Oh, my Anti Fed Ed Warriors, we’ve survived yet another election. My hat is tipped to those men and women who ARE against federally led education who ran for office. From what I know, most of them were beaten out by the Establishment. For shame, we need Warriors in power! However, the focus of my article is about the real loser in the 2018 elections: American education.
Education has been reduced to absurdity by the educrats in DC, State and local levels and well as the CCSS Machine. The November 6th, 2018 elections did ZERO to correct this absurdity, either.
In fact, I’ll wager my research, that if anything, the election results will INCREASE the amount of absurdity in education! This might be funny if it weren’t such a nightmare reality for our students, teachers, parents, and taxpayers. So how has this absurdity been pulled off? Delphi Techniques with a dash of Hegelian Dialect thrown in.
Delphi Technique And Hegelian Dialect Moves:
Warriors, Delphi Technique has been used on us many, many times by the CCSS Machine. You know, you go to a school related meeting, you’re placed in groups, given questions and asked to come up with solutions. Then, the results are shared with those asking for your input, yet very few of your solutions appear. What does? The preconceived solutions by the ‘system’.
This type of move gives you a false sense of involvement while the CCSS Machine retains control.
So, what’s the Hegelian Dialect? That’s another type of control method, only it’s done by controlling thoughts. From the Bitter Realities blog it’s described as a “framework for guiding our thoughts and actions into conflicts that lead us to a predetermined solution.”
The effect is, that, once inside that ‘predetermined solution’, you can’t see reality.
.For example, the title of the federal law known as ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act) is a Hegelian Dialect move.
How? By using carefully placed wording it impressed on the nation a predetermined solution that all students wouldsucceed. The Hegelian Dialect manipulates, as does ESSA. The Hegelian Dialect is a Communist tactic to drive economics.
Guess what? ESSA’s mandates for college/career readiness and workforce aligned education are also a Communist tactic to create worker drones, not educated citizens.
Put the 2 methods (Delphi and Hegelian) together and you’ve got quite a slick sales pitch. Look below at the example when the two are combined.
Seker’s Research (2015)(*Note: this will take you to the page to download the Research paper) If you’d like to see my latest IEEE article, visit here.
From the “In Defense of Our Nation” blog, this description of how We the People are being Delphied and Hegelianized to the point of frenzy, “This is how the dialectical process works and it is present in nearly all social issues confronting America. From global warming to health care, from gun control to wealth inequality we are being led to believe that we are overwhelmed with problems that only government can solve, and to solve them they need us to relinquish more of our God given liberty.”
Warriors, apply this all to education. Then, consider the elections. Those who’ve won, what types of words did they use in the campaign for education? What type of statements were given during the victory speeches?
From the ones I’ve read it’s more of the ESSA mandates in Hegelian terms.
For example, ‘more vocational classes’. Since ESSA embedded WIOA (Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act) there’s already nothing BUT vocational education. They are called Career Tech Education (CTE), Career Clusters, Career Pathways, and STEM (Science, Technology,Engineering, and Math). Back in 2006, ‘vocational tech’ was re-branded to CTE..on purpose. That purpose? Common Core aligned workforce education. When ESSA was passed into law, Common Core was re-branded to ‘challenging State Academic Standards’/’college and career readiness’/post-secondary readiness’.
Bring On the Reductio Ad Absurdum!
Warriors, if you’ve not heard of ‘reductio ad absurdum’ it’s Latin for “Reduced to Absurdity”. Another psychological tactic to mess with our heads and our hearts. The CCSS Machine uses this one, too. So do educrats. How does reducing things to absurdity work? Look below:
What reduction to absurdity about education that’s been uttered by several victors in the 2018 elections have we all heard? “Expansion of school choice”. Warriors, ‘school choice’ as we know it has gone.
That’s due to ESSA’s mandate that ALL education be aligned to post-secondary readiness as laid out by the industry credentialed standards in WIOA.
When all education is the same, how can we realistically expand it? You can’t. The CCSS Machine (and DC) knows this.
You cannot improve on 100%. The true absurdity is that these people in power will actually REDUCE choices in education. Why or how? Their States are being strung along by the top-down federal control to bow to the United Nations and the global shift in education. That shift? Workforce preparation, not academics.
This has ZERO to do with political parties and EVERYTHING to do with being controlled. So, since we all have to live together and work together, help fellow citizens out. Help those newly elected officials out. SHOW them how we’re all being manipulated to meet the CCSS Machine’s agenda in education.
Welcome to Part Two of my series devoted to those running for elections, especially the school board positions across America. Like this Weekend’s article, it is lengthy, but you MUST know this information! Your schools depend on it.
Of all the grade groups Common Core Standards have impacted, the K-12th group has been the most talked about, the most publicized. If you have followed my blog long enough OR heard any of my speeches, chats, or interviews, you know that I have purposed to expose the CCSS Machine in all the other areas and educational choices. However, I have plenty to share with you concerning the K-12th grade group, too. For example, if you are seeking office, did you know there was an initiative which set CCSS into motion? (and which the ESSA will continue?!) For starters, see the picture below of the track Pre-K-12th graders are experiencing thanks to Common Core State Standards Initiative!
The CCSSI (Common Core State Standards Initiative):
What do I mean by the CCSS Initiative? Simply put it refers to the entire scope of not only the CCS Standards, but the agenda which accompanies it; the resources (including curriculum and assessments); and ANYTHING else connected to the Common Core.
As many anti CCSS Warriors have stated since the ESSA’s passage, we have been lied to about this! As a candidate of any race where education will be impacted, this is probably the single MOST important information you can glean from this series!! Do not simply take the mass media or Congress’s word for it, we ARE NOT free from the Common Core State Standards Initiative!
The only references I have found to the CCSSI (Common Core State Standards Initiative) in the ESSA Final Conference Report (that over 1,000 page bill no one in Congress appears to have bothered to read) were located on page 130 (pertaining to standards and assessments), page 825 (pertaining to educational waivers), page 843 (pertaining to financial support from the federal government and how its officials/representatives are limited), page 859 (‘‘(a) IN GENERAL.—Nothing in this Act shall be construed to prohibit a State from withdrawing from the Common Core State Standards or from otherwise revising their standards.”)
Now, if you only stop there, as both the U.S. Congress and the mass media did, you can say this language means exactly what it says, that the States were no longer tied to the Common Core!
Candidates, think of it this way, “Whatever happens in Las Vegas stays in Las Vegas.” Educational federal law plays the same game, whatever started in the ESEA was carried over each time to some degree or another until the ESSA. ESSA, however, makes the previous versions look like a powder puff.
Alphabet Soup, D.C. Style:
Before we ‘dig in’ to the ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act of 2015) to learn how it will continue the Initiative behind Common Core:
1) Know that the ESEA (Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965) got replaced with ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act) in between these two? NCLB (No Child Left Behind) followed by the RttT Initiative (Race to the Top).
2) Know that STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math), STEM to STEAM (same as STEM with the Arts added in), WIOA (Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act of 2014), CTE (Career Tech Education), CP (Career Pathways) are also woven into the ESSA Law. (*Note: If you did not know that STEM is part of the Presidential agenda for education, I urge you to read one of my very first blog articles where the Report detailing HOW STEM was the among the ultimate goals of aligning America via the CCSS! See: https://commoncorediva.wordpress.com/2014/09/02/from-the-files-pcast-stem-and-common-core/)
Why you, as a candidate, need to know this? STEM is a huge selling point among the States for not only education, but for a workforce. STEM is also woven into the WIOA of 2014!
As a candidate, knowing which alphabet soup acronym stands for which one is important.
One more game D.C. has played with us about all this? The ESSA’s Final Conference Report has been reduced to a mere 391 page law! You will find all of the same points from the Report embedded in the Law, just not as wordy. We need the entire context so we can know how we are being duped into the lie that CCSS will no longer be a player in American Education! You can access both documents in Part One of this series.
From the ESSA Language Itself:
One thing you can count on is this, the shift in name fromCommon Core State StandardstoCollege and Career Readiness as well as Challenging State Academic Standards, is about the only shifting there will be, as far as names.
You have to look harder at the Law. As evidence look on Pages 5 & 6. Here the tricky language begins. It’s context is about what programs will continue to receive multi-year funding and which won’t
(As a candidate, you need to know which programs in your school districts receive multi year funding and were provided for under the old ESEA (Elementary and Secondary Act of 1965), NCLB, RttT, you need to read this passage so you can understand how the ESSA will continue select programs.)
Why this is important: it is to cover the TRANSITION from one law to another!
Speaking of transitions, look at Page 7 where you will see what the Secretary of the U.S. Dept. of Education is in charge of in regards to the States! “ORDERLY TRANSITION.—Subject to subsection (a)(1)(A)(i), the Secretary shall take such steps as are necessary to provide for the orderly transition to, and implementation of, programs authorized under the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 (20 U.S.C. 6301 et. seq.), as amended by this Act, from programs authorized under the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 (20 U.S.C. 6301 et seq.), as in effect on the day before the date of enactment of this Act.”
Pages which follow this excerpt lay out the dates for the transitioning to begin. As early as July 1, 2016, folks!
Other Pages and Sections, You as the Candidate MUST Research:
Section 6, embeds all of the old ESEA into the new Law.
Section 1002, gives a grand total of the federal money to be awarded among the 50 States for the next few fiscal years. You, as the candidate, need to see the amounts, as well as the strings attached (ie: assessments).
Section 1003 details the strings attached to Section 1002.
Section 1004 details all the ‘Direct Student Services’.As part of the ‘Services’, this is where you can see the WIOA and CTE begin to appear for elementary and secondary students. It is here you will see the AP(Advanced Placement) Courses and IB (International Baccalaureate) students encompassed. How will this make a difference in your candidacy? The amount of funding your State receives and the hoops the LEAs (local education agencies) are to use the funding. Not only that, but jobs mean money for your States. The economic health of America has been a huge selling point from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce (courtesy of Bill Gates Foundation) and has been passed on to each State via the Chambers of Commerce. You will also see that in this Section, parents and higher education are also included in the alignment mix.
Section 4107 details for you what is meant by “Activities To Support a Well-Rounded Student”. As a candidate, you need to know this is where the P3s (public private partnerships) will have an increased presence in the classroom, where communities are expected to align and help educate all students, and more! As part of the ‘Activities’, this is where you will see STEM really focused on.
Section 4108 details all the ‘Activities to Support Safe and Healthy Students’ your state must have (includes sex ed, behavior management, assessments, mental services, and so much more) As a candidate, read page 447 very carefully, as well as the immediate pages around it.
Section 4109 goes into all the digital and technology strings for education. This is a huge point of every school district and state budget. Read it, candidates!
Section 8005 State funding for elementary/secondary administration consolidation plans. (Remember, candidates, follow the money trail from the top down) Section 8201 goes into more detail about money States receive from the federal government.
Page 489 begins the 21st Century Community Learning Centers. As a candidate, you need to know this is going to totally transform not only your local schools, but your communities. This Initiative is a huge part of the CCSS Machine! It has roots in not only the White House, but a entity called the Partnership for 21st Century Skills. If you do not know about this, PLEASE contact me, I will be happy to provide the information you really need to know!
Page 905 states what the U.S. Dept. of Education’s Secretary will oversee in each of the 50 States concerning the homeless students.
Page 910 gives you the requirements each State must meet per the U.S. Dept. of Education Secretary for every grant and sub-grant the States receive.
Page 911 details the assurances States must provide the U.S. Dept. of Education Secretary with each year.
Page 919 introduces the phrase “Ed Flex Partnership State” and will be given to every State meeting the U.S. Dept. of Education Secretary’s conditions. As a candidate, you need to read what those parameters mean.I urge you to read from page 919 to 941 so you can see how private schools are included. Of special note to you will be page 937 where the general public is to be informed of any State educational application for waivers (means money for your State and local districts). Also, page 938 points to a bridge (if you will) between elementary and secondary education to post-secondary education via Perkins funding.
Candidates, is there more that will impact your K-12th graders? ABSOLUTELY! Will it be only the public schools hit by this? NO! Run your race with integrity, with truth, and with everything you can to kill the CCSSI! Part Three will address the post-secondary alignment of education according to the CCSS Machine.
We humans are complex, wonderfully made creatures. We’ve been hanging around on Earth for quite a while. We’re anything but ‘common’..So my riddle today is this: Since we’re so complex, how can we expect a set of constricting, common standards to serve us well? Common Core Standards seek to level the educational landscape..NOT enhance it to a level that even comes close to growing a complex human’s mind to capacity!!
Look to the the past:
Looking way, way back in our timeline, you have to admit there are some extremely impressive ‘dudes’ and ‘dudettes’. They didn’t have the internet, cell phones or cars, yet, the men and women of the past created some extremely jaw-dropping items. If you’re like me, by now you’ve heard so much about ‘we’re training for jobs not created yet’, I want to scream! Why? Because only a person totally ignorant of history would accept this line of malarkey! Folks back then had NO CLUE about their future or their future jobs any more than we do, YET they lived, learned, and were successful!! Gee, and all without Common Core Standards and the entire industry that surrounds it! HOW did these people do it?! Simple. They learned what they needed to from each other. They ‘collaborated’. They persevered. “Formal education” first popped up in Babylon. Not just communication, but hunting and warfare. Granted, we don’t need so many of these same skills today as much as then. For a truly fascinating look at our educational timeline, refer to this website:
However we look at ourselves, the fact remains, we’re all basically the same, so why should our educational goals need to be so ‘global’?
Look the the marketing:
One of the reasons, I believe, we have to be so ‘global’ is because we’re being told this via the marketing surrounding all the modern education reform. Frankly, we’ve always been ‘global’. It’s called ‘communication’! We’ve always had international relationships of sorts (it is called ‘compassion’). To hear some of the other talking points, the talking heads spew their messages, we all had no clue how to be a team player (aka: ‘collaborative’), how to critically think (‘to learn to problem solve before handed a puzzle’), to work hard and press on (‘rigor, grit and spit’) or to add 2 + 3 and get a simple answer of 5 in less than 3 seconds. No, to hear them, we’ve no CLUE before Common Core! No ‘context’ before the Standards! No ‘fluency’ before them! POPPYCOCK! IF this were remotely true, we’d somehow still be back in the caveman/cavewoman days. The same can be said for ‘the skills gap’, the ‘interest gap’, even the ‘poverty gap’. Why? Because through EVERY age there have been all these gaps..YET, things were learned, jobs were created and progress was made. I, know education is a mess in America, however, I do not believe basing educational change on lies, illegal standards and coercion is setting us up for ‘better, more, greater’ anything!!
So, how much money has gone in to ‘convincing’ you and I that the Common Core machine is our savior?? I know that many, many dollars have been devoted to the effort to sell the Core. However, in my mind, money is not the true measure of cost. It’s the heart, the soul, the desire of our students that I think and believe come at a much higher price. In my educator’s mind, it’s an easy answer, kids, students will always come before money or agenda! I really love the quote one of our anti CCSS legislators made earlier this year…before NC passed the law for a repeal of CC (which is in the review/repeal committee’s hands now). Mr. Speciale said, “”We sold our kids’ education, we sold their futures for $400 million. “We are not in a position to be experimenting with their futures.”” So, here’s another riddle for you. Did your state sell out your kids? If so, how much was the ‘pay out’? Which legislators are bold in the reclaiming of the students futures in your state?
Know the candidates:
With election season upon us, how well do you know the stance of each of the candidates when it comes to Common Core? How about STEM? Yes, I realize most folks think that one is bad and the other is good. However, research has been conducted, documents produced to show that CCSS is the vehicle for STEM, which is being driven into our lives, for even more top down control of we, the people! (look back to my PCAST, STEM and CC post) We MUST educate our candidates! The bottom line, Race to the Top funding may be all gone in your state, but LOOK at where it was placed. It set the roots for Common Core/STEM. As long as those roots are fed with MORE federal $$, the roots will become stronger. Kill Race to the Top funding, the programs it ‘infected’, you stand a greater chance of ridding your state of the Common Core machine. Most states, like the one I live in, are only paying attention to one side of the root system. It remains to be seen what our outcome will be, in the meantime, it will take citizens like us (you, the reader and I) to continue to expose the truth. Education is a local decision, not a federal one. Bottom line for election day: IF the candidate is pro CC, then the candidate is not elected!
