Beware, The “Change”

Anti  Fed Ed Warriors, have many times have we heard that  ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act) will REDUCE testing?! How many times will it take (via research) to prove this is a LIE?! Recently, the State of Utah was awoken to the fact that ‘opting out of the high stakes’ testing cannot happen. Fellow anti Fed Ed Warrior, Autumn Cook gives you the full blow-by-blow account.

I truly hope Utah will step up and sue the U.S. Dept. of Education, as well as all the involved in violating our student’s privacy rights.

Surprised? We shouldn’t be. When ESSA was first being combed over (before it became law), the mandate for a strict 95% testing rate, was largely scoffed at and dismissed. Despite warnings and proof of this, millions have been banking on the lies about ESSA. Even in 2018, we are seeing ‘opt-out guides’.

, ESSA is clear: opting out will not be possible. Testing, not only will remain, BUT must INCREASE! How? Those daily assessments via computer based learning!

The ties to the student/teacher data rape will INCREASE (did you know ESSA’s mandates include that ALL current assessments/tests not only must communicate well with the past 3 years of data, BUT, they also must either match OR be similar to what assessments/tests your neighboring States use!

I’ve been contacted by a few parents who are discovering that because of ESSA’s language and the mandates, those tests their children WERE able to opt-out of, are now being held against them. How? By not taking ‘x’ number of tests, the holes in the SLDS (Student Longitudinal Data System) cannot be filled with anything else. Too many holes in the data means no graduation!

We have to STOP believing the CCSS Machine, Warriors! Take the time to access my entire set of ESSA/assessment articles. In these you’ll see just how heavy handed the federal government will be when it comes to ALL school choices (even homeschooling) and their testing. (*Note: this plays right into the Gates plan that all ‘assessments will drive the curriculum’.)

Not Just Utah:

While the article from Utah which Autumn wrote exposes quite a bit, NC’s State Superintendent of Education, Mark Johnson has been ‘busy’ producing testing ‘changes’ for students. (Here’s the link, but be sure to read the line where it states the laptops can do more than monitor kids.)

While this sounds great and appears to back up the NC Teacher Survey (where teachers do express they know the students are tested too much), we need to look VERY  CLOSELY at the ‘changes’. Why? “Innovation” Is A CCSS Machine Buzzword:

Warriors, we’ve seen ESSA embed ‘innovation’ in its mandates. Research has proven ‘innovation’ in education is not all sunshine and roses.

“Innovation” means technology increases. The increases mean infrastructure changes to beef up internet access. Innovation means textbooks disappear and constant data tracking happens. Innovation has to be in place for the data to be collected and sold.

“Innovation” also uses another CCSS Machine fallacy filled phrase: “personalized learning” or PL. PL is a huge data raper.

Look what student/teacher student group Johnson’s ‘reduction’ targets: the littlest learners! Warriors, NC is NOT alone in this alignment/assault of our children!! Look back at Utah’s case, the student data rape will continue via the not being able to opt out.

Remember, Warriors, the biggest smoke and mirror move across America, thanks to ESSA is the amount of end of grade or course testing MAY decrease, BUT the daily ASSESSMENTS and TRACKING increase!

Innovation forces a managed system for economics. Sure, one of the by-products of innovation CAN be ‘learning’, but education is NOT the reason ‘innovation’ is happening in our school districts. It IS what is being shoved on us. It’s also being sold to us as the only way to prepare students for the 21st Century.

Data not only means economic gain, it means control. Think about it, control the education, you control the schools.

Closing:

Warriors, the bottom line is this: innovation will not be our education’s true friend. It’s a change, alright, but it’s setting up changes we really MUST beware.

Innovation via technology which data rapes us ALL is popping up everywhere across America. My fellow researcher and whistle-blower, Patrick Wood has shown us how our privacy is assaulted via the Smart Meters. Think how this connects to your school issued technology device used at home. Not only are Johnny and Suzy tracked, but the entire family is. ESSA included THAT, too in its mandates.

FY 2019 will have scads of data raping programs.

Remember, data isn’t simply a way to make big bucks off our private information, it’s control. It’s manipulation and it’s criminal.

Consorting To Align And Undermine

Anti Fed Ed Warriors, we know the shift in education FROM academics TO workforce is NOT new.

We know the CCSS Machine sped things up in the streamlined ‘cradle to career’ shift via CC (Common Core), CTE (Career Tech Education, the ‘adult’ version for CC), STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and, Math), STEAM, (Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and, Math), CPs (Career Pathways), CCs (Career Clusters), CTs (Career or College Tracks), and, CCR (College and Career Readiness).

We also know that federal legislation has played directly into the cogs of the CCSS Machine via WIOA, Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (2014), ESSA, Every Student Succeeds Act (2015), STEM Act of 2015, the re-authorization of Perkins Funding (which gives money to all 50 States for a big portion of everything you see in bold above.) We will certainly see it in the ‘new’ version of the HEA (Higher Education Act) as it continues to be ‘rewritten’.

What Consortium?

Warriors, notice the K-12 inclusion, the community alignment, the local economic boosting potentials. What you don’t see is the use of the words ‘workforce’ or ‘career tech education’. “Entrepreneurship” is being used as an educratic replacement!

While most of our academic standards in 2004 were not CCSS aligned, they have since been. Look below to see an overview of the 15 strands of this business education standards. The MBA Research and Curriculum Center:

Warriors, MBA(Marketing and Business Administration) Research and Curriculum Center certainly carry the entrepreneurship beyond the 2nd year of college, but is this Center, associated with business, also in on the CCSS Machine, like the National Consortium for Entrepreneurship Education? Let’s find out.

Since there’s such a strong tie between businesses in education in the MBA Research and Curriculum Center, it’s not surprising to find there’s another Coalition contained among the MBA. It’s mission is crystal clear as to their allegiance to the CCSS Machine:
“Encourage the teaching of core business skills and economic concepts for college- and career-ready high school curricula.”

One of the ways this is carried out? PBL (Project Based Learning). Another? Extra-curricular clubs like FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America). (*Note: in my article , I show you how PBLs are ‘code’ for CBE, Competency Based Learning. CBE is an updated term for the Outcome Based Education from the 1990s. If you are not sure how the FBLA fits into the CCSS Machine, I have that laid out, here.)

Why This Should Matter:

Warriors, as the shift from academics to workforce continues, we’ll see more and more higher education institutions do away with what have traditionally been wonderfully accepted degrees for teachers and those leading our students. Majors in history, English, and, others are either declining OR are being phased out. For example, the University of WI at Stevens Point wants to do away with 13 majors.
Back in February 2018, the University of IL explained that cutting majors happens when budgets are cut. Their article also said it can be an effort to reduce student debt.

As we’ve seen, the CCSS Machine (via DC) has used ‘reducing student debt’ as a rhetorical reason for ramping up Competency Based Education. Warriors, it’s not so much about reducing debt (or taxpayer burdens). This type of rhetoric 100% supports the continued shift away from academics and plays right into the workforce training.

We also should consider that those in leadership for groups like the MBA and the EntreEd show up in other places. For example, the former leader of BOTH, MBA and EntreEd, will now lead NC in CTE (Career Tech Education) as its director.

Back in December 2017, I showed you what was coming for the Tar Heel State for Career Tech Education and how it would reach even younger students than ever before. No doubt the new CTE Director will make sure this happens…at taxpayer expense without taxpayer consent.

Warriors, who among your State education leaders used to be in another arm or leg of the CCSS Machine? Where are they now, do you know how they are continuing the workforce shift?

Closing:

While the CCSS Machine consorts and conspires against us? How will we, the Warriors, conspire and consort toward a counter-attack? Simply taking our students out of public education is not a real solution. Why? Because the cradle to career streamline will impact every single student at some point.

We must remember, ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act) tightened the circle around all educational choices. Page 17 of the Law was deadly serious when it laid out the mandate for ALL education to be workforce readiness aligned! The goal of the CCSS Machine is to have NO choice, but a workforce training one, for every citizen and student.

So, Where’s the Choice?

Warriors Against Fed Led Education, the image you see above was featured in one of my 2015 articles detailing the scam behind school choice. Since then, I’ve (along with others) have repeatedly sounded the call against ‘school choice’.

Why?

It wasn’t that we didn’t believe in the parents right to choose the education for their children. It was because we knew the CCSS Machine was erasing ALL choices in education but one: workforce geared, skill based Common Core (aka: College/Career Ready; Future Ready; Choice ReadyNext Gen Standards and Assessments; STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and, Math) as well as many other names for deceptive purposes).

Warriors, ESSA(Every Student Succeeds Act) stated in no uncertain terms that ALL education MUST be aligned to the SAME Standards! No exceptions.
The CCSS Machine’s deception is trying to still convince America that ‘choices’ are available in education.

The truthful reality is, no, true choice died when President Obama signed ESSA into law.

Since 2011, this group has been doing a ‘bang up’ job of deceiving folks. Wait, why would I say ‘since 2011’? ESSA wasn’t a law then. You’re correct, ESSA wasn’t a law yet, but Common Core had taken over education in every choice available by 2011.

My fellow Warrior, Alice Linahan, published a scathing report (2017) on who is really behind the National School Choice Week organization.

What’s New For 2018?

Warriors, the penguins will be dancing (that’s what they do in the GIF on social media) into our areas the 21st-27th of January. Believe it or not, there’s even a dance for people to celebrate school choice. Of course, you can purchase the song and video.

Yes, nothing says let’s deceive folks quite like a catchy tune and some pumped up (fake) enthusiasm.

Warriors, these folks may be dancing now, but what will they be doing when they see ESSA fully implemented and NO choice in education is still around? Remember, the way the law is laid out, everything is to be fully in place for ESSA by now. However, all States were to have their State Plans submitted to the U.S. Secretary of Education no later than Sept. 2017. If you’ll remember, there were 2 submission dates. Seventeen States chose the earlier 2017 date, while the majority waited until September. The point is, it’s mid-January 2018. Each State which chose the latter date AND received an ‘interim feedback’ letter from Sec. DeVos, is under a 120 day time crunch. The federal level department has to react to each State plan within that time frame.

For example, where I live (North Carolina) received its ‘interim feedback’ letter on Dec. 13, 2017. For all the things which US Ed required, the State had a mere 2 weeks (with Christmas, Hanukkah, and Kwanzaa right in the middle of it all) to re-submit its Plan. The letter was sent by Jason Botel, not Betsy DeVos. It appears that all the Fall 2017 States also received a Dec. 2017 letter with Botel’s name attached. Since there are 34 States, I only checked a few States which surround NC and saw the pattern.

The State Plans are being held up due to the fact the feds do not think the States are compliant enough. Remember how it was deceptive spoken that ESSA would give the educational control BACK to the States?

What’s interesting is that supposedly Botel was released by the US Ed before Dec. 2017, so why is his name used as the signature?

Warriors, with this much backlog and confusion, ESSA’s fullest version and implementation will be taking place in the 2018-19 academic year. All this means is a longer and stronger grip on ‘locally controlled’ education by the federal government..not LESS and certainly not full of choices.

Warriors, back in January 2017, I wrote about the lessons we should be learning from the (then) current state of federally controlled education. In the midst of that article was the reality of the school choice belonging to the parents and their heartfelt desires. Go back and read how that lesson has been trampled upon since ESSA, since the presidential election, since DeVos, and since organizations like National School Choice Week have been in ‘charge’.

With this January (2018) “Choice Week” about to launch, there is plenty we can do to protest, to expose the fallacies, and to protect our children from this massive deception.

It’s Good to Have Friends

Just a couple of days ago, one of my long-time Warrior friends, John E. in Nevada, contacted me with some good news. He’d written an article for his local paper and it was published!

He wanted me to share it as the topic is the obsessive and intrusive data mining we see happening every day in schools across America.

Here are the main points John knows are vital to share:

1) John’s article refers to a 11/29/16 meeting where his county’s school board made a presentation. The reporter who was there gathered quite a bit of evidence from that meeting and published a separate article about the massive amounts of data (school related and not) being taken from students. 2) John is also the administrator of the Nevadans Against Common Core. As long as I’ve been sharing my research nationwide,  his note about not only fighting Common Core, but the data mining reminds me how serious a Warrior he is.

3) “Infinite Campus” is the data mining tool of choice in all the NV school districts.

4) Google Apps of Ed, Edmodo, and Microsoft’s third party data collection and use is a big concern to many parents in John’s district. Good for them! Hold those leaders accountable, ask the tough questions and do not accept a non-responsive answer.

5) While Edmodo is ‘free’ to school districts, the money made to pay for it is based off the student data itself.

I found the answer to WHY all this data’s collected. See below:

In a few words, we can see the reason is a streamlined track from kindergarten to college graduation for ‘post-secondary success’.

What we also need to know is that this particular district began data mining students back in 1998, well before all the ‘college and career’ or ‘post-secondary readiness’ cow-chip-education-reform-rhetoric. According to the document I found, it was determined (some time between 1998 and now) that such information was needed and a P-16 data tracking system (called the Education Alliance P-16 Council) was created. Below is what Washoe’s been up to since the Council was created. Note the CCSS Machine member group highlighted:

First, some quick facts:
 1)  NV is looked upon as a champion CTE (Career Tech Education). I am referring to a Sept. 21st, 2016 Education and Workforce Committee Hearing where the NV Superintendent of the Dept. of Public Education was a featured witness. See my article:

Warriors Against the Core! Warriors Opposed to Federally Led Education!!

Are you tired of all the agenda, reform, and propaganda which comes with  CCSS, or, as it is more politically correct, ‘College and Career Readiness’?!

It all reminds me of a bunch of  junkies. Especially when you factor in the amount of money spent to ‘snow’ our nation into believing Common Core and its Machine are the best thing for America since ‘dirt was invented’.

No, Warriors, quite the opposite is true: Common Core and ALL that goes with it have driven our nation straight to ‘pot’!

I call those involved ‘agenda driven junkies’. Question is who among our leaders from D.C. to downtown are strung out on the lies? The agenda junkies don’t only help string education along, they are taking their toxicity into your neighborhoods.

The U.S. Dept. of Education (with some pretty ‘addictive’ help) has published a Plan to turn our communities into ‘USERS’.

The simplest way to state it: Public private partnerships (P3s) were purposefully expanded in ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act). If you factor in the other federal laws where the P3s are also embedded (WIOA, Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act and the HEA, Higher Education Act), you’ll start to see the ‘need for a fix’: businesses need workers to build the economy. What ‘cheaper’ way in which to train workers than by selling a ‘crack’ education like is was the best drug in town?!

                             Our students are the businesses’ ‘fix’.

U.S. Dept. Of Education’s Community User Plan:

I literally stumbled across this Aug. 2016 document just a few days ago. Of course, the agenda junkies at US Ed, came up with a ‘cool’ sounding name for the Plan, but the main point: how the P3s and/or CBAs will use our communities for workforce based education.


So, what’s the name of the Plan?

The Highs And Lows Of The Plan:
1) The relationships between education and local businesses (P3s) is still pretty new. So, in order to make the most of this, the Plan lays out how to use this ‘urban and development tool’ as the source for filling the need of educated workforce. (Oh, by the way, did you know ESSA involves the U.S. Dept. of Housing and Urban Development?!)

2)  CBAs (Community Benefit Agreements), according to the Plan are slightly different than P3s in the overreach in education. Both carry a steep price: our schools.

3) By combining CTE and CBAs, your town can be assured of a steady ‘supply’ of educated workers strung out on agenda, not academics; on feeding your local economy not feeding their minds. Here’s how the Plan worded it, “This paper will help state and local policymakers understand the potential use of CBAs to support the delivery of high-quality CTE services in schools and colleges serving their surrounding communities. CBAs can serve as a potent tool for delivering comprehensive CTE programs that benefit a broad population of resident youths and adults. This desired outcome can be accomplished only if those charged with negotiating CBAs understand the benefits of well-designed CTE programs—and the importance of engaging CTE educators from the secondary and postsecondary levels in planning discussions.”

4) The ‘common agenda’ of the Plan? A unified, stronger community.

5) The Plan cites 2 Case Studies where CBAs and early CTE efforts were combined.Of these it appears these date back to 2004 and extend to the current year.
One involves Home Depot, Inc. (*Note: Home Depot, Inc. was tied to the new Chair of the U.S. House of Representatives’ Ed/Workforce Committee, Rep. Virginia Foxx in my “Fox in a Hen House” article, published yesterday.)

6) A source cited in the Plan refers to a 2013 construction career book, The Construction Careers Handbook, published by the Partnership for Working Families (2013), and how those who want to push CTE can create labor/education conversations. The goal? To make CTE even more rigorous!

The RTI International, Inc. is the newer name for the Research Triangle Institute based right in Research Triangle (Raleigh-Durham, NC). On their website, the Career and Technical Education can be found on the “Education and Workforce Development” page.
The group shares that they are busy behind the scene of ‘education’ and ‘global’ workforce. They collect massive amounts of data. Here’s an excerpt, “Clients in the education space rely on us to track elements such as early childhood health, school readiness, academic performance, noncognitive skills development, high school graduation and the transition to college, financial aid and college completion, and workforce education.”

Just released yesterday, was this glowing article about how fantastic and ‘for education’ Vice President-elect Pence is. Sure, the IN based media has a right to brag..after all it is one of their own who will be second in command of the entire nation. (article link is below in the ‘school choice’ portion)
Pardon me, if I (along with other Anti CCSS Warriors) are not joining in the celebration.

Let me state, it is not Gov. Pence I am attacking, it is his involvement in education I wish to bring to light. First, the stance on Career Tech Education. Then, the stance on vouchers and school choice.

Career Tech Education: Education/Workforce Alignment For All Ages:

Recently, I’ve shown you how the U.S. House’s Education and Workforce Committee has used Gov. Pence’s words about the glories and praises of CTE (Career Tech Education). Those words were from 2015. With their  mantra, our Congress has been spreading, they are leaving out some very crucial details. (For example, see the ‘featured shot’ above.) Warriors, I’ve been sharing with you for years about the toxicity of CTE (Career Tech Education). Why? It is the adult form of Common Core. It is all about workforce education, NOT academic education. It is designed for EVERY educational choice known to mankind due to all the locations it is embedded.

From my research, I’ve shown you how this ‘adult version’ has reversed itself and now traces backwards into K-12 education. It also extends itself into community colleges, apprenticeships, job seeking services, and everywhere in between. Four year colleges, on-line colleges, some private higher education institutions (especially the for-profit trade based schools) ALL have CTE!

Warriors, from my article I’ve linked you to above, you can see how Congress is considering some pretty wide sweeping CTE legislation. That article mentions 2 pieces. However, back in August, I showed you a total of 4! Each are toxic on their own, but it is the LADDER Act which is the MOST damming of all. In this undated IN article, the two bills to strengthen CTE in IN were described as ‘sweet music’. The first bill combined P3s (public private partnerships) to create workforce based education. The second bill created ways for all the ‘stakeholders’ to be present at the same time and place. Pence stated CTE would reduce the drop out rate, help IN’s economy, and attract new jobs. He also stated he’d create a new high school curriculum for ‘vocational tech’. Warriors, CTE is the re-brand name for ‘vocational tech’!

Over on the Trump Campaign website, you’ll find a glowing statement made by Pence about Trump’s school choice plans. GOV. PENCE:“A Bold Set Of Policies That Will Increase Accountability And Lead To Better Results For Our Nation’s Children…” ” To see the policies:

*Note: I do not know for a fact if either of these elected officials is aware of the dangers in ‘school choice’, ‘education savings accounts’ (vouchers/tax incentives), or re-prioritizing federal funds to create these ‘opportunities’. I do not know if they are aware that all that accountability they seem to believe is available in these options is a fallacy. Why? ESSA and its accountability mandates decrease local control NOT increase it! ESSA and its language neuter school choice completely.
Feeding this rhetoric (regardless of political affiliations) to our nation only accomplishes 3 things:
a) furthers the CCSS Machine grasp on education thereby increasing the P3 overreach
b) renders campaign promises as null and void as to ending CCSS thereby strengthening CTE (CCSS’s extension)
c) sets our nation up to continue its global workforce education streamlined march into a caste America

The IN based article (the very first picture you saw with “In Pence, Trump Finds School Choice Advocate”), you’ll see that Pence is heralded as a champion for not only choice, but vouchers. Read this excerpt, school choice policies that have come to define Indiana’s educational landscape could gain an unprecedented prominence on the federal level.”

Warriors, this should have us all concerned. We DO NOT need more federal level education activity!

Another huge warning should be this quote, “While the administration of President Barack Obama has supported the expansion of charter schools nationwide, educators expect the Trump-Pence administration to provide a bully pulpit for national discussions on school choice.”

Warriors, we’ve seen the many other Obama administration overreaches into the school systems (ie: data collection, digital assessments which lead to data mining, STEM initiatives, College/Career Readiness initiatives, The American Apprenticeship Initiative (CTE and P3 in one location). We’ve witnessed Vice President Biden join forces with American unions to promote workforce based education on several local, state, and national levels. We are seeing our U.S. Congress create legislation after legislation to continue CTE. We’ve seen our Congress pass, without hesitation, the ESSA which further expands charter schools, incentives (which could be called vouchers or education savings accounts in the future) to States, all the while keeping the workforce based streamlined education embedded for students AND teachers.

Do we really need more of the same? Do we really need a ‘bully pulpit’?

Closing:

It’s important to note that while there is so much true and fact based information as to why school choice is a fallacy, there is just as much fallacy based, misguiding information out there. The CCSS Machine is funding many groups to spread the latter. In fact,they’ve already been at it for a while. How do we know? Look at your State legislation already in place for charter schools. Look at the already passed ‘school choice’ options available.

Then, look at the national groups spearheading BOTH. For example, Jeb Bush’s Foundation for Excellence in Education (I recently wrote and published information about his latest D.C. push for such activities.), EdChoice (formerly the Friedman Foundation) was also featured in the IN news article above. Here’s is an excerpt as to why they re-branded themselves, “Although we will no longer be using their name, we will never lose sight of universal school choice as the intellectual legacy of Milton and Rose D. Friedman. We have been honored to be their legacy foundation during the last 20 years and to be the nation’s only organization solely dedicated to promoting their concept of educational choice. We believe that government has a responsibility to educate the public, but that doesn’t mean writing every child a mandatory prescription for “public school” as it’s been defined over the past 60 years.”

In this You Tube video, be sure to note how the Foundation has already been at work ‘training’ policy and law makers to sway the ‘school choice’ illusion. So, Warriors, our War vs the Core will take on a different direction, it seems. Not only fighting for our students, but debunking the myths so permeating the nation.

Good Colors/Bad Colors

We’ve all had discussions about education. Some of these ‘talks’ are pretty easy; some others aren’t. With most of us back home and resuming our post-Thanksgiving lives, it is easy to think about what was said around the table.

My family is no exception. Most of the family’s offspring are up in age. A few, however, have little ones. By little I mean ’10 years and younger’. My most ‘in-depth’ education conversation wasn’t with one of the grown-ups. It was with a 7 year old.

Here’s what this child is experiencing daily in a summary form:
 “I got a new teacher when I went to my new school. I like this one much better because he gives me good colors. My old school teacher gave me bad colors. I don’t like the bad colors. She was mean.”

My heart still hurts when I recall his face and body language.

Warriors, I do not know about you, but this was something, no one, not even a Warrior Parent had shared. Since parents are being left out of education so much, these Warriors may not know about the ‘good color/bad color’ strategy in the classroom. Maybe they do and are fighting so hard against it, it’s assumed everyone knows.

It doesn’t matter. What DOES matter is looking at how this strategy is reshaping (literally) our children’s mindset.

Behind the Color Wheel, An Old Agenda Awaits:

Warriors, I found this example on Pintrest, along with hundreds of other color behavior management charts. Since I do not know exactly what school my young kinsman attends, I cannot access his school directly.
I did find his school district’s website. No mention about color controlled behavior management was available. (You can also find via an internet search how colors are replacing report cards. We know that in some States report cards and diplomas are being phased out totally.)

So, where’s the ‘agenda’? PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports) While the screen shot you see above may or may not co-ordinate with the particular school district I’m referring to or not, the PBIS, thanks to ESSA, (Every Student Succeeds Act) is only going to get more invasive. An added ‘bonus’? The amount of money to be made by private companies which partner with schools. ESSA gives that opportunity many times in the Law.

PBIS In Real Time:

From the school district information I found that the Positive Behavior uses not only colors (think a traffic light), BUT coins as rewards to use for ‘shopping’.

In this ‘new way’ of behaving, kids are taught that ‘fail’ doesn’t mean the opposite of ‘success’, as it is traditionally taught; no, it represents  an ‘opportunity to try again’, ‘failing is another word for growing’, or ‘first attempt in learning’! Warriors, do you sense the importance of this shift?! (Do an Internet search for the images of these phrases, you’ll be surprised at the shift in traditional critical thinking.)

So, what is the school district I found using for PBIS?
It’s at every grade level; it uses Starbucks Rewards cards; weekly school ‘shopping’ trips;
colors as ‘good’ or ‘not good’ (‘bad’ is not an option); and, levels of keeping behaviors in line with every other student (for example: blue level or gold level, the higher the color, the more the responsibility).

It’s important to note that the school district is Greenville, SC. According to their website, they are SC’s largest school district and the 51st largest in the entire nation. They also are accredited by AdvancEd (a huge CCSS Machine member group which manipulates behavior.)

PBIS for older special needs students (self contained)? Greenville’s School District offers a specific teacher’s letter. In it PBIS is described as a “Behavior Management System”. The introduction states a Unique Learning System (a Standards based on-line curriculum) is also used. “College and Career Readiness” doesn’t just involve education, it arches over into jobs.
Jobs drive the local economy. ESSA and WIOA (Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act) use Career Tech Education and Career Pathways (sometimes Career Clusters). The Higher Education Act (HEA) also plays into this!

The Ultimate Goal for the students in Greenville School District (as well as a national goal we see playing out in ‘real time’)? The screen shot shows only a portion of the information. The entire 2 page brochure reveals the ‘building’ begins in Pre-school!

Warriors, we all are at risk of losing our students to the CCSS Machine’s workforce agenda. It doesn’t matter how young or old our students are. By using colors to encourage or discourage young minds, we condition them unjustly. By using music as cues to be ourselves and chat with others or not, we are restricting personalities. By showing instant gratification for ‘good’ behavior, we are seeing the entitlement programs increase in society.

What’s my little kinsman’s future?! Sadly, like all the rest of ours. A ‘color coded credential for work’ where we are all ‘bronze, silver, gold, or platinum’ workers…not free people with hopes and dreams.
