Global, Smobal?!

Anti Fed Ed Warriors, we know there are continued links between ‘federally led education’ and globally led education. We also know these ties which lie between education and our communities are deeply embedded. To that end, I’m using ‘global, smobal’. The “global” is self defining. The “smobal”? My take on ‘small town gone global’.

The manifestations of these ties are easily found in the UN’s (United Nations’s) SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals), as well as the American laws:
WIOA (Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act of 2014), ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act of 2015), HEA (Higher Education Act, currently being re-written), and any other law which combines any of the above.

Thanks to many Anti Fed Ed Warriors and many other Anti Global Education Warriors, we’ve been able to see what programs are being used to breed so much collectivism. As we know, the UN’s SDGs use education as the single most important ‘change agent’ to infiltrate our towns and cities. (Source for image below)

What do some of the activities look (or sound) like to bring the UN’s desired alignments to fruition? I have a few examples below:

Global, Smobal: Part One:

Warriors, recently I was in Georgia attending to family business. While helping out, I found myself in a doctor’s office where I picked up a local magazine. The magazine was all about the arts and culture of the area. As I was thumbing through the pages, I stumbled upon an article about a county at the opposite end of the State, where the citizens are finding Career Clusters as a great unifier for them.

One of the reasons this particular magazine was featuring the far away county? Since it appears to be such a great success in one rural area of Georgia, it can be an equal success somewhere very similar in another part of Georgia.

To learn about the Georgia county featured, go here. Notice on Page 6, the amount of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and, Math) aligned workforce education, as well as those ‘wonderful’ Career Clusters. Note that the County’s schools are charter ones. Notice among the community unifying buildings is a new innovative amphitheater. By sheer coincidence, the area I was visiting had just completed their new amphitheater.

Global Smobal, Part Two:

Also, in the same magazine, another article about a multi state effort to join businesses and education. This effort is geared more for adults than the previous article, where students are the main focus. To find that article, go to page 93 and those immediately following. Warriors, the ‘global smobal’ here that this new type of business and education collaboration is a direct product of STEM. The purpose of the ‘teamwork’? Redefining how communities work.

As we know, STEM is a UN directive contained within the SDGs. The redefining of our communities? That’s straight out of the SDG Tool Kit. How does STEM tie to the Career Clusters? Read the ‘research’ behind STEMIE. The free K-12th grade curriculum for STEMIE? Aligned to the Common Core, Next Generation Science Standards and, is based off the PAST Foundation’s framework for education.

PAST Foundation is based in OH, but is an international group devoted to project based learning combining STEM and anthropology to prepare for 21st Century careers. PAST’s public private partnerships are what make this twist on STEM ‘work’. Warriors, as we know, the increase of P3s (public private partnerships) was a mandate of ESSA, the Every Student Succeeds Act.

Global Smobal #3:

April 21st, 2018, my local town newsletter is advertising the Global Youth Service Day. According to the town’s information, this workday is the only one devoted to children (ages 6 to 18). What type of projects will be completed? Local service projects to benefit the collective community.

Presently, no stopping this global dagger which pierces our hearts has been given by the current administration.

Consorting To Align And Undermine

Anti Fed Ed Warriors, we know the shift in education FROM academics TO workforce is NOT new.

We know the CCSS Machine sped things up in the streamlined ‘cradle to career’ shift via CC (Common Core), CTE (Career Tech Education, the ‘adult’ version for CC), STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and, Math), STEAM, (Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and, Math), CPs (Career Pathways), CCs (Career Clusters), CTs (Career or College Tracks), and, CCR (College and Career Readiness).

We also know that federal legislation has played directly into the cogs of the CCSS Machine via WIOA, Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (2014), ESSA, Every Student Succeeds Act (2015), STEM Act of 2015, the re-authorization of Perkins Funding (which gives money to all 50 States for a big portion of everything you see in bold above.) We will certainly see it in the ‘new’ version of the HEA (Higher Education Act) as it continues to be ‘rewritten’.

What Consortium?

Warriors, were you aware there a national consortium expressly for boosting the continued shift from academics to workforce skills? “EntreEd” or the National Coalition for Entrepreneurship Schools.

Warriors, notice the K-12 inclusion, the community alignment, the local economic boosting potentials. What you don’t see is the use of the words ‘workforce’ or ‘career tech education’. “Entrepreneurship” is being used as an educratic replacement!

Yes, Warriors, you read correctly. More copyrighted education standards. EntreEd has a direct link to the National Entrepreneurship Standards, copyright 2004. While most of our academic standards in 2004 were not CCSS aligned, they have since been. Look below to see an overview of the 15 strands of this business education standards. (*Note: we’ll get back to these Standards in a moment.)

The MBA Research and Curriculum Center:

Warriors, MBA(Marketing and Business Administration) Research and Curriculum Center certainly carry the entrepreneurship beyond the 2nd year of college, but is this Center, associated with business, also in on the CCSS Machine, like the National Consortium for Entrepreneurship Education? Let’s find out.

Since there’s such a strong tie between businesses in education in the MBA Research and Curriculum Center, it’s not surprising to find there’s another Coalition contained among the MBA. It’s mission is crystal clear as to their allegiance to the CCSS Machine:
“Encourage the teaching of core business skills and economic concepts for college- and career-ready high school curricula.”

One of the ways this is carried out? PBL (Project Based Learning). Another? Extra-curricular clubs like FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America). (*Note: in my article , I show you how PBLs are ‘code’ for CBE, Competency Based Learning. CBE is an updated term for the Outcome Based Education from the 1990s. If you are not sure how the FBLA fits into the CCSS Machine, I have that laid out, here.)

Why This Should Matter:

Warriors, as the shift from academics to workforce continues, we’ll see more and more higher education institutions do away with what have traditionally been wonderfully accepted degrees for teachers and those leading our students. Majors in history, English, and, others are either declining OR are being phased out. For example, the University of WI at Stevens Point wants to do away with 13 majors.
Back in February 2018, the University of IL explained that cutting majors happens when budgets are cut. Their article also said it can be an effort to reduce student debt.

As we’ve seen, the CCSS Machine (via DC) has used ‘reducing student debt’ as a rhetorical reason for ramping up Competency Based Education. Warriors, it’s not so much about reducing debt (or taxpayer burdens). This type of rhetoric 100% supports the continued shift away from academics and plays right into the workforce training.

We also should consider that those in leadership for groups like the MBA and the EntreEd show up in other places. For example, the former leader of BOTH, MBA and EntreEd, will now lead NC in CTE (Career Tech Education) as its director.

Back in December 2017, I showed you what was coming for the Tar Heel State for Career Tech Education and how it would reach even younger students than ever before. No doubt the new CTE Director will make sure this happens…at taxpayer expense without taxpayer consent.

Warriors, who among your State education leaders used to be in another arm or leg of the CCSS Machine? Where are they now, do you know how they are continuing the workforce shift?

Closing:

While the CCSS Machine consorts and conspires against us? How will we, the Warriors, conspire and consort toward a counter-attack? Simply taking our students out of public education is not a real solution. Why? Because the cradle to career streamline will impact every single student at some point.

We must remember, ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act) tightened the circle around all educational choices. Page 17 of the Law was deadly serious when it laid out the mandate for ALL education to be workforce readiness aligned! The goal of the CCSS Machine is to have NO choice, but a workforce training one, for every citizen and student.

Dear Valued Person

Hello my Anti Fed Ed Warriors!

Much of the focus, last week was on the FEPA (Foundations for Evidence-Based Policymaking Act) hearing. It is imperative we keep up any pressure to influence D.C. to #StopFEPA!

Also happening last week, was the third U.S. Senate HELP HEA (Higher Education Act) Hearing. If you missed the Hearing, you can watch the archived version. Scroll down to ‘watch video’. If you missed my article about the Hearing and how it’s tying into the global education agenda, access that here. (*Note: the Hearing is just over 2 hours)

What’s the ‘catch’ about the HEA Hearing? Well, Warriors, there are several.

First, the HEA was created back in 1965. It’s been re-authorized roughly the same amount of times as the original ESEA (Elementary and Secondary Education Act). The HEA was LAST re-authorized (in its entirety) in 2008.

Then, there’s the latest re-branding of the HEA. Instead of the “Higher Education Act”, the name has been updated to now be known as the “Higher Education Innovation Act”.

Warriors, remember, this version belongs to the U.S. Senate. The U.S. House also has a re-branded HEA title in their version: PROSPER (Promoting Real Opportunity, Success, and Prosperity Through Education Reform). I wrote about the global ties to the House’s version of the HEA back in Dec. 2017. Earlier this year, I updated the information on PROSPER, here.

Next, the obvious fact that the HEA is the LAST link in the CCSS Machine’s chain for grid-locking ALL education to the workforce based, competency leveling assessing in EVERY level of schooling.

The HEA Hearing last week was supposedly about protecting taxpayers. (Who, by the way, are expected to one more time foot the bills for education reform which is 100% illegally based!) Warriors, any time Senator Lamar Alexander is leading the way in education reform, NO taxpayer is protected!

HEAblastThe last ‘catch’ of the HEA Hearing is this:  demagogue judgement on every ‘valued person’ in higher education. The judgement? “Poor outcomes” in student performance mean taxpayers suffer.

Of course, we know, thanks to the CCSS Machine, that ‘student outcome‘ is tied to teachers leadership. It’s been done so in a way which is demeaning and outrageous.
Congress should be treating students and teachers as the wonderfully gifted, ‘valued people’ they are!

Notice, D.C. is great about pointing to every person in America as part of the problem, while the REAL issue(s) will continue to go unaddressed! The leadership assumes the taxpayers are idiots. This has been happening for decades, Warriors. By both political parties!

Warriors, think about it, when it comes to your education activism.
How many times has leadership deemed you as somehow ‘misinformed’?! How many deaf ears have been turned our way when it comes to speaking out?!

The “New” V.M. (Value Meter):

As if the demagogue leadership isn’t insulting our nation enough, the CCSS Machine member organization, AACC (American Association of Community Colleges), has created a new voluntary framework to measure higher education students. It deals with ‘accountability’.

What the AACC isn’t telling you, is that they are a UN (United Nations) partner organization. As such, you can bet the ‘new’ accountability measure for ‘valued people’ will be full of global reform.

The HEA Hearing from last week also included higher education ‘accountability’.

I’ll get to the framework shortly. I want to pause first to make a few points for those of you who may wish to share this article.

A) Community colleges are used by all ages and from every educational choice. The CCSS Machine’s grasp on the community colleges across the nation has put the community college in the exact center of the one-way-to-learn-so-you-will-earn education reform. The UN’s global education also includes the one-way-to-learn-so-you-will-earn system.

B) For many students and families, community colleges are the ‘go to’ answer for not only paying much less (have you noticed how the CCSS Machine agenda includes ‘free’ community college?), BUT, it’s where you can supposedly ‘get ahead’ faster.


C) If you’re attending community college after a public school graduation, it’s here your CCSS Machine
 pre-determined career track will continue. 

D) If you’re attending one of these schools as part of your homeschooling, or immediately upon completing your homeschooling requirements, it’s community college where you’ll be sucked into the CCSS Machine’s agenda and data mining system.


E) If you’ve decided community college is a great way to begin a second career or have been out of school for many years, the CCSS Machine agenda will encompass you as well.


F) If your job requires you to attend community college as a way to earn a promotion, you, too will be ensnared by the CCSS Machine’s global education idea of trained workers for specific jobs.

Warriors, by making this framework voluntary, post-secondary schools will be able to choose to belong to this system. However, as we’ve seen with ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act) ‘choice’ (when it comes to accountability) is distorted.
Hang on, though, Warriors; there are two things to point out here:

A) The AACC isn’t Congress, however, the AACC Advocates lobby Congress to help promote federal agenda for community colleges! What’s more? This group is aggressive in pushing education policy.


B) We need to watch HOW Congress will re-write the HEA in both Chambers to see how mandated ‘accountability’ will become in post-secondary schools. The mandates for K-12th grades are tremendously overreaching.

The AACC Framework measures students via data tracking, sharing student data among every voluntary framework school (aka: Pathway 2.0 Schools).

According to the KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) Sample, this Framework will take several years before any real results can be seen. ‘Gateway’ (college level) English and Math courses and assessments are to be measured. How well your student (or even you) persist from one semester to another is gauged. Then there is ‘how many credits you earn’ while attending one of these community colleges participating. You’ll also see the ‘readiness’ factor used in this system. “How ready are Johnny and Suzy for community college?”

Warriors, interestingly enough, I did find at least two presentations, here in America, for ‘gateway’ Math and English in the community college landscape. The first one appears to be from MO and was presented by the “Complete College” campaign. The second is from a VA community college and shows the ties to specific ways the ‘gateways’ are tied to local economics, race, and, gender.

You also may find it interesting that in the UK (United Kingdom) a 2 year Gateway English and Math is used in not only higher education, but apprenticeships, and other workforce-based competency ways.

As we’ve seen here in America, apprenticeships are also CCSS Machine aligned and are used as a way for the demagogue-led system to ‘sell’ more jobs. We know Congress is fully behind aligning education to workforce needs.

Oh, Community..

How many times have we seen the CCSS Machine invite us to a place at the community table for education? It’s been many times, right? How many of those times have we seen the Delphi method used? (Delphi methods invite people in to have a discussion and then drive the discussion to predetermined results which has nothing to do with the people’s input.)

We’ve seen this tactic repeatedly used against us, Warriors. It stinks. Thanks to ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act) and its mandates for MORE federal control in education, the Delphi method was launched in every ‘stakeholder’ meeting; every ESSA forum for ideas and suggestions; and, it was pulled off right under our noses.

To add insult to injury, NOW, the States are rolling out all kinds of meetings across their boundaries. These meetings are a continued effort to attract (under false pretenses) community citizens to become involved in ‘local’ education.

The example? Why, NC (North Carolina), of course. Warriors, you know it’s where I live. You also know, from a few articles ago, the State education, business, and, political leaders are rolling out the CCSS Machine bandwagon fallacies.

The leaders want SO much for NC to be a national leader of ‘local education’. Yet, look behind the facade and you’ll see the same egregiousness here, that is happening THERE (wherever you live).

To be more specific about the latest NC example of CCSS Machine education alignment, think ‘innovation’. As in ‘districts of innovation’. As in, piling on more technology, digital learning, and the data mining which goes with it. (*Note, back in 2016, I published this article about the NC ties to other States and some of their ‘districts of innovation’. Scroll down to “Part 2”.)

Before I get to the latest innovation news, let me give you some background and context.

The State Data Gets You Every Time:

Many NC leaders, especially some high profile elected officials (like Lt. Gov. Dan Forrest), have been pushing for the past few years to have MORE digital programs and technology and more band-width internet connections in EVERY classroom across our State. (*Note: the ‘connections’ article will show you Forrest is also on the ‘school choice’ bandwagon for CCSS.)

Forrest is currently gearing up for a run as the next NC Governor. Forrest also sits on the NC SBE (State Board of Education) and has signed at least one resolution damning our students across the State to MORE CCSS aligned CTE (Career Tech Education), because, after all, jobs in NC will make our State excel above others. His initiative for 1 technology device for every single student is also a death knell in education.

How? A computer in every student’s hands will some how many education even better. Yep, and let’s recall the plethora of articles proving how damaging too much computer access, time, and, education is literally sucking the life out of students.

All this technology  is tied to STEM (which is part of the UN, United Nations, education agenda). STEM is Science, Technology, Engineering, and, Math. The data mining which accompanies all this technology will make millions of dollars for the members and their organizations of the CCSS Machine.

More Background/Context Related Resources:
From 2016, after ESSA became law, a look at the NC digital shift and State law which supports and promotes this activity in education.

From 2015, the ‘new’ digital upgrades NC got which most definitely set the trap for data mining in all school choices from Pre-K to adult, using technology and CTE for jobs and the economic health of the State.

From 2014, the NC Community College System, the (former) Governor of NC, McCrory, and business leaders sell out higher education for alignment to workforce based learning. (*Notes: McCrory (a conservative Republican) was Forrest’s former boss.
The current Governor of NC, Cooper (a liberal Democrat) has done zero to unhinge NC from the federal overreaches in education, the alignment of cradle to career tracking systems, and everything which connects these.
Serving as Lt. Governor alongside BOTH these Governors, Forrest has NOT bucked the educational alignment system either.)

The Latest Delphi Method/Innovation For NC:

Warriors, the latest innovation push is called the “Connecting Communities of Education Stakeholders (CCES)” Conference.  Below is a screen shot of the topic strands for ‘innovation’:

The Conference was announced on the NC DPI (Dept. of Public Instruction). The official title of the Community Conference is “Fostering Innovation Across Our State”.
The vision for all this updating in education? Warriors, you’ll ‘love’ it! According to the website page for the Conference, the coming together of all the ‘stakeholders’ for innovation’s sake, “builds capacity for continued growth and success for all learners.”

Among the goals for the Conference is ‘data-driven’ strategies and resources’.

Found in the 84 page Conference Guide, beginning March 12th, 2018, the opening breakout sessions will give teachers data gathering tools to use as they walk about their classrooms. How compliance from students will be turned into ‘engagement’, and, digital classes for coding on-line and reading for little ones. That’s just for the students. For the teachers there is digital badging in competency driven PD (professional development). For the parents? How to use Twitter for your school.

Warriors, those are just the first few breakouts. Do you see what kind of tactic is being used? While each breakout says the target audiences include parents, I wonder how many parents who can afford this Conference (about $250.00 per person), will be able to attend the breakouts where they are not mentioned in the descriptions? If they are allowed, how many will be ‘delphi-ed’?

You’ll want to scroll through the Guide to find out what other data mining, and ‘innovation’ can be found. Look for assessments, districts for innovation, any company specified. (For example, I saw PowerSchool mentioned quite a few times) You’ll also want to look for globalization of your classes, shared business and school fiscal ventures.

Closing:

Warriors, ‘innovation’ is a code word, I do believe. What’s it code for? Anything the CCSS Machine needs to happen in education can fit under ‘innovation’ and be found acceptable. The CCSS Machine needs more data to mine, track, and sell.
Easy, label a program or initiative with ‘innovation’ and presto-bingo! People buy into it. We’re being delphi-ed to death, Warriors! Our kids are being data raped every day in the name of ‘innovation’. Look at the levels of compliance, too.

A leader needs to look good so that more people will support their agendas. Easy, pop in the word ‘innovation’ or use it in connection with ’21st Century education’, and watch the support pour in!

The federal government wants to maintain its compliance with the United Nations and their global grasp on education for workforce needs. Easy, write ‘innovation’ into a piece of legislation and watch how quickly it becomes a law. Laws, which by their very existence render their illegal based overreaches as ‘treason’.  When it comes to education, we are no longer a United States of America, Warriors. We’ve become the United State of Delphi.

Working Over The “Old North State”

Anti Fed Ed Warriors, just a few days ago, I shared with you how ‘great’ NC’s updated school-wide report cards are. ICYMI, here it is.

Worth repeating, though, is this: A CTE (Career Tech Education) specific school in my county had ZERO textbooks (according to the NC Report Card website).

What does this have to do with workforce based education? Everything! Not only is NC (Old North State) getting ‘worked over’, every other State is too!

Not long after I began my blog (2014), I attended an meeting held on a local community college campus. The rhetoric spilling out of the elected officials and school employees was eye-opening, to say the least. It was all about workforce aligned schools. See this article. (You’ll even see the embedded You Tube video about national workforce credentials. As the business owner stated in the short film, ‘no certification; no job’.)

Programs like “NC Works” bring the workforce aligned schools to 100% fruition.

I also shared with you how the NCWorks program came to be in Sept. 2014.

An updated article about NCWorks in 2015 showed you how the Governor of NC ( Pat McCrory) had laid out a ‘smooze fest’ of CCSS Machine member groups and citizens to carry out his plan for education and workforce training to intersect.

Warriors, every Governor did likewise. It was due to the language of WIOA (Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act). Governors were given more power. Using it to create aligned school-to-work systems was just the beginning.

In 2016, I gave you an update on NCWorks and how it was connected to a bond for statewide community colleges. The bond was a poorly disguised taxpayer disaster for generations to come. Thanks to the CCSS Machine, the bond was voted on and passed.

Warriors, when the Education and Workforce Commission was started, it was housed in the Governor’s administrative branch. During the summer of 2107, the Commission was moved from the Governor’s office to the NC DPI (North Carolina Dept. of Public Instruction).  From what I can find, the new location is in the NC DPI’s CTE (Career and Technical Education Office)

The announcement I found about the move is from the Public Schools First NC website:

If you are curious, the Public Schools First NC states its a group of nonpartisan citizens. However, “Mapping the Left” website shows the Public Schools First NC, has received some previous funding from The Reynolds Foundation.

Reynolds Foundation supports all kinds of community groups, social justice projects, and education. Among one of the red warning signs I found on Reynolds 2015 Grant page was to a non-profit called “DigiLearn”. DigiLearn was founded by former Governors (NC) Perdue and (WY) Geringer. (*Note: Perdue was in office when NC’s Race to the Top funds were awarded.)

DigiLearn’s Board has two well-known CCSS Machine members, one is NC legislator Craig Horn and the other is Tom VanderArk.

So, Why Share This Now?

Warriors, I share this now, as the NC DPI is wrapping up 2017, with sights set for 2018. Planned? A new workforce based learning program AND approach. It all appears to be housed in the NC DPI’s CTE Office, too. You’ll more than likely find this type of activity in your State.

Both NCWorks and CTE use Perkins funding. Perkins funding was not to be embedded in K-12th education when it first began. Perkins funds were for post-secondary educational institutions and programs. However, when the CCSS Machine began the shift from academics to workforce, Perkins funds found their way into the classroom. ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act) even embeds CTE and Perkins funds.

You can also read about the recent 6 States (NC, AL, IA, IL, NV, and RI) involved in the CTE/STEM Workforce based Siemens Corporation education initiative.

CTE also marries Common Core to STEM.

The Siemens Initiative began back in 2015. According to the Siemens overview, it was to target ‘young adults’ (16-24 years). However, the NC workforce education plan (above) is to start in 6th grade or about 11 years old.  The Siemens Foundation partners are some heavy-hitting CCSS Machine member groups.

**I also am sharing this now to tie all of this to the fact that the HEA (Higher Education Act) is being re-written. It has been for a while now.

In these last remaining days for Congress (before the 2017 holiday recess), Rep. Foxx is the sponsor of HR 4508PROSPER Act.  It’s the House’s re-authorization of the HEA (Higher Education Act) .

Warriors, it combines CTE, STEM, CCSS, Workforce agenda, globalization, data mining,  and, cradle to grave data tracking.

Warriors, remember, while these moves SOUND good, I’ve already shown you evidence of how DANGEROUS these actions will be to our schools!

Oh, and let’s not forget Sen. Lamar Alexander’s bragging about overhauling HEA. He’ll be a big mouthed liar once again in 2018 when it comes to education.

I’ve researched this ‘sold-out-to-the-CCSS-Machine-Representative’ several times. Her grasp of truly representing her citizens has been replaced by corporate lies.

**I also share all this now, because several federal level bills seek to create national data tracking in the name of education. HR 4174, S2046; the assault on Net Neutrality will also involve data and our right to privacy (this involves the FTC and FCC: both use taxpayer funds for data mining); the ‘data raping’ will continue via many more proposed bills.
Data is needed to pigeon hole students into workforce training aka ‘education’!

Data is the key, here, Warriors.  On one hand, we need to access HOW the data is being used against our children, as well as protect our civil right to freedom of privacy. On the other hand, as Americans, we know we must use the internet for all kinds of purposes. So, shouldn’t it be as open and free to use as possible?

If data becomes privatized or government micro-managed in any way, we’re losing our civil rights. Not to mention how terrible a track record the US government has with cyber security lately.

Ed/Workforce’s Dirty Laundry?!

Hello, my Anti Fed Ed/CCSS Warriors! As you know, I’ve dedicated years to researching just how deep the roots to the shift in American education to workforce training are.

Today’s article will give you a rundown which is sure to help your War vs the Core in your State.

Why you need such a rundown of items is simple. The CCSS Machine’s rhetoric will somewhat slow down during the summer months. A perfect opportunity for us to make some moves of our own. No battle is won without specific preparation.

D.C.’s Dirty Laundry:

So far, during the current Congressional session, there are PLENTY of ‘dirty’ education/workforce bills in the making. Using the Congress.gov website (where you can easily look up bills), there are 733 Workforce bills for the 2017 session.

Since we know what happens in D.C. travels to each of the 50 States, we know what to look for at our General Assemblies, State Congresses, etc. Much like the proverbial red towel left in the load of white sheets, the goal of the CCSS Machine is simple, make all education ‘pink’ (ie: workforce training, not academic-minded). As we also, know, once dyed pink, sheets do not return to their former color easily, if at all.

Below are only a few of the ‘dirty’ bills:

S268, Investing in Student Success Act of 2017 (Senator Young from IN is the main sponsor).
Sounds not so ‘dirty’ right? I mean who doesn’t want to invest in their child’s post-secondary education?! Ah, but Warriors, the ‘dirt’ is that your student and someone not related to you invests in their education via an ISA (Income Share Agreement).

Some hidden ‘dirt’ for S268 is that this FEDERAL bill goes above any existing State law about investment agreements! Targeted group for S268? Low-income students.

HR1837, The 21st Century Energy Workforce Act (Representative Norcross from NJ is the main sponsor)
This bill points out that energy in the United States is the 3rd largest industry. As such, it needs more skilled workers than other industries.
The ‘hidden dirt’ to this bill? Using community colleges for the uniting of all educational choices for STEM/CTE aligned Common Core workforce educated students. (*Note: STEM is short for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math; CTE is short for Career Technical Education. Both are tied to Common Core and have been for years.)

The embedded ‘pink’ stain to this bill? The Secretary of Energy will be in charge of grants for creating apprenticeships to carry all this alignment out. This will, of course, involve the U.S. Dept. of Labor, and the U.S. Dept. of Education.
This HR1837, also establishes a National Center for Excellence for the  21st Century Workforce Advisory Board.(see pages 3 and 4)

A Former ‘Stain’ Which Will Not Wash Out:

Our Senate, over the past 2 Congressional sessions, has tried to get a bill to support a National Workforce Board. See below from Sen. Cantwell’s (WA):

S1304, was last introduced during the 2015-2016 Session by Sen. Cantwell. If you read the 9 pages, it is very similar in several instances to the HR 1837 language. Talk about ‘dirty laundry’….

New Wash Load, Same Old Dirt:

During THIS Congressional Session (2017-2018) The Senate’s 21st Century Energy Workforce Act is mainly sponsored by Sen. Heinrich, NM. It is S895.

S895’s title is officially “Energy Workforce for the 21st Century Act of 2017”. This bill specifies an increase in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) especially for low-income students of ALL ages (like the House’s bill, this one will begin in elementary schools and go all the way to the workforce). This bill also specifies WIOA (Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act’s) definition of ‘education’..just like ESSA did.

S895 will have not only the Secretary of Energy creating education collaborations, but awarding all kinds of incentives to them.

Warriors, if you missed my article from earlier this year about how the major Cabinet agencies all have CTE/STEM plans to streamline education to workforce skills, I urge you to access that information here. It is absolutely key to what we see Congress plotting NOW.

Also, take into consideration that the Federal Budget has millions of taxpayer funds earmarked for job creation. On Page 2 of the 2018 Federal Budget, energy development is at the top of the continued priority list. Education is last. On Page 8, funding/discussion for American jobs is highlighted.

Back in March 2017, when the Blueprint for the Federal Budget was released, I shared with you just how the education/workforce stream of money was being kept alive, in spite of all the noise about reining in the federal overreach into education.

Continuing the Spin Cycle:

S1186 is sponsored by several Senators from across the nation. Leading them is Sen. Baldwin from WI. This bill, the Domestic Maritime Centers of Excellence Act of 2017, would have the Secretary of Transportation select existing community colleges (and technical schools) for an increase in educated workforce training. This Secretary’s assistance also includes funding, use of federal resources, AND, create new career pathways!

S628, Educating Tomorrow’s Workforce Act of  2017 is mainly sponsored by Sen. Kaine of VA. While it’s been rumored VA never had Common Core, it’s been researched and proven VA has Common Core’s ‘adult version’ of education, CTE (Career Tech Education). This bill should be an absolute dead ringer for exposing the shift in education. Why? See below:

Warriors, as you can see, these are just a few of the over 700 bills Congress has created in the name of job creation, education, workforce skills, and more. The bottom line, however, is 100% alignment to WIOA via ESSA. HEA (Higher Education Act) is also to be included. Career Pathways, STEM, and so much more connects every one of these existing laws and proposed bills. Will every one of these bills survive? No, but even if ONE of them succeeds, look at the agenda it embeds, not only federally, but LOCALLY.
The ‘stain’ of CCSS Machine reform is becoming permanently marked on America.

Keeping It Local

Warriors Against the Core, we all know how great it can be to have things available to us without having to go too far from home. BUT, what happens when all the ‘local’ education becomes anything but local?!

We enjoy not having to travel  so far to recieve an education. We need to keep in mind it’s set up for us by those who live far away. We WILL have to adhere to its constraints..like it or not.

It should go without saying that the constraints will include Common Core, in one of its many forms.

The CC Forms Are ‘A-plenty’, But Hardly Original Or Local:

As we know, CC is only one form of the modern education reform’s educratic buzz word ‘game’. There’s the more adult form of CC: CTE (Career Tech Education); then, there’s STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math); there’s STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math); NGSS (Next Gen Science Standards); NGSS (Next Gen Social Studies); C3 (College, Career, Civics Life); CPs (Career Pathways); AAI (American Apprencticeship Iniatiative); CCR (College/Career Readiness), and, probably others we’ve yet to hear about.

The goal, regardless of the name, is the same: Workforce based education for 21st competency based learners.

As we know, none..not ONE of the above alphabet soup names is locally written, created, inspired, or otherwise fashioned together after. Every bit of the programs above is in the CCSS Machine from a top-down force. I do not mean a D.C. to your backyard force, I mean a globally driven force.

So, it should be NO surprise that when we wake up in our homes across America to face another day, we find the CCSS Machine has made one more stride toward us. Today, it may target your little ones; tomorrow, it might be the adults who are targeted; the following day could see our learners who are gifted tapped for the Machine. We may find that our special needs students will also be ‘blessed’ with educratic reform.

The point of the CCSS Machine is that NO age group will escape the top-down education reform.

The Proof Is Right Before Us:

Maybe you’ve seen, Warriors, the ads on social media for education grants awarded to those citizens in America over 50. That’s right, those over the “Golden Age” can get ‘free money’ to go back to school. But, what real LOCAL influence will these people receive if and when they go back to the classroom?

In the picture above, the article shared that across America, certain community colleges waived tutition for students over 60.

That’s great, right? I mean, who doesn’t love free stuff?! But, as I’ve shared with you time and time again, our community colleges are being used as workforce education mills for the CCSS Machine.

If I’m one of these lovely elderly citizens, I may not know that by going to college for ‘free’ is laced with workforce agenda. If you know someone like this, share my  August 2016 article detailing the CCSS Machine’s power grab for citizens ages 50 and over. 

Wait, though…what if I’m a student under age 50?! What waits for me at my local community college or for-profit school? 

The CCSS Machine Grinds On:

Warriors, you know we’ve seen and heard plenty to prove CCSS is after the zero to post-secondary set. Somehow, that’s EASY to talk about. But, no matter how much evidence surfaces for those above a college graduate level (say, around 30 years and older), the conversations become hushed, or worse, non-existent.

It’s also quite okay to say CCSS is infiltrating public education. Try using that mindset backed by evidence for all the other school choices and you can be laughed at, scoffed at, or, my favorite; wearing your tin foil hat a bit too tight.

Since we know the CCSS Machine is linked to the UN’s Master Agenda, we should be ready admit that NO AGE limit is to be free and safe from the reform happening.

So, why was education chosen as the ‘silver bullet’ of the change agents?
Education is an on-going process. It is open to any age limit. Learning, without the CCSS Machine, is a natural progression.

Ah, The Aligned and Defined:

Community Colleges, as I’ve proven before are the ideal location for the CCSS Machine to grasp anyone who’s not been its grasp before. How? Think about it, home educated students often choose (or have chosen for them) their local community colleges for dual enrollment, or, as a stop gap between their K-12 education and any further education. Community colleges welcome those who are between careers, needing to take a course of two for their job, rehabilitate a person who’s been in prison, or, anyone going back to school after some absence.

Community Colleges are also beacons in their respective towns. Local taxpayer funds go into these schools..but so do federal dollars. Warriors, that, as we know, is the downfall of every single State in the United States. The local control, the local say completely gets muted when federal funds are involved. So, what’s the latest anti CCSS News as far as community colleges go? How will this news impact any age person who attends a community college?

The Digital “Do-Gooders”:

Warriors, if you’ve not clicked on any of the embedded links so far, you won’t know how ESSA, WIOA, and HEA (Every Student Succeeds Act/Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act/Higher Education Act) are woven into every age group.

That stated, I am positive, you, as an  anti CCSS Warrior, do know about the ‘digital do-gooders’. You know them by their name or their sales pitches. These are the companies which act ‘educational’ with their computer, devices, software, and ‘personalized learning’.

These are the companies which have lobbyists championing the ‘ditch the traditional textbook and let’s get everyone on-line’ sales pitch. All the while, the legislators stare googly-eyed at the prospect of how going 100% digital will make them an ‘education rock star’ with the voters back home. If you believe the hype, there’s so much digital goodness to be had in education, it’s a wonder the entire nation isn’t running over with saints!

One such company, Vital Source has created a wonderful (and I do mean it sarcastically) guide of digital ‘do-goodness’ for EdSurge (a sold out CCSS Machine member organization).

If you are an educator, this video will show you have to ‘leverage’ data for better ‘personalized learning’.

For those who are in the school leadership positions, Google’s using the digital opportunities to include school administrators in the data sharing of what goes on in the classroom. See this article.

Closing:

Warriors, make no mistake, the CCSS Machine has proven time and time again, that by every available means, it is out to assimilate everyone in its path. The question is, how willing are we to stop this?

 

Bridges and Ladders

My Fellow Anti Fed Ed Warriors,

In the above picture you see a classic example of a brilliant mind. Leonardo da Vinci’s “Revolving Bridge”.  He created this, and other bridges for military purposes. The bridges were light weight (easy to carry, travels well), they were sturdy (conveyed strength), and they lasted long periods of time.

I use this as an example, not to give you a history lesson, but to use it as an analogy for the webinar devoted to higher education.

During the CCSS Machine sponsored webinar, education bridges, ladders, and pathways were discussed. Much like Leonardo da Vinci’s “Revolving Bridge”, higher education is set to become transportable (easy to carry, travels well/stackable, chunkable certifications), sturdy with more ‘rigor’ (conveying strength), and lock in lifelong learning (lasts a long time).

The Webinar:

Hosted by Atlantic Live! (an arm of the publication, The Atlantic Magazine) Atlantic Magazine also has another arm, a project called “Next America”. If memory serves me correctly, the last time I wrote about “Next America”, Sen. Lamar Alexander was a featured speaker. If I’m thinking correctly it was the time period leading up to HR5 (Student Success Act) and S1177 (Every Child Achieves Act) were in the making. Of course, as history shows, HR5 and S1177 ‘married’ and gave us ESSA, Every Student Succeeds Act.

Why do I bring this up? IF history is about to repeat itself, then Atlantic’s Next America having Rep. John Kline and other sold out CCSS Machine members gather to ‘discuss’ where higher education should go, we need to pay attention! Especially when your conversation guides are hand picked to feed the agenda of streamlining education to create a birth to grave education ladder or bridge.

The image you see above is NOT from one of the CCSS Machine member organizations present at the webinar. But, it does give you a great idea how the webinar’s conversation was geared.

Lumina Foundation, the Gates Foundation, Next America, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and key members from SIGs (special interest groups) in higher education either had representative speak or they helped fund the production. Adding Rep. John Kline as the only federal Congress member was not a fluke. It was a strategic move. Kline admitted during the webinar that he had just come from breakfast with Sen. Lamar Alexander. You see, the two are partners in education demise.

The Biggest Warnings for Us:

1) The changes are coming, no doubt at all. The CCSS Machine has already begun turning the screws for higher education/post-secondary education. As I’ve shared with you many times, this is how EVERY citizen from ALL educational backgrounds will be funneled through the CCSS Machine. One of the choice terms for citizens during the webinar? “Human Capital”. The very first comment spoken by the Lumina Foundation’s education ‘expert’: “Post-secondary education MUST change.”

2) The CBE (competency based education), Career Pathways, MOOCs, digital learning, soft skills development, and more are the front runners for all the changes. New patterns, systems, and alignment are either in the works, or yet to be created. BUT, they will be added.
3) Purposed placement of school counselors in our K-12 systems are already identifying students who are ‘achievers’, tracks them, pulling them into a pathway to a baccalaureate degree in college (sometimes early college) via community colleges(which by the way, are Common Core, Career Tech aligned). Then, these graduates are funneled through to a 4 year institution. Look for “Pathways Colleges”. The example program given was “Pathway to Baccalaureate”. See: https://www.nvcc.edu/pathway/ (*Note: look for the ‘extraordinary pipeline to college’. Running this program? Former NC Community College President, Scott Randall. He was key in helping align all 58 NC Community Colleges to the CCSS Machine.)

The rest of the students? They get tracked too. Their path will be directly to community college, get a skill, get a job. Return to community college, get another skill, return to job. Repeat this cycle until you have all the credentials you need to enter your career field. The ‘new’ higher education?! Imagine it for 100% of the population. I’m not kidding. Some form of higher education (aka: post-secondary institution) is what can help America.

4) Rep. Kline’s comments contained these ‘gems’.
a) The key higher education moves in the U.S. House’s “Better Way” plan. It was revealed that the Paul Ryan pushed Plan is based largely on Kline’s earlier work in politics. Education is SO important that it’s embedded in the ‘economy’ plan under item #4.

However, for all the bi-partisanship in the House, he didn’t mention the House Democrats view for higher education. Examples of CCSS aligned programs: TRIO and GEAR UP.) Kline was asked how the Senators view higher education. He said that was ‘unfair’.)
b) The U.S. Congress only has a few days left before closing before the 2016 Election, so much has to be done quickly. Means rushed legislation moves. Bad news for everyone.
c) “More Access, More Success” via lower costs in higher education. His solutions?! CBE and digital education. America MUST promote innovation! This will keep the government out of the way. Oh really?! I guess the ConnectEd, the Computer Science for All, Digital Promise, etc. are all ways to keep government of education. Especially when each of these i is embedded ALREADY in ESSA and WIOA (Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act) or their related legislation. By the way, Kline said there have been 5 related bills already passed by the entire Congress to continue support for America’s College Promise (Obama’s plan for ‘free’ community college. “Free” is costing taxpayers at least $60 billion.) Way to keep government out of education, huh?!
d) Kline favors more digital, that’s obvious, but he also stated that families and students need things simple..as in a digital dashboard. The biggest impediment right now in higher education? Seat time because it’s taking away from CBE time and hinders credit hours. More P3s (used the Clemson/car manufacturing joint program as an example.) are the best way for America to go.

5) Add to your list of global programs, like “Education for All” and “Universal PreK for All”. The new one brought up in the webinar? “Universal Free Public Higher Education”.

Speaking of The Global Citizen:

There was plenty more in the webinar which can be used to alert us to the ‘global citizen’ mindset that the CCSS Machine is shoving at us.
a) pay as you go/learn to earn models
b) systems where higher education tracks your work hours while tracking your education hours so that you can have 2 transcripts to show you are a skilled citizen
c) eliminating extra curricular activities to divert space for the common community’s good (example: Paul Quinn College shut down their football team (said it was a drain on finances) and converted the football stadium into an organic community accessible farm.) The President of Paul Quinn College has been glorified by the Atlantic Magazine. He’s also been groomed for educational ‘success’ in part by the Aspen Institute. I am not singling out this college, but rather, using it as an example. The reason we have extra curricular activities like football, arts, music, etc. is to expand our minds, exercise our bodies. Seeing these vital parts of Americana vanish is sad. Seeing them aligned to the CCSS Machine, outright tragic.

Seeing so many leaders in America moving us away from independence and freedom is not only un-American, it’s criminal!

Hitting the Books, Part 2

Anti CCSS/ESSA Warriors, it has been almost 2 years since I shared with you how the CCSS (Common Core State Standards) Machine is overreaching into our public libraries. In between the time I first published this news and now, what, if anything, has been going on? PLENTY! Especially with the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) as law of the land.

What Caught My Eye:

A recent weekly newspaper which comes delivered for free in my neighborhood had a brief statement. I have the screen shot below so you can see what I saw. While the location states “Denver”, it is not the Colorado city, rather a small town in North Carolina.

What you see below is from Detroit, Michigan and is the Mark Twain Public Library. In my mind this is a great visual for how our libraries have been culled for any books which are NOT aligned to Common Core or its agenda. If your library is like my local one, almost every book BEFORE 2008’s publishing date has been REMOVED!

So, What ARE the Priorities?

From the Institute of Museum and Library Services (www.imls.gov), here are the priorities embedded in the federal Laws which are in place to award the grants to each of the US States and its Territories. Federal laws 20 U.S. C. 9121 and 20 U.S.C. 9141. The 9121 is for the reasons museums and libraries need grants; the 9141 gives the parameters for the award money.

9121:Enhance coordination among federal programs that relate to library and information services; promote continuous improvement in library services in all types of libraries in order to better serve the people of the United States; facilitate access to resources in all types of libraries for the purpose of cultivating an educated and informed citizenry; encourage resource sharing among all types of libraries for the purpose of achieving economical and efficient delivery of library services to the public; promote literacy, education, and lifelong learning and to enhance and expand the services and resources provided by libraries, including those services and resources relating to workforce development, 21st century skills, and digital literacy skills; enhance the skills of the current library workforce and to recruit future professionals to the field of library and information services; ensure the preservation of knowledge and library collections in all formats and to enable libraries to serve their communities during disasters; enhance the role of libraries within the information infrastructure of the United States in order to support research, education, and innovation; and promote library services that provide users with access to information through national, state, local, regional, and international collaborations and networks.”

Warriors, did you see ‘workforce’? That will tie into the WIOA (Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act) as well! Did you see the ’21st Century skills’?! That will tie to the ESSA, the WIOA, and the HEA (Higher Education Act). Did you see the ‘digital literacy’? ESSA has set aside almost $850 million for nationwide digital renovations! The STEM Education Act will also be tied to every bit of this, too! I am sure other laws will also be connected.

9141: Expand services for learning and access to information and educational resources in a variety of formats, in all types of libraries, for individuals of all ages in order to support such individuals’ needs for education, lifelong learning, workforce development, and digital literacy skills; establish or enhance electronic and other linkages and improved coordination among and between libraries and entities for the purpose of improving the quality of and access to library and information services; provide training and professional development, including continuing education, to enhance the skills of the current library workforce and leadership, and advance the delivery of library and information services; enhance efforts to recruit future professionals to the field of library and information services; develop public and private partnerships with other agencies and community-based organizationstarget library services to individuals of diverse geographic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds, and to individuals with limited functional literacy or information skills; target library and information services to persons having difficulty using a library and to underserved urban and rural communities, including children (from birth through age 17) from families with incomes below the poverty line (as defined by the Office of Management and Budget and revised annually in accordance with section 9902(2) of title 42) applicable to a family of the size involved; develop library services that provide all users access to information through local, state, regional, national, and international collaborations and networks; and carry out other activities consistent with the purposes set forth in section 9121, as described in the SLAA’s plan.”

Warriors, did you notice the repeated emphasis on ‘electronics’ (aka ‘digital’)? Did you see the ‘public private partnership’ included? ESSA mandates for MORE P3 (public private partnerships) in education,as well as total community alignment in the name of support for student achievement! Much of ESSA is written with the underserved in mind., as well. In fact, much of Title One funding is being transformed to include more folks as underserved, so they, too, can be aligned! Finally, did you notice the ‘international’ and other ‘collaborations’? This most definitely  fits the global aspects of the Common Core Agenda for global education, global citizens, and global workers.

Each State has a 5 year plan for their grant money, the federal government reviews each State Plan every 5 years as well. Among the highlights of NC’s grant money, data collection, career/workforce development, lifelong learning, and, of course, partners in the community. Warriors, consider this fact (according to the Institute for Museum and Library Services:
there are 123,000 libraries across our Nation and 35,00 museums. Those are big numbers the CCSS Machine is using to advance community alignment. With ESSA as law of the land, we will see even more community alignment.

Helping the Institute for Museum and Library Services embed a collective, common good mindset in each community is the LISC (Local Initiatives Support Corporation). Why look at the LISC? Simple, among the original donors, the Ford Foundation, a HUGE CCSS Machine member, joined others who are out to improve communities. While community improvement IS a good thing, filtering it through the CCSS Machine agenda is NOT. See the other original donorsand the top current ones.
