What She Said…

Anti Fed Ed Warriors, would you wait 4 or 5 years to enact your household budget or a family emergency plan? No! You’d make sure once you set a budget you’d immediately begin going by it.

Not so with our federal government’s involvement with education. Nope, ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act) was passed in Dec. 2015, we’re not far from its 5th anniversary. As federal laws go, especially for education, ESSA’s set to be re-authorized and funding extended in 2020.

One huge bone of contention about ESSA was the phrase ‘supplement not supplant’. (This was also in ESEA, Elementary and Secondary Education Act. ESSA is the re-authorized version of ESEA.)

devosled
Supplement Vs Supplant:

Why do I bring this up, Warriors?

Because Sec. DeVos has recently completed a new non-regulatory ‘Supplement, not Supplant’ guidebook for SEAs and LEAs (State Education Agencies, usually your State Dept. of Education) and Local Education Agencies).

The bottom line: While the document is supposedly a guideline, the language in ESSA is more of a mandate. Where will we most likely see ‘supplements’ in education? Title One funding, my Warrior friends. Title One, as we know, via ESSA, was made over to cover EVERY student, not those in the most need, as Title One was originally to cover. Title One funds, via ESSA, are to be used to label and categorize mental and behavioral health of EVERY student in the community, not simply the public school system.

Warriors, this new guidebook is the result of the federal government wanting to appear ‘flexible’ to each State. We’ve seen the ‘flexibility’ of the federally run education. There isn’t any. Especially when you consider that Page 17 of ESSA clearly states how ALL education is to be:

nochoice

Supposedly, the public was allowed time to give their feedback about how federally led education was to help supplement local education, not supplant it. Yet, when you look at the guidelines (which coach SEAs and LEAs on HOW to use federal funds in ADDITION to Title One), you don’t see the public’s desire to END federal control of education, you see the CCSS Machine’s grasp tighten the funding streams, just a wee bit more.

Two questions: How does this type of ‘guidance’ even begin to appear like local control in education? How does this further illustrate our example of sticking to a family budget instead of waiting 5 years to enact it?

Two answers: Guidance, via our federal government, is a dressed up mandate to conform. In education, conformity equals the ‘privilege’ of receiving federal funds.

As far as our example, with 5 years between making plans and enacting them, doesn’t do anything to achieve your goals. It’s a moot point. You’d have been better off to not make a budget if you won’t work to make it happen.

If any State TRULY wanted to be free of the federal intrusion in education at ALL age levels for ALL choices, the answer is a plain as day: DON’T take the money! It violates our Tenth Amendment!!the-capitol-view-return-to-sender-snqyhq-clipart

When you read the Supplement Not Supplant Guidelines, look at the language..’May a State do x,y, and z’? If the States weren’t addicted to the federal funds, no State leader would EVER need to ask the government, “Mother, May I?!”

Higher Education’s Accrediting Updates:

As if we’ve not been insulted enough by the DeVos leadership, we also have the President’s EO (Executive Order from 2017) about reforming accrediting bodies when it comes to higher education. DeVos, at her ‘boss’s’ beck and call, has also updated (aka: reformed) higher education. Warriors, again, it’s taken 2 years for this ‘reform’ to hit the States. The U.S. Dept. of Education’s Press Release was even more insulting. DeVos has been ‘rethinking’ higher education reform.
Really, this woman with ZERO educational background?

sadevos

To access the 28 Page document full of DeVos’s ‘thoughts’, go here. Below is a screen shot of the front page with added emphasis.

accredit
While I do recognize we need to rein in predatory accrediting and higher education schools, it should be a locally led charge, not a federally run dictated system.

This Accrediting document even has the same “States must report to the federal government”, as we’ve seen in ESSA. Let’s also take into account that EOs bypass Congress, therefore, bypassing “We the People”. With education, NO federal official, President Trump included, should have power to interfere.
US fed statute

With the HEA (Higher Education Act) currently under re-writing for re-authorization, we know more mandates and compliance will be forced upon the States.

Below, is a graphic image I made back when DeVos had just been confirmed as Secretary of Education. As you’ll see, Dr. King was still around. I left his name so Warriors could see the status quo in the CCSS Machine would live on.

devosarrow

Closing:

Warriors, we MUST Repeal ESSA, HEA, and even, WIOA as soon as possible. If we don’t more DeVos (or whomever’s appointed to take federal education to the next level) reforms will be visited upon us. (*Note: ESSA: Every Student Succeeds Act; HEA: Higher Education Act); WIOA (Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act))
Do you think our budgets can withstand this type of tyranny? I don’t!

insult

*Two personal notes:
a) While I will continue to do my best to keep you up to date on the overreaches of the CCSS Machine, I also am having to divide my time between education and a recent nasty turn of events concerning my neighborhood. Homes on my block are being targeted to be impacted by a road widening project involving a P3 (public private partnership) contract. We are facing a long and uphill battle to save our homes. As America marches more toward the UN’s (United Nations) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), we’ll ALL see this happen more and more.

b) Breaking News Journal has honored me with taking all my Common Core Diva visual content and placing in on their Roku channel. BNJ is a Christian based national network and survives on view funding (much like PBS without the agenda). If you’d like to donate to BJN, go here. BJN is also on Facebook. BJN has also partnered with Bears and Lord Network. B & L has a phone app where you can find out the latest anti Fed Ed News, too! B & L has graciously added my content (from Twitter) there. RBF (Really Big Fad) In Education?

Anti Fed Ed Warriors, RBF really doesn’t stand for “Really Big Fad” in education, but it might as well. What IS “RBF” it’s the acronym for “Results Based Financing” in education.

RBFs are not only found in education, but other business industries. While the link I’ve provided shows other countries, as quickly as the US is embracing these, it’s only a matter of time before we’re saddled up for these returns/results.

Wait, Lynne, is education a business industry?! Yes, Warriors, that’s exactly what education’s been turned into: an industry. The ‘fodder’ for the industry? Our students and teachers. Those profiting? The corporations and P3s (Public Private Partnerships) in the CCSS Machine

Being squeezed out of the education industry? Teachers, leaders, and, most of all, PARENTS!

kisspng-bank-robbery-crime-clip-art-bank-robber-cliparts-5a8a0d587fa600.3009802115189968245229So, far, from what I’ve been able to find, the biggest ‘industry’ RBFs are used in is health care. RBFs are VERY popular in the global aspect (worldwide), too. Why not? After all, the World Bank is a huge part of RBFs.

If RBFs sound a bit confusing, think of it this way: Pay for success or vouchers.
That’s right, PfS and Vouchers ARE forms of RBFs. We saw PfS embedded in ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act). We see vouchers are a big kingpin to the current DC Administration’s stranglehold on education, too.

roundupWarriors, truth be told, ‘paying for success’ in ANYTHING, here in, the US isn’t new. But it IS rooted in several global political ‘isms which are anti American.

According to this website, PfS is a great way to ‘measure outcomes’. It also says that here in the US, the first PfS was in 2012. If you look at the makeup of the PfS in the ESSA law, you’ll see that it is Sen. Hatch’s example.

**Remember, Warriors, any time you see the federal government, education, and ‘outcomes’, it is THEIR goals and mandated targets you are to measure up to, NOT your own personal best.

Sale Clip Art #28912

Warriors, this is exactly how the CCSS Machine grinds on. The only ‘measured outcome’ the PfS or RBFs care about is simply this: are you workforce ready to have a job to boost the economy. This is exactly WHY the language of page 17 is SO important.

nochoice

Those ‘industry based standards’ are from WIOA, the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act, NOT an education law!

Warriors, we’re being set up to be nothing more than a society run worker!

Look at this emphasized screen shot:

worldbankrbf

Warriors, it’s super easy to see that this isn’t about people’s best interests in health care as it is about the economy being well ‘fed’.

Same with education! Here’s another visual from the same slide presentation. Imagine instead of health care, you see education.

WBrbfs

If you’d like to see the entire slide presentation, that link is here.

The RBFs, World Bank, And, Education:

Warriors, I found RBFs by a tip from a fellow Warrior who’s concerned with the overreaches in ruining our children’s lives. This Warrior found a group called IREX ( a global development and education organization. IREX is tied to the U.S. State Department’s USAID. As you know, I’ve tied USAID to the UN (United Nations) and the CCSS Machine many times.

What connects IREX and USAID? The World Bank.

***We’ll look at IREX in a bit, first, let’s see what else the World Bank has to offer us on RBFs and education.***

Remember, results based financing is mainly concerned with the investor’s bottom line, not your individual results. Why would this be most upsetting to us as parents, taxpayers, and teachers? Because it doesn’t respect the student’s differences in learning! All measured outcomes are the same, according to ESSA! Refer back to page 17 and the penguins above!

The ONLY measured outcome the CCSS Machine (thereby the federal government, too) will accept is College/Career Ready;  aka Common Core State Standards; aka CTE (Career Tech Education) for workforce ready drones.

essagoal

Think of it this way, Warriors, “results based financing” is a lot like the old ad slogans where you heard ‘results may vary’.

resultsvary

You knew once you heard this that what you ended up with may or may NOT be like everyone else’s results.

Warriors, what ESSA’s variety is, in reality, is ‘results will NOT vary’:

resultsnotvary
Why is there no ‘variety’ for Johnny and Suzy in THIS photo? All education MUST be the same. This means all curriculum, learning, teaching, resources, tests, related activities, and, on and on.

So, in this example those RBF investors are putting all their fruit into ONE basket!

This, my Warrior friends, is EXACTLY what the World Bank is encouraging!!!

Talk of variety (personalized learning) is muttered, but it’s absolutely a smokescreen. Don’t let your child become some corporation’s bottom line profit!

10302471_10203169225624495_1833918364104062719_n

IREX’s RBF In Education:

So, Warriors, since the World Bank is shoving RBFs in education in all corners of the world, what is IREX doing to support the WB and does it tie to the CCSS Machine?

First, IREX is short for International Research and Exchanges Board. From my 2018 article on IREX, look at their globalization plans for classrooms:

2018IREX

From the IREX 2018 Annual Report, their example of RBFs will strike very close to home, here in the US:

IREXcenters

To access the Annual Report, go here.

ESSA’s mandate for 21st Century Community Learning Centers was featured in this article from my archives.

Wizard-of-oz-clipart-kid-2

Related:
From 1974 a 215 page US/USSR report on exchanges in education and the economy.

IREX’s full list of donors (many are very easy to spot as CCSS Machine members).

Economic hoops States have to jump through to uphold the ESSA mandate for 21st Century Community Learning Centers (as the example from NC showed).

Months before ESSA was made into a federal law, the original intent for 21st Century Community Learning Centers. This fits right in with not only the RBFs, but big tech/big data, too.

Closing:

Remember, Warriors, 21st Century Learning Centers and Results Based Financing are not simply reserved for public education. They were created for public conformity.
We’d do well to become non-conformists as soon as possible. That way we can make RBFs stand for Really Bad Fiasco which We the People laid to rest.

Prerogatives Not Needed

Anti Fed Ed Warriors, have you ever looked at your children and told them that one day they would grow up and go work for ‘The Man’? Have you ever looked in the mirror and told yourself, ‘Gee, I’m glad I have to earn money for my boss today.”?

wannabees

Certainly not! What I imagine you’ve told them is the same thing you were told, ‘Go to school, get good grades and then see where life takes you’. For some of us, it was straight to work. Others left and went on to college. Some folks elected to do both, while others took a break and ‘found themselves’ before ‘getting on track’.

Warriors, these were all prerogatives for us. We had some choices, but they were OUR choices. In today’s educratic system, NO ONE has a true prerogative anymore. Some test tells Johnny and/or Suzy what they must complete in school  now to work somewhere else later. By the time the kids are in middle school, they already know where their future income is coming from.

For us as grownups? Our future’s just as aligned. We’re told we must update our ‘credentials’ via courses. We’re constantly monitored for ‘quality control’.

Every single education/job move we make isn’t so much about our U.S. Constitutionally guaranteed right to ‘pursue happiness’, it’s about checking off the boxes on a pre-determined list of where we’ll fit in best when it comes to the CCSS Machine.

This type of conformity appears to be the true goal of the merger between the U.S. Department of Education and U.S. Department of Labor. However, the conformity doesn’t END there.

We, the Anti Fed Ed Warriors, owe a huge debt of gratitude to a fierce Warrior, Karen Bracken. She created a ‘short and sweet’ petition to protest the planned merger. It was released Sunday, June 24th. As of today, June 27th, the petition has just over 1,000 signatures. Not only did I sign the petition, I’ve joined her in getting the word out as much as humanly possible. While 1,000 citizens speaking up is great, we’ve got to have 100,000 JUST to be recognized by the White House.
karenwords

Warriors, if we don’t speak LOUDLY, we cannot have a seat at the table to help STOP the merger!! The CCSS Machine cannot be allowed to continue this cycle of robbing our children (and ourselves) of our prerogatives as Americans!

ESSAskel

The framework to realign our federal government has a plethora of ways to continue the overreach into our lives. How? The biggest ‘change agent’ on the planet is education. (The source for THAT ‘sentiment’? The United Nations)

From what I found and can easily tie back to the CCSS Machine, the framework supporting the President’s Executive Order #13781 has close to 20 ways in which education is woven throughout. How?? Jobs and economy. My top 3 (based on research) are below:

eoframeworkedu

Many of the other ways in which the framework supports MORE educratic overreach surfaced back in 2017. When I researched and wrote that article, it was to detail the many federal departments with plans to align education to workforce, NOT simply Education and Labor! The framework for the President’s restructure has some of these same agencies shifting. The danger is simply this:

With existing alignment plans in place, how many will survive the moves to their ‘new homes’??? How many will be strengthened? How many will continue the ‘student data rape’ between the SLDS (Student Longitudinal Data System) and the WQDI (Workforce Quality Data Initiative? Will any of these aligned plans DIE in the moves?

complaceny

Warriors Speaking Out:

Recently, I made several posts and a few FB live videos to raise the truth about HOW this type of overreach is playing out. (*Note:  my live feeds aren’t professionally created. They are from my heart and passion about helping inform you with TRUTH. Yes, I make mistakes in them. The bottom line is not my popularity, it IS our nation. It IS our children. It IS about us. It IS my duty as an American to stand up and SPEAK OUT!)
homemadeantied

There are others speaking out about the fallacy of the merger. The most recent is from my friends and fellow Warriors at Freedom Project Media. My Warrior friend Nicholas Tampio has this to say. If you represent a group and wish to sign a letter directed to the President, go here. Nancy Bailey’s article protesting the merger shows how corporations ‘win’ while our kids suffer. Cheri Kiesecker’s written a scathing look at the merger for Missouri Education Watchdog.

We know Congress is acting like animals in heat over CTE (Career Tech Education) . They’re foaming at the mouth telling the nation how desperately we all need MORE CTE in our lives.  Below, is what fellow Warrior, Dr. Victoria Young posted on Facebook. (added emphasis is mine)

drvictoria
To see the 2017 article, that’s here. To see the May 2018, go here.

The brutal honest truth is this: CTE is Common Core Workforce Training.

ctefail

If you think the Ed/Labor merger will ‘bring back vocational schools’ like you may remember them to be, the merger won’t. I’ve shown you through years of research how ‘vocational schools’ were re-branded TO Career Tech Education. It was when Common Core’s alignment AND standards were inserted. The merger WILL only INCREASE the amounts of workforce aligned education FOR every AMERICAN. Not just public K-12th grade students. If you think private education, homeschooling, on-line schooling are exempt, I urge you to realize that BOTH education AND labor will cover preK to grave for every American.

kjosquote

Closing:

American education has been creating ‘new levels of mediocrity’ since the U. S. Ed Dept was created. The merger will create an even newer level of conformity with workforce training taking the place of academics.

The merger will do exactly what I’ve warned you before: scatter education programs like cockroaches all over DC. As hard as it would be to close U.S. Dept. of Ed and U.S. Dept. of Labor, RIGHT now, merging will bury ALL the overreaches so we may NEVER be free of federal overreaches!! The best plan, is REPEAL ESSA first, Restore FERPA, THEN begin to close the illegally based departments DOWN!

puffin

DC is convinced that ALL education is workforce development, therefore all education must be aligned. Forget Johnny’s or Suzy’s ability to think freely or read well. Forget your ability to be able to pursue your own happiness. The goal is conformity for economic gain.

bowl-of-stupid

Warriors, don’t let another minute pass..go to the petition page, sign, confirm, and share!! A whopping 84% of Americans opposed Common Core and the federal overreach. Where are you now?! Don’t let your child’s prerogatives die at the hands of Congress. Don’t allow your freedoms to be sacrificed at the corporate altar.

Education/Workforce: Springtime Edition

Spring has sprung in DC, alright. If you’ve been following my anti Fed Ed/global research information long, you are fully aware of the activities from Washington which have locked in the shift from academics to workforce.

So, my fellow Anti Fed Ed Warriors, what’s in fashion for Spring 2018 in the CCSS Machine’s line of education/workforce reform? Well, apparently dressing up the reform in spring colors. I guess that way it looks a bit more fashionable..and less conforming.

edworkprosper

Ahh, Warriors, isn’t it so pretty?! ‘Streamlined and straight jacketed’ just for our American taxpayers!

If you are not sure what PROSPER is, it is the U.S. House of Representative’s version of what the 1965 HEA (Higher Education Act) should be transformed into.

“PROSPER” stands for ‘Promoting Real Opportunity, Success, and, Opportunity through Education Reform’. It’s HR 4508, it’s key sponsor? Rep. Virginia Foxx (NC) who just happens to be the Chairwoman for the U.S. House of Representatives’ Education and Workforce Committee.

Her ‘design concept’ on all education?

foxxed

As far as the ‘quality’ education in the CCSS Machine, you’ll find more worthiness in what lines the chicken coop floor than you will what’s being fashioned for higher education! Be it in the House OR the Senate.

Either version of the upcoming HEA Re-authorization (PROSPER Act or the Higher Education Innovation Act) will increase the conformity in the education reform. It will tie K-12 students (in all choices) to the CCSS Machine’s workforce standards in higher education. Either will increase the amount of ‘student data rape’ needed to feed the global workforce.

Warriors, we might as well as hand out these Brazilian kid-sized straight jackets for school uniforms and/or diplomas!

cutestraightjacket(*Note: The Brazilian show, Super Nanny created and used this (and other control toys) to spike viewership and point out there’s a better way out there to have a happy family. Source; see how successful the campaign worked by watching the roughly 2 minutes of video.)

In a similar context, we, as those opposed to federal control of education at any age, know that conformed, straight-jacketed workforce education is NOT the better way.

Ed/Work Thinks We Missed Some Things:

Yes, Warriors, the House’s Ed and Workforce Committee must assume we, as taxpayers. are totally clueless. Just last week the Committee published a blog article to show us what we may of missed about PROSPER.
In their article, it was revealed that We the People might of ‘missed’ how great PROSPER will be in 3 areas.
a) grading and assessing ALL higher education institutions, not just the ‘for profit’ (proprietary) ones.
b) how student debt and tuition can be decreased.
c) how the taxpayers lose out when student debt is high.

While it IS true that student debt and tuition are at ridiculously high levels, the obvious is MISSED by Ed/Workforce, not, We the People! How?! Get the government out of the student loan business, Duh! The government hoarding of student loans is awful.

It ramps up the ‘student data rape’ while it controls who can and cannot go to college. The ‘student data rape’ happens every single time a Career Tech Education, Career Track, or Career Pathway, a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and, Math) course is taken.  (there are several other names like “Future Ready”, “College and Career Readiness, etc.)  Be it in middle school, high school, extra curricular classes, dual enrollment, early college, and others.

The data is used against your student (or yourself if you are going back to school) to pigeon hole you to a prescribed course to pursue. Tying ‘success’ in any education choice BEFORE college is used to tie it to your student FAFSA (which is now mandatory to complete in some States). FAFSA has been re-written to ‘data rape’ families.

Warriors, by controlling both the money AND the education, a dangerous trap is being set for Americans. The CCSS Machine is seriously spinning all this as ‘making America better’ or increasing the job market. Which leads to economic gains. However, as we’ve learned, who really loses?! The citizens! They loose their freedom to choose what they wish to live, work, and, how to contribute to society. Citizens also loose when they are continually forced to pick up the bill for ‘free community college’.

The federal government has long been trying to instill a ‘nanny state’. ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act) completed much of this type of alignment. How? It tied not only the WIOA (Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act) ‘education’ standards to K-12, it opened the door for birth to 1st in setting up workforce tracks. Don’t you remember Arne Duncan’s words about looking at the 2nd graders and knowing where they’d end up?!

2ndduncan
By ‘grading’ and assessing all higher education institutions, you’ll also seeing a big CCSS Machine spin on reality. Warriors, remember when ESSA stated that ALL education must be aligned to post-secondary readiness standards? Well, you have to align those post-secondary institutions! The ‘best’ way to force conformity?! Funding!

Closing:

No, Warriors, I do not thing we ‘missed’ anything about PROSPER. I think we totally ‘get it’. D.C. is so far entrenched with lies about their role in education, they have deceived themselves in this case.

As far as this Spring 2018 fashionable makeover for selling “PROSPER”, my advice is to skip it. No one needs springtime straight jackets. Quality education cannot be found in D.C., my followers. When it comes to ‘makeovers’ in education, D.C.’s a ‘knock off’.

A Test Of Time

Warriors Against the Core, this article will be very short.

I’m  in the “Sic ‘Em” mood. I think many of us are. Today, I’m pretty much summing up our findings after all these years fighting the War Vs. the Core.

It’s been said we need to wake up more parents to join us in protecting our kids. I’ll not be presumptuous enough to claim this (what you’ll see below) is “IT”, but it sure can help.

Regardless if you are a Christian or not, everyone is familiar with the Bible’s Ten Commandments. You know the list:
1) God said I brought you out of bondage so, have no other gods before me.
2) Don’t make graven images to worship.
3) No blasphemy.
4) Keep the Sabbath.
5) Honor your parents.
6) No murder.
7) No adultery.
8) No theft.
9) No lies.
10) Don’t covet.

Warriors, stay with me…let’s take these basic  commandments (which were actually guidelines to aim for) and apply them to the modern CCSS Machine education reform.

As you know, since I began writing and speaking out, I have referred to all the egregiousness as a ‘machine’. In my Warrior mindset, assigning all that is going on as a result of this modern education reform, is much easier to understand.

What you’ll see below is my take of what the unspoken Education Reform Commandments are. Was there ever anything similar written down? Who knows, but it’s what we’ve been living out from the past to today.

ancientscroll
Warriors, we must fight on to protect our students and teachers! Please use the picture to help point out to those who are still misinformed.

Speak up, speak out! Don’t simply rely on those who’ve been in this War Vs. the Core for a long time. Work shoulder to shoulder.

We see our federal/state legislation carrying out the Education Reform Commandments, daily. Look at how much of what is happening in these ‘commandments’ for money; not quality of life, but money.

This shift goes way beyond education and is attacking the entire  family. It’s a chain reaction. Negatively impact education, and an entire society goes to Hell.

It doesn’t happen overnight, but it does happen. It’s up to us to throw a kink in the CCSS Machine.

Twelve Pains, Revisited

Warriors, it’s hard to believe that 2 Decembers ago, I was writing my first Christmas themed anti CCSS article. That’s right, Dec. 2014 was when I first wrote “Monday Musings” CCSS’s Twelve Pains of Christmas”.

This time last year (2015) we, as anti CCSS Warriors, were still reeling from the passage of ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act) as the ‘new’ education law of the land.

edgrinch
The irony? Between that 2014 version and the 2015 version, not a whole heck of a lot had changed, as far as federal overreach in education and/or the grasp the CCSS Machine had on education.

So, here we are approaching Christmas 2016 as anti CCSS/ESSA Warriors. Are the 12 Pains of Common Core the same?! Let’s see:

christmastreereality

2014’s first Pain was “Illegality”, meaning the CCSS wasn’t based on proper vetting or legislation. In 2015, we saw the ‘illegality’ continue with the passage of ESSA. It simply extended the criminal-worthy actions. In 2016, we’ve begun to see just HOW those illegally based education laws are harming our nation.

The 2nd pain? “Deception”. How have we seen that play out in 2016? I just published an article detailing the deceptions.
See: https://commoncorediva.wordpress.com/2016/12/14/the-delusion-games/

Coming in at #3? “Sacrificing quality for conformity”. This particular pain has only increased in the amount of agony it is causing everyone opposed to the federally led overreaches in education. Quality education is continually being laid upon an altar to be sacrificed. The replacement? Conformed workforce based skills.

Back in 2014, I stated that the 4th pain was ‘facts that lie’. Thanks to the powerful CCSS Machine members and the organizations, subjective research (aka: best practices) has been churned out at record speed. This one pain by itself is enough to keep any researcher busy for years. In 2016, we’ve seen many true facts surface about how painful the CCSS education is. We’ve also seen these ‘true facts’ pretty much ignored. So, in 2017, we need to make this pain an area of focus.

Pains 5 through 8 are largely due to the 9th pain of CCSS.
Pain #5 was “Profits” made by undeserving groups/people; related are high (6th pain) stakes (7th) assessments (8th). In 2016, those profits made with anything related to Common Core were enormous. High Stakes Assessments are NOT going away with ESSA!
Therefore, profits are going to be made. Researching the education law as I have, I know that ESSA increases the opportunities for not only the assessments to be even more high stakes, but the companies associated with the assessments to be more involved in education. So, what is the 9th pain?! “Public-private partnerships”!

In 2014, I shared  with you that Pains 10, 11, and 12 were the most tragic of all.
Killing (10th)  Great (11th) Minds (12th). “No matter if it is the student in the school, the staff at the school, or the community at large, we all lose greatness when CCSS is allowed to continue. We lose valuable minds by continuing to see CCSS and all that goes with it grow. We’ve literally seen how the outcomes can kill some kids. Throw in how CCSS has killed a love for learning; killed the importance of reading for fun; killed the rich and storied history of not just our world, but of our nation.” In 2016, we’ve seen great minds killed with ESSA.

CCSS,Not worthy of anything more than a lump of hard, cold, and dirty coal.

The biggest painful factor of all (to me) is that only the names of what harms our nation in education have changed, NOT the agenda.

If you’d like to see the original 2014 Pains with the updated 2015 introduction:

Warriors, as I did in 2015, I will be taking a break from writing, but NOT researching. From Dec. 16th to Jan. 6th, no new articles will appear here. I can still be reached via Facebook (Common Core Diva page or U.S. Parent Call to Action), Twitter (@commoncorediva), or MeWe (Lynne M Taylor).

I wish each and every one of you a blessed time with your families in whatever celebrations or festivities you partake of. Here, at my house, we will celebrating Christmas. As always, I am so honored to be a part of your lives. See you in 2017.
