Why Not?

Recently, Warriors, the U.S. House of Representatives’ Ed and Workforce Committee released a press notice about #WhyCTE Works. Below is a screen shot of the email I received which announced this strategy.

whycte
Basically, the email is sharing a few personal stories which fit the agenda’s shift from academics to workforce. It promotes this shift as positive. The HR 2353 Bill (Strengthening Career and Technical Education in the 21st Century Act) is also being pumped up as a ‘door opening’ bill for all.
(*Note: before HR 2353 was numbered for record keeping, it was previously HR 5587. That Bill has the exact name the newer HR 2353 does! I broke down the Bill in its HR5587 version, here.)
The newer Bill, HR 2353 has a sponsor in Rep. Thompson from PA. I exposed his involvement in the quest to increase CTE (Career Tech Education) in late 2016.

(*Notes: Rep. Thompson is hardly the lone promoter in the quest. I urge you to know your Representatives and Senators backing the CTE/CBE (Competency Based Ed) shift. The House of Representatives is not the only Chamber pushing workforce based education. The Senate has plenty of Bills as well. The above linked article exposed BOTH the Senate and House’s shift. If you’ve missed my previously published June 2017 article with some of the other related and latest Bills, click here.)

So, what does the newer Strengthening CTE in the 21st Century Act include?

Basically, it is HR 5587 with a different number. All the alignment and conformity of HR 5587 is in HR 2353. When you look below at the Ed/Workforce’s Press Release, notice the underlined phrases. As far as those bullet points with ‘positive’ moves? A bunch of CCSS/CTE bull manure.

HR2353hype
Of course the Ed/Workforce Committee will champion anything which aligns education and workforce. Rep. Virginia Foxx is the Committee chair. Her view on ‘quality education’ is seen below:

foxxed

For the level of support behind HR 2353, take a look at the screen shot below. (A list of reasons why HR2353’s push for #WhyCTE Works? is in the next paragraph.)

HR2353sponsors

The Senate HELP  equally champions alignment between education and employment. The Committee’s chair, as we know, is Sen. Lamar Alexander. Here is a screen shot from his Congressional website:

lamarapprent
(Full Press Release)

Also, consider this letter addressed to the select Senate HELP Committee members (including Alexander and Murray; key CCSS Machine members who sold the nation ESSA, Every Student Succeeds Act)
I found another letter from a known CCSS Machine organization (CLASP) imploring Sen. Alxeander to use CTE as laid out by WIOA (Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act) as a tool to align education. (*Note: back in Sept. of 2016, I published a scathing article on CTE, CLASP, Alexander/Murray, Congress, and early learning alignment..for our babies!)

Why We Should be Adding “Not” To CTE:

Warriors, for starters, simply put CTE IS the adult version of Common Core. In fact, I showed you, back in 2014, how CTE used to be worded. It was “Common Career and Technical Core Education”.  As time progressed and the truth about CCSS came out, the name changed to ‘Career and Technical Education’. Quick to not be seen as aligned to the “State led Standards”, the powers behind CTE, dropped the two words “Common and Core”. In many cases the ‘and’ has been dropped as well. Nothing like a quick name change to fool America, huh?

This is always reason #1 to NOT have CTE, it’s 100% CCSS aligned. (*Note: if you’re not sure how, ask me.)

Reason #2 to say “NOT”: More federal control over how States recieve and use their Perkins (CTE) funds.

Reason #3: Associate degree programs will be shifted to a ‘post-secondary credential’ (It’s optional if credentials are ‘industry recognized’).

Reason #4: CBE (Competency Based Education and accompanying assessments) will increase.

Reason #5: In HR 2353, you’ll find ESSA supportive moves, like middle school ‘career explorations’. You’ll also find every student group, even those outside of traditionally public schools will be included. You’ll find that financial aid is tied to CBE and CTE ‘results’.

Reason #6: HR 2353 is HR 5587 updated. Just as in WIOA, ESSA, and 5587; HR 2353 has the increases for ‘early college high schools’ and more.

Reason #7: CTE in Native American education.  If you want to see how ESSA impacts Native Americans, I urge you to read my article on the subject.

Reason #8: You’ll be able to add ‘in-demand’ and ‘evidence-based’ to the long list of CCSS Words/Phrases we loathe. “Rigor” and ‘challenging’ are written throughout the Bill.

Reason #9: Increases P3s (Public Private Partnerships). This is also found in ESSA. Nothing like a business to run education, is there?

Reason #10: “Pay for Success” models in education are always a ‘lose-lose’ situation. Expect plenty more with HR 2353.

Access the PDF Version of HR 2353 here.

Closing:

Warriors, by no means are the above 10 reasons the only ones to say NO to CCSS’s CTE. If you are new to my research/blog, please, ask me or use the provided search bar.

I also will state for the record that I am NOT ‘anti job’. Jobs are a great thing. However, as we are seeing more and more of our lives funneled through the CCSS Machine, we are seeing LESS and LESS of our naturally given freedoms to choose what TYPE of job(s) we’ll have. Our ancestors fought to STOP child labor; CTE is breeding child labor-minded workers.

There is no amendment to the U.S. Constitution protecting our children in this area. The last time an amendment was proposed to ban States from exercising child labor was 1924. In that proposed amendment, Congress would usurp the States’ Rights for labor. Only 28 States ever ratified the Amendment.  It takes 38 States to ratify to be added to the Constitution.

We know CCSS Machine exploits education. What will we do to STOP CTE from exploiting our children?

Why Have Goals?

Warriors, in my “Purse Strings” article, you were promised a follow-up article further looking at the connections between SEL (Social Emotional Learning), the SMART Goals, and, the HARD Goals.

Briefly, before we get to that follow-up information, I’d like to point out something I didn’t in the original article. The connections between who funds each of these types of activities in each of our States is worth looking into. However, don’t only look at the wealthiest folks, but look at their foundations. Look at the traditionally conservative or liberal policy think-tanks. Are there connections between these groups? Are there partnerships? A great conservative example is the AFC (American Federation for Children). Besty DeVos has been instrumental in AFC’s work in the States. Does AFC have an affiliate in your State? As far as an liberal example, try to see if your State has any affiliate offices for the Center for American Progress (CAP).
(*Note: A resource I found where the political spectrum of policy groups is featured is the Citizens Source.)
Also, what PACs (Political Action Committees) are active in education in your State?
More information about PACs and how they are broken down can be found at OpenSecrets.com.

Why We Need to Know The Money Trail:

ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act) not only mandates MORE P3s (public private partnerships), it will reward them for overreaching into education!
Find out what are they supporting or funding in the War Vs. the Core.

SEL, Grit, SMART, HARD, And American Education:

To quickly review the connections between these  encompass the global education design for “grit”. Meaning, all education must be a certain way in order to be deemed as ‘successful’. Put another way, per the NC ESSA State Draft Plan (I found it in other State Plans as well), ‘grit’ is for ‘college and career readiness’ (CCR). CCR is another phrase for ‘post-secondary readiness’! See the evidence here.

By passing WIOA (Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act) in 2014, ESSA (Every Student Succeeds) and the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math)Acts in 2015, renewing the HEA’s (Higher Education Act) funding in 2015, our federal government has done a ‘bang up’ job of mandating we’ll see MORE grit, SEL, SMART, and HARD parameters in ALL educational levels.

Here are two visuals to explain SMART Goals and HARD Goals:

You’ll find plenty of SMART (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Revelant, and Trackable) and HARD (Heart-felt, Animated, Required, and Difficult) in every digital resource your students encounter.  All those ‘personalized courses’ are an example.

Teachers will also face the same constraints. HOW? Professional Development in ESSA mandates teachers and other educational leaders MUST be credentialed in everything post-secondary readiness so their students can measure up. Teachers/leaders/students will be collectively graded on how successful what is taught and learned. It’s called whole school grading. ESSA will reward or punish States where schools do not measure up. Likewise, teachers/leaders will be rewarded or punished if not properly credentialed or badged.

Here are some vital resources you’ll need for SMART and HARD Goals:

1) As we know, there’s a 2013 U.S. Dept. of Education publication about GRIT.
It unabashedly connects CCSS to SEL. Find it here.  (*Note: you’ll find mega bucks Bill and Melinda Gates had a huge hand in helping create this document.)

2)  SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, and Time-bound) Goals. Originally designed for business, it appears they’ve made their way into education.  Here’s a document from the State of VA. It’s from the Human Resources Dept of the University of VA. It’s clearly visible this document was for use in higher education.

Warriors, we know higher education has been overrun with corporate/federal interference to help embed that cradle to grave stream global education needs for all citizens. I’ve covered this multiple times here on my blog. WIOA (Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act) and HEA (Higher Education Act) are tools for this. ESSA’s the same.

3) What happens when GRIT and SMART are combined? Find it here.
3a) From CA, a 6th grade Career Roadmap using SMART.

4) Below, Lifelong Learning Labs has this definition of SMART for education. As you can see it’s not too far removed from the business model (‘SMART’ in business stands for Specific, Measurable, Achieveable, Realistic, and Timely.). LLL also calls SMART Goals ‘mind tools’.

************************************************************
HARD Goals supposedly are to make your brain engage and cause your performance levels soar..at least in the business world. According to this blog article about HARD Goals, the concept has been around a long time. These are to be the ‘softer’, more personal skills you have or can groom in others. According to this same article, Leadership IQ’s Mark Murphy has created the latest acroynm. So, who is Murphy? From his Leadership IQ website, this excerpt about his ties to the CCSS Machine and global workforce/education.
With a reputation for brilliant, yet immediately actionable, insights about leadership, he’s trained leaders at the United Nations, Harvard Business School, the Clinton Foundation, Microsoft, MasterCard, SHRM, and hundreds more organizations.  Mark leads one of the world’s largest leadership skills studies, and his work has appeared in The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Fortune, Forbes, Bloomberg BusinessWeek, and U.S. News & World Report. Mark has also appeared on CNN, NPR, CBS News Sunday Morning, ABC’s 20/20, and Fox Business News.” Source

1) According to Tony Gurr, he created HARD Goals for education/teaching back in 2012.
His blog entry reveals he ‘borrowed’ Mark Murphy’s business model. See it here. Gurr’s based in Turkey, by the way. According to his LinkedIn profile, he’s got his finger on the HARD/SMART, English Language Learning (ELL) and, English Language Teaching (ELT) education reform. See his ties to Dubai, too. Gurr’s a presentor in this on-line course for teachers available to all education choices.

2) From the “Read Less, Do More” website, Murphy’s summary on how HARD goals are to be used. Read this and see if you do not recognize some of the techniques used in classrooms.

3) If you don’t have time to read the summary, look below for a visual example of HARD goals from 2014. Entire Slide Share presentation, here.

HARDgoals

Warriors, ‘personalized learning’ uses SEL, GRIT, SMART, and HARD!

4) Murphy’s lastest article on HARD vs SMART for Forbes, states both are best for career development. Knowing how aligned to this mandate ESSA is, look for more of this type of BS in classrooms.

5) Tying Grit to Education Savings Accounts, will not only encompass personalized learning, but CBE (Competency Based Education). Big money groups in our States fund these! A ‘leader’ in this is The Jeb Bush Foundation for Excellence in Education. However, FEE is hardly the only big-buck-group in this education reform. Here’s a previously published article where I laid it all out for you.

Closing:

Warriors, I hope between the strings and goals I’ve presented for you in the 2 related articles, you can get an idea that ‘local control’ as promised by the CCSS Machine is a big, fat lie. Locally controlled education should not have nebulous purse strings or someone else’s business modeled priorities as the guiding framework. Local education should be OF the people, BY the people, and, FOR the people.

One truth you can still share with your State’s leaders/funders, etc. is that this federal statute is STILL being broken every day ESSA’s implementation continues. Every day WIOA’s workforce ursurping of education continues, furthers this breach. With the HEA being re-written, the egregious overreaches will continue. Will your State speak up?!

Ed/Workforce’s Dirty Laundry?!

Hello, my Anti Fed Ed/CCSS Warriors! As you know, I’ve dedicated years to researching just how deep the roots to the shift in American education to workforce training are.

Today’s article will give you a rundown which is sure to help your War vs the Core in your State.

Why you need such a rundown of items is simple. The CCSS Machine’s rhetoric will somewhat slow down during the summer months. A perfect opportunity for us to make some moves of our own. No battle is won without specific preparation.

D.C.’s Dirty Laundry:

So far, during the current Congressional session, there are PLENTY of ‘dirty’ education/workforce bills in the making. Using the Congress.gov website (where you can easily look up bills), there are 733 Workforce bills for the 2017 session.

Since we know what happens in D.C. travels to each of the 50 States, we know what to look for at our General Assemblies, State Congresses, etc. Much like the proverbial red towel left in the load of white sheets, the goal of the CCSS Machine is simple, make all education ‘pink’ (ie: workforce training, not academic-minded). As we also, know, once dyed pink, sheets do not return to their former color easily, if at all.

Below are only a few of the ‘dirty’ bills:

S268, Investing in Student Success Act of 2017 (Senator Young from IN is the main sponsor).
Sounds not so ‘dirty’ right? I mean who doesn’t want to invest in their child’s post-secondary education?! Ah, but Warriors, the ‘dirt’ is that your student and someone not related to you invests in their education via an ISA (Income Share Agreement).

S268
Some hidden ‘dirt’ for S268 is that this FEDERAL bill goes above any existing State law about investment agreements! Targeted group for S268? Low-income students.

HR1837, The 21st Century Energy Workforce Act (Representative Norcross from NJ is the main sponsor)
This bill points out that energy in the United States is the 3rd largest industry. As such, it needs more skilled workers than other industries.
The ‘hidden dirt’ to this bill? Using community colleges for the uniting of all educational choices for STEM/CTE aligned Common Core workforce educated students. (*Note: STEM is short for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math; CTE is short for Career Technical Education. Both are tied to Common Core and have been for years.)

The embedded ‘pink’ stain to this bill? The Secretary of Energy will be in charge of grants for creating apprenticeships to carry all this alignment out. This will, of course, involve the U.S. Dept. of Labor, and the U.S. Dept. of Education.
This HR1837, also establishes a National Center for Excellence for the  21st Century Workforce Advisory Board.(see pages 3 and 4)

HR1837

Warriors, notice the ‘pipeline’ begins in elementary school!
*************************************************************************************

A Former ‘Stain’ Which Will Not Wash Out:

Our Senate, over the past 2 Congressional sessions, has tried to get a bill to support a National Workforce Board. See below from Sen. Cantwell’s (WA):

S1304
S1304, was last introduced during the 2015-2016 Session by Sen. Cantwell. If you read the 9 pages, it is very similar in several instances to the HR 1837 language. Talk about ‘dirty laundry’….
*****************************************************************

New Wash Load, Same Old Dirt:

During THIS Congressional Session (2017-2018) The Senate’s 21st Century Energy Workforce Act is mainly sponsored by Sen. Heinrich, NM. It is S895.

S895’s title is officially “Energy Workforce for the 21st Century Act of 2017”. This bill specifies an increase in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) especially for low-income students of ALL ages (like the House’s bill, this one will begin in elementary schools and go all the way to the workforce). This bill also specifies WIOA (Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act’s) definition of ‘education’..just like ESSA did.

S895 will have not only the Secretary of Energy creating education collaborations, but awarding all kinds of incentives to them.

S895

Warriors, if you missed my article from earlier this year about how the major Cabinet agencies all have CTE/STEM plans to streamline education to workforce skills, I urge you to access that information here. It is absolutely key to what we see Congress plotting NOW.

Also, take into consideration that the Federal Budget has millions of taxpayer funds earmarked for job creation. On Page 2 of the 2018 Federal Budget, energy development is at the top of the continued priority list. Education is last. On Page 8, funding/discussion for American jobs is highlighted.

Back in March 2017, when the Blueprint for the Federal Budget was released, I shared with you just how the education/workforce stream of money was being kept alive, in spite of all the noise about reining in the federal overreach into education.
Here is that article. (*Note: be sure to access my special 5 page guide to see just how the Cabinet level agenices are involved. It will help in understanding the Congressional bills we are exposing in this article.)

Continuing the Spin Cycle:

S1186 is sponsored by several Senators from across the nation. Leading them is Sen. Baldwin from WI. This bill, the Domestic Maritime Centers of Excellence Act of 2017, would have the Secretary of Transportation select existing community colleges (and technical schools) for an increase in educated workforce training. This Secretary’s assistance also includes funding, use of federal resources, AND, create new career pathways!

S628, Educating Tomorrow’s Workforce Act of  2017 is mainly sponsored by Sen. Kaine of VA. While it’s been rumored VA never had Common Core, it’s been researched and proven VA has Common Core’s ‘adult version’ of education, CTE (Career Tech Education). This bill should be an absolute dead ringer for exposing the shift in education. Why? See below:

S628

Closing:

Warriors, as you can see, these are just a few of the over 700 bills Congress has created in the name of job creation, education, workforce skills, and more. The bottom line, however, is 100% alignment to WIOA via ESSA. HEA (Higher Education Act) is also to be included. Career Pathways, STEM, and so much more connects every one of these existing laws and proposed bills. Will every one of these bills survive? No, but even if ONE of them succeeds, look at the agenda it embeds, not only federally, but LOCALLY.
The ‘stain’ of CCSS Machine reform is becoming permanently marked on America.

Is this what we will continue to allow Congress to see when it comes to our children?!

Partnering Up!

There’s no doubt about life, Warriors; some partnerships make a lot of sense. Some partnerships are fantastic and help us out greatly. Then, as we’ve seen through our War Vs. the Core, some partnerships belong in Hell.

As you were able to find out in my last article, the partnerships made to align American education to anything which resembles a more traditionally academic or patriotic one, happened long ago.

For today’s article, we’ll look at how the partnerships made among our leaders in DC and elsewhere are just as Hell-bound as the others.

Sen. Hatch’s Partnership:

Back in March 2017, the Oregon Senator’s press release stated he’d joined forces with Senator Bennet from Colorado to create ‘critical’ CTE (Career Technical Education) legislation. They are sponsoring the Innovation for Tomorrow’s Workforce Act  The number is S790. It is to accompany this existing Workforce Advance Act, S795. (*Note: S795 has replaced last Congressional Session’s  S3271, by the same name).

From my research into CTE, the only ‘critical’ legislation needed is a repeal of what exists to divorce workforce training from academic education. Why? CTE is, as you know, a direct form of Common Core. As I call it, it’s the ‘adult version’. It’s only purpose is to streamline education into workforce training.

So, what’s the ‘critical’ need for CTE as seen by these partners?
In a few words: by increasing the technology uses in and for CTE, you improve the ‘quality’ of what is learned and taught.

How will all this technology ‘improve’ education?
*Bring in more apprenticeships. work-based programs, and CBE (competency based education) all of which are also CCSS, STEM, and, CTE aligned.

*Easily transfer massive data points on students from one educational institution to the next (this doesn’t include all the third parties involved in the data pool)

*Increase the involvement of more businesses in the classroom; thereby changing academics to workforce based industry needs (which ESSA, Every Student Succeeds Act, has so handily already mandated)

*Have the Secretary of Education (DeVos) decide the funding streams for CTE (largest money trail from federal level to each State level via Perkins Funding). Where it goes and to whom it goes to. (expect favortism via locations and public-private partnerships)

*Embeds Sen. Hatch’s ‘favorite’ tool: The ‘pay for success’ business model applied to education (it’s been a disaster before now, it will only get worse)
*****************************************************
*Before we move on, when we see these types of Congressional partnerships, let’s bear in mind that many have special interest groups in common. Take for example, the resource which tracked all the ‘yes’ votes and ‘no’ votes on the passage of ESSA per special interest campaign donations. Over 100 special interest groups ‘incentivized’ Congress on how to vote. Find that information here.

Then consider this: what Congress did with ESSA, they will do again, when it it time to re-authorize the HEA (Higher Education Act).
******************************************************

The Warren Partnership:

In the current Congress, Sen. Elizabeth Warren and 3 others have taken former legislation of a few Senators/Reprensentatives’ data mining bill and ‘improved’ upon it. We’ll get back to this one in a few minutes, but first, a bit of background.

In previous Congress sessions, Sen. Marco Rubio had teamed up several others to create a ‘Know Before You Go’ bill. In 2013, the Senators/Reps. partnering together were Marco Rubio, Ron Wyden, Mark Warner, Duncan Hunter, and Robert Andrews. In 2015, it was simply Rubio, Warner, and Wyden.

The purpose of the bill sounds fine, having access to facts about a college or school before you attend. I mean, who wouldn’t like help in making a decision about education?

HOWEVER, add in what our fellow Anti Fed Ed Warriors, Jane Robbins and Emmett McGroarty published about the unspoken federal education and data mining capabilities, that is a HUGE red flag for us.

If you recall, it’s been in previous articles that other Anti Fed Ed Warriors (myself included) have warned about the purposed uniting of student data (all ages, all educational backgrounds) via the SLDS and the WQDI (Student Longitudinal Data System and the Workforce Quality Data Initiative).

So, what has Sen. Warren done with this type of legislation?
According to her Press Release, she’s partnered with 3 other Senators (Hatch, Cassidy, and Whitehouse).
The name of the bill is the College Transparency Act.
The telling sign that this partnership is connected to the CCSS Machine? The involvement of Third Way and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
It’s important to note that Sen. Warren is not the lead sponsor for S1121, but she does appear to have the most information on it.

The House of Representatives also has a College Transparency Act Bill (HR2434). How many partners there? Eight in all. Reps Paul Mitchell (main sponsor), Jared Polis, Thomas Garrett, Raja Krishnamoorthi, Steve Stivers, Jimmy Panetta, Neal Dunn, and Fred Upton.
Like the Senate version, some of the same dangers Robbins/McGroarty have published, are in the House’s version, too.

If you wish to see the government’s Digital Play Book for data/technology use (as mentioned in HR2434), find it here.

*******************************************************

Let’s face it, Warriors, I’ve shown you before how devoted to CTE our Congress members are!
If they truly listened to us and honored the Constitution, they would need
to repeal WIOA (Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act of 2014/STEM Act of 2015 (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math)/ HEA’s (Higher Education Act) funding streams continuing/ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act)/The WIOA Technical Amendments/the American Apprenticeship Initiative, and anything legislatively binding us to CTE!

Partnering Up For Your Little Ones:

HR 2590 (Computer Science for All Act) by Rep. Lee. According to her Press Release,
Computer Science should start in PreK or preschool. It’s streamlined track ends at 12th grade. (*Here’s my Jan. 2017 article on the “Computer Science for All” push by Scholastic, Inc. and others.)

Other CCSS Machine alignment clues from the Press Release
*those 21st Century jobs/skills for a greater economy, especially in STEAM fields (STEAM is short for Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Math)
*the backing of leading STEM organizations (STEM is short for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math).
*uses OECD data/influence as justification for the need to target women and minorities
*uses at least $250 million in taxpayer money
(While the text of the newer version isn’t available, be sure to access its former version below. See what’s being done in the ‘name’ of student success.
That Act was HR 6095. It was also Rep. Lee’s bill. During THAT Session, these Representatives partnered together with Lee:
Eddie B Johnson, GK Butterfield, Judy Chu, Jared Polis, Susan DelBene, Ruben Hinojosa, Dina Titus, Robin Kelly, Michael Honda, Katherine Clark, and Marcia Fudge.)

Closing:

Warriors, these are by far, NOT the only Congressional partnerships being used to further the intrusion of WIOA, HEA, ESSA, the STEM Act, Apprenticeships, and everything which connects them into our lives.

These types of partnerships are NOT exclusive among Congress members. As we’ve seen, outside influences are involved.

So, on the federal level, we see alignment all around us. Warriors, it’s on the State levels, too! ESSA will force these partnerships in your communities as well.

Think of it this way: you have the information from the top, you know the system. It flows downward. Get this type of information to your State and local levels before there’s time for the grasp of the CCSS Machine to continue grinding us down. While we are playing catch up on some battles in the War Vs the Core, we CAN surge ahead in areas like these WHEN we use the power of information! Warriors, these Bills (above) haven’t been made law. THEY CAN BE STOPPED!

If you stop and look, almost everything in education/workforce is lined up to meet the UN’s SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals). With legislative partners like we see above are in action, they bring us ever closer to what you see below.

Let us no longer turn a blind eye, or, a deaf ear to this situation. For, if we do, this very well may be the only type of ‘class photo’ we’ll see from now on.

Up To Our Ears

Anti Fed Ed Warriors, do you ever get the feeling some folks just don’t like the truth? Sure, truth is not always accepted, especially in the educational reform which has overtaken our everyday lives. Truth isn’t always welcomed, either. Especially when anti Fed Ed conversations reach those delicate issues we do not agree on.

However, Warriors, EACH issue of this educational takeover IS vital! Not one point needs to be called down, made fun of, or, worse, have those on the same side calling each other names.

Every single time we engage in the ‘show me the proof’ tactic instead of respecting we are on the same side (saving our students/citizens from one-way-to-teach-and-learn), we help the CCSS Machine’s progress become a bit more believeable to the rest of the nation.

We’ve been given a earful of news, Warriors..and it has many jumping to some dangerous conclusions.

1) Betsy DeVos’s humdinger of a lie that Common Core is no more.
DANGER! While technically speaking the ‘phrase’ Common Core is not as ‘hot’ as it once was, does NOT mean it is completely dead. The phrase has been replaced with other names. It is a tactic we saw used before ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act) became law and it is still being used. The CCSS Machine is replaying a worn out song, here Warriors. Tune the volume down!

2) Is the news the President has signed an Executive Order to have DeVos and her team conduct a 300 day (and taxpayer funded) study as to where and how the federal government has over-stepped in education. DANGER!!

How so?! Wouldn’t this be some of the most welcomed news we Warriors have had in ages?!

Listen Carefully:

While the Order MAY accomplish some good, let’s look at some key evidence from our War Vs the Core:

1) Assume nothing is completely over or corrected as long as federal activities in education are still going on. Rubber stamping and codifying federal overreach into education are the new reality.

2) IF the President and Congress had already heeded our voices, read our credible evidence, we would NOT need a 300 day time period to prove where the gross overreaches are.

3) Were any of the Anti Fed Ed Warriors consulted about the need for a study, especially at our own taxpayer expense? Will any be sought after to help create a truthfully objective Study?

4) Having Betsy DeVos go over her ‘own’ federal cabinet agency is pretty much like putting a fox in charge of the hen house. Look at the disasters of Duncan and King. Are we destined, as Americans, to continue to see a parade of educrats reign supreme?

5) The elephant in the room concerning this Order? The U.S. Constitution’s firm stance that NO federal involvement in education is permissable. So, Order or not, until this basic truth is heard and honored, nothing will change in what is happening concerning education!

6) While all ears were tuned to the Executive Order to rein in DC, look at what followed:  Mr. Trump congratulated the CCSSO (a verified CCSS Machine member group) on their Teacher of the Year program.
(*Note: the TotY is backed by other CCSS Machine member groups.)

From where my research has taken me over the years, this is not a tune any Anti Fed Warrior want to hear. Especially when it followed the ‘hit’ about an investigation into the U.S. Dept. of Education. (*Note: fellow anti Fed Ed Warrior, Shane Vander Hart stated, ” It is certainly a welcome action, but let’s not do a happy dance yet.”)

What We’d Like To Hear:

1) Does the President have the power to make 2017 the year this debacle is righted? Sure he does! Will he use it?! That depends, Warriors. Will President Trump and Congress continue to ‘mute’ us and our truthful information?

2) If we are truly to believe our President wants to end Common Core, he must silence the hypnotic tunes of the CCSS Machine’s rhetoricFrom the Vice President on down the line, too.

3) As many anti Fed Ed Warriors joining in the ‘truthful hits’ via social media, especially the #KeepYourPromise campaign already firmly in place on Twitter. We Warriors MUST keep up the pressure. Music is said to soothe a savage beast, right? There is no bigger, nastier beast than that of the egregious educational reform. If we are to change the tune of education in America, we must influence those in charge. The Twitter campaign has been consistently drawing awareness and hyper focus to our War vs the Core. It is a ‘pitch perfect’ tool we can use. The Study’s to take up to 300 days, why not use that time to ‘pitch’ a helpful, truth filled note?!

4) IF social media’s not your ‘thing’, we need as many parents, grandparents, citizens, and students (of all ages) to keep pressure up with their Congress members AS well as our President! Think of Horton hearing that Who. It took every single resident of Whoville to make noise.

An Idea:
We could save our nation millions! Taxpayer funds for those Studies wouldn’t be needed; Mr. Trump could simply listen to our voices as anti Fed Ed Warriors who’ve proven almost daily that ALL federal intrusion into education from birth to grave is illegal!

Make noise, Warriors! Be heard! This is not a time for silence from the masses.

Closing:

Warriors, am I hopeful the end of the federal overreach in education is about to become history? That depends.

Will Congress end its ties to the United Nations, especially in adhering to the Sustainable Development Goals, where education is an intended ‘change agent’? Will D.C. honor its own Constitutionally binding parameters? Will the States wake up and reclaim their sovereignty and deny the federal intrusion into education by refusing ALL federal funding? Will ESSA and WIOA (Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act) be repealed and re-written to honor the Constitution? Will the HEA (Higher Education Act) be halted in its current re-writing to honor the Constitution?

Will the President acknowledge that EVERY federal level Cabinet agency has its hand in education? Will he stop THOSE Agencies or order investigations into their workforce education plans?

Will The Real Leaders, Please, Stand Up!

My fellow Anti Fed Ed/CCSS Warriors, we’ve seen countless ways in which those involved in the CCSS Machine have welded their power. We’ve seen the damage. We’ve felt the sting as we’re lashed back at for speaking the truth. Are we to give up? Not I!

My question in the title, points to several things in our War Vs. the Core:
1) Those sold out to the CCSS Machine and its ruining of our educational system are no true leaders at all.
2) Those of us fighting against the ruinious mess across America, have risen up to become truthful leaders who were united.
3) Some of our Warriors have been swayed by  ESSA’s rhetoric of the ‘school choice’ issue. Thereby playing right into the CCSS Machine’s plan of fallacies before facts. The result? In-fighting amongst our combined efforts.
4) Some  of our Warriors have remained solid in their stance against the CCSS Machine. How? By continuing to present consistent evidence that, not only school choice, but other CCSS Machine fallacies (data mining is not a big deal; States can actually lead their own efforts in ESSA’s implementation) are about to render all we’ve held near and dear about ‘quality education’, completely useless.
5) Those leaders in our political offices we’ve looked to to ‘save’ our kids, have, for the most part, continued to sell them down the river. Those who’ve dared to stand up against the Machine, have suffered as well.

All the while, the CCSS Machine churns on.

While we’re looking so hard at one portion of the CCSS Machine, the other parts make moves clothed in ‘greatness’. In truth, these are setting our nation up for total alignment to everything America fought to be free of.

puppetpeople
The CCSS Machine is turning our school officials into puppets. Are we really OK with this?

Not sure which part of the Machine I’m referring to, while the other parts churn on?

As I revealed yesterday, in my highly censored article, the CCSSO or the Council of Chief State School Officers.
1) They’ve posed as leaders we trusted in the past; while, they have proven themselves to be 100% untrustworthy.
2) They’ve inserted themselves into the global push to change American education.
3) They love data mining our students and teachers of all ages.

4) The CCSS Machine group has had the audacity to brag about how their partnering with those citizens who THOUGHT they were helping shape their State’s ESSA plans was a positive move, knowing full well those citizen voices wouldn’t be written in!
5) CCSSO was actually named, by the U.S. Dept. of Education’s newer ESSA regulations, as one of the groups States HAD to work with to create State plans. (So, as always, my question has been: How can a State create its own plan when the CCSS Machine is micro-managing every move?!)
6) Most of all, CCSSO owns half the copyright to the Common Core State Standards. As I’ve proven to you before, ESSA did NOT kill Common Core! It re-branded it! So, in essence, CCSSO will still literally profit off our State educational systems.

So much for ‘great’ objective leadership, huh?

What Leaders Will We Be From Here On Out?

Warriors, we do, in fact, face a bleak outcome in the War Vs the Core; if we continue to ignore the ENTIRE set of CCSS Machine’s movements.

How can this be done when all the ‘cards are stacked against us’?

1) Get the facts about the CCSS Machine fallacies for school choice, data mining, etc.
2) Know that the assessments geared to the CCSS Machine will not be going away anytime soon due to the ESSA mandates. This means the participation rates will also be enforced. Mandates in the WIOA (Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act) and HEA (Higher Education Act) also ensure high-stakes assessments are here to stay.
3) Petition your States to sever their membership with the CCSSO. Find out if there is a State level, or even, a federal level law requiring membership in this sold-out-to-the- workforce-global-way-of-21st-Century-living. Is there a State level or federal level policy which has been misconstrewed to fool each State into thinking membership is required?
4) Fire up the Warrior’s cry against the CCSS Machine lobbyists who have purchased politicans votes. Both at the State and federal levels. If the CCSS Machine believes we’re divided and in-fighting, here’s where we can prove it wrong! We’re NOT going away! We will NOT surrender each other to this one-way-to-learn-one-way-to-conform system!

We are STILL that mighty force which outnumbers the CCSS Machine, question is, will we continue to lead like we believe it?

roman-army-testudo-formation
Protecting each other well during a battle is vital for success.

We must face the fact that there is SO much more to taking down the CCSS Machine than simply at the federal level. We MUST look at our States. The biggest portions of  education funding in each State is from within, meaning your tax dollars.

Getting the States out of the CCSSO, is a definite beginning to true State-led education. Repealing all federal level education laws will absolutely re-instate our U.S. Constitution’s State Sovereignty in education.

Finally, while it may appear we face a ‘stacked deck’, appearances can be deceiving. We must carry ourselves as leaders who want a victory SO bad, we will be the mightest we’ve ever been!

Warriors, as we leave each other to celebrate this Holy Weekend, know that we STILL have much to accomplish. As such, most of next week, I will be away helping create a new and special Warrior tool to aid us in our War Vs. the Core. Use this article as a ‘study guide’ for how your troops can unite and formulate a great strategy to help your State regain its Sovereignty.

The Best For The Worst

Welcome back, my fellow Anti Fed Ed/CCSS Warriors!

I’ve returned home after a bittersweet journey. That said, let’s dive in, shall we?!
*******************************************************************************

In playing ‘catch up’ on the latest education news, I found this ‘lovely’ rotten apple:
The CCSSO (Council of Chief State School Officers) has been given an award for being one of the BEST non-profit groups in our nation!

If you missed this news, it is no surprise. It was announced on the CCSSO’s Press Release Page on 4/1/17 (aka: April Fool’s Day). CCSSO’s Twitter account waited to ‘tweet’ the news the same day as the first ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act) deadline expired. In fact, if you use Twitter and wish to see all the ‘cheering tweets’ CCSSO gave each State as they ‘lined up’ for ESSA (per the U.S. Dept. of Ed’s website), find them here.

ccssobest

Warriors, I hope you see not only the irony of the dates used, but the groups involved. It’s been known for quite some time how tied to the CCSS Machine the CCSSO is. The same is true for the U.S. Dept. of Education, too.
**************************************************************

So, what group(s) are involved in recognizing the CCSSO as ‘one of the best’?

The NonProfit Times:

First, here’s a quote from the CCSSO Press Release about the “The NonProfit Times”: “This is the second year that CCSSO made the list of 50 organizations recognized. The NonProfit Times partnered with Best Companies Group, Inc. on this report.”

NPTimes

What we need to know about the NonProfit Times is this: It is a publication of the BridgeTower Media group. BridgeTower Media uses its’ research arm, the Best Companies Group, Inc., for ’employee satisfaction’ data collection.

Crossing Over On A Bridge:

BridgeTower Media is the business arm of GateHouse Media: “BridgeTower Media is the business-to-business media division of Gatehouse Media, the largest publisher of daily newspapers in the United States.” Source

However, Warriors, BridgeTower is a ‘rebrand’ in business news! See below:

See the rest of the article.

Enter The Warriors:

So, how does this involve what we are experiencing in classrooms? Why as an Anti Fed Ed/CCSS Warrior should I take notice?

1) Technology is really big deal in modern education. Technology means data collection, sharing, and, power. Power for those who capture it/loss of power in our privacy. So, apply the following in that context.

SoftBank has a “Vision Plan. Technology is the root of the Plan. Also involved in the “Plan” is Saudi Arabia. The Plan includes increasing globally led AI (Artificial Intellegience). Apple, Inc. has already jumped into the Plan. Apple, Inc. is also part of the CCSS Machine’s overreach into educational settings.

GateHouse Media is considered America’s largest publisher of daily news. GateHouse, thus has tremendous influence in our local areas. Consider this, the single largest investor (Fortress Investment Group, LLC)  in GateHouse Media was sold to a Japanese based investment group (SoftBank Group Corp.) earlier this year!

2) Warriors, a globally based investment group has been able to get their collective foot further into our American doorways by making such a move. The evidence for globally-led influence in American education is becoming stronger every day.

3) Notes: Technology-based education was given the go-ahead with the passage of WIOA (2014’s Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act), STEM Act of 2015 (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math), and the ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act, 2015). Technology based education in the HEA (Higher Education Act, 2008) will most certainly received the ‘go-ahead’ for streamlined education when it is re-authorized.

Current leadership in D.C. is ‘hell-bent’ on expanding technology, especially in classrooms. A huge portion of federal funds has been earmarked for technology purchases and upgrades via ESSA.

So, how does all this tie back to the CCSSO’s ‘award’?!

You have a  massive global group with plenty of CCSS Machine ties congratulating ANOTHER CCSS Machine member for being a best ‘non profit’ group. Non profit groups have been used for years to usher in the education reform.

We are on a  fast track set for meeting the U.N.’s global education goals as written out in the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals)!

Technology will render ‘school choice’ a thing of the past. ESSA’s implementation will render true ‘school choice’ as a thing of the past.

Closing:

Warriors,  the CCSSO should receive no reward for anything it does.  By the acknowledgement as one of the best places to work, according to the NonProfit Times, those employees are rubbing our noses it what they do for the CCSSO. Helping lead the way in un-Americanizing education.

There is a place for CCSSO and every other CCSS Machine member group.  It’s called “Traitors Gate”.

Can I Get a “Meow”?

Warriors Against Fed Ed, we know that the overreach in education is NOT contained in the K-12th grade levels. We also know it’s not restricted to public education, but spills over into ALL educational choices.
We can thank federal laws for that. The ‘holy trio’ of WIOA, ESSA, and the HEA (Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act of 2014; Every Student Succeeds Act of 2015; Higher Education Act of 2008, and, currently being re-written to become re-authorized.)

I believe Congress is preparing the way for the ‘new’ HEA by creating Bills now which amend the current HEA. Why is the ‘new’ HEA a concern for Fed Ed Warriors? It’s the last ‘link in the chain for a cradle to career streamlined education for workers’.

I’ve written about other Congressional Bills which also are laying the trail to the new and improved HEA. However, there’s a new Bill in town…

Bringing on the Bipartisanship:

S718 (The Making Education Affordable and Accessible Act (MEAA)
**As of this writing, there is no text version of the Bill available from Congress.gov)
**Because the Bill’s acronym is so close to  ‘meow’, I’m using a cat theme for the rest of the article.

Quick facts:
1) There are 4 Senators aponsoring/co-sponsoring this ‘cat-nip’ bill: Franken (MN); Peters (MI); Cassidy (LA), and, Boozman (AR).
2) Because ”bipartisan” can be claimed, so can the ‘litter box’ contents that come with this Bill.

3) Because it helps lay a deceptive ‘mouse trap’ for citizens involved in higher education, we need to watch for the ‘claws’ being used to pull us in.

4) Since the text version of S718 isn’t  available just yet, we can find out much information about it from the Sponsor’s official press release. Senator Peters’ website reveals the following ‘cat treats’:

5) Not only do we have 4 Senators behind this Bill, there are also 2 House of  Representatives involved in this: Polis, CO and Reed, NY. This makes the Bill ‘bicameral’.

**Warriors, this should be a sign that federally led education is NOT a single party creation! Both mainstream parties are extending the overreach. Think of it as the ‘litter box smell’ that can’t be contained.

6) This is not the first time a Bill seeking to make college ‘more affordable and accessible’ has been attempted in recent history. It’s the same ‘mouse trap’, just designed a bit differently.

7) The targeted group for S718? High school students! The ‘stealthy’ Bill will ‘providing grants to eligible institutions of higher learning to create dual and concurrent enrollment and early/middle college programs..’

**Warriors, ESSA’s State required accountability reports must include dual enrolled, concurrent enrolled, and early/middle college programs. It also streamlines ALL education in high schools OR these programs to be aligned to WIOA’s requirements for post-secondary readiness! It also streamlines teachers and their training. Talk about ‘claws’ being dug into our citizens…

8) Sen. Peters’ comments included: “Some form of higher education or technical certification is increasingly essential to joining today’s workforce, and the rising cost of tuition should not be a barrier that keeps students from getting the skills and education they need to succeed,” said Senator Peters. “I’m proud to introduce this bipartisan legislation that helps students save money while getting a head start on their college education. The Making Education Affordable and Accessible Act will help ensure students are well-prepared for their chosen careers and employers have trained workers to fill the jobs of the future.”

9) Sen. Cassidy’s comments included: “In order to bring high-skilled, well-paying jobs with good benefits to Louisiana and our nation, we need a highly capable workforce. This bill provides a next step in training American workers for the jobs of tomorrow.”

10) AR’s Senator: “This legislation creates an affordable opportunity for students to develop real-world skills employers need while pursing higher education. These programs have been beneficial in Arkansas by helping prepare students to enter the workforce as future employees for local businesses,” Senator Boozman said.

11) Sen. Franken’s“Our commonsense, bipartisan bill would help more high school students earn college credits before they pay a dime in tuition—and it could also support professional development opportunities for educators in Minnesota who teach courses in dual enrollment programs. ” (*Note: to see Sen. Franken’s other workforce based education offering, click here.)

12) From CO“Allowing more students to attain college credit while still in high school puts them on a clear track to achieve a college degree and excel in the workforce,” Representative Polis said.

13) From Rep. ReedDual and concurrent enrollment programs offer students quality educational options that will prepare them for meaningful careers. “

14) Look below for the seemingly innocent ‘meows’ from CCSS Machine member groups. Warriors, it’s not innocent. It’s a purposed, planned, and ‘roar-like’ call for conformity!
(*Note: Sen. Peters’ press release has all the CCSS Machine reguritated supportive statements from each of the Groups below.)

Warriors, we MUST rein in the federal overreaches! We can no longer act like kittens when it comes to our nation and the aligned direction it is being set to. We must be the tigers and tigresses. If you live in any of the States these Senators and Representatives are from, be encouraged to reach out to them concerning this.

Keeping It Local

Warriors Against the Core, we all know how great it can be to have things available to us without having to go too far from home. BUT, what happens when all the ‘local’ education becomes anything but local?!

We enjoy not having to travel  so far to recieve an education. We need to keep in mind it’s set up for us by those who live far away. We WILL have to adhere to its constraints..like it or not.

It should go without saying that the constraints will include Common Core, in one of its many forms.

The CC Forms Are ‘A-plenty’, But Hardly Original Or Local:

As we know, CC is only one form of the modern education reform’s educratic buzz word ‘game’. There’s the more adult form of CC: CTE (Career Tech Education); then, there’s STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math); there’s STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math); NGSS (Next Gen Science Standards); NGSS (Next Gen Social Studies); C3 (College, Career, Civics Life); CPs (Career Pathways); AAI (American Apprencticeship Iniatiative); CCR (College/Career Readiness), and, probably others we’ve yet to hear about.

The goal, regardless of the name, is the same: Workforce based education for 21st competency based learners.

As we know, none..not ONE of the above alphabet soup names is locally written, created, inspired, or otherwise fashioned together after. Every bit of the programs above is in the CCSS Machine from a top-down force. I do not mean a D.C. to your backyard force, I mean a globally driven force.

So, it should be NO surprise that when we wake up in our homes across America to face another day, we find the CCSS Machine has made one more stride toward us. Today, it may target your little ones; tomorrow, it might be the adults who are targeted; the following day could see our learners who are gifted tapped for the Machine. We may find that our special needs students will also be ‘blessed’ with educratic reform.

The point of the CCSS Machine is that NO age group will escape the top-down education reform.

The Proof Is Right Before Us:

Maybe you’ve seen, Warriors, the ads on social media for education grants awarded to those citizens in America over 50. That’s right, those over the “Golden Age” can get ‘free money’ to go back to school. But, what real LOCAL influence will these people receive if and when they go back to the classroom?

freeseniors

In the picture above, the article shared that across America, certain community colleges waived tutition for students over 60.

That’s great, right? I mean, who doesn’t love free stuff?! But, as I’ve shared with you time and time again, our community colleges are being used as workforce education mills for the CCSS Machine.

If I’m one of these lovely elderly citizens, I may not know that by going to college for ‘free’ is laced with workforce agenda. If you know someone like this, share my  August 2016 article detailing the CCSS Machine’s power grab for citizens ages 50 and over.

Wait, though…what if I’m a student under age 50?! What waits for me at my local community college or for-profit school?

The CCSS Machine Grinds On:

Warriors, you know we’ve seen and heard plenty to prove CCSS is after the zero to post-secondary set. Somehow, that’s EASY to talk about. But, no matter how much evidence surfaces for those above a college graduate level (say, around 30 years and older), the conversations become hushed, or worse, non-existent.

It’s also quite okay to say CCSS is infiltrating public education. Try using that mindset backed by evidence for all the other school choices and you can be laughed at, scoffed at, or, my favorite; wearing your tin foil hat a bit too tight.

Since we know the CCSS Machine is linked to the UN’s Master Agenda, we should be ready admit that NO AGE limit is to be free and safe from the reform happening.

So, why was education chosen as the ‘silver bullet’ of the change agents?
Education is an on-going process. It is open to any age limit. Learning, without the CCSS Machine, is a natural progression.

Ah, The Aligned and Defined:

Community Colleges, as I’ve proven before are the ideal location for the CCSS Machine to grasp anyone who’s not been its grasp before. How? Think about it, home educated students often choose (or have chosen for them) their local community colleges for dual enrollment, or, as a stop gap between their K-12 education and any further education. Community colleges welcome those who are between careers, needing to take a course of two for their job, rehabilitate a person who’s been in prison, or, anyone going back to school after some absence.

Community Colleges are also beacons in their respective towns. Local taxpayer funds go into these schools..but so do federal dollars. Warriors, that, as we know, is the downfall of every single State in the United States. The local control, the local say completely gets muted when federal funds are involved. So, what’s the latest anti CCSS News as far as community colleges go? How will this news impact any age person who attends a community college?

The Digital “Do-Gooders”:

Warriors, if you’ve not clicked on any of the embedded links so far, you won’t know how ESSA, WIOA, and HEA (Every Student Succeeds Act/Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act/Higher Education Act) are woven into every age group.

That stated, I am positive, you, as an  anti CCSS Warrior, do know about the ‘digital do-gooders’. You know them by their name or their sales pitches. These are the companies which act ‘educational’ with their computer, devices, software, and ‘personalized learning’.

These are the companies which have lobbyists championing the ‘ditch the traditional textbook and let’s get everyone on-line’ sales pitch. All the while, the legislators stare googly-eyed at the prospect of how going 100% digital will make them an ‘education rock star’ with the voters back home. If you believe the hype, there’s so much digital goodness to be had in education, it’s a wonder the entire nation isn’t running over with saints!

One such company, Vital Source has created a wonderful (and I do mean it sarcastically) guide of digital ‘do-goodness’ for EdSurge (a sold out CCSS Machine member organization).

vitalsurge
This short video will show you how all the digital goodness (in this case the data mining) will work together to help your school.

If you are an educator, this video will show you have to ‘leverage’ data for better ‘personalized learning’.

For those who are in the school leadership positions, Google’s using the digital opportunities to include school administrators in the data sharing of what goes on in the classroom. See this article.

Closing:

Warriors, make no mistake, the CCSS Machine has proven time and time again, that by every available means, it is out to assimilate everyone in its path. The question is, how willing are we to stop this?
