America’s Challenge

Hello Anti Fed Ed Warriors! We’re hours away from America’s Independence Day celebrations. While you’re passing around the hamburgers, hot dogs, fries, and drinks, why not pass around a petition as well?!

jeffersonwords

Independence Day has always been about celebrating freedom.

However, when’s the last time you read the Declaration of Independence? Did you know it has a citizen’s ‘charge’ in it as to what to do with the government should it become ‘against’ the people?!

decright

Warriors, why are we not exercising our RIGHTS to alter government where it concerns education?! Why are we NOT protesting in DROVES about the illegally based U.S. Dept. of Education and U.S. Dept. of Labor merging?!

Sure, we say we KNOW federal overreach in education is wrong, but what are we DOING about it?! Are we waiting for the government fairies to whack DC leaders over the head and HOPE they realize the overreaches are unconstitutionally based?

difference

Are we going to sit and watch our students (and ourselves) be overrun by the CCSS Machine and turned into workforce minions? I encourage you to meet my fictitious family, The Wannabees. They’ll show you exactly HOW the merging of education and labor is as un-American as it can be.

twainwords

Signing the petition is a great first step to doing something besides acknowledging corruption. We the People could have a choice seat at the ‘table’ to complete our civil duties as citizens!

If you don’t realize just how BAD the merger between Ed and Labor will be for all of US, I urge you to gather the folks around the picnic table and watch this video WHILE you pass the anti merger petition around! The video is one I’ve featured before and is all about the European Union’s education/labor pipeline. If that’s not enough to set your charcoal on fire, U.S. Secretary of Education, DeVos wants the merger so we CAN be just LIKE those European nations with such systems(*Note: the Prevent Common Core website I referred to in the archived link above, seems to no longer exist.)

What will really set off your fireworks is this is EXACTLY the same ‘global education for all’ BS the United Nations has been pushing and implementing right under most of America’s noses! This workforce based education is one DeVos and Trump’s daughter, Ivanka, regularly stump for.

Closing:

Warriors, this Independence Day, make sure your voices are loud, clear, and stronger than your beverage of choice! Sign the petition, get out there, and demand our leaders GET OUT of education! We only have until July 24, 2018 to gather at least 100,000 signatures. As of this writing, 1,480 Americans has said “NO!”. We want education to be academic, not workforce prep.
So, there’s our American challenge: can we be Warriors strong enough to exercise our civic duty as laid out in the U.S. Declaration of Independence?!

No Enigma Here

It’s a new work week, Warriors. While I’m sure you’ve heard the news that once again, the voices of those who cherish freedom were ignored, know that we MUST fight on.

If you have not heard the news the American control of our internet is gone. Several credible media sources have shared this. So, I won’t beat the news over your head. I’m sure other anti CCSS Warriors have also given much time to research and writing on this particular event. However, the internet and all that goes with it are  DEFINITE players in education.
So, what am I adding to the research/information?  Please check it out below.

Happening Now or Has Happened Not Too Long Ago:

I’ve previously shared with you about the White House led “Educate to Innovate”. Rather than share that article here, I wanted for us to look at the Initiative now. Especially since it is at our President’s bidding that our internet is no longer ours.

This is from their website. To see more: http://www.educatetoinnovate.org/
A big clue to the CCSS Machine alignment is the NSF (National Science Foundation).
If you’ve missed any of what I’ve dug up on them, just search the blog for them. You’ll find out just how sold out this government entity is.

ICANN, Our New Internet Manager:

As I stated above, there’s lots of information out about ICANN ( Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers). However, if you’ve not seen what ICANN does, here’s a short video about them.

While this may not sound to you like we’ve just lost our 1st Amendment freedom of speech, note that the capacity to neuter our voices has just ICANNeased (increased) tremendously!

So how will ICANN influence education? Look below:

I found this information on the ICANN Labs page. Guiding you through how great these 4 ‘innovation tracks’ is Chris Gift.

Who is Christ Gift? ICANN has a very brief bio: https://www.icann.org/profiles/chris-gift
I didn’t have much luck finding his previous internet related jobs.

What Else I Found:

Gates Foundation’s grant of $3,000,000.00 to the Education Superhighway, ES. ES has been busy helping try to sway the elections in November AS well as continue to align America’s schools to the internet.

International Data Mining Conference:

I also found the upcoming (Dec. 2016) International Data Mining Conference. Known as ICDM (IEEE International Conference on Data Mining). What is the IEEE (? That’s the world’s largest organization for technical engineers! Their main goal? Increasing the global digital footprint.  See: https://www.ieee.org/index.html

Below is a screen shot of the workshops already planned. I’ve given a very brief description of each workshop. Two things I noticed, when looking into each of these workshops. a) That each workshop casts an open call for ANYONE connected to data mining to submit research/influence opinions, etc. b) That each workshop has a committee of leaders, often who are representatives from the CCSS Machine. Look at how many of these will be used in education.

Happening 10/4/16:

The IEEE is using October 4, 2016 as the “Leveraging Technology for a Better Tomorrow” Day. Now, why did I put this AFTER the December Conference information? By you seeing WHAT IEEE/ICDM are doing, you can better arm your students on 10/4.
1) It’s a global day full of celebrating locations. Lots in the USA and many targeting girls.

2) In 2015, there were over 640 global events, 100 global ambassadors, and lots of photos.

3) The USA is not in an assigned region nor do we have an ambassador, yet we are hosting events.

IEEE, ICANN, and a CCSS Machine member organization can be traced back to 1999. I found this one. Educause is a well known CCSS Member.

Closing:

I leave you with a video I shot this past weekend. It’s not fancy, it’s not glamorous. It IS, however, important in light of the upcoming elections. We MUST use the season to inform others! We CANNOT afford to elect people who will help continue the handing over of our freedoms; aligning our education to fit the CCSS Machine; and harming our children!! We need leaders who will LISTEN to us. We also need leaders who wish to keep America, American.

WYBI: Career Ready

Common Core beyond American shores is one thing. CCR (College/Career Readiness), also Common Core aligned, now reaches beyond America as well. Find out more in today’s post.

AIR (American Institutes for Research) is a well documented Common Core Standards supporter..to say the least I care to about this organization. So, to know the group is pushing CCR beyond America..that’s a ‘Would you believe it?’ Wednesday moment.

The Map:

In the screen shot from Twitter above, you’ll notice the tweet is bragging about all the places CCR is now. Yes, I understand that every state and territory mentioned is considered American, but what IF CCR were in OTHER countries? Can we find the relationship? (we’ll get back to those questions in a bit, first, let’s see what the map will reveal.
Access the map: http://www.ccrscenter.org/

Okay, you know where I’m going with this. Click on a state, for my post, we’ll use NC (since I live there) as our example. According to this website page, my state is all hooked into CCR (College/Career Readiness) (aka CCSS or CTE, Career Tech Education). But, then, why wouldn’t it be? (if you’ve been following Common Core long you’ll know why NC is so easily identifiable with CCSS). I get big topics like “AP incentives”;”Dual Enrollment” (that got a new nickname, by the way, “College, Career Promise”; “Alignment” between secondary and post-secondary schools; and more. If I am really curious enough, I can be linked to Achieve, Inc.’s website that’s exclusive to NC’s alignment in all this. Nothing says ‘objectivity’ like using pro CC bias resources, now does it? If I’m curious about all the NC students being able to graduate, I can be linked to Johns Hopkins University’s “Everybody Graduates”. What’s the purpose of “Everybody”? From my brief visit to the NC page, I’d have to say it isn’t about the ‘people’ in ‘everybody’, rather the ‘product’ of ‘everybody’. Here are their words, “With a 90 percent graduation rate, the additional graduates could deliver an estimated $97 million in increased annual earnings, $13 million in increased annual state and local tax revenues, and an increase in the Gross State Product of $173 million.” Yes, IF everybody in NC graduates, this is what the state would get: $173 million.

There are many other CCR components AIR can offer you, if you like. http://www.ccrscenter.org/ccrs-landscape/state-profile

“Doing Better”:

AIR isn’t done with students yet. If you click on the image below, you’ll see I highlighted 2 tweets for you. In the first bubble, you’ll see education issues that span from PreK to college. The second gives you a link to access. So, I did. I got “How Can We Better Equip Our Kids for Life After High School.” Hhmmm..note the ‘we’/’our’ verbiage. Nice touch, there AIR. I doubt you’d seriously subject your students to CCR/CCSS/CTE so, why pretend to care about mine?

Career ready via AIR Institute, a pro CCSS group.
Career ready via AIR , a pro CCSS group.

AIR’s View of “Our” Problem:

According to the website’s post “How We Can Better Equip…” (see: http://www.ccrscenter.org/products-resources/blog/how-can-we-better-equip-students-life-after-high-school) The entire problem America faces is “Ensuring that all students graduate high school ready for a successful academic life or career has become a national priority.” There is much more detail about the problem, but you need to read it for yourselves. Their solution? Again, very detailed AND with ’empirical evidence’ to boot, “If we want to prepare students to succeed in their educational and career pursuits, we must pay attention to the full spectrum of knowledge and skills proven to be essential for success, including those that lie beyond the core academic disciplines.”  So, how DO you solve this?? According to the author’s research and ties to AIR, we redefine WHAT CCR means. That’s so NOT how to help our students!! You cannot solve a problem simply by redefining WHAT your parameters are!

So, Is CCR in other countries?

I found this from the European Union:

At least the EU is upfront about their career readiness.
At least the EU is upfront about their career readiness.

To see the rest of their position: education_training_youth_and_sport_en
China’s stance for CCR is still referred to as Vocational Education (in America, Vo Tech Ed got a makeover to CCR/CTE). See China’s stance on Vo Tech Ed:
 http://www.chinaeducenter.com/en/cedu/vel.php

Brazil has a whopping amount of money dedicated for education that will also help the nation’s economy. See: http://www.infobae.com/2014/06/01/1569283-dilma-rousseff-es-absurdo-decir-que-el-mundial-le-quito-dinero-la-educacion (you should be asked for a translation to English)

I’m not going to highlight every country, but I have given you a brief look at some of the biggest groupings of countries so you can get the general idea. CCR is alive all over the globe. Here’s the link to the article I wrote about “Workforce” in America that shared Europe’s “Learning for Jobs”. Be sure to access the study, the video to see what I mean.

What the U.S. Dept. of Ed Has in All This:

No article about CCSS is truly complete without the US Dept. of Ed.; especially where CCR and international matter intersect. Check their International Education website out:

http://www2.ed.gov/about/inits/ed/internationaled/international-strategy-2012-16.html

Get the strategy plan: international-strategy-2012-16 *Note: what’s interesting about the strategy (at least from my perspective) is that while all the aligning is going on, it’s being referred back to ANOTHER study from the Council on Foreign Relations (see: TFR68_Education_National_Security). In THIS report you’ll find the statements that express the sentiment of US education being a national security issue. What’s totally ironic is that one of the leaders of the Council was Mrs. Rice (as in Condeleeza). Mrs. Rice was recently named head of Jeb Bush’s Foundation for Excellence in Education (see: http://www.sunshinestatenews.com/story/condoleezza-rice-takes-reigns-jeb-bushs-education-foundation). FEE is steeped in all things CCSS/CCR/CTE

Career Ready students..everywhere, but here’s the question. Is that what the students want OR what someone else wants? IF it’s what the students want, then WHY is someone else aligning the course?
