Wicked Web

Anti Fed Ed Warriors, I’m so glad we are able to help each other find facts and truth main stream media leaves out.

Recently, I shared an article with you about the new UNICEF initiative called “Generation Unlimited”. Not only were you able to see how it aligns with the G20 Education Declaration, but other global overreaches.

In response, I’ve had quite a few of you reach out with more connecting dots I hadn’t even heard of. Thank you!!

double_tro_m2173526

Warriors, we know the global overreaches impact the federally led overreaches we’ve seen in education. Like the intersections of a spider web, these catch the States and local education in a trap.

Through my research, as well as others like me, we’ve been able to see the federal legislation become endorsed and embraced by several Presidents, the current one included.

We’ve also seen mountains of evidence which show the support for the CCSS Machine led take over is from BOTH major political parties (even at the State levels of government).

Again, think of the spider-web like deceptions we’ve been handed as ‘truth’.

Many of us have wondered just HOW embracing  the Trump Administration in all this educratic BS. After all, weren’t we promised by him that an end to globally (United Nations) led influence and programming was going to happen? Weren’t we told that data mining would end and that Common Core had to go?
******************************
If you’ve not read my latest article (embedded above), you didn’t see how the current DC ‘swampiness’ is STILL in education.

Although the U.S. exit from UNESCO is to take place Dec. 31st, 2018, read this statement from the United States which pledges our continued support of the initiatives, ideals, etc. of UNESCO in SPITE of our ‘exit’.

In the remainder of this article, you’ll see what I hope to be new and important information in our War Vs the Global Core.

Warrior Carol R has graciously agreed for me to share what she’s discovered about the overreaches by both (Republicans) Rs and  (Democrats) Ds:

To see how I tied not only to ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act), but also to the United Nations and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math), which is the UN’s biggest trap for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), go here.

To learn about Ajit Pai, visit here. (*Note: as we know Pai’s stance on net neutrality has proven great for the CCSS Machine member groups like Verizon.) Then consider the digital economy tied to 5G (Fifth Generation cell phone communications). That digital economy depends on STEM heavily.

Of course, the UN fully embraces all of this.

Carol also shared that the U.S. has a lot of ties to the United Nations which come through some back doors into education. Maybe you knew about these, maybe not. However, to arm you with as much information, as always, here you go:

1) U.S Congressional “Smart Cities Caucus” was ‘kicked off’ in March 2018. The ties to education? Internet activity and workforce. (Remember, ESSA embedded workforce readiness as part of the birth to death alignment in education.) More on Smart Cities from the UN’s SDG Zone can be found here.

2) Venture Smarter, a P3 (Public Private Partnership) devoted to supporting the UN’s SDGs, especially in regionalism.

To learn more about leadership of Venture Smarter, visit here. To learn about their upcoming Ohio Conference (where you’ll see the city of Cincinnati is in a 2030 District) and the sponsors (includes the U.S. Dept. of Homeland Security), go here.
To learn more about the IEEE 2017 Conference on Data Mining, my previous article will give you lots of information.

3) American Cities as UN Creative Culture hubs. That’s right, Warriors, since 2008 (Santa Fe, NM) and other cities (more recently, Paducah, KY) are tagged as collective centers for the arts. Funneled through the Visitors and tourism agencies in your town, you may find your residence in a UN designated hub.

The Arts are very much a part of the educratic shift. Especially under the UN’s SDGs. How? STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Math). The Arts are just as controlled as the workforce based education. The National Endowments for Arts and Humanities, as well the National Assoc. for Music Education (NAME) sold out years ago to the CCSS Machine.
**************************************
Think about this, Warriors: so much about the shift in education to workforce means control. Then consider that much of the shift via the CCSS Machine points to socialism, as does the UN. Being an artist should mean creativity at YOUR discretion, not the State’s. Much like living under Stalin’s rule, artists HAD to subscribe to the beliefs of the government in order to paint or dance.

********************************************

4) U. S. Ambassadors Fund for Cultural Preservation
This particular part  of the U. S. State Department (housed in the U.S. Bureau of Education and Culture) not only ties to the UNESCO via the World Heritage sites, but relies heavily on P3s. You may not recognize this Bureau, but if you’ve heard of Fulbright Scholars/Teachers, then you know part of the Bureau.

Also connected to the U.S. State Dept. is USAID. I’ve covered their ties to the CCSS Machine before. You may be interested to know that the USAID also has an Ambassador Program. It’s tied to a 5 year contract with an education NGO (non governmental organization) based out of Pakistan.

From Chris, another dedicated activist, shared this. President Trump’s national security plan embeds the SDGs from the United Nations. See the screen shots below.

usun18
Warriors, then look at this one:

damningSDG
(Source for both screen shots. Emphasis is mine.)

Warriors, let this sink in, the very President who is saying the U.S. will leave UNESCO, has woven the UN’s SDGs throughout his Security plans. As one of my dear Warrior friends compared this to : “withdrawing from UN councils while allowing UNESCO to control America’s K-12 standards, assessment and accountability policies is like allowing the pedophile down the street to watch your kids while you go to the capitol to fight porn.”

**Warriors, we must realize that several of our Presidents have aligned us to the globalization of America, not just one former one OR the current one! As I’ve urged you before, LOOK at the evidence, NOT the political party!**

usnow

President Trump’s National Security Plan:

Warriors, here’s the link to the 68 page National Security Strategy as laid out by President Trump.

Below, are the key word searches I did throughout the document. The key words were ones that show ties to the UN’s SDGs. To give you an idea of how these are woven in, use the ‘sustainability’ as an example. Like always, look for yourselves!
Sustainability is woven in 4 times. Under modernizing our military (p. 29), economics, growth and security (p. 38), business and trade; diplomacy and legislation (p. 39).
Key to all this is the Millennium Challenge Corporation.

Peace, 42 times; Poverty, twice; Education, 3 times {P. 18 ties to economy; P. 20 direct mention of STEM; and, P. 33 culture, commerce, and co-operation among nations}; Partnerships, 10 times; Water, twice; Land, 41 times; Equality, once; Food, once; Energy, 51 times; Innovation, 20 times; Technology, 20 times; Infrastructure, 32 times; Production, once; and, Communities, 12 times.

Closing:

Warriors, it’s tempting, to want to cast the evidence aside, especially when it comes to a political person we supported (or still support). We CANNOT afford to do this! As Warriors, we MUST face the fact that our leaders are NOT putting America first, therefore, they are not protecting us.

If we assume by voting by party things will improve, then we’ve become like the silk encased victims found in spider webs.

It’s also tempting to want to marginalize each other when truth like this comes out. I urge you to NOT do this!

We need each other to continue to stand up against tyranny! You love America, so do I. That is WHY we have been fighting for so long to expose and STOP this type of indoctrination via education.

The globalization of America is well under way, Warriors. Be the spider’s predator, not its prey.

Is There A Code For Alignment?

Anti Fed Ed Warriors, I know many of you will be getting ready for celebrating Thanksgiving, as I will be. However, before we all eat too much, I wanted to leave you with some things to ponder.

You see a question in the article’s title. Look below and you’ll see another one to ponder.

code4life

Warriors, as we’ve seen time and time again from the CCSS Machine and its educratic overreaches that modern education is not about the academics, or even the true critical thinking; it’s about confining a student’s life to a predisposed track based on a workforce skills assessment. So imagine my non-surprise when I received an e-mail from the NC DPI (Dept. of Public Instruction)

nccompliant

Warriors, you really should see the rest of the education related compromises. While this IS a NC Legislative Budget supposedly for public education, it crosses the lines into private education and home education by using STEM, CTE, College and Career Promise, and more. In the academic year 2018-19, funds for the Coding Grant Program will double to $800,000.00.

What if you don’t live in NC? Well, Warriors, as we’ve learned from experience, when it’s connected to the CCSS Machine, it will be in ALL the States, Territories, and military bases contained within American power.

Lies From NC:

Warriors, below is a screen shot of an interactive NC DPI Career Pathway map. Here’s the link to the map. Be sure to refresh the page to find out whatever information you’d like most to see.

While NC’s not a PARCC State, I did find this evidence of the International Morse Code inserted into 4th Grade Common Core Standards.

 About Lumos:

Lumos is located in NJ. It’s also knee-deep in 21st Century skill based learning.

lumos

To see what I’ve previously shared (2015) with you about ACT’s Aspire, go here.
To see how Aspire is part of ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act) mandates, go here.
Lumos Learning has quite a few resources where they help States with Title One funding, where they are sounding off about Pres. Trump’s impact on education, and more. Lumos Learning is a division of Lumos Information Services, LLC. I found plenty of YouTube videos for Lumos Information Services, LLC. I also tried to locate the CEO, the Board of Directors, and other related information, but very little success was had.

Back to NC’s Coding Grant Program:

NCcodegrantdoc

Warriors, what you see above is from the NC DPI’s document about the nuts and bolts behind the Coding Grant Program. Also in this document is that fact the entire Program gets off the ground in the Spring of 2018. The ‘winning schools’ will be judged on a 100 point scale as to how aligned their coding programs/partnerships are. Below, is just a portion of the judging (grading):

codedeceptionTo see the entire 9 page document: coding-and-mobile-app-grant-application

Warriors, this, of course brings about several questions.
1) What federal funds will these private coding partners receive, if any?
2) What State tax breaks will these coding partners receive?
3) What about any un-funded portions of the coding programs in schools. Will the taxpayers be expected to pick up the tab?
4) What happens if any of these schools are graded as failing?
5) What about the private schools and homeschool students utilizing NC DPI’s Virtual Public School or are involved in any early college/career programs?

Related Resources:
1) My article on the National Career Pathways Network.
2) My article from 2015 showing you CAPS from KS is still tied to the Career Pathways.
3) The ALA (American Library Assoc.) is giving $500,000.00 in coding grants. The sponsor? Google.
4) When I searched for ‘National Coding Grants’, the National Endowment of the Humanities surfaced. They sold out to the CCSS Machine long ago. Since the NEH receives federal funding, think about this: coding means technology, innovation, and, computers. Which translates to data. Data needs to be collected and studied. We also know how data collection has turned into a massive nightmare for our freedoms and privacy. We also know that the federal government is making bold steps (no matter how illegally based they are) to create MORE data mining. All this data will need deciphers. How awful it is that our students education will train them for such ill purposes. Sadly, the NEH is not alone when it comes to federally funded grants for coding or anything related.
5) When I searched for ‘STEM Coding Grants’, the first resource which popped up was the U.S. Dept. of Ed’s Office of Innovation and Improvement. Below is the screen shot of the interactive map for all the innovation (will include Race to the Top, and much more) from FY 2009 to FY 2017.

fedinnovationgrants
Source

6) To access the “STEM 2026: A Vision” from the U.S. Dept. of Education, visit the highlighted phrase.
What you see is that coding is tied to Google, United Way, and more. You’ll see what student groups are being most targeted for coding.

That brings me to ponder something else. Since ESSA was supposedly going to break down education for equality, why is the federal government working with the CCSS Machine to discriminate against students using education as the weapon?

Warriors, we know Google is hardly the lone aligner in all this coding. We also know that all this coding is meant to confine citizens.

Closing:

Warriors, as I stated earlier, this is probably not the news you want to mull over during your family time. I do thank each of you for continuing to access my blog. I wish each of you a blessed time together. Look at what is going on in your State when it comes to coding or workforce based regional partners. Find out what is going on in your schools, or if your school is in the living room, look at what extra curricular activities involve anything related to any of the coding, apprenticeships, etc.

Near or far, I wish you and your family a wonderful week.

Bees in NC’s Bonnet, Parts 1 and 2

Warriors, we are faced with all kinds of count-downs lately. Thirty-eight days until election; so many days until a new President; count-downs until our holidays, and more.

However, regardless of ALL this counting, day in/day out, our teachers, students, and families are receiving the stinging bites of the busy bee-like CCSS Machine members/groups.

It’s enough to drive us mad. I hope we are not only mad, but as aggressive in fighting back, as the CCSS Machine is cranking out their bitter poison.

As you know, NC is where my home is for now. If you’ve followed my blog long, you know the amount of CCSS Machine alignment bred here.

As far as the picture above, that’s NC’s official state insect. As bee colonies go, there’s always a queen.

Here in NC, her name is Dr. June Atkinson. She’s our State Superintendent (probably counting down the days until she hopes to be re-elected for the umpteenth time) AND the President of the CCSSO (Council of Chief State School Officers). As you well know CCSSO has made no bones about their devotion to the CCSS Machine.

Now that our nation faces a count-down to August 2017 (When all 50 States MUST have ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act) implemented), what else is in the NC CCSS apiary?

Part One:
Honey, It’s a Beehive of Deception in NC:

Recently, I was contacted by a very concerned grandparent (Grandma J) who lives west of me in Caldwell County, NC. Her concern? A conversation she had with 3 school board candidates (running for office in Nov. 2016). According to Grandma, all 3 told her that there was absolutely no Common Core in Caldwell, or in NC as a state, for that matter. That Common Core was gone. Grandma’s a Warrior, she’s invited me up to her neck of the woods several times to reveal what my anti CCSS research has found for NC, as well as our nation.

Grandma J also shared that these candidates (up for re-election) do not get to see the curriculum for their county; that they are sent papers to sign (aka: rubber stamp), told pretty much what to do, but NOT get to be a truly LOCAL Board. Well, we can thank Dr. Atkinson for that, but we’d also have to thank legislators. In the screen shot below, look at why I would say this.

Hhmmm…I’m flashing back to a 2014 NC School Board meeting in Cabarrus County (southeast of me). When I revealed credible evidence about the number of assessments truly embedded in what NC schools use, I was called a ‘lunatic’. When I challenged the school board member, what I got was ‘we do what we’re told. If Raleigh says ‘jump’, we jump. We don’t ask ‘where’, we just do it. They do tell us how to jump.’

As being a mighty Warrior, Grandma J has once again called me and asked for help. Grandma J, this is for you to share with them.

caldwell1

Since this one NC County (there are 100 in all) has it mandated to follow all federal and state regulations NOT in the current NC (Common Core) Essential State Standards, guess what this means?

That every piece of legislation already connected to NCLB, RttT, Common Core State Standards, College/Career Readiness, STEM, Career Tech Education, dual enrollment, early College Promise, AP classess, learn-to-earn apprenticeships, on-line virtual public NC Schools is LOCKED in! ESSA will only INCREASE the lock-down! WIOA (Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act) is also not only already in place in Caldwell County, NC, but nation-wide!  WIOA’s embedded in ESSA.

If you’ve traveled anywhere in NC (or in your State) and seen “One Stop Job Centers”, WIOA’s in your town and Common Core/Career Tech, including STEM are in your schools.

This screen shot reveals some eye opening evidence that the ‘NC educational sweet spin’ isn’t telling you the whole truth,

I’ve written PLENTY about how sold out to the CCSS Machine, AdvancED is. You are free to search my blog for the articles, there are that many.

However, let me share with you, an excerpt from their 2013-2014 Annual Report, AdvancED combines the knowledge and expertise of a research institute, the skills of a management consulting firm and the passion of a grassroots movement for educational change. While our expertise is grounded in more than one hundred years of experience accrediting schools, AdvancED is much more than an accrediting agency. Our goal isn’t to certify that schools are good enough. Rather, our commitment is to help schools improve.”

To see their  entire CCSS Machine ‘driven expertise’:
http://www.advanc-ed.org/sites/default/files/documents/AE-AnnualReport2013-14.pdf

Considering the screen shot above and the fact AdvancED is SO devoted to the CCSS Machine that they’ve got ESSA alignment plans going, I fail to see how great this is for NC..or any other State! I wrote extensively about AdvancED, ESSA, and the US:
https://commoncorediva.wordpress.com/2016/06/06/blenders-ready/

For Those Who Are Convinced NC Is Now ‘Common Core Free’:

1) NC DPI where CCSS is plainly stated and is currently in use state-wide:

2) NC State Ed Policies for ‘Global ready’, which is connected to the CCSS Machine:

So there you go, Grandma J, lots to help your local school board see the truth!

Part Two:
NC ‘Bred’, Nation Fed:

These websites will show you how MORE NC bee-stinging, CCSS Machine alignment is going on. If you’d like to see my vast array of articles on other NC CCSS joint efforts, please search the blog.

1) Triangle Universities Center for Advanced Studies Inc.  This NC organization (TUCASI)  has been around since 1975. It’s basically a large park with lots of space for UNC (University of NC), Wake Forest University, and Duke University to combine their efforts for ‘research’. Sadly, every one of these has long since sold out to Common Core in some way. They have no plans, it appears of slowing down.

Since Common Core came to town, TUCASI been busy as a bee aligning all it can. For example, our National Humanities Institute is located here.

Sponsors of this Institute (when you go the website, it states “National Humanities Center”) include some very big CCSS Machine members, including the National Endowment of the Humanities. I exposed the Endowment back in 2015. See: https://commoncorediva.wordpress.com/2015/04/12/rmt-national-humanity-common-core-style/ (*Note: the National Endowment for the Arts has also sold out, but is not NC specific.)

To see the list of CCSS Machine sponsors: http://nationalhumanitiescenter.org/who-we-are/

To see the other research projects of TUCASI: http://www.rtp.org/tucasi/

2) Located in Carrboro, NC is the Advanced Learning Partnerships,
http://www.advancedpartnerships.com/
This group likes to call themselves ALP. They also love to spread their models for educational innovation for K-Higher Ed nation-wide. Leading them is Amos Fodchuk. He’s got a Masters degree and is a “veteran of the high school classroom, Amos is a National Board Certified Teacher (VA, 2006), a Fulbright Scholar and recipient of over 20 awards for educational excellence and innovation.  His range of experience in the development and implementation of innovative, strategic learning models currently supports education partnerships across 25 states.”

You’ll find personalized learning, blended learning, data measuring, and SO much more:
http://www.advancedpartnerships.com/services

If you’ve heard of Districts of Innovation, ALP is into it; if you’ve heard about “ClassTalk” or “Innovators PIE”, ALP is leading it. While I couldn’t find specific partners, I did see Dell Computers joined ALP for ‘blended learning’ in Georgia. See: http://www.advancedpartnerships.com/read-me/

The LIFT Initiative in WA has ALP all over it:

Warriors, I hope that regardless of where you live, you can use this information. Grandma J’s got every right to not only be concerned, but seeking help to inform others. Remember, there are some fantastic folks in our school systems. Folks are not our target, the CCSS Machine IS! If you’ve got a fantastic school system member in trouble, you help them; you don’t attack them.

Between my eye opening article about the ICANN’s ties to the CCSS Machine/global angenda to this article, you’ve got plenty of digital/technology stuff to fill Pooh Bear’s Honey Pot several times over. BUT, there’s more. Just released late yesterday (10/3), was the announcement about several internet giants creating a new AI (Artificial Intelligence) Council. Their focus will include education/social justice/technology. Google is among them. Here’s a short video:

Terrific Tuesday! Anti CCSS News

Both the HR5 AND the HEA re-authorizations are being fast tracked!
Both the HR5 AND the HEA re-authorizations are being fast tracked!

Hi Anti CCSS Warriors, it’s been a whirlwind of busy times for the CC Diva, but have no fear, I’m back with anti Common Core news you can use!! I’m breaking from the my “From the Files” Tuesday to bring you important information. Please read on….

Fresh from the News:

The HR5, aka “Every Child Succeeds” Act (the most current name to the re-authorization of No Child Left Behind) is set to be back in front of our Congress members in the upcoming week. However, don’t stop there. The HEA, aka “Higher Education Act” re-authorization is ALSO being fast tracked. Why? Well for starters, BOTH are being re-written by the SAME pro CCSS/CTE Congress member. At least he’s heading up the re-write team. Sen. Alexander has a long track record of education reform that’s down right scary. Many anti CCSS warriors, myself included, have warned of his activity, some for a very long time, and others, more recent.

While the HR5 has gotten most of the spotlight due to the K-12th grade nature, please don’t overlook the post-secondary bill or think the CCSS/CTE moves begun in the HR5 will stop once your student graduates high school. Far from it, the purpose and intent is to CONTINUE the CCSS/CTE pipeline from one bill to the other! All the curriculum alignment, the assessments, and the data mining are locked in from PreK-20. But, stop to consider, what if I’m an older adult seeking to go back and earn a degree from a post-secondary school.. you’ll be in the pipeline too!

While I Was Away:

When I last posted it was a few days ago. Since then I’ve attended an out of state educational conference which catered to home educators. While Common Core wasn’t a main feature I did observe quite a bit of the CC in plain sight. Trouble was, not many noticed the Standards presence. Why is this an anti CCSS warrior’s concern? The CCSS Machine likes to be stealthy in being among those who educate in ALL school settings.

While those who brought up the fact they’d left the public school system in this state to home educate, most said they were anxious to find virtual schools or being placed in magnet schools, especially the STEM ones. Please do not misunderstand, I am NOT criticizing these school choices. What I’m pointing out is, that we, as anti CCSS warriors need to step up our game and help as many know and understand that ALL school choices have (or can have) CCSS/CTE in them.

For example, all school choices have access to many textbooks, virtual or physical. All school choices have teacher development workshops they can be a part of. (*Note: Not, the development for a home educator will not look like the ones a more traditional educator has, but I can speak from personal experience that I’ve attended workshops hosted by my state’s wildlife resources department where I was shoulder to shoulder with educators spanning the gamut of school choice and including elder care leaders. ) All school choices have field trips, camps, and other extra curricular events. The CCSS Machine has rolled out their agenda in a community wide effort. This includes our libraries, museums, and camps like STEM ones.  Proof has been offered to document each one of these facts. Again, others who are adamantly anti CCSS/CTE, myself included, have shared this knowledge. Don’t forget free curricula that’s CCSS/CTE aligned is also available to all school choices. For example, the Smithsonian Institution, the Endowments for the Arts and the Humanities (separate endowments), MIT online courses, Teaching Tolerance, and others all are CCSS/CTE aligned.

An example of the free online curricula available to all school choices and CCSS aligned.
An example of the free online curricula available to all school choices and CCSS aligned.

The Slick Goody Bags:

Another surefire way to identify CCSS/CTE while I was at this conference was via the slick ads in the goody bag I received once I walked in.  You know these bags, they’re the ones filled with ads for this company and that. Ads which help sell you on why this educational opportunity is the best thing since dirt was invented. As seasoned anti CCSS warriors, we should know what to look for that are easily recognized clues. Why? So we can help others learn to spot the CCSS Machine’s slick sales job!
The ones from my goody bag that I spotted right away:

NASA, the clues? STEM camps, classes and educator workshops, a Smithsonian Institute partner, Boy Scouts partner (yes, even the Boy Scouts are choosing to align to CCSS, that’s recent news, too.I’ll share more on that in a bit), and the fact that I’d already connected NASA to CCSS. In the slick brochure it was evident that these opportunities are available to all educational choices..including homeschoolers. The sad news: you pay for these opportunities, sometimes in pricey sums.

The CLEP brochure, the clues? The College Board logo. (*Note:Once upon a time, CLEP (meaning College Level Exam Program), was an ideal choice as an assessment for all school choices, but most especially home educated ones. ) As seasoned anti CCSS warriors, we know David Coleman is the ‘mastermind’ at College Board, but do others? The vast array of CCSS/CTE aligned CLEPs include: some foreign languages, science, math, composition, business, history, social sciences, and literature. The sad news: you pay to take these assessments.

Mr. D Math, the clue? SAT boot camps. The sad news? This former public school teacher has written not assessments for a HI public school rooted in the P20 community agenda, but has been featured in the RefinED publication discussing the 21st century math teacher. (*Note: RefinED is an active partner to the American Center for School Choice which is a social justice, education reform Walton family funded group. Walton is a known CCSS supporter)

Liberty University’s Dual Enrollment, the clue? The phrase ‘dual enrollment’. The sad news? I’d researched Liberty University in a previously published article exposing their CCSS alignment, especially in their education majors.

There are other slick brochures I can share, but that will be a follow up post for a later time.

Links to use to help educate others where CCSS/CTE is openly hiding:

Helping the Boy Scouts with virtual badges is the Computer Science Student Network. Their CCSS tie? Carnegie Mellon University and DARPA (a special arm of the Dept. of Defense) (*Note: We already learned as anti CCSS warriors that the DofD is participating in student data mining)

RMT: National Humanity, Common Core Style

Could it be possible to have an independent federal agency for humanities align us all via Common Core? That’s the riddle for today, April 12, 2015.

NEH, National Endowment for the Humanities:

Before we get into what NEH does or who is involved, let’s assume you aren’t familiar with ‘humanities’. According the Act of 1965 which gave us a federal level organization, here’s the definition the NEH uses:
“The term ‘humanities’ includes, but is not limited to, the study and interpretation of the following: language, both modern and classical; linguistics; literature; history; jurisprudence; philosophy; archaeology; comparative religion; ethics; the history, criticism and theory of the arts; those aspects of social sciences which have humanistic content and employ humanistic methods; and the study and application of the humanities to the human environment with particular attention to reflecting our diverse heritage, traditions, and history and to the relevance of the humanities to the current conditions of national life.”
Related Note:  the National Arts have been Common Core aligned since June 2014 (see: https://commoncorediva.wordpress.com/2015/02/15/rmt-ccss-hits-the-sour-notes/ )

So, if it’s an independent federal agency, where does the funding come from? The screen shot below is the NEH’s budget from 2015.

Here's the link to the funding: http://www.neh.gov/files/2015_neh_budget_approp.pdf

NEH activities don’t just impact K-12 education, their work goes on to post-secondary educational institutions, to communities. Due to the Act that gave us the NEH, the mandate requires all this interaction with we, the people of the U.S. Many partners, both public AND private partner with the NEH to ensure teachers, leaders have educational resources to promote all that humanities encompasses. So, knowing what we know about P3 involvement in education AND the federal overreach into education, what could possibly point me to the ‘Common Core-ness’ of the NEH? Is it, in fact there? If so, where? Let’s see if we can find out.

Clue #1: The economy merits a mention even in culture. Why if we aren’t cultured properly, we won’t have a proper economy. (see page 2 of the NEH’s proposed 2016 budget request submitted 02/15)

Clue #2: The vast impact in numbers: “The nation’s 4,500 institutions of higher learning employ approximately 125,000 humanities faculty who teach millions of students. More than 3 million teachers dedicate their lives to teaching humanities subjects to tens of millions of school children who attend the more than 128,000 K-12 schools across the country. In addition, the nation’s 17,500 museums and historical societies, which greet 2.4 million visitors daily, and the state humanities councils, which annually reach millions of citizens of all ages, help form the cultural backbone of cities and towns across the country. Collectively, these institutions, and the people they employ, buttress our democracy, strengthen communities, and represent a significant part of the American economy.” (from page 2 as well)

Clue #3: Presidential nominated (means hand picked for a reason) and Congress approved leader requested over $5 million dollars for the “Common Good” Initiative. From page 3: “… enabling legislation to demonstrate “the relevance of the humanities to the current conditions of national life.” To bolster this essential component of NEH’s work, the Endowment has launched a major new initiative, The Common Good: The Humanities in the Public Square. The initiative will be an agency-wide effort designed to demonstrate the critical role the humanities can play in our nation’s public life. NEH requests $5.5 million in support of The Common Good in FY 2016.”

Clue #4: The Common Good initiative continues the rubric set forth from a previous one titled “Standing Together”. Pages 3 and 4 lay out how much the community will be involved in both of these initiatives. Be sure to look further into exactly what the ST and CG initiatives will do (near pages 11 and following) in regards to current public attitudes, policies, and issues. Pages 14 and 15 spell out some of the main agenda points.
You’ll want to note how proud the NEH is of the contribution from the Mellon Foundation. What the budget request won’t tell you about the Mellons, is they are in on the educational list of interlopers. (see: http://www.aaup.org/article/when-billionaires-become-educational-experts#.VSllWvnF-hQ ) While I suspect there are other donations from Mellon on behalf of CCSS, I did find this one, http://www.hamilton.edu/wellin/wellinformed/wellin-museum-receives-100-000-from-mellon-foundation

Clue #5: “Lifetime learning”, “strengthen teaching”, and “strong networks within states”, all on page 5.

Clue #6: Encouraging more P3 involvement in educational endeavors to enhance the ‘Common Good’ program. Including a direct union with the National Science Foundation (I’ve already exposed how deep into CCSS the NSF is, see both articles: (https://commoncorediva.wordpress.com/tag/national-science-foundation/ )

Clue #7: Found on page 7, Verizon’s union with the NEH. Verizon is an unabashedly proud supporter of CCSS. “EDSITEment” is Verzion’s CCSS laden offering to NEH and to we, the people. You can search the internet for more articles, but here are my three, (https://commoncorediva.wordpress.com/?s=Verizon) Here’s an excerpt from page 7 in NEH’s own words, “The website, EDSITEment, now contains over 500 scholar- and teacher-developed lesson plans for the K-12 classroom and links to more than 400 peer-reviewed sites selected for their high quality humanities content and interactive design. More than 3 million visitors—teachers, students, and parents—avail themselves of EDSITEment’s rich resources each year.”

Clue #8: Dangling grant money in front of communities and towns. Sound familiar? See page 15 for the two types of grants we get to compete for.

Clue #9″ The use of the word ‘common’ in relationship to the USA’s heritage. While that in and of itself may or may not be bad to you, it’s something to keep an eye on in HOW this is taught. We’ve already seen what the CCSS Machine has done to history. Oh, and one of the ways to accomplish a ‘common heritage’? Placing resources in libraries and other public locations. If you’ve not already noticed how ‘cleaned out’ your local library is, then you may want to know WHY it has recently gone through such a culling of resources. See:

Clue #10: That federal and state partnership found on page 17. Pardon me, but shouldn’t the correct order be States and federal?! See the U.S. Constitution for Amendment 10.

Under this breakdown, you’ll find the almost laughable concept of the U.S. Dept. of Ed’s ‘support’ in many educational areas. I think all of us, as anti CCSS warriors are more than familiar with the ‘support’ overreach. If you’d like to have the entire NEH 2016 Budget Request: neh_request_fy2016

As far as the “Edsite”, CCSS tie? Yep, not only that, but a CCR (College/Career Ready) Standard plug as well.

How can CCSS impact homeschooling beyond assessments? If you’d like to know NEH also impacts those AP U.S. History resources too! See: http://edsitement.neh.gov/lesson-plans for ALL the latest news.

"This year for National Poetry Month, in response to the Common Core State Standards initiative, EDSITEment has strung a garland of multimedia resources for students of all ages. The Common Core Standards encourage students to develop deeper literacy skills. The depth and rigor found in the study of poetry can be a vehicle by which the CCSS grade level goals of complexity, quality, and range can be accomplished."

Closing:

This isn’t the last national grasp at our nation by the CCSS Machine, folks. We’ve answered the riddle for today. Now we must contact local elected officials who aren’t afraid to stand up for our country! If we can have a movement to defund the College Board, why can’t we defund other national organizations using CC as a weapon of mass indoctrination?! We, the people, must continue to raise awareness of ALL the places CCSS, CCR, CTE, and all the other creations of Common Core are lurking in plain sight.
