the implementation process. Here is just one of the ways FEE can support your State, “Identifying ways that new federal funds can support state reforms in areas including K-3 reading, college and career readiness and digital learning.”

Awww, Warriors, aren’t we ‘honored’ to have such bias help?! (I am being 100% sarcastic here).

Let’s look at the statement above from the Warrior’s side.
a) To be truly State led (as ESSA was sold to the nation), why would we need a national group’s help in making decisions?
b) Does the FEE and other CCSS Machine organizations just assume the States are too stupid to identify funding for themselves?
c) The 3 targets FEE is offering support on are some of the biggest bullet points in ESSA. Digital Learning will be at least $849 million for the States.  Where will the objectivity come from? Where will the objective research be allowed to surface? (*Note: FEE cannot be objective on this topic. How do I know? Check out their Initiative called “Digital Learning Now”, http://www.digitallearningnow.com/)

In case you would like to see how FEE commented publicly on the ESSA Proposed Regulations (all public comments are closed as of 8/1/16):

Digital Learning Now:

As mentioned above, this is an initiative project of FEE’s but it is not solely FEE’s.
Read this excerpt about the history of the project, Governors Jeb Bush(FL) and Bob Wise (WV) convened the Digital Learning Council in August 2010 to develop the roadmap to integrate current and future technological innovations into public education.”

So who is on the DLC (Digital Learning Council)?

Among other CCSS Machine/ESSA Supporter groups in the DLC:
Microsoft, the Center for Education Reform, Apple, Pearson Publishing, Connections Academy (an arm of Pearson Publishing), Data Quality Campaign, The Hewlett Foundation, The Carnegie Foundation, ETS (Educational Testing Services, associated with AIR, Inc. (American Institutes for Research), The Fordham Foundation, SchoolNet, Nat’l Assoc. for Charter School Authorizers, the U.S. Dept. of Education, and a few State Senate bodies. If you would like to see the other DLC Initiatives:
http://www.digitallearningnow.com/initiatives/ (*Note: among them is the E-Rate Legislation. I exposed the ties to the CCSS Machine and the E-Rate: http://preventcommoncore.com/?p=1223; How does E-Rate fit in the ESSA? Remember the $849 million mentioned above? Not only will portions of that go to State for Technology updates, other tax money will be used to update entire infrastructures of regions, cities, and States for the 24/7, Open Educational Resource access to ALL learning connected resources. How? In the name of ‘student achievement’.)

Find out if your State has received any Digital Learning Grants recently. For example, this one from 2014 from Indiana:

What new laws or older laws undergoing a rewrite to fit Digital Learning are there in your State? For example, the NC DPI, has a list of legislation. See:

What State affiliated Colleges, Universities, and/or related post-secondary educational institutions are involved in the Digital Plans? For example, the NC State University’s Friday Center (both NC State and the Friday Center are ‘banner’ CCSS Machine members) produced this detailed Digital plan in 2015: http://ncdlplan.fi.ncsu.edu/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/NC-Digital-Learning-Detailed-Plan-9-14-15.pdf

So, the better question (anti Fed Ed/ESSA/CCSS Warrior) should be: what CCSS Machine members are breeding inadequate education?

Making Sense

Anti CCSS/Fed Ed Warriors, the last article I shared with you stated that I would be delving into the recently released U.S. Dept. of Ed State Accountability Goals even further. That is a project that is keeping me busy.

However, in the meantime, I want to share some evidence that is helping make sense out of the steps being taken right under our noses to implement ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act). If you have been a long time follower of my blog, you know that this seemingly innocent statement is, in fact, a loaded message. How so?  For the ESSA to be FULLY implemented as it was written (a fist-pounding declaration by Sen. Lamar Alexander upon ESSA’s passage and Dr. John King’s confirmation), current or old laws must be changed or new laws written; entire communities must have wrap around services in place; and those accountability measures MUST be adhered to.

While the CCSS Machine is quickly spewing out the charts, graphs, summaries, reports, webinars, social media pieces enticing us with all the ‘local control’, we MUST remember one fact about ESSA that is being either glossed over or not included:

The Dept. of Education’s Secretary MUST approve each and every State Academic Plan BEFORE the States can begin using them.

So, the questions to date I have (and I am sure you may have them as well):
1) How can the Feds claim States have local say in their plans when the Proposed Rules for State Goals are over 190 pages?
2) How can the States have local plans when there is evidence of CCSS Machine produced State Decision Making Guides? ( I shared with you how I found evidence of this here in NC. See: https://commoncorediva.wordpress.com/2016/05/14/up-and-coming/ )

If you don’t have time to read the Up and Coming article, here is a screen shot to prove I have CCSS Machine evidence to coach the States:

How the States Must Account for Education:

Part One:
As far as the ‘Accountability’ factor for States? See the screen shot below:

The chart you see above is from the U.S. Dept. of Education and is included in their recent press release to try to ‘snow’ us on how great ESSA for the States is.

To see my article tying HEA (Higher Education Act), WIOA (Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act), STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math),  CTE (Career Tech Ed) to ESSAhttps://commoncorediva.wordpress.com/2015/12/05/weekend-news-essas-untold-ties-to-hea/
(*Note: ESSA and specific page numbers are given, as well as other resources of proof)

As an added resource, use my School Board Special Series, where you get specific page numbers for every educational choice; community entanglement; P3 (Public Private Partnership) overreach; Data mining enhancement; and more!
Part One: https://commoncorediva.wordpress.com/2016/01/23/the-school-board-special-part-one/ (shows the Total Community alignment portions of ESSA)
Part Two: https://commoncorediva.wordpress.com/2016/01/25/school-board-special-part-two/ (has the ESSA ‘Orderly Transitioning’ Clause)
Part Three: https://commoncorediva.wordpress.com/2016/01/26/school-board-special-part-three/ (points you to page 85 of ESSA’s Final Conference Report where states MUST measure and report ALL students for post-secondary readiness)
Part Four is not being shared at this time, as it has more to do with the Parts 1-3 feedback and the ESSA timeline. Right now, we need to stay focused on the ESSA and how these Accountability Rules are in need of our attention.

State Accountability, Part Two:

Below is the second screen shot of the Accountability Chart from the U.S. Dept. of Ed. It deals with entire schools being graded for success or failure. Note that the Chart is quick to give the illusion of how the shift from NCLB (No Child Left Behind) and ESSA will be for schools, but research has proven, there is not only all the measures of NCLB included in ESSA’s wording for schools, but added punitive moves have been laid out, too!

How do I know this about NCLB and ESSA? Here is an excerpt from a Feb. 2016 article I wrote about the 2017 Fed Ed Budget, “The article begins with a pretty big erroneous statement about how the ESSA passage will continue the ESEA (Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965) and its civil rights legacy. I guess the U.S. Dept. of Ed totally overlooking the NCLB (No Child Left Behind)as a continuation of the ESEA, is no big deal. Without NCLB, there would not of been theRttT (Race to the Top) which saddled all of us with CCSS in one form or another!”
If you would like to see the rest of the article:
(*Note: if you scroll to the bottom of the page and look on the left hand side, you will see the back arrow for Fed Ed Budget article #2, that will also link you to Fed Ed Budget #1. All of the articles cover ESSA and the funding the feds will use against us to implement it.)

To see how the States are being graded for College/Career Readiness (CCR) already:

To see how School Leaders and Teachers are being set up for alignment:
ESSA and Teachers Pay will also hinge on school performance/student outcomes:

Also, refer back to those 3 School Board Specials so you can make even more connections between school measurements and ESSA. Do not forget the Digital conversion aspect of schools being held as great performers or not. If you are not aware of it, ESSA has massive data mining/digital technology passages. See my articles on State ESSA and Digital Overload.
For Digital Overload: https://commoncorediva.wordpress.com/2016/02/04/essa-and-digital-overload/

For State Alignment to digital overload per ESSA:

For the U.S. Dept. of Ed’s upcoming nationwide internet access survey (so that every student across the nation has 24/7 internet access to ALL educational resources) which means an in home assessment for all, as well as the massive infrastructure costs to get all of American hooked up to the internet. This also will be used to factor in how effective our schools and teachers are:

To see the VT, NC, and TX information (as examples for what to look for in your State):
NC’s House Bill 1080:
VT’s Act #46:
TX’s Districts of Innovation (HB 1842):

States and Accountability, Part Three:

As far as ESSA ‘Accountability Resources and Interventions’ per the US Dept. of Ed. Chart:

To see an excerpt about the REAL truth about interventions and ESSA:
“The WASPs (Wrap Around Service Programs): Unlike the nuts we’ve crunched so far, the WASPs won’t be inside the nuts, they will, however, be close by the nuts. This will be another huge part of the ESSA rottenness. Look for Promise Neighborhoods, 21st Century Community Learning Centers, SEL (social emotional learning) interventions, and much more. Page numbers and all the stinging news..”

As an added bonus, the CCSS Machine and the SEL (Social Emotional Learning) push ESSA will have embedded:

Warriors, are you seeing the connections which make sense about ESSA and State Accountability?!
Smoke and mirrors tactic by the U.S. Dept. of Ed!!
