Education/Workforce: Springtime Edition

Spring has sprung in DC, alright. If you’ve been following my anti Fed Ed/global research information long, you are fully aware of the activities from Washington which have locked in the shift from academics to workforce.

So, my fellow Anti Fed Ed Warriors, what’s in fashion for Spring 2018 in the CCSS Machine’s line of education/workforce reform? Well, apparently dressing up the reform in spring colors. I guess that way it looks a bit more fashionable..and less conforming.

edworkprosper

Ahh, Warriors, isn’t it so pretty?! ‘Streamlined and straight jacketed’ just for our American taxpayers!

If you are not sure what PROSPER is, it is the U.S. House of Representative’s version of what the 1965 HEA (Higher Education Act) should be transformed into.

“PROSPER” stands for ‘Promoting Real Opportunity, Success, and, Opportunity through Education Reform’. It’s HR 4508, it’s key sponsor? Rep. Virginia Foxx (NC) who just happens to be the Chairwoman for the U.S. House of Representatives’ Education and Workforce Committee.

Her ‘design concept’ on all education?

foxxed

As far as the ‘quality’ education in the CCSS Machine, you’ll find more worthiness in what lines the chicken coop floor than you will what’s being fashioned for higher education! Be it in the House OR the Senate.

Either version of the upcoming HEA Re-authorization (PROSPER Act or the Higher Education Innovation Act) will increase the conformity in the education reform. It will tie K-12 students (in all choices) to the CCSS Machine’s workforce standards in higher education. Either will increase the amount of ‘student data rape’ needed to feed the global workforce.

Warriors, we might as well as hand out these Brazilian kid-sized straight jackets for school uniforms and/or diplomas!

cutestraightjacket(*Note: The Brazilian show, Super Nanny created and used this (and other control toys) to spike viewership and point out there’s a better way out there to have a happy family. Source; see how successful the campaign worked by watching the roughly 2 minutes of video.)

In a similar context, we, as those opposed to federal control of education at any age, know that conformed, straight-jacketed workforce education is NOT the better way.

Ed/Work Thinks We Missed Some Things:

Yes, Warriors, the House’s Ed and Workforce Committee must assume we, as taxpayers. are totally clueless. Just last week the Committee published a blog article to show us what we may of missed about PROSPER.
In their article, it was revealed that We the People might of ‘missed’ how great PROSPER will be in 3 areas.
a) grading and assessing ALL higher education institutions, not just the ‘for profit’ (proprietary) ones.
b) how student debt and tuition can be decreased.
c) how the taxpayers lose out when student debt is high.

While it IS true that student debt and tuition are at ridiculously high levels, the obvious is MISSED by Ed/Workforce, not, We the People! How?! Get the government out of the student loan business, Duh! The government hoarding of student loans is awful.

It ramps up the ‘student data rape’ while it controls who can and cannot go to college. The ‘student data rape’ happens every single time a Career Tech Education, Career Track, or Career Pathway, a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and, Math) course is taken.  (there are several other names like “Future Ready”, “College and Career Readiness, etc.)  Be it in middle school, high school, extra curricular classes, dual enrollment, early college, and others.

The data is used against your student (or yourself if you are going back to school) to pigeon hole you to a prescribed course to pursue. Tying ‘success’ in any education choice BEFORE college is used to tie it to your student FAFSA (which is now mandatory to complete in some States). FAFSA has been re-written to ‘data rape’ families.

Warriors, by controlling both the money AND the education, a dangerous trap is being set for Americans. The CCSS Machine is seriously spinning all this as ‘making America better’ or increasing the job market. Which leads to economic gains. However, as we’ve learned, who really loses?! The citizens! They loose their freedom to choose what they wish to live, work, and, how to contribute to society. Citizens also loose when they are continually forced to pick up the bill for ‘free community college’.

The federal government has long been trying to instill a ‘nanny state’. ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act) completed much of this type of alignment. How? It tied not only the WIOA (Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act) ‘education’ standards to K-12, it opened the door for birth to 1st in setting up workforce tracks. Don’t you remember Arne Duncan’s words about looking at the 2nd graders and knowing where they’d end up?!

2ndduncan
By ‘grading’ and assessing all higher education institutions, you’ll also seeing a big CCSS Machine spin on reality. Warriors, remember when ESSA stated that ALL education must be aligned to post-secondary readiness standards? Well, you have to align those post-secondary institutions! The ‘best’ way to force conformity?! Funding!

Closing:

No, Warriors, I do not thing we ‘missed’ anything about PROSPER. I think we totally ‘get it’. D.C. is so far entrenched with lies about their role in education, they have deceived themselves in this case.

As far as this Spring 2018 fashionable makeover for selling “PROSPER”, my advice is to skip it. No one needs springtime straight jackets. Quality education cannot be found in D.C., my followers. When it comes to ‘makeovers’ in education, D.C.’s a ‘knock off’.

Turncoats

URGENT! URGENT! ANTI FED ED WARRIOR ALERT!

As early as next Wednesday, November 15th, 2017, our U.S. Congressional members will be voting on the latest federal level fast-track Bills, HR 4174/ S2046.

These Bills, along with others, represent the type of ‘turncoat’ mindset our elected officials seem to be more in favor of. It appears they rather support the special interest groups than protect their voters.

puppetpeople
The CCSS Machine is turning our school officials into puppets. Are we really OK with this?

I’ve been contacted by several nationally recognized  Anti Fed Ed Warriors to lend my support and voice to opposing this national data collecting monstrous effort. Below are some words by Jane Robbins with the American Principles Project.

robbinswords
Briefly, here is why each of this deadly trio need to be blocked. Note: any of these bills can be ‘stand alone’ ones OR embedded in other, future bills. We MUST stay alert and watchful. We can no longer trust Congress when it comes to protecting/preserving education.

HR 2434, College Transparency Act will continue data mining your child well into their higher education, regardless of where their Pre-K to 12th grade took place. Most of the data collection will be conducted without the student’s knowledge OR consent, much less the parent’s. Included in the data collection will be behavioral data, social and emotional data, it will continue the massive data sharing between multiple federal agencies outside of the U.S. Dept. of Education, and untold numbers of their data sharing vendors. The data trail will follow your child throughout their life.

HR 3157, Student Privacy Protection Act was from the 114th Congressional session (Warriors, we are currently in the 115th session). It’s been dormant since it’s July 2015 introduction. It’s currently collecting dust in the U.S. House’s Ed and Workforce Committee. It’s also been catching the eyes of those in the CCSS Machine which are pushing for its re-introduction.

When I contacted my federal legislative office, I was assured that this Bill was ‘dead’; that NO Senate version exists to replace this, so I should relax. *Note: It’s not simply the House of Reps we should be watching, our Senators are just as accountable and must be watched!

What’s the treacherous portion of HR 3157? Now that ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act) is the federal education mandating law of the land, HR 3157’s language would do everything to support the increase in assessments, data tracking, data sharing, and manipulation related to those assessments. The data harvested from these assessments will be used against your child and their teachers as a means to ‘improve’ their coursework and outcome.

HR 4174 and S 2046 are especially troubling.  Why? Warriors, anytime you see ‘sister bills’ from BOTH Chambers, it means that one way or another the intended purpose will come to fruition. These Bills will increase non census related data mining on EVERY American, not just our students. How can we trust the federal government when it comes to protecting our private data when their track record shows a lack and misuse of data?

You can find all of the other information Jane has put together for you. Five pages of valuable facts and supporting links. Privacy assault letter final Nov 11 10am

Warriors, we do NOT have much time.

What Can We Do?

1) Starting Monday morning, 11/13/17, FLOOD D.C. with phone calls!
Call 202-224-3121 (this is the main Congressional switchboard), ask for your Representative and/or Senator. If you’d rather not call the main switchboard, this link will help direct you to your elected official.
1a) If you do not have time to call, use this link and type in your address. You can send an email directly from there.
2) Use Jane’s information and distribute it to as many Warriors and Warrior-like organizations as you can quickly!

Closing:

Warriors, we must defeat all these Bills. We must increase the pressure on our elected officials in D.C. They are not protecting our children, they, quite frankly are not protecting any of us. It is up to us to strike quickly and repeatedly.

Each of the Bills is a turncoat move to erode our civil rights of freedom and privacy.
They are an assault on our nation.

Can I Get a “Meow”?

Warriors Against Fed Ed, we know that the overreach in education is NOT contained in the K-12th grade levels. We also know it’s not restricted to public education, but spills over into ALL educational choices.
We can thank federal laws for that. The ‘holy trio’ of WIOA, ESSA, and the HEA (Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act of 2014; Every Student Succeeds Act of 2015; Higher Education Act of 2008, and, currently being re-written to become re-authorized.)

I believe Congress is preparing the way for the ‘new’ HEA by creating Bills now which amend the current HEA. Why is the ‘new’ HEA a concern for Fed Ed Warriors? It’s the last ‘link in the chain for a cradle to career streamlined education for workers’.

I’ve written about other Congressional Bills which also are laying the trail to the new and improved HEA. However, there’s a new Bill in town…

Bringing on the Bipartisanship:

S718 (The Making Education Affordable and Accessible Act (MEAA)
**As of this writing, there is no text version of the Bill available from Congress.gov)
**Because the Bill’s acronym is so close to  ‘meow’, I’m using a cat theme for the rest of the article.

Quick facts:
1) There are 4 Senators aponsoring/co-sponsoring this ‘cat-nip’ bill: Franken (MN); Peters (MI); Cassidy (LA), and, Boozman (AR).
2) Because ”bipartisan” can be claimed, so can the ‘litter box’ contents that come with this Bill.

3) Because it helps lay a deceptive ‘mouse trap’ for citizens involved in higher education, we need to watch for the ‘claws’ being used to pull us in.

4) Since the text version of S718 isn’t  available just yet, we can find out much information about it from the Sponsor’s official press release. Senator Peters’ website reveals the following ‘cat treats’:

5) Not only do we have 4 Senators behind this Bill, there are also 2 House of  Representatives involved in this: Polis, CO and Reed, NY. This makes the Bill ‘bicameral’.

**Warriors, this should be a sign that federally led education is NOT a single party creation! Both mainstream parties are extending the overreach. Think of it as the ‘litter box smell’ that can’t be contained.

6) This is not the first time a Bill seeking to make college ‘more affordable and accessible’ has been attempted in recent history. It’s the same ‘mouse trap’, just designed a bit differently.

7) The targeted group for S718? High school students! The ‘stealthy’ Bill will ‘providing grants to eligible institutions of higher learning to create dual and concurrent enrollment and early/middle college programs..’

**Warriors, ESSA’s State required accountability reports must include dual enrolled, concurrent enrolled, and early/middle college programs. It also streamlines ALL education in high schools OR these programs to be aligned to WIOA’s requirements for post-secondary readiness! It also streamlines teachers and their training. Talk about ‘claws’ being dug into our citizens…

8) Sen. Peters’ comments included: “Some form of higher education or technical certification is increasingly essential to joining today’s workforce, and the rising cost of tuition should not be a barrier that keeps students from getting the skills and education they need to succeed,” said Senator Peters. “I’m proud to introduce this bipartisan legislation that helps students save money while getting a head start on their college education. The Making Education Affordable and Accessible Act will help ensure students are well-prepared for their chosen careers and employers have trained workers to fill the jobs of the future.”

9) Sen. Cassidy’s comments included: “In order to bring high-skilled, well-paying jobs with good benefits to Louisiana and our nation, we need a highly capable workforce. This bill provides a next step in training American workers for the jobs of tomorrow.”

10) AR’s Senator: “This legislation creates an affordable opportunity for students to develop real-world skills employers need while pursing higher education. These programs have been beneficial in Arkansas by helping prepare students to enter the workforce as future employees for local businesses,” Senator Boozman said.

11) Sen. Franken’s“Our commonsense, bipartisan bill would help more high school students earn college credits before they pay a dime in tuition—and it could also support professional development opportunities for educators in Minnesota who teach courses in dual enrollment programs. ” (*Note: to see Sen. Franken’s other workforce based education offering, click here.)

12) From CO“Allowing more students to attain college credit while still in high school puts them on a clear track to achieve a college degree and excel in the workforce,” Representative Polis said.

13) From Rep. ReedDual and concurrent enrollment programs offer students quality educational options that will prepare them for meaningful careers. “

14) Look below for the seemingly innocent ‘meows’ from CCSS Machine member groups. Warriors, it’s not innocent. It’s a purposed, planned, and ‘roar-like’ call for conformity!
(*Note: Sen. Peters’ press release has all the CCSS Machine reguritated supportive statements from each of the Groups below.)

Closing:

Warriors, we MUST rein in the federal overreaches! We can no longer act like kittens when it comes to our nation and the aligned direction it is being set to. We must be the tigers and tigresses. If you live in any of the States these Senators and Representatives are from, be encouraged to reach out to them concerning this.

And the ‘Winners’ Are….

Recently, it was announced, here in NC, that 4 math and science teachers were given Presidential honors for their hard work.  President, as in the head of the United States.
In fact, the 4 (2 from 2014 and 2 from 2015), can receive no higher honor in our nation in K-12th grade education when it comes to math and science.

The irony? While the NC Dept. of Public Instruction is tripping over itself about these winners, in a few hours we will know the latest numbers in ‘student success’ here in the State. If the ‘success’ is anything like it has been in the past few years (horrible), no one should be celebrating!

So, What Award?

The award is known as PAEMST, or Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching. The PAEMST program, however, is run by the NSF (National Science Foundation). In case you’ve missed my research on how sold out to the CCSS Machine the NSF, I’ll include some evidence for you in a bit. For now, let’s just say I have a distinct case of mistrust about the NSF. It’s a part of our federal government, but yet it’s not. It gets tons of taxpayer funding and is pushing a global agenda in several areas of concern for us, as a nation. NSF runs the program on the behalf of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy.

In the email I received announcing these 4 esteemed teachers, it included the following,
“In making the announcement, President Obama said, “The recipients of this award are integral to ensuring our students are equipped with critical thinking and problem-solving skills that are vital to our nation’s success. As the United States continues to lead the way in the innovation that is shaping our future, these excellent teachers are preparing students from all corners of the country with the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) skills that help keep us on the cutting-edge.

Our State Superintendent was also featured in the award email, “North Carolina is fortunate to have such exceptional mathematics and science teachers in our public school classrooms. Students who graduate high school with a strong mathematics and science foundation will be well-positioned for the high-demand careers for tomorrow’s economy.

Coming from the lady who is not only our State leader in education, she’s also the President of the CCSSO (Council of Chief State School Officers), I find her words less than meaningful. A huge conflict of interest when it comes to ‘quality education’ in NC, or anywhere else Common Core/STEM touch our citizens.

The 4 teachers will receive $10,000.00* each to spend as they wish, a Presidential citation, and get to go to Washington, D.C. to officially receive their awards.
(*NSF gives the cash awards. NSF is a government entity. The majority of its funding is taxpayer based.  To see the 2016 NSF Budget, http://www.nsf.gov/about/congress/114/highlights/cu16_0104.jsp)

OSTP, Office of Science and Technology Policy:

The website: https://www.whitehouse.gov/administration/eop/ostp

OSTP

This is what I found on the OSTP main page. Scroll down it a bit and you’ll see the President’s 2016 Science Fair, where STEM was everywhere. In my research, where you find STEM, you’ll find CCSS, or as it is called now, College/Career Readiness (CCR). ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act) even calls it ‘challenging state academic standards’.

What else is OSTP up to? Very recently, announcing a new national push for STEM in K-12th grade education AND higher education. Below is a screen shot of the announcement.
Why we need to be raising some red flags:
a) I’ve gone over the 2017 Fed Ed Budget Requests the President has made, I know exactly were all the ties to the CCSS Machine are.
b) ESSA has big bucks set aside for STEM Master Corps and career exploration activities.
c) ESSA has even bigger bucks set aside for digital and technology infrastructure updates, implementations.)
d) The “Computer Science for All” the “100K in 10”, etc. are all programs I’ve researched and shared evidence on how toxically aligned they are to the shift in workforce based education.
e) ESSA also has big bucks set aside for teachers/leaders PD (professional development). The development is for ensuring they are aligned to not only the workforce based education shift, but are grooming students for post-secondary readiness. Regardless of grade or age.

PAESMT Program:

This program’s been around since 1983. The official website is: https://www.paemst.org/
PAESMT is Congress established, and thus, approved. Each year 108 teachers from across our nation are awarded. The U.S. Territories are also included in these awards. If you would like to see more about the Awardshttps://www.paemst.org/about/view

Here’s a short video where you can see how these honored teachers are called out as models for their peers, and leaders for their students. Warriors, any teacher modeling an agenda driven education and/or leading others to one, is no teacher I want to know.

If you wish to find your State’s PAESMT Coordinator,
https://www.paemst.org/coordinator/find_coordinator

NC has 2 Coordinators, one for Math and one for Science.

NSF, National Science Foundation:

Sometime before 2009, Gates Foundation gave the NSF $24 million dollars for agricultural research and development. (See: http://www.gatesfoundation.org/How-We-Work/Quick-Links/Grants-Database/Grants/2008/11/OPP51589)

NSF is the one which created the STEM acronym as a marketing tool based off the PCAST* 2010 Report. I have shared with you countless times how this Report stated that the purpose for STEM wasn’t so much about education, as it was to be about economy (both national and globally), jobs, and a population. As the Report put it, a STEM people for a STEM workforce for a STEM nation. (* PCAST is short for President’s Council of Advisors in Science and Technology)

If you wish to receive more information about my research on any of the topics is this article, please let me know. Make no mistake, STEM is out to align just as much as CCSS is in our schools, communities, and homes. WE MUST FIGHT this overreach. As far as ‘winners’, in the grasp of the CCSS Machine, no one is.

Education Elephants in the Room

elephant
As Anti CCSS Warriors we are used to being told to ignore the ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act) as it will REMOVE CCSS from education.

We are savvy, smart, and well informed Anti CCSS Warriors!
We know the truth..the truth that ESSA in fact does NOT removed Common Core from education, quite the contrary, it will continue the agenda, the plans and the foundations already set in stone, as well as hundreds of other things.

Over the past weeks, I have shared with you an up-close, in-depth look at the ESSA Final Conference Report (which is also the Final version passed into law and signed by the President).

Education Elephants Now Entering:

I have shared with candidates for office just how, when, where, why, and what CCSS ties will continue to be, thanks to the ESSA. Communities have been alerted as to how they will fit in, where new programs will begin, and how they are to be aligned to help every child get ahead.

pigroast
A picture is worth a 1,000 words. Here is what I believe the ESSA really says about America.

Education Elephant #1:
Yet, it is amazing how muted this message seems to be.
Anti CCSS Warriors, we have simply GOT to  stop assuming because we KNOW ESSA is toxic, that others know it. If, by now you haven’t read the ESSA, you should. If we don’t learn all we can NOW, we will have no basis for strategy that is effective. (Read the ESSA in either form: Report or Law. The only difference is the Report is easier to read than the Law. The Report is 1,059 pages; Law is 391 pages, you will just need a magnifying glass.)

Education Elephant #2:
We must ask ourselves are WE making enough noise? Are we helping others who don’t see the toxicity to learn about it? Some citizens across America are buying into the false message of ‘now that ESSA is law, we can relax’!! No, no, and $#%^ no, we can NOT!

Since it has taken me weeks to examine and pull out so much from the ESSA we need to know, I will continue to work on ways to make it more accessible so you, the Anti CCSS Warrior, can have tools to use to help START those conversations with those citizens who need to get involved. I urge you to let me know if there is a way I can better do this. I implore you to continue to look for tools from the others who are also combing through the ESSA

Education Elephants #3-5:
#3: We need a modern day revolution. We need to have patriots who will stop at nothing to stand up for the truth, bat down the wrong, make as much noise as possible to highlight the illegality of all the federally led education alignment. If we allow our distractions to pull us away from our fight  for long periods of time, we will become a less effective Anti CCSS Warrior.

#4: We must continue to learn much, share much, act often, speak loudly-even if our voice shakes.
Consider our nation when it was young. Plainly dressed citizens determined to be free-no matter what hardships they faced are some of our ancestors. Did they give up? Did they get weary in the battles? Did they forge ahead? YES, to all these!! WHY did they do this? Because they knew the truth, they believed the truth, and died for the truth so WE could have the distinction, the honor, and the blessing to Americans. To be free. Education is NOT a civil right, it is not a federal controlled mandate..education, true education is a privilege.

In my opinion, there is little to be scared of in the ‘War Against the Core’, and EVERYONE to be brave for. Is the federally led, P3 rich CCSS Machine nerve wracking, frustrating, and needing to be added to the relics of the past?! ABSOLUTELY!

#5: Warriors, we haven’t time to relax now. States are scrambling to try to dump CCSS, or pass laws to limit it. As per the ESSA, July 1, 2016 is when state funding formulas for Title One will begin! I do not think states can move quickly enough to have anything in place to stop this federal tie to education! It is NOT time for a band-aid fix!

Before we part for today, please see below for my pithy look of the ESSA. You saw the other one above. If you feel these would help make your message about the TRUE ESSA (versus the triumphed “Every Student Succeeds Act”), then use them as a tool. I know, as you do, that WHATEVER ‘it’ takes, is what we are compelled to do to save our nation. Let’s save the elephants for the jungles. Let’s take back our patriot-like mindsets of fighting for freedom today will preserve a nation worth keeping in the future.

School Board Special, Part 4

In my final installment for the anti CCSS School Board Special, I want to thank each and every one who has shared this news with a candidate. Regardless if we know a candidate who is seeking an office on our local school boards, state level education departments, or any other position connected to education, This series is IMPERATIVE! As Anti CCSS Warriors, we MUST also know this information. As you have been able to see, the ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act) is a law filled with overreach into every educational choice, every family’s home, every citizen’s community, and every patriot’s rights.

DACC
We are living statues of liberty and freedom. Our torch? The U.S. Constitution

So, What More Can I Share with the Candidates and Citizens?

For starters, below is a timeline of the most important dates the ESSA will be using. Note, there are other dates NOT listed below. Why? I found this timeline on a Gates Foundation funded/pro CCSS website’s featured page. Source: http://ascd.org/public-policy/Capitol-Connection-Jan-12-2016.aspx

“January 2016*: The (US D of ED) department will identify and invite individuals for a negotiated rulemaking panel to address Title I standards and assessments and the supplement-not-supplant requirements. The panel will comprise federal agency representatives and education stakeholders who will work to reach consensus on what may ultimately become regulations.
February 2016*: The negotiated rulemaking panel will hold its first meeting in Washington, D.C.
March 2016*: The department will draft all proposed regulations and will submit language for regulatory review.
April–May 2016*: The Office of Management and Budget (OMB) and Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs (OIRA) will conduct administrative reviews; these are required by law to ensure alignment of proposed regulatory language with the administration’s policy priorities.
May 2016*: Regulatory language will be submitted to Congress for review, as required by ESSA. The department will make adjustments based on congressional comments.
May–June 2016*: The department will publish the final Notice of Proposed Rulemaking in the Federal Register, allowing 60 days for public comment. Capitol Connection will notify readers when this notice is published.
July–August 2016*: The department will begin reviewing and responding to all comments from the public. Final language must undergo additional reviews by OMB and OIRA.
April–June, 2016*: The department will begin peer review of state assessment systems, as required by ESSA. This step ensures that state assessment systems meet nationally recognized professional and technical standards. Under the reviews, each state will receive feedback from external experts on its current assessments.
July 1, 2016: Formula changes under ESSA take effect (e.g., Title I funding for disadvantaged students and Title II funding for educator supports).
August 1, 2016: NCLB waivers end. States will not be required to deliver follow-up actions previously required under waivers, unless such actions relate to areas covered by ESSA.
October 1, 2016: Changes to competitive grant program funding in ESSA take effect. A program that is no longer authorized in ESSA will get only one more year of funding (subject to appropriations), even if time remains in grants awarded prior to reauthorization.
October 2016*: Final regulations will be published and go into effect.
School Year 2017–2018: All other ESSA provisions will take effect.”

What you as a candidate or a citizen can do: Note the periods of public involvement! Note that Congress will have to respond in their comments to the U.S. Dept. of Ed. This means our voices can be heard–either from our own mouths or those of our Representatives and/or Senators! In other words, we can push back with vigor, with passion, and repeatedly!! Persistence pays off, Anti CCSS Warriors!

You can also refer back to the previous 3 articles to see where these dates (above) will impact your area of most concern. Be it the birth to 5 year olds, the Special Needs, English Language Learners, Native Americans, the 6 year olds to high school graduation, the post-secondary students, local economies, military bases, or those citizens just seeking a job.

Feedback You Need to See:

As part of the final installment, I want to share the feedback this series has gotten. Why? As a candidate, you should hear what the people who vote for you have to say. You need to hear what their hearts are burdened by, as well.
1) From the Facebook Page ‘Common Core Critics’, “Thanks for sharing. Praying this will open up eyes/hearts/minds to the immoral standards and global….propaganda being pushed upon our children/grandchildren.”
2) From the Facebook Page “Stop Common Core in Georgia”, ‘So a new law: ESSA will take place of Common Core and this ESSA is kind of like the ‘no child left behind’ bit from a few years ago…. a new name, same old stuff.’
3) From my personal wall, in response to Part One, “Lengthy but worth it. Thank you for what you do.” In response to Part Two, another comment, “Why should you be fighting against education as it is and the new ESSA that has enshrined the Common Core into education at the start of the school year 2016?”
4) From the Facebook page “Kansas Against Common Core”, their response to Part One, ‘For those of you who think your kids are too young and you don’t have to worry…guess what…you do!’
5) From a voter, “I will be looking for the anti common core candidates.”

6) Here is the first screen shot of the conversation two of my friends struck up. I am sharing their words so you can begin to see and read the frustration.
ToniBeck

Here is the rest of the conversation:
ToniBeck2
Candidates, do you see the pattern? Rubber stamping, being coached! Please, be strong and STAND UP to the CCSS Machine!

7) Lastly, from the “Stop Common Core in Pennsylvania” Facebook page, this screen shot. I am providing it so you can see what a school board fed up with Common Core was able to do!

Candidates, do this mean this school district is through with CCSS? We would need to ask them, however, know that while Resolutions declare our positions against CCSS, we have much proof that the LAWS protecting CCSS, will be what is upheld.

The biggest take away as someone running for office? Do your homework, read all you can between now and your first debate, get the facts! Stand firm in your opposition, too!

Closing:

Thank you, candidates for your bravery and determination.

Weekend News: Collective Workforce

This screen shot is from a brochure for an upcoming conference.
This screen shot is from a brochure for an upcoming conference.

Ahh, another weekend. Time for a brief break from the working world for some of us. However, for those of us against Common Core, we’ve learned our work is still before us. We’ve learned that the WIOA of 2014, Common Core, Career Tech Education, Career Pathways, STEM, and American Apprenticeships are ALL not only part of the CCSS Machine, but part of WIOA as well. (WIOA stands for the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act of 2014)

As I’ve done in the past, I’ll be using NC as the example from which you can use to see what’s up like it in your state.

The NCWorks Initiative:

Based on a plan by the Governor of NC, Pat McCrory, created by a group of state level authorities. Below is only 1 excerpt from the website. To see the rest of the Initiative’s purpose, visit: http://www.nccommerce.com/ncworks

“Governor Pat McCrory has a dedicated plan for workforce success. Throughout this year the Department of Commerce Division of Workforce Solutions, the North Carolina Commission on Workforce Development, the North Carolina Community College System and hundreds of dedicated employees will partner to make NCWorks. The focus is on one goal: connecting North Carolina jobs with North Carolina people through the efficient use of resources, streamlined customer service for citizens and businesses, alignment of programs and a consistent, cohesive strategy all under one name NCWorks.”

Funding for all this ‘one goal’ business? I’m so glad you asked. Look below:

To see the entire flowchart: http://www.nccommerce.com/Portals/0/Documents/Recovery/PRSPCommerce_flowchart_ARRA_Workforce_Discretionar.pdf
To see the entire flowchart:
http://www.nccommerce.com/Portals/0/Documents/Recovery/PRSPCommerce_flowchart_ARRA_Workforce_Discretionar.pdf

That’s right from the 2009 American Recovery and Reinvestment Act! (remember all the ‘shovel ready projects’ that was to bring? Remember all the other nightmares we have now due to the ARRA’s funding?) The flowchart above is from 2010. However, let me point out:
1) this is just the Workforce funding, other funds from the ARRA have been placed in several other related categories. The biggest went to the NC Dept. of Commerce. ‘Oddly’ enough, all the fund reports EXCEPT the Commerce‘s report, are available for you to access. See: http://www.nccommerce.com/research-publications/recovery-programs-funding
So, knowing the Workforce alignment is going on as we speak; knowing we can trace the funding, where should you look in your state for such activities?
1) The Chamber of Commerce(state and local levels)
2) the local workforce development boards, the state workforce development agencies
3) tourism departments and  agriculture commissions
4) economic development boards, offices, or projects (NC has one called “Thrive NC”, chock full of community-workforce-education alignment)
See: http://www.thrivenc.com/whync/education (here you’ll find the NC New Schools (very CCSS aligned) the Gates Foundation, the Career/College Promise (which is the CCSS/CTE bridge I’ve previously written about), you see the SAT and other assessments, you’ll see Smart Start and more)
5) educational partners (especially in the post-secondary institutions) If you’re not sure about which educational partners you’ll need to look into, try the “ThriveNC” document where it’s all laid out: Thrivencreport
6)  any regional or city-to-city partnerships your state has.
These are all the places you’ll find ARRA funds; Workforce education aligned to CCSS and all under the guise of ‘collective communities’.
7) Look into your state laws/statutes. Here in NC, there are several which are in place already and some which will be re-written to further support all this alignment. For example, NC General Statute 150B-21.3A  (adopted in 2013) lays out all the rules for ‘streamlining’ the ‘creation of jobs’ in NC.

Warriors: if we ignore the rules of government on a state and local level which cater to the CCSS Machine, we’re doomed! We must look into our state laws and demand the citizens be heard. You’ve seen the evidence that more folks are against the CCSS than are for it. If we don’t attack the CCSS Machine on all fronts, we’re going to continue to see our nation suffer! CCSS is NOT just for K-12.
8) Below you’ll see the “NC Prosperity Zones”, check to see if your state has a similar zoning map. (This is key to our anti CCSS battle as much of the re-authorization efforts for the ESEA 1965 (Elementary and Secondary Education Act) via HR5 (Student Success Act), S1177 (Every Child Achieves Act) and the HEA (Higher Education Act), ALL have ‘poverty’; ‘less fortunate’; or ‘disadvantaged youth’ included in the language of these bills in several places.)

Set up for the 'haves' and 'have nots'?! Could this be another kind of segregation our nation is gearing up for?! Think about it.
Set up for the ‘haves’ and ‘have nots’?! Could this be another kind of segregation our nation is gearing up for?! Think about it.

So, Where’s the CCSS, CTE? I Don’t See Them:

Up to this point, you’ve not seen anything in documented proof which states the Career Tech Education (or any of its other names) or CCSS is specifically tied to the WIOA, NCWorks, or the ARRA funds. So, where are the CTE/CCSS/Career Pathways, etc. hiding?
Look into this set of slides from the NCWorks Career Pathways Conference: NCWorks Pathways Conference Slides_MB
When you look into it, be sure to note that the “NC Prosperity Zone Map” is also included.

Another place you need to look in your state: The current WIOA funds awarded to each state for ‘job creation’
1)  the businesses receiving funding to help in the job creation/education ‘marriage’.
2) WIOA funds are being treated much  like the Race to the Top funding, in that states can apply for funds to streamline education/workforce, jump through several hoops, have to supply certain amounts of data of every participant, and help the CCSS/CTE agenda along at the same time. Below is a screen shot of the application’s portion for data collection/mining:

Want more Career Pathways proof? Here’s a document which gave NC $5.25 million for Career Pathways for the disadvantaged: https://www.nccommerce.com/LinkClick.aspx?fileticket=Pv4HMQ0y8Gs%3d&tabid=3697&mid=8957
The ‘catch’ for any disadvantaged participant? They MUST have a Career Readiness Certificate. (CRCs are CCSS/CTE aligned) You can find the CRC requirement on pages 3 and 4 of the above document. Oh, by the way, NC will award business for their participation in these programs. The CP for disadvantaged comes with a $150,000.00 ‘incentive’!

Monday Musings: Fightin’ Mamas

Not just the NC moms, but USA moms battle CCSS daily.
Not just the NC moms, but USA moms battle CCSS daily.

For this first Monday of October 2015, I am giving a shout out to anti CCSS warrior moms nationwide. I have a special spot for the Moms and grandmamas throughout NC. I have had the honor of standing with them, helping them, and most importantly, joining them in their disdain for all things connected to the CCSS Machine. Before I share with you what NC fightin’ mamas have done, check out these fightin’ mad moms from other states.

Well Stated:

Here’s a quote from my dear friend, Rachel. She lives in NY. She runs a business, manages a huge anti CC group on Facebook, and thinks nothing of being a booming voice against the anti-Americanism going on in the classrooms.

“My hubby tells me that I am angry a lot and my best friend tells me that I am “not the same person I was four years ago”. I told them that Common Core has made me the person I am today. I HATE COMMON CORE and what is being done to our children.
I LOVE OUR NATION AND OUR CHILDREN. So does God. I pray like I do every morning…. “Please God, give us the miracle needed to rid our children of Common Core”, amen.”

If you’d like Rachel’s attitude, check out her group, ‘Choose to Refuse Common Core’ (see: https://www.facebook.com/groups/CHOOSETOREFUSECOMMONCORE/)

If you are new to fighting CCSS, you may not know about one of the first anti CCSS Facebook pages I joined. Called ‘Moms Against Duncan (MAD)’. The 5 leaders of this dedicated group are all fantastic anti CC warriors I trust without a doubt. Together, they are a force like a tidal wave. Here’s a quote by Teri, one of my favorite GA moms, “The front line in the battle to Stop Common Core is in the STATES! Congress, State Legislatures and Parents were by-passed in the hurried adoption process!” Check out the MAD moms and dads. (see: https://www.facebook.com/groups/MomsAgainstDuncan/)

These are just two of the many ‘moms’ groups warring against the Core…

NC Fightin’ Mamas:

My fellow NC moms are quite something. They have been faithful in attending hearings, meetings, and standing up to school officials. They have demanded justice. They have produced evidence of data mining, inappropriate lessons, and been forthright in their disgust of the state leaders who have knowingly embedded every aspect of the CCSS Machine into our preK through 12th; post-secondary, and workforce areas. These moms, many of whom I have met, don’t hesitate to tell it like it is.

However long it is determined for me to be a resident of NC, I will carry on being deliberate in this mission to wagw war against the CCSS Machine.

Your Moms:

We know many mamas and grandmamas like our NC moms. If we don’t have Warriors like these, we are doomed. We need MORE moms, mamas, dads, papas; citizens of all kinds! Know a dedicated anti CC person or group? Let me know! It’s always a great day to meet new folks/groups fed up with the illegally based education reform! Let’s all become ‘patriots’ for our students. (fyi: did you know there’s a Facebook group named “Patriots Against Common Core”? See: https://www.facebook.com/groups/AMERICANSAGAINSTCOMMONCORE/)

One of my most distinct messages I've created to express my ire toward the CCSS Machine.

FTF: Visual Special for the Anti CCSS Machine Warriors!

Greetings my fellow Warriors against the CCSS Machine. By now you know I am 100% opposed to the Common Core, the Career Technical Education arm of the Common Core, the College and Career Readiness arm of the Common Core, and every OTHER connected entity of the CCSS Machine.  Today’s “From the File” Tuesday article is a special visual edition. Why? Congress is back in session..which means votes could come ANYTIME between now and the next break (or, votes could come after the first of the year). Regardless of WHEN the votes happen, the fact is that BOTH the HR5 and the S1177 will be among those bills voted upon!

Since our time is NOW to let our voices be heard, we must use EVERY available means possible. Call the legislators who represent you. Write the legislators who speak for you. Use social media as a tool to send a visual message that speaks to your legislators! Below are suggestions of appropriate visuals you can use (complete with captions). Use what you choose, customize the captions or create memes from them, I really don’t care..just use them to send a message your legislator won’t soon forget about HOW important it is to KILL the HR5 and theS1177!

Here’s one to address the constant assessments:

I do not support the over assessing of students and their teachers via the Common Core aligned tests; the Career Path assessments; or the data mining included. STOP HR5 and S1177.
I do not support the over assessing of students and their teachers via the Common Core aligned tests; the Career Path assessments; or the data mining included. STOP HR5 and S1177.

Here’s one sure to wake up a Congress member. If they value their jobs, they need to know this truth!

Support our Constitutionally created government! Vote NO to the re-authorization of the ESEA! Stop HR5, S1177.
Support our Constitutionally created government! Vote NO to the re-authorization of the ESEA! Stop HR5, S1177.

Here’s one to show your legislators that ANY human is NOT ‘capital’. CCSS, CTE, and all that’s connected reduce ALL citizens to this debased capacity. We MUST speak up!

How the Initiative behind all that Common Core encompasses SEES your students like this.
How the Initiative behind all that Common Core encompasses SEES your students.

Here’s a ‘classic’ of mine. I found these lapel pins on Zazzle. I’ve worn mine to every event I can where education is discussed. Quite effective all by itself.

In spite of all the fallacies of the CCSS Machine when it comes to 'returning local control' and 'ending CCSS', one FACT remains!
In spite of all the fallacies of the CCSS Machine when it comes to ‘returning local control’ and ‘ending CCSS’, one FACT remains!

Below is one of the latest visuals I’ve used to help raise awareness of how vital keeping our students away from the CCSS Machine it is.

Congress, I want MORE than just a shell of who my students used to be. STOP the HR5 and S1177 emotional abuse!
Congress, I want MORE than just a shell of who my students used to be. STOP the HR5 and S1177 emotional abuse!

Here’s an ‘oldie but goldie’ that’s been on the Internet for quite a while. It’s still very powerful.

Corporations tied to CCSS do NOT represent the people's voice. Stop HR5 and S1177.
Corporations tied to CCSS do NOT represent the people’s voice. Stop HR5 and S1177!

Here’a s visual which is used by the pro CCSS side to suggest how much ‘choice’ there is in an aligned educational system.

Education via HR5, S1177, and the post secondary CCSS/CTE is NO CHOICE for America!
Education via HR5, S1177, and the post secondary CCSS/CTE is NO CHOICE for America!

Below, is an appropriate visual. Why? The U.S. Gov’t created this to show us how great competency based education (that’s stackable and will follow the student wherever they go in life) can be. We can use it to show them our students are MORE than ‘chunks’!

My student is MORE than a 'stackable' chunk of credits. HALT the CTE embedding in my child's education!
My student is MORE than a ‘stackable’ chunk of credits. HALT the CTE embedding in my child’s education!

The CCSS Machine disrespects special needs students and teachers 100%!

Encompassing a 'one size fits all' education is one of the biggest disabilities served to our special needs students.
Encompassing a ‘one size fits all’ education is one of the biggest disabilities served to our special needs students.

Regardless of where your student’s K-12 years were spent, with the enacted HR5, S1177, and the upcoming re-authorized HEA (Higher Education Act), ALL students will enter the TSP  (Talent Supply Pipeline).

Common Core's famous for stating it can have our students 'college ready', now it claims 'career ready', too.
Common Core’s famous for stating it can have our students ‘college ready’, now it claims ‘career ready’, too.

Much evidence has been produced to show exactly how private, faith-based, and home educational choices are ALREADY being aligned to the CCSS Machine. STOP the indoctrination, anti CC Warriors!

CommonCore-Equal-Fail
Lastly, Anti CC Warriors, let’s let Congress know we DON’T want our communities CCSS/CTE/CCR aligned!

An aligned collective community?! Is this really what CCSSO has begun? Common Core is entrenched in this, folks.

Warriors, be sure to join me tomorrow, on the radio or national phone calls I am honored to be a part of each week. In the mornings, Negdog Radio (a blogtalk station), 347-843-4165. Time of broadcast is usually 9:30 am (Eastern Time). Then, in the evenings, I join thte Women on the Wall national phone call (302-202-1110, code 702165). That call begins at 8:30 pm (Central Time).
