Draft Plan or Daft Plan?

To my fellow anti Fed Ed and CCSS Warriors, it is increasingly clear our States have sold us out. They did it with RttT (Race to the Top), the CCSSI (Common Core State Standards Initiative), the constant re-branding of CCSS (Common Core State Standards), and everything in between which would connect education to workforce based outcomes.

It was SUPPOSED to stop with ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act), but as we’ve researched and shared, that, too was a sell out.

By now, you’ve probably seen and heard about the States which already turned in their ESSA State Plans to the U.S. Dept. of Education, only to have them bounce back faster than a bad check. Have you been able to get a look at any of the State Plans which will be due in September 2017?

The last time I looked at the NC State ESSA Draft Plan was back in Feb. 2017. It’s where I compared the alignment of not only NC’s ESSA Plan, but how strikingly similar it was to SC’s Draft Plan at the time. If you missed the article highlighted above, I urge you to read it. Not only does it impact ALL 50 States, but there is quite a bit that those ESSA braggarts left out we need to know. (For example, did you know that ALL 50 States must meet parts of the General Education Provisions Act as well as all the mandates laid out in ESSA?)

In the most recent version of the NC ESSA State Draft, the document is 184 pages long. Oh, and more color pictures have been added. See below. The added emphasis is mine.

So, are you wondering about the “Theory” behind NC’s Daft (I mean) Draft Plan? Look below. You’ll find this particular section on Page 8 of the Plan, directly beneath the snazzy color picture you see above.

ncdamnWarriors, do you see this?! Do you believe it?!

The State of NC, just like the other 49, is using YOUR child as a test subject in an unknown and unproven system with YOUR tax dollars! (*Note: back in 2016, I published an article detailing some of the ESSA experimentation which would be continuing CCSS or creating more alignment.)

The CCSS Machine is so busy pumping out the jargon of ‘personalized learning’ (which is a coded educratic phrase), that we are missing the point: teachers should gauge the learning pace, not students. Teachers should be free to use their proven ideas in the classroom, not leav it up to professionals not designed for classroom interactions.

This is like telling your 6 year old that you’ll let them get behind the wheel of your car and HOPE it all works out.

Do you see the ‘transforming from the industrial age’ statement? Yep, NC’s bent over backwards to make sure it’s one of the most digitalized and conformed States in the nation. At every grade level and for every educational choice. I’ve documentend it well, as have other citizens.

deludeded

To show you how NC officials feel about ‘personalized learning’, you need to see their words, not mine.

statepillar
Click to enlarge the screen shot (or find the evidence on Page 9). Four ‘pillars’ which are to be STATE supported, not parent chosen, for your child’s education. Since these pillars are ‘state led’, do not think the federal government hasn’t mandated HOW the leadership is to take place. If so, why are so many State Plans being rejected? It’s because ESSA’s mandates do NOT allow MORE State-led control!

As far as ‘state supported’? No, try state controlled by way of the federal government, instead.

As far as NC’s Daft (oops, I meant ‘draft’) definition of ’empowered educators’, a very loose idea. Why? It’s to fit ESSA’s mandates to allow those who partner with education to be considered an ‘educator’. Remember, the increase of the business world in education ESSA has mandated? This loose definition of ‘educator’ fits perfectly.

empower

Other Daft Moves by NC?

1) For ‘early education’ the B3 Interagency Council (partners the NC DPI, NC Dept. of Health/Human Services, and the NC Partnership for Children). Their overreach into the younger students’ lives? Data driven pathways.

2) For ‘early education’ continuing the CCSS aligned “NC Reads” program. It’s supposed to have kids ready to read by the time they get to the classroom. I think NC’s daftness is really showing here. For our Kindergartner students, class is where they SHOULD learn to read, not come already prepared.

3) For all students, a new interagency for the “NC Whole Child”. The premise? A ‘whole child’ in a ‘whole school’ to learn to be part of a ‘whole community’.  Note that you’ll see both the CDC (Centers for Disease Control) and ASCD as creators. Both are part of the CCSS Machine.

whole

To  access the entire “NC Whole Child” program, visit here.

4) For the Teachers, ‘digital competency standards’ as derived by iNACOL, a huge CCSS Machine member organization. iNACOL is part of the global push for aligned education in America. These ‘standards’ are also a continued effort for NC that have been backed by our NC General Assembly.

5) For all students, ‘global-readiness’. While NC’s been globalizing students before now, under the Draft ESSA State NC Plan, more infrastructure changes will take place to continue this alignment. What does this mean? More internet digital access, Smart Cities, global standards, and so much more. Here’s a recently published article. With all the infrastructure changes, you’ll need to look for Innovation Districts/schools, Lab Schools and similar. You’ll also find infrastructure changes in Head Start, Early Head Start, 21st Century Community Learning Centers, and more.

Of The “Proven” CCSS Aligned Programs NC will keep:

1) You’ll see Home Base (a massive SLDS system put in place by Pearson Publishing, but now run by the NC DPI). See the Financial Evidence .
2) Smart Start/NC PreK  (a 2016 look at how ESSA was to hurt the littlest learners)
3) Career and College Promise (ties to a National CBP, Competency Based Pathway System)
4) NC Virtual Public School (a 2015 exposure)
5) Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) The 2016 article I published revealed not only much about PBIS, but how ESSA and Pearson capitalize on this system to alter attitudes in our children. You’ll also see an SC school district’s example. You’ll also see how those 21st Century Community Learning Centers are woven in.

CommonCore-Equal-Fail
Warriors, the CC Curriculum isn’t going away, even with ESSA in place.

Closing:

For more emphasis, this  2016 article where I pointed out the massive NC deceptions in much of what you see above, is offered to you.

What of similar nature is happening in your State? How ‘daft’ are our leaders? How ‘daft’ do they assume WE are?!

Lastly, Warriors, what are we WILLING to do about it? Shall we continue to offer up our students as test subjects while the powers in place try to run education?

Trickery Gets Education Nowhere

Anti Fed Ed Warriors, for years AND in spite of whatever political party is in charge, we’ve gotten pretty much NOWHERE near ending the grasp of those educratic, sold out leaders to the CCSS Machine in relation to our citizens.

What we HAVE gotten in exchange is a bunch of U.S. Constitution dishonoring laws, policies, and farces.

Amendment 13 was written to end slavery, yet, as the Progressive/Technocratic modern education reform has been playing out, more and more students, teachers, and education leaders of all ages are being enslaved to mind numbing workforce training!

Amendment 14 was written to throw out any Congress member or other federal leader for insurrection against the Constitution.

The entire education reform IS an insurrection against America!

Let’s not forget that what happens at the Federal level makes it way down to the State level as long as the States ignore the 10th Amendment!!

A Fighting Back Tool:

Warriors, if you already listened to the FPE Media “Alternative Education in the Crosshairs” Segment 1’s discussion of the lies being spun about the shift in education FROM academics TO workforce training, then you’ll know I cited HR5587 and S3271.
These pieces of legislation were expressly FOR increasing the amount of workforce based/competency geared education for ALL educational choices.

Today, I’m tackling two of them in an update.

Trickery, Process, or, Both?

As per the legislative process, at the end of each Congressional session, no pending business is left on the table. So, when the new Congress convened in January 2017, it was a fresh start. That BOTH Chambers rebrand older versions of bills or update them, is nothing new.

What has Congress done to HR5587 and S3271? It is important to note that their newer versions weren’t released  until AFTER our Series was published.

The Bills:

HR5587 (Strengthening Career and Technical Education for the 21st Century) and its ‘sister’ S3271 (Workforce Advance Act).

In 2016 I laid each of these (and a few more) out for your information bank of anti Fed Ed Warrior ‘weapons’.

So, what changes/updates have HR5587 and S3271 seen?

Check out this excerpt from the ACTE’s “CTE Policy Watch” in the screen shot below in regards to HR5587.

ACTEstmt
Wow, 5587’s name remained!
Only the bill number (and a few other small changes) will be revised. So, what are those ‘small’ changes? I’d like to point out the yet-to-numbered version is 97 pages long.

The first change I saw was a word play game. (a very worn out CCSS Machine tactic)

For example, on Page 4, “by striking ‘‘academic and career and  technical skills’’ and inserting ‘‘academic knowledge and technical and employability skills’’;  B) by inserting ‘‘and programs of study’’  after ‘‘technical education programs’’; (2) in paragraph (3), by striking “including  tech prep education’’; and  (3) in paragraph (4), by inserting ‘‘and programs of study’’ after ‘‘technical education programs’’.

By removing ‘including’, education’s shift to that of a worker skilled based one is undeniable.

How so? The only amount of  academics remaining will directly be related to your career tracked CTE courses.

Other noticeable changes to HR5587:
A shift from 5 occupational tracks to 3 tracks
That aligned ‘challenging academic state standards’ must be present at the post-secondary level of education in your State
‘In demand industry skills’ will be given top priority in education
Crenditialing will replace Associate degrees and other such certificates in some instances
The increasingly popular education ‘fix all tool’: pay for success formulas for States.

The rest of HR5587 remains (for example: the early college programs; dual enrollment; middle school career explorations, etc.) Most especially: CTE Concentrators and Participants (meaning teachers, students, schools, and partnerships between education and business).
The Senate HELP Committee  5/3/17 introduced S1004 “Perkins Fund for Equity and Excellence”. From all appearances, S1004 replaced S3271. According to Congress.gov’s website, S3271 is still in the HELP’s possession..dormant. Does that mean the content of S3271 went away, too? Not in a ‘New York minute’.

You’ll still find the CCSS Machine’s rhetoric concerning the value of competency based education. You’ll still spot the ‘need’ to ‘redesign high schools’ as well as ‘support CTE innovation’ without a need to remediate students.

How?! “equitable access to rigorous, engaging, and relevant real world education through partnerships with business and industry and higher education that prepare students to graduate from high school and enroll into postsecondary education… with the ability to use knowledge to solve complex problems, think critically, communicate effectively, collaborate with others, and develop academic mindsets.”

S1004 will also encompass those outside the public, traditional classrooms.

In the screen shot below, note the highlighted sentences and phrases. ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act) embedded ‘region specific education’. WIOA (Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act) contains the STANDARDS (as cited in ESSA) by which States are to align all learning/teaching. Lastly, let’s remember that one of the CCSS’s rebrands for nationally aligned Standards was/is “College/Career Readiness”!!

S1004

Warriors, as was pointed out in our Series, these federal laws and bills are written to link each other like gears and cogs. This is fitting considering the CCSS Machine is grinding our nation down.

Other S1004 important notes:
Skill based assessments will not go away
Funding for States will be up for increase/decrease depending on the conformity level of participation by each State
Workforce Development Boards at the State level will continue to increase
Increased presence of corporate America in the classrooms and resources (for all age groups/education ‘choices’)
Wrap-around services, including SEL (social emotional learning)
The Secretary of Education (DeVos) will get an increase in power as well

Power Is A Dangerous Thing:

Finding yet another piece of proposed legislation giving the U.S. Secretary of Education (regardless who that person is)more power is proof our Congress has no clue, or doesn’t care, that NO federal intrustion into education should be happening!! It definitely feels like a trick.

So, here’s what I found on DeVos and CTE.
1) U.S. News and World Reports’ Opinion page stated (Dec. 2016) that DeVos should have CTE high on her priority list. The author even titled the piece ‘A New Race to the Top’. (a side note here: I wonder if the author realized the U.S. Dept. of Labor already has this in place for CTE via the WQDI (Workforce Quality Data Initiative). In the article, P-Tech (already in place in NY) is mentioned, as is the Western MI Avation Academy.

2) Advance CTE’s website includes Western MI Avation Academy AND DeVos’s testimony before the Senate HELP Committee here.

In her HELP testimony she stated students SHOULD have CTE. Her exact words: “students really need to have a full menu of options,” including “technical schools, community colleges [and] apprenticeships.” (by the way, this fits with her ‘school choice’ belief)

3) DeVos is also pushing STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) as part of the way America can have more connections to CTE. This makes sense when you factor in how much STEM is embedded in WIOA, ESSA, HEA, and the STEM Act.

4) DeVos was joined by a Trump family member pushing STEM back in March 2017.

More Tricks:

Warriors, my good friend Deb Gerry Herbage writes a blog named “Exposed!”. She recently had a post where you’ll find out other tricks and lies we’ve been sold/told by the CCSS Machine member group, AIR, Inc. You’ll see how she found the States involvement in these lies, too. I urge you to read it.

You’ll also want to consider this screen shot from an AIR, Inc. 2015 publication. Then apply this evidence to the updates in both HR5587’s update and S1004:

AIRCASEL

Closing:

Warriors, have no fear! Regardless of the countless tricks the CCSS Machine dishes out, I am confident we will be swift in exposing the word games, number changes, and anything else coming down the pike. I will keep digging to see what other changes Congress isn’t openly sharing.

ESSA Aligners

Black-Rose-05

Back in February 2016, we Anti CCSS (and anti Fed Ed) Warriors listened in horror as Sen. Lamar Alexander listed off several groups already hard at work over implementing the ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act). We have witnessed these same groups repeatedly backing Common Core, Career Tech Education, Competency Based Education, and all the other aspects in this illegally based education reform.

So, what are the implementation efforts of these groups? That is the focus of today’s ‘From the Files’ article.

The Groups Mentioned during the Speech:

On Feb. 25, 2016, during the first U.S. Senate HELP (Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions) Committee, Sen. Lamar Alexander revealed the following groups had formed a coalition to ensure education fit the ESSA.

National Governors Association, The National Educators Association, School Superintendents Association (aka: American Association of School Administrators),
American Federation of Teachers, National Conference of State Legislators, National Association of State Boards of Education, The National School Boards Association, National Association of Elementary and Secondary School Principals, the National Secondary School Principals Association, and with the support of the Chief Council of State School Officers.

To see the rest of the previously published article where this information above came from: https://commoncorediva.wordpress.com/2016/02/29/warriors-guide-to-essa/

Since every one of these groups in part of the CCSS Machine, remember, their reports, articles, and resources will all put a positive spin on ESSA! Warriors, like myself, have combed through the ESSA and reported how damaging it will be.

NGA (National Governor’s Association):
From their website, a recap of the Winter meeting reveals that Sen. Alexander was present to extol not only education reform, but improving lives. See the recap: http://www.nga.org/cms/home/news-room/news-releases/2016–news-releases/col2-content/2016-nga-winter-meeting-recap.html
(*Note: the Recap will not give specifics about what was said, but I did find the following excerpt in the Meeting’s related News section.)

State implementation of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). In December, Congress passed this landmark legislation, which repealed the No Child Left Behind Act and devolved federal control of legislation, returning power to the states. At the Education and Workforce Committee session, governors discussed how states can move forward with ESSA implementation. The conversation continued at a Senate hearing this morning, at which Gov. Herbert testified. “Governors view ESSA as an opportunity for states to set high—but realistic—expectations for schools while allowing them to determine how to meet those expectations,” he said.”
(*Note: click on the highlighted word to gain access to the over 1 hour meeting on video!)

NEA (National Educators Association):
Leading the NEA is Lily Garcia. She has made a name for the efforts to back ESSA (according to her page on the NEA website). It is called ‘Spring Into the ESSA’.
lilygarcia
According to Lily, April 3rd is the date the NEA will, indeed, spring into your schools. How?
“Beginning April 3, NEA local associations nationwide will be hosting meetings, school walk-ins, panel discussions, and community forums designed to explain what the law means and how we can implement it in ways that benefit students.” (*Note: if you are not sure what a school walk-in is, click the highlighted link to see the 2/17 event.) To access all of what Lily says (and she says a lot we need to know): http://lilysblackboard.org/2016/03/this-spring-is-for-essa-and-we-need-you/)
Related to the NEA is the ‘State and Local ESSA Implementation Network’. See:
http://www.nea.org/home/65842.htm

The American Association of School Administrators (AKA: The School Superintendents Association):
This group has quite a few resources we Warriors can use and learn from. Below is one of the more helpful ones in a screen shot:
AASAESSA
To access the entire presentation: ESSA Approps NCE 2016
To see their other ESSA resources: http://www.aasa.org/pages/templates/gsesearch.aspx?q=ESSA

AFT (American Federation of Teachers):
Before we look at their current ESSA activities, check out the screen shot below:
AFTpetition
From their March 2016 News, you can find this excerpt:AFT and CCSSO were at the core of an unprecedented alliance of education, parent, community and civil rights groups that secured enactment of ESSA last December—an achievement many longtime observers have labeled Washington’s “Christmas miracle” at a time of partisan gridlock. The March meeting between the two organizations suggested the possibility of that work continuing, based on a shared dissatisfaction with the No Child Left Behind status quo and a shared belief that states need to give the grass roots a real say in the rollout of the replacement law.” Read the rest:

Related is an article the AFT published about the ESSA success in Utah: http://www.aft.org/news/utah-seizes-essa-opportunity-testing-evaluation

National Conference of State Legislators (NCSL):
From their dedicated pages of ESSA resources, you can find all sorts of things related to the ESSA. One, in particular, caught my eye. It was when the NCSL worked with the NGA to push for the passage of ESSA. Why is this vital to our War Against the Core? Look at the plans both groups hatched up for states and local levels! See: NGA_NCSL_ESEAPlan_Final

(*Note: be sure to check back periodically on this website, as the NCSL will continue to add more items.)

NASBE (National Association of State  Boards of Education):
On their archived Webinar page, you can find at least 4 concerning the ESSA. ‘Principal Standards and the ESSA‘, ‘ESSA and Early Learning’, ‘ESSA Briefing’, and the ‘Next Generation Assessments’. See: http://www.nasbe.org/news-info/multimedia/webinars/webinar-archives/ (*Note, these archives are as recent as early March 2016.)

NSBA (National School Boards Association):
This group has much to say about ESSA, but the most helpful for what we can use, is their announcement of the upcoming ‘Rules for Implementation Process’ for the ESSA. Why is this important, it will be one of the FEW public opportunities to be involved! See the screen shot:
NSBEEssa

NAESP (National Association of Elementary and Secondary School Principals):
This group recently visited Washington D.C. to stump for the implementation of ESSA. Read their report: http://www.naesp.org/content/nation-s-principals-visit-capitol-hill-launch-naesp-s-advocacy-agenda-essa-implementation

NASSP (National Association of Secondary School Principals):
Find out, not only, how they are tracking the implementation process of ESSA, but are advocating for funding tied to the ESSA. See: http://blog.nassp.org/2016/03/21/advocacy-update-tracking-essa-2/
This group will also be hosting upcoming ESSA webinars. Below is one set for tomorrow!
If you cannot sign up for this, I have and will do my best to share all I can learn.
NASSPESSA

Finally, the CCSSO, Chief Council of State School Officers:
You can bet, just like their partner in educational crimes, the NGA (remember, both the NGA and CCSSO hold the copyrights to the Common Core State Standards), the CCSSO will have PLENTY to do with the ESSA’s implementation.
They have a dedicated ESSA implementation page. See: http://www.ccsso.org/Resources/Programs/Every_Student_Succeeds_Act.html (*Note: jam packed with pro CCSS materials!)
Here is their brief on the funding stream changes: Summary of Significant Spending and Fiscal Rules in ESSA – 03092016

Closing:
Warriors, as you can see, we have lots of evidence here. Share this news, compare it to the ANTI CCSS/Fed Led Ed evidence I, along with others, have given you straight from the Law, not our CCSS Machine agenda perspective. Each of these groups above has sold our nation out!

iNACOL Comes to Home Education?!

onlinehsccssEspecially for the anti CCSS Warriors who have chosen home education as a way to escape the CCSS Machine. If you don’t home educate, then this news can be of use to you as well in seeing just how far overreaching the P3s (public private partnerships) have become. The School Board Special, Part One

Against-Common-Core-and-Vote

This Weekend News begins a special series for all those ‘anti CCSS Machine Warriors’ out there running for their school boards this election year. No matter if it is a local school board race or a state-wide race, this compendium is for you!!

If you should have an issue you would like more information on and you do NOT see it below, please do not HESITATE to let me know how I may help your campaign. Why would I do this? I want to support each of you as best as I can with information you can use to stand for a school system FREE from the CCSS Machine and ALL its overreaches into birth to pre-K, pre-K to K, K-12, community colleges, public and private colleges and universities, for profit post-secondary schools (proprietary), and any OTHER place Common Core (or as it’s new buzz phrase is known as “College and Career Readiness”) is found!

As the first in this series of articles, I would like to  devote them to these brave men and women who are seeking office for the RIGHT reasons! 1) To be a child’s hero; 2) to stand for the Constitutionally protected state sovereignty where education is concerned; and 3) to wipe out the CCSS Machine’s grasp on their local community and/or State!

Birth to Pre-K, Pre-K to K:

As we have seen and heard, NO age group, nor educational choice will be free from the illegally based (and now, rubber stamped via the ESSA, Every Student Succeeds Act) educational reform begun by the CCSSI (Common Core State Standards Initiative). My fellow anti CCSS Warrior from CA (Lydia Gutierrez) has a great Facebook post from 2014 which details Sen. Lamar Alexander’s plan to grab our students from birth and track them to career.
Why would I mention Sen. Alexander? He is one of the main sponsors of the ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act). His plan from way back when, just got a HUGE advancement via the ESSA! To see Lydia’s post: https://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=10152814417575498&id=226850210497 (*Note it has the embedded You Tube video from the 1980s where Alexander speaks his ‘Orwellian plan’ for our students.)

To see the birth to Pre-K plans via the ESSA from the Final Conference Report (that mammoth 1,061 page booger):
Section 2223 which begins on Page 373 and details “Subgrants to eligible entities in support of birth through kindergarten entry literacy.”.
Leading up to Section 2223, the following pages are also of great importance:
1) Page 365 where you can see how LEAs (Local Educational Agents) will encompass birth through 12th grade literacy, early childhood education programs including home based literacy programs, and more.
2) Page 370 where you will find percentages of funding the states are to have for any program or activity to ready birth through Kindergarten for school.
3) The bottom of Page 370 and into 371 where you will see birth to 5 years programs for low income families targeted.
4) Page 372 states the following for those teaching our youngest students: “Coordinating with institutions of  higher education in the State to provide recommendations to strengthen and enhance pre-service courses for students preparing to teach children from birth through grade 12 in explicit, systematic, and intensive instruction in  evidence-based literacy methods.”
5) Page 374 will show you how ‘data analysis’ will be used in regards to birth through kindergarten entry.
6) Page 375 details the assessments of the birth to kindergarten for the sake of successful entry into school.
7) That damnable educratic, pro Common Core term ‘pipeline’ (in reference to our students) is used on Page 600. “PIPELINE SERVICES.—The term ‘pipeline services’ means a continuum of coordinated supports, services, and opportunities for children from birth through entry into and success in postsecondary education, and career attainment. Such services shall include, at a minimum, strategies to address through services or programs (including integrated student supports) the following:  ‘‘(A) High-quality early childhood education programs.” (*Note: There is more, but you need to read it for yourselves.)
8) Page 615 will focus on the children (from birth) in the lowest income cities with a continuum of ‘high quality’ services. While this may not be a terrible thing, consider that further down the page, the data collection and reporting of said data goes to the U.S. Dept. of Education’s Secretary!
9) The homeless children’s lack of records will also be included in all this new education reform. See Pages 881, 889,  and 900.
10) Page 959, The States are to keep parents up to date on all the ‘mixed delivery systems’ of programs for birth to kindergarten entry level.
110 Lastly, on Page 967, you will need to know that the States will be assessing the families for successful improvement among  family members.

If you do not have access to the Final Report: ESSA FINAL CONFRPT_112915

In the much shorter U.S. Law version of the ESSA (391) pages, you will find Section 2223 is still the same. Page numbers, however, will be different. To find where the students from ‘birth’ and up are mentioned, see: 136, 138 (twice), 139 (5 times), 140, 223, 238, 326, 329, 333, 354, and 357. Each of the topics found in the Final Report have made their way into the Law version. To access the Law version: Finalessa.391pages

As Far As My Research, I Would Like to Offer You:

Zero to Three Common Core which has received the American Academy of Pediatrics backing as well as a major insurance company (MetLife)! See: https://commoncorediva.wordpress.com/2015/07/04/sic-em-saturday-pint-sized-common-core/
What you, as a candidate, need to know about this article: Look to your area’s Early Head Start Program; that each of the 50 States has a ‘Baby Fact Sheet’; that some States (especially those deemed as successes with their Race to the Top funding) have a ‘Preschool Development Grant’ from the U.S. Dept. of Education; that the National Institute for Early Education Research (NIEER), is backed, supported, and funded by some of the biggest names in the CCSS Machine!

Then here is my article pertaining to the massive amounts of research being conducted on our youngest students in the name of education. See: https://commoncorediva.wordpress.com/2015/11/10/ftf-prek-research-ccss-cbe/
What you, as a candidate, need to look for from this article: Your state’s funding and use of TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families) and how CCSS has got its grasp on this money; how competency based education (is largely workforce based learning in nature) is being designed for our little people in the classrooms and related programs; how our youngsters are bringing shaped into BRICKS (I kid you not), and more!

How will the birth to pre-K and kindergartners figure into the WIOA (Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act of 2014) which is also expressly tied via the language of the ESSA (as law)?! See my article: https://commoncorediva.wordpress.com/2016/01/05/essa-ties-to-wioa-2014-and-new-citizens/
What you, as a candidate, need to know from this article: Those ‘sub grants’ for ELA (English Language Arts) are to be used so that EVERY student, including these younger ones, will be in line for the cradle to career education;  how the language shift FROM “Common Core State Standards” TO ‘Challenging State Academic Standards’ is not only more of the same education reform, but will have massive amounts of money attached!

Encompassed into the Promise Neighborhoods and the 21st Century Community Learning Centers and/or Community Schools will be not only the youngest learners, but the ENTIRE family! See: https://commoncorediva.wordpress.com/2015/08/17/supportive-acts-to-back-initiative/
What you, as a candidate, need to know: That while the Promise Neighborhoods is NOT a new piece of legislation, HOW it is included in the ESSA is new! Those 21st Century Community Learning Centers (which can also sometimes be referred to by a number of catchy names) are part of a White House Initiative, as well as a P3 (public-private partnership) effort to have entire communities aligned to the Common Core State Standards Initiative.  To see that information and to learn more: https://commoncorediva.wordpress.com/2014/10/24/fom-friday-knowledgeworks-or-knowledge-quirks/ (*Note: This article lays out for you the cradle to career aligned community network already in place across America.)
