“The Prudence Files: Part Five”

Anti Fed Ed Warriors, we’ve made it! The final installment of my “The Prudence Files” series. Before we go on, I want to pause and thank those who’ve sent information, especially for Part Four. I want to thank each of you for coming back to find out the real truths not being given via mainstream media, too.

In this article, the last 2 Presidential hopefuls; private citizens. Howard Schultz (Former Starbucks CEO ) and Andrew Yang (Venture for America). Will either of these 2 offer We the People a glimmer of hope, as far as education? Let’s see what we can find out.

Schultz’s Bid:
Warriors
, while some sites say Mr. Schultz is considering running, the original source I used in Part One is where I learned he was. I did find his campaign website, so I’m pretty sure that’s a ‘winner’. Below is a picture of the website:

Schultz

Schultz is running as a ‘Centrist Independent’ candidate. In his words that means ‘governing from the middle’. According to the Centrist Party, these citizens and/or candidates have no party lines. As such rather than go with what’s popular, they go by what is right. Below is their stance on education.

centrist

Warriors
, it’s very important for me to say that Mr. Schultz is NOT the Centrist Party’s candidate. However, I wanted you to see how the Party leans. By contrast, the American Independent Party is completely different. They believe in the Judea-Christian values of our Founding Fathers (Schultz is Jewish). They also believe in States Rights for education. Again, Mr. Schultz is NOT the Independent Party’s candidate either.

So, I think it’s safe to say this ‘Centrist Independent’ COULD be a mix of the two principles. But, we also have to factor in Mr. Schultz has been a Democrat for many years.

I think you’ll understand why I wanted you to have some context before I show you what I found about Schultz’s education stance.

Where was his education stance ‘hiding’? It wasn’t in his pillars. No, it can be found in the “Howard’s Story” page on the website. I’ll admit the video has a catchy tune, there are bright colors and smiling faces. It’s all designed to ‘build you up’.

starbucks

Warriors, if you didn’t know it, ASU has been involved with some pretty horrid things for K-12th grade education. Back in 2016, I wrote about their part in a YouTube Red Channel movie called “The Thinning”. It was all about students literally dying or someone they loved die if a certain score wasn’t made on the standardized test.

If you didn’t see it, I also wrote about Starbucks and the PBIS system.

Finally, on this candidate, I’ll share this with you:

starcc
If you’d like to see the rest of the stances Starbucks takes on other ‘hot button’ issues, visit here.

Mr. Yang:

Warriors, if you’ve not heard of Venture for America, that’s ok. I’ll be sure to link the evidence for you.

To access the 2016 Annual Report, go here.
Warriors, if you use Netflix and have seen “Generation Startup” that’s the feature film about what VFA does. Jobs/economic for the community’s sake. While that’s good, the tag line for the movie has to do with ‘learning to fail’. That’s a key concept the CCSS Machine loves to use. By the way, Netflix is among the CCSS Machine members/groups seeking to destroy local control.

So, you know a bit about the company Yang founded. Let’s look at his 2020 Presidential campaign.

yang
To see all his policies/issues, visit this page.

Warriors, if you read “Andrew’s Story”, he’ll tell you he was raised to go after the American Dream. You’ll learn his ties to Brown Univ. as well as Columbia Univ. (Both universities are CCSS Machine member organizations. In Part 4, I shared both their ties to the Tavistock Inst.)

You’ll also see he tells you he had an education company, but doesn’t share the name or what other group(s) bought him out. Look below:

You may find this related article helpful in connecting Yang’s for profit testing company to Knewton.

Warriors, I hope you see the toxic ties to the CCSS Machine very clearly. It appears neither of these is the Anti Fed Ed champ we need.

Warrior/Citizen Actions:

Well, Warriors, we’ve done it, taken 5 articles to lay out education/educratic stances of the 20 candidates (and possible candidates) running for President in 2020. As you know the campaigns are on-going. As you know, they will only step up in appearances.

So, what DO we do with all the information I’ve given you? Yes, it’s been grueling to slog through all their websites (or lack of), but the reason I wanted to do this for the nation, especially you, my fellow Warriors, is we HAVE to make as much noise as possible!

I told you in Part One I wouldn’t tell you whom to vote for. However, whomever you see you most like among the 20, do this:

1) Attend as many meetings of his or hers as possible. Forget party allegiance, the politicians certainly have. Is this risky? Absolutely, BUT, gladly risk your comfort zone for the children, I am. So can you. Don’t develop tunnel vision, watch for debates, shows, etc. Listen to what’s said (or not said).
2) We all know in war (War Vs the Core) you have to hang out with the enemy from time to time. Just be prudent and don’t go alone. Whatever you do, be respectful, there is going to be enough strife. If you are rude in making your points, you’ll be discounted. Remember, these are people, not punching bags (words or fists).
3) Take the points about the candidates which trouble you the most and speak out! Steer the conversation, don’t give up! (Written ones are the best and provide a copy with facts and links to point to Anti Fed Ed truths.)
4) Write open letters, letters to the editor, call in to like minded radio shows, no matter how big or small. Request private media shows centered around these Anti Fed Ed truths the nation needs to know and hear. Make your own video and share.
5) Speak up, hold them accountable! That is part of a prudent voter/Warrior’s ‘job’.
6) Write to them, show them the roots to the agenda, the globalization of our nation via education, let them know, it’s unconstitutional, it’s criminal and they shouldn’t be a part of it!
7) Don’t kowtow or get star struck by these candidates, don’t worry about making a scene. Remember who you are fighting for: our kids, our young people, our freedoms, our choices.
8) Pepper their websites with Anti Fed Ed truth, not mainstream subjective BS.
9) Participate in citizen forums, round-table discussions. If you didn’t know what you know now, think about all those around you who will remain clueless, unless you speak up. Use your circle of influence. Stay in communication. Host ‘Did Ya Know?’ type neighborhood events. While we’re about serious business, we can have some fun, too.
Use this type of event to bring to light the candidates on education. Compare notes and discuss maturely.

(Think along the lines of “Horton Hears a Who”, ALL our voices, united against the CCSS Machine is imperative!)

hortonhears(photo courtesy of Clipart)

What if you don’t like any of the 20 candidates?
1) Choose the one most closely related to your beliefs and WORK with them to bring them around to the truth.
2) These people MUST be reminded they are seeking to represent WE the People, not the special interests groups, lobbyists, or Big Corporations.
3) If the candidate isn’t willing to work with you or accept the truth, then you know they are ‘bought and paid for’ by the CCSS Machine and move on.
4) IF you find that out, share the news, so others will know. It’s better to be called an idiot for being right than a silent partner in the grinding down of American education.
5) Apply any of the other action steps above you desire.
6) Inform and ‘use’ your circle of influence. Provide updates for them.

Upcoming Election Resources:

demdebate
(Source)

As of this article, I can find no Republican Debate schedule. Back in 2018, the National Republican Committee voted to disband the Debate organizers and team. That doesn’t mean there may be no debates, but it means we need to be watching for them.

I did find this website, which has both the Ds and Rs information in one location. Use at your discretion.

Use the Commission on Presidential Debates for news updates. I’ve embedded the link to their Debate Applicant locations. (*Note: no 2019 or 2020 sponsors have been announced, but look at previous sponsors. Are there CCSS Machine member groups represented? If so urge a non-bias organization to step up.) You can also access previous Debate transcripts. These might be helpful in writing your letters.

The location for the Republican National Convention is Charlotte, NC.
The location for the Democratic National Convention is Milwaukee, WI.
(*Note: Are there any Warriors near either of these cities? If so, we should plan to meet somewhere. I live in NC, and, it just so happens not too far from Charlotte. I’d love to see a group near Milwaukee, too. We could do live presentations or updates.)

The Democrats will conduct their Convention in July 2020.
The Republicans will conduct theirs in August 2020.

Operation Alignment

Anti Fed Ed Warriors, it’s my final article of the recent series I have published looking at the 116th Congress’s educractic BS.

In today’s article, a look at S 5 (Education Opportunities Act) and HR 425 (Supporting Veterans in STEM Careers Act).

S 5 is sponsored by Sen. Rubio (FL) and is 15 pages long. There are no co-sponsors. Currently, S 5 is in the Senate Finance Committee.
HR 425 is sponsored by Rep. Dr. Dunn (FL), there is one co-sponsor, Rep. Lamb (PA)

Warriors, we know Sen. Rubio is an educrat. My articles on his alliance with the CCSS Machine are here. Sen. Rubio’s current committees list. Recent campaign backing for the Senator included Goldman Sachs and Bank of America. Two huge CCSS Machine member organizations.

Rep. Dr. Dunn’s issues do not include education, but he does list veterans. Rep. Dr. Dunn is on the Veterans Affairs Committee and the Committee for Science, Space, and Technology. Rep. Lamb lists education and veterans as two of his issues. Rep. Lamb is the Vice Chair of the Veterans Affairs Committee. He is on the Science, Space, and Tech Committee, too.
Rep. Lamb’s recent campaign donors include the NEA (National Education Assoc.) and at least 3 universities tied to the CCSS Machine.

What S 5 Says/Does:

Here’s the link to the Bill. It’s called the Educational Opportunities Act.
1) S 5 will amend the IRS Code. The purpose is to allow tax credits for elementary and secondary tuition.

s5.jpg

2) Eligible ‘scholarship granting organizations’ are defined by Section 501 (C3) and 501 (A) of the IRS Code. This means that the organization is tax exempt and that it’s only purpose is to provide scholarships to eligible students.

3) Eligible students are defined as person enrolled in a school defined in the IRS Code Section 530 (b3B) and Section 4(B) as well as below the U.S. Dept. of Health and Human Services’ poverty line.

4) Eligible schools are ones which charge tuition, comply with all State laws and agree to annual reports.  Part of the data collected will be off the nationally normed, State aligned tests and assessments. Page 8 does say no personal identifiable data will be shared, but Warriors, how many times have we been sold that lie? Consider, also, with the recent passage of FEPA, the IRS’s data will now be up for grabs by data trackers.
The scholarships given cannot go to pay for anything at a school or in a school system in public education.

5) Reports and data will be fed to the U.S. Dept. of Education’s Institute of Education Science, (IES). IES, is a huge CCSS Machine member organization which shares student data freely. In 2016, I showed you how ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act) would have IES  pop up in homeschooling data mining. Also from 2016, how IES is woven throughout more than we thought.

6) Corporations will also be included in the tax credits. The credits cannot exceed $100,000.00.

When I first shared this graphic, I was describing K-12 students. Our veterans certainly do NOT deserve to pushed through a pipeline, either!

HR 425, Supporting Veterans in STEM Careers Act:

Warriors, here’s the link to this Bill.

stemvets
1) HR 425 puts the NSF (National Science Foundation) as the directing entity for the veterans program. The program? It’s a veteran outreach plan. Warriors, I’ve shown you before, many times, how the NSF is tied to the United Nations.

I can think of no greater insult to our veterans that to assimilate them into a global minion. That’s so anti-American.

2) Look at how the NSF will manipulate us and data track our vets:

hr425.jpg
3) Any research and/or leverage used for the veterans plan will be based off the NSF’s Report called the “National Science Board Indicators”. This will be totally subjective, not objective. It’s also going to be geared toward the global workforce. Here’s the 2018 Report.

4) HR 425 updates the Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarship to include veterans. This scholarship is expressly for STEM teachers and has been made into a public law (2002).
If you are not familiar with the name Robert Noyce, that’s okay. Maybe you recognize his contribution to the computer, called Intel. I’ve written about the Robert Noyce Foundation before.

5) Also amended is the NSF Act of 2002 concerning the Teaching Fellows and Masters Program.

6) The NSF’s Computer and Network Security and Capacity Building Grants will also be updated to include vets.

7) A new government interagency will be established with HR 425. It’s to be called the
“Veterans and Military Families STEM Education Interagency Working Group”. This group will use federal resources to transition veterans and military spouses into STEM careers.
This interagency will close after 5 years after this Bill becomes law, should it.

Connected to this is the Office of Science and Technology Policy’s Director making sure all STEM strategies in HR 425 are carried out. The Director is also known as the “President’s Science Advisor”.

Many have argued that President Trump is dedicated to getting all parts of the US out of the UN, but I ask you to consider how when he wholeheartedly supports STEM.

Related:

HR 627, is also STEM legislation which broadens the NSF in all education.
STEM connects to Smart Cities, also a part of the UN’s agenda.
ESSA upped the CCSS/STEM ante to gel with the UN’s SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals).
The power shift in DC didn’t end the educratic BS we’ve grown so accustom to seeing. Review or discover how deep the STEM ‘love’ goes in DC.

Closing:

Warriors, I hope this series has helped spur you on to keep fighting to save our nation, as well as our schools. Will the 116th Congress continue to pump out harmful legislation? Absolutely. Will I keep you updated? You know I will.
I’ll be back on the blazing trail next week.
In the meantime, share the Series with your leaders and concerned citizens.

Something Wicked Brewing

No, I don’t mean the latest hurricane or tropical storm. I’m not referring to the Halloween season. I’m referring to the constant push to ruin not only our educational system, but America itself.

Anti CCSS Warriors, I know you are being bombarded with all sorts of things right now. But, let’s remember that some of the worst moves made by the CCSS Machine, have been made while our heads have been turned.

Example #1:
The recent “I Just Sued the School System” video. I’ve had plenty of folks send this to me and say something like ‘that’s a great idea’. That’s where the CCSS Machine wants us to look, however, LOOK behind the video (if you haven’t already).

sueschool
If you’ve not seen the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dqTTojTija8
While the famous rapper (Prince Ea) gripes about one size fits all education, he also brings up PBLs (project based learning), charter schools, and other CCSS Machine alternatives which are clearly NOT alternatives!

While the rapper does list John Taylor Gatto as a inspiration, he also cites Ken Robinson (as in Sir Ken Robinson, a global education fan) as well as the Khan behind Khan Academy who was personally paid by Bill Gates to align his educational resources to the CCSS Machine.
As far as Susan Blum, I have no idea, but knowing she wrote about higher education, I’d say an in-depth look is in order.
My point: Most folks stop looking when they heard ‘sue’, the phrases about being fed up and then seeing John T. Gatto’s name. What’s been missed is HUGE, if that’s where we stop.

If you’d like to see the website of the company behind the video: https://www.neste.com/fi/en/corporate-info/who-we-are/mission-and-vision-0

I encourage you to really look at their website. This is an global oil company with a definite agenda. Why? They are hoping the Prince Ea video reaches at least 2 million ‘likes’. There are plenty of other agenda items as well.

Example #2:

This one’s also on YouTube right now, but is a preview. I do not suggest you watch it with your children. Called “The Thinning” it’s supposedly a ‘what-if-this-could-happen’ type of movie. The plot is population control via student assessments. Basically, you pass the high-stakes test, you get to live; you do not score well or fail the test, you are escorted immediately to a death chamber. Of course the setting is a post-apocalyptic one, but LISTEN to the words in the trailer.

This movie comes out in its full form, 10/12/16. The company behind it is Legendary Digital. Legendary is funded by some pretty big CCSS Machine member organizations. Who holds the financial debt? Bank of America, a huge supporter of education-for-one-size-fits-all-global-citizen-workforce-educated. Other investors include: Goldman Sachs and Accel Partners (venture capitalist group/also funds Facebook). To see all the Legendary Digital investors, use the second link in the screen shot. As always, to see the picture better, click on it.

thinlegend

While the ‘look here while we do this’ isn’t as thinly veiled as the “Sued” video, we MUST look at what is behind this movie.

To see what else Accel Partners fund: http://www.accel.com/companies/
(*Note: look for ‘Dropbox’..then think data mining.)

Example #3:

Early yesterday, I spied this tweet sent out by notorious CCSS Machine member, McGraw Hill Publishing. They are SO grateful for educators they will award $50,000. What really ticked me off, was the ‘iconic sculpture’

mcghbribe

Well, Warriors, we KNOW that McGraw Hill isn’t hiding anything in plain sight as far as aligned education, BUT is there more? Yes! I believe so. You see the money and statue are being used to sway folks. McGraw Hill, will, create another false narrative as to the ‘success’ of CCSS.

Hiding behind the Prize? Arizona State University! This higher education institution is also a notorious CCSS Machine member organization. The trail grows, though. Because I also found the ASU/GSV Summit is behind the Prize.

Monday Musings: More than Meets the Eye

armchair
You won’t believe what I saw this weekend!

If you are fighting the data collection that accompanies the CCSS Machine’s overreach into our educational systems, its leaders, its students, then you will want to be sure to reach today’s “Monday Musings”.

As you may know (or maybe you didn’t know), I am a huge college football fan. As such, I try to take a little time off each Saturday afternoon to watch the games. On Saturday, Dec. 5th, I was doing just that when I noticed this one commercial from Microsoft appear. It didn’t appear just one or two times, it appeared several times (sorry, I didn’t get an exact count). At first, I basically ignored the commercial (after all, it is over 1 minute long). However, I began to notice the rhetoric in the advertisement was causing the anti CCSS Warrior in me to say, “Wait, what did that ad just reveal?”. I am including the ad below from You Tube, so you can watch it before we dive into the rest of this article.

Go back and listen for how many athletes are tracked data wise, listen again for what information about those athletes is tracked. If you didn’t catch it, these special needs kids’ health (which includes every aspect of their health) is not only being data mined/tracked, it is being used as part of their progress! Did you catch how the Microsoft Cloud can even look at their past performances?!

While Microsoft is supplying the data mining tool, did you notice it was the Special Olympics CEO who was speaking about the data tracking? Did you notice the ‘global’ vent in which she was speaking? If you would like to see the global agenda behind SO (Special Olympics), see:
http://www.specialolympics.org/uploadedFiles/Fact%20Sheet_SOI%20General%20Overview.pdf

SO and CCSS in the Schools:

Don’t get me wrong, I am not out to vilify SO. Rather, my point is to show you the ties back to CCSS, SO is participating in. For example, the SO school program “Get Into It” is funded by the U.S. Dept. of Education!
See (https://getintoit.specialolympics.org/) While you cannot access the lessons unless you are a registered member, the fine print tells you the school program fits state standards. Another school specific program SO has is called “Project Unify”, check out the pro CCSS groups tapped as the partners, “Partnerships with education organizations such as the NEA Foundation, The State Education Agency K-12 Service-Learning Network (SEANet), the American Association of School Administrators (AASA), National School Boards Association (NSBA), The National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP), the National Dropout Prevention Center (NDPC),the IDEA Partnership and many others.” (Source: http://www.specialolympics.org/uploadedFiles/Sections/What_We_Do/Project_Unify/Project%20UNIFY%20Toolkit.pdf)

Project Unify’s 2010 Case Study is another document you can easily find pro CCSS ties in. Be sure to see all 200 plus pages of this Study. You will learn much more about the SO’s support of the re-authorization of the ESEA (Elementary and Secondary Act) See the screen shot below:
SO21
Source: http://www.specialolympics.org/uploadedFiles/Sections/What_We_Do/Project_Unify/Project%20UNIFY%20Toolkit.pdf

SO and CCSS Outside the Classroom:

Among SO‘s sponsors is the AFT (American Federation of Teachers) who have shown their CCSS love all to well. Notice, also that a national organization representing school counselors is also a sponsor. What’s so CCSS friendly about school counselors? In case you missed my very special article detailing a White House led program to align all school counselors to CCSS, here it is:
https://commoncorediva.wordpress.com/2014/10/10/fridays-post-breaking-news-you-need-to-know/

As far as those pro CCSS organizations who partner with SO, you will find Bank of America, Unicef, Microsoft and others. To find them all, http://www.specialolympics.org/faqs.aspx (*Note, the Partners will be all the way down at the bottom of the page and you will need to click on the right hand arrow to see all of the partners.)

CCSS and Sports:

Sometime last year I wrote this CCSS Physical Education article. In I reveal for you just how much of our school’s PE programs are crossing over to the CCSS way of education. See: http://preventcommoncore.com/?p=1080

Gates Foundation and the Kennedy Foundation:

As you may, or may not know, Eunice Kennedy Shriver was a key person in the history of SO. However, since her passing did you know the Foundation which bears her name has received Gates Foundation grants for the purpose of human scientific research? What does this have to do with the Microsoft Cloud commercial?
Let’s see if there is a connection.
First, consider that the Gates Foundation’s 2009 grant to the Shriver Foundation was for biomarkers to assess micronutrient exposure, status, and function/effect’ (see: http://www.gatesfoundation.org/How-We-Work/Quick-Links/Grants-Database/Grants/2009/09/OPP1003253)
While this may (or may not) in fact have been some of the ground work needed to help the Microsoft Cloud collect the type of human data featured in the commercial, I cannot prove beyond the shadow of a doubt.

However,  it is very important to note here that Mrs. Shriver’s Foundation is a part of the NIH (National Institutes of Health) and that the NIH is part of the U.S. Dept. of Health and Human Services, the 3rd federal department helping the nation’s alignment to CCSS/CTE (Common Core State Standards and Career Tech Education). The others? The U.S. Dept. of Education and the U.S. Dept. of Labor!  What is very interesting is when I did a general term search on the NIH for “Common Core Standards”, I was led to a document where NIH‘s data mining, sharing, and “biobanking” are laid out. Access the document, pmi-working-group-report-20150917-2
What is ‘biobanking’? It refers to banks where human tissue samples, their DNA, and other such personal items are stored. While I was able to find a University of Helsinki/Microsoft Cloud agreement where it was stated that non public bio banking and genome data was not to be shared, it did NOT appear to prohibit public bio banks! See the screen shot below:
helsinkimicro
See the entire agreement: http://www.helsinki.fi/atk/tike/liitetiedostot/Office365_EULA_en.pdf

Closing:

Anti CCSS Warriors, please note that all the above information is given to help point out some of the sheer audaciousness the pro CCSS education reform agenda is becoming. It isn’t the first time we will see a wolf in sheep’s clothing ad, nor, will it be the last. However, if we don’t stop, take notice, and then, share information connected, we will be no more helpful than a screen door on a submarine! We must be diligent, even in our ‘down time’. Please, if you have more information about data mining, biobanking, how invasive the Cloud (no matter if it is Microsoft’s, Apple’s or some other company) is with regard to human information, or other connections which we can use to help shine the light; share what you know! We, as anti CCSS Warriors need every bit of teamwork we can muster.

As anti CCSS Warriors, we’ve heard of educational research on the K-12 level, the higher education level, but did you know there’s an educational research group for those in pre-kindergarten? I first wrote about the National Institute for Early Education Research and their Zero to Three involvement:
https://commoncorediva.wordpress.com/tag/national-institute-for-early-education-research/
While that article will name the same groups below, this time I’m taking a much closer look at each of the lesser known groups involvement into CCSS aligned preschool. What is interesting, is the NIEER is housed in Rutgers University.

NIEER’s Mission:

From the website’s ‘mission statement’, The National Institute for Early Education Research (NIEER) conducts and communicates research to support high-quality, effective early childhood education for all young children. Such education enhances their physical, cognitive, and social development, and subsequent success in school and later life.”

As part of the Vision/MIssion of NIEER
NIEER also leads the Center on Enhancing Early Learning Outcomes (CEELO), one of 22 comprehensive centers funded by the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Elementary and Secondary Education to strengthen the capacity of State Education Agencies to lead sustained improvements in early learning opportunities and outcomes.”

Before we get to HOW the NIEER influences early education, I think you might be interested in what groups fund the National Institute for Early Education Research.

From the website the following pro CCSS groups fund the research. Most of these are well known supporters. The ones you may not recognize have links you can follow to learn more:
U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Educational Research and Improvement (OERI)
The Pew Charitable Trusts
Carnegie Corporation of New York
Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation (CCSS/STEM ties can be proven by the Foundation’s paper: http://www.grdodge.org/fileadmin/Dodge_News/Dodge_Foundation_June_2013_Grants_Announcement.pdf {refer to the education paragraph}
The David and Lucile Packard Foundation
The Prudential Foundation {see my article from “Prevent Common Core”:
http://preventcommoncore.com/?p=1154 {Prudential’s CCSS ties will be revealed second in the article}

Other funders are below. Are the ‘other funders’ pro CCSS? Great question. Let’s find out!

The Fund for New Jersey, see their 4/2015 pdf document’s section 3 which details NJ education: NJKids (one of the key components? Extended preK to full day classes)
You can also find the Fund for NJ has granted the Education Law Center money to further strengthen public schools and extend preschools to full days. Find that evidence:
http://www.fundfornj.org/grants-awarded/2015 (The Ed Law Center grant is the 2nd one from the top. There are many other education grants as well which are classified by the organization’s name. To see their CCSS support, use the link: http://www.edlawcenter.org/search-results.html; you can see much about not only preschool expansion, but other education levels as well.) Before we leave the Fund for NJ and its grantee, the Ed Law Center, you might find it interesting that one of the Ed Law Center’s initiatives is for the “Great Schools of NJ”. If you didn’t know it, “Great Schools” is very much CCSS aligned/funded. How do I know? After all the “Great Schools of NJ” is a non-profit organization. The Gates Foundation has funded ‘greatschools.org’ for quite a while. You can find that evidence on both the links below:
http://www.greatschools.org/  and http://www.gatesfoundation.org/How-We-Work/Quick-Links/Grants-Database#q/k=Great%20Schools

The Schumann Fund for New Jersey, before we delve into their ties, I wanted you to see the screen shot below. The latest grant is to an early education program named “Brick”.
“Brick” stands for “Building Responsible Intelligent Creative Kids”.

Grants for Early Education can be found: http://foundationcenter.org/grantmaker/schumann/early_childhood.html
Grants for Early Education can be found:

Want to learn more about “Brick”? After all it’s targeting early learners. Be sure to visit:
http://bricknewark.org/curriculum-and-instruction/ (look at the formative assessments, the digital technology that’s been tied to CCSS before)
There are other grants this Foundation you’ll want to investigate. As well. Especially their support of the ‘Grantmakers for Education’ which is tied to  the Fordham Institute, as well as others. To see for yourselves, visit:  http://www.edfunders.org/ (scroll down to see the logo for Fordham) As far as the Grantmakers members list? It’s massive AND very CCSS Machine connected. See all the member organizations:  http://www.edfunders.org/our-community/member-organizations

Smith Richardson Foundation, you can find out more about this Foundation at their website, https://www.srf.org/
That stated, here’s an excerpt about education from their ‘domestic public policy’ page,
In terms of human capital development, the Foundation has been supporting work to identify how schools can become more productive by, for example, increasing the quality of the teacher workforce or adopting more effective curricula.  Because success in the contemporary economy requires individuals to acquire education and training beyond high school, the Foundation is building a portfolio of projects on post-secondary education.”
Among the past grant recipients are the pro CCSS groups: Brookings Institute and  Harvard University (well documented ties to CCSS)
You can also find the the CCSS tied Urban Institute among the Smith Richardson Foundation’s grants.(see their 2010 publication, where they go into detail about early education success for immigrants via CCSS on page 7: 412330-Young-Children-of-Immigrants-and-the-Path-to-Educational-Success) Then, contrast that with their other 2010 publication, http://www.urban.org/sites/default/files/alfresco/publication-pdfs/901345-Will-We-Ever-Learn-What-s-Wrong-With-the-Common-Standards-Project.pdf
Urban’s Board of Directors and you’ll find members from PBS, Bank of American, the University of NC, Harvard University, and MIT.
Each of these groups have support for the CCSS alignment. See the Board:
http://www.urban.org/about/board-of-directors

The Smith Richardson Foundation has other groups with grants you need to read to believe. You will see a wide variety of educational levels from preschool to GED and everything else in between. Visit their entire ‘education’ grants,

Tulsa Community Foundation, their website: https://tulsacf.org/  Their ties to early education, CCSS alignment? See below:
tulsaschools

What you see above is from the Coalition for Community Schools. I’ve covered this Coalition in previously published articles. However, I’m including the most relevant one.
https://commoncorediva.wordpress.com/2015/06/19/fom-a-new-ccs-coalition-for-community-schools/

To access the Tulsa Community video featured in the screen shot: http://www.communityschools.org/about/early_childhood_education_news.aspx

To access the Coalition’s ‘perfect fit’ article where they connect early education and CCSS:

To see how the current Tulsa CCSS alignment efforts grew from an earlier Tulsa Community Foundation movement, TulsaCommunityFoundation (scroll to the bottom of page 50 and look on the right hand side for “Step Up Tulsa!”)

Back to NIEER:

I found buried in their publications and research this document which was presented in the ‘resources’ section of their newsletter detailing the re-authorization of the ESEA (Elementary and Secondary Education Act). This document was published by the National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP). The topic? “Making PreK to 3rd Grade Assessments Matter”. You won’t believe what you read. It is full of CBE (competency based education). CBE is a huge portion of not only CCSS, but CTE (Career Tech Education).
To access the document: leading-pre-k-3-learning-communities-executive-summary
You really should look at the entire July 2015 newsletter. Why? You’ll find a global investment summit where the topic was early childhood education; you’ll find a federal budget for early childhood learning; you can find studies, and links galore.
To access the NIEER newsletter: http://nieer.org/publications/online-newsletters/volume-14-issue-14

As far as the NIEER state by state yearbook (the original screen shot of this article), you’ll want to investigate that, too. CCSS is listed in the glossary of abbreviations. You’ll also see Title One funding and TANF funding (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families). I was able to tie abuse of TANF funds by CCSS in the states in my previous article, https://commoncorediva.wordpress.com/2015/09/29/ftf-more-tracking-the-workforce-aligned-society/

Monday Musings: More Parent CCSS Alignment

Anti CCSS Warriors, we’ve seen time and time again, especially in the past month, how the CCSS Machine has been cranking out the “parents checklists”, the ‘parents toolboxes’, and the like. However, did you know there’s a new “Parent/Community Checklist” by the U.S. Dept. of Education? Yes! The Gates Foundation even helped them pull it off. But wait, so did the Scholastic Books Company! I’ll be sure to include the link to the checklist, but to see the Gates/Scholastic mentions, you’ll need to see the footnotes.

.
.

As far as the U.S. Dept. of Education’s suggested resources to help you become a better aligned parent/community? Great Schools, National PTA, and the federal government. Need I mention that each of these ‘resources’ are subjective about Common Core and not objective?!

There are a couple of other groups which helped create the aligned guide to the ‘high standards’. They are the UNCF and NCLR (UNCF stands for “United Negro College Fund”/NCLR stands for “National Council of La Raza”) So are these groups also sold out to the Common Core State Standards Initiative? Let’s see!

UNCF, United Negro College Fund:

Their website: http://www.uncf.org/
Their CCSS/CTE ties include the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation via the scholarship program set up between the two. (See: http://www.gmsp.org/publicweb/aboutus.aspx)
See this screen shot from the webpage and note that the now CCSS aligned GED is included as a qualifier for the scholarship. Note that the abbreviation CCR stands for “College/Career Readiness”, CTE stands for “Career Technical Education”, and, CCSS stands for “Common Core State Standards”.

gatesuncf

Another tie to help fuel the CCSS Machine’s agenda? The support of the “America College Promise Act” which includes free community college tuition (community colleges are sold out to the CCSS/CTE alignment), data mining, universal design for learning, and that continues the grinding down of our communities and their citizens.
See their supportive statement: http://cqrcengage.com/uncf/app/write-a-letter?6&engagementId=117276

Another tie? This tie includes two other pro CCSS financial backers. The Walton Foundation and the Koch Foundation. Walton’s program is targets ‘reform’. Helping them out with this agenda? See this excerpt about the Summer Intern Program, “One of the principal elements of the paid summer internship program that exposes Fellows to professional careers at leading K-12 education organizations and schools focused on education reform. Specifically, Fellows are deployed as interns to organizations and schools located in such cities as the District of Columbia, New York, Boston, New Orleans, and Atlanta. Examples of internship host organizations included: Teach for America, New Schools Venture Fund, Paul Public Charter School, BUILD, Black Alliance for Educational Options, Thomas B. Fordham Research Institute, and Stand for Children.” If you’d like more evidence about the Walton/UNCF: http://uncf.org/sites/Walton/index.walton.asp  As far as the Koch Foundation’s interaction, $25 million for scholarships (began in 2014 and will end in 7 years). The scholarships are targeted to those students in post-secondary education and concerned about their communities. There are other parameters. To see more: http://uncfkochscholars.uncf.org/

Now, are you ready for a bit of irony? Even the UNCF has noticed that College/Career Readiness isn’t improving at all, in fact, their July 2015 reports a lag. See: http://www.uncf.org/sections/News/SS_PressReleases/pressrelease_details.asp?prID=420

NCLR, National Council of La Raza:

Their website: http://www.nclr.org/
Their CCSS/CTE ties include so much Common Core and College Career Readiness support, there’s an entire section of the website devoted to it. Complete with the fallacy of the ‘state led’ CCSS. There are plenty of resources on this page, including two You Tube videos. One is from a charter school using CCSS, the other is how the ‘global economy’ is involved. Gee, can we tell where we’ve heard THAT fallacy before?  To see the entire page, complete with the videos, http://www.nclr.org/index.php/issues_and_programs/education/common_core/

From their NCLR blog, here’s the fifth reason they claim teachers love the CCSS:

“If you want your kids prepared for college and career, then you’ll love Common Core State Standards because…They are aligned to higher education standards that demand the skills students need to be successful in college and in their careers. The Common Core State Standards are our best hope for ensuring our kids are well-served and college-ready, but we’ll need all our teachers on board for this effort to be truly successful.”

To see a webinar from 2014 concerning the “Step Up, Step In” (their name for the NCLR campaign in support of CCSS and CCR), set aside at least one hour.

The NCLR also has it’s own type of “Career Pathways” programs, too. Oh, no questioning the CTE ties with this effort! Their support stretches all the way to the WIOA (Workforce Investment and Opportunity Act) as well. See it all for yourselves: http://www.nclr.org/index.php/issues_and_programs/economic_policy/workforce_development_programs/ Be sure you look at their in-depth blog articles about how the community needs to weigh in on education/workforce efforts. Below you’ll find the corporations which advise the NCLR.      ” AT&T; Bank of America; Chevron; Citi; The Coca-Cola Company; Comcast/NBCUniversal/Telemundo; ConAgra Foods, Inc.; Ford Motor Company; General Mills, Inc.; General Motors; JPMorgan Chase; Johnson & Johnson; Kraft Foods; McDonald’s Corporation; MillerCoors LLC; PepsiCo, Inc.;Prudential Financial; Shell; State Farm Insurance Companies; Time Warner Inc.; TOYOTA;  UPS; Verizon; Walmart; and Wells Fargo”

To see the many, many funds the Gates Foundation has granted the NCLR, visit:
http://www.gatesfoundation.org/How-We-Work/Quick-Links/Grants-Database#q/k=La%20Raza

To see the U.S. Dept. of Education’s new checklist, visit: http://www2.ed.gov/documents/family-community/parent-checklist.pdf

Note that every group you, as a parent, are pointed to in this checklist is somehow tied to CCSS/CTE/CCR. Note the IB and AP (International Baccalaureate and Advanced Placement) are also tied to the CCSS/CTE/CCR and the UNESCO ‘Education for All’ agendas.

FTF: CCSS, Dehumanizing Characters Daily

No CCSS Resource has all 7 pillars of traditional education. It CAN'T based on it's illegal nature.
No CCSS Resource has all 7 pillars of traditional education. It CAN’T based on it’s illegal nature.

“What a tangled web we weave, when we practice to deceive.” How many of us remember learning this as a child? Common Core Standards, the CCSS Machine, and those running it attempt to deceive us every single day the illegally based Standards are allowed to exist.

It’s ‘Back to School’ season. That means parents shopping, which means money is being spent. It means corporations (ESPECIALLY those embedded in the CCSS Machine) are dangling new resources, products, and technology in front of everyone from the school staff to the state levels of education decision making.

It means the CCSS Machine is pumping out  big volumes of ‘white paper research’ to back up WHY CCSS/CTE (Career and Technical Education)CCR (College and Career Readiness) is a ‘must have’. (Don’t forget with each of the above, you have STEM, STEM to STEaM, Next Generation Science Standards, the C3 (CCSS aligned Social Studies), and so much more that’s egregious!

No matter how many ‘back to school’ seasons we get where CCSS is being rammed down our throats, the pattern’s the same. Hype up the Common Core and all its related crud and you’ve got ‘credible’, ‘new’ research to support it. BULL! As I’ve shared with you before in my ‘subjective’ vs ‘objective’ anti CCSS article, you CAN’T call research or studies conducted by the SAME folks corrupting education AND use them as your ‘evidence’ as to HOW CCSS is a proven success. IT’S called CONFLICT of INTEREST!

Those Pillars:

In the picture I provided above, I stated in the caption that ‘no CCSS Resource has all 7 pillars of traditional education.’ My fellow Warriors, CCSS by its very existence has NONE of the 7! The 7 pillars you see above: ethics, humility, instruction, discipline, knowledge, integrity, and, honesty are attributes. Together, they make up true wisdom. What’s an attribute? In its noun form, ‘attribute’ is a quality regarded as a part of yourself that’s inherent. In other words, it is deeply rooted in your character. Character, as we know, takes YEARS to develop. It takes real life experiences. No computer device or program can teach attributes in their true sense. Yet, during “Back to School” season, the CCSS Machine will promote….

Attributes via CCSS, Courtesy of the Computer:

One of my avid followers tipped me off the what I’m about to share with you. I thank her tremendously. This picture comes from an article targeting teachers for the upcoming school year. It’s promoting how to make the most out of those new tablets, laptops, and, other technology devices your students will be using this year. Note what’s in the center of the picture: “Graduate Attributes and Capabilities”

There's more in the middle than 'attributes and 'capabilities'.
There’s more in the middle than ‘attributes and ‘capabilities’.

Just what else is stated in the middle of this circle? “Good communicator; energy, passion and enthusiasm; true to value and ethics; understands strengths and limitations; listens and learns from errors and experiences; empathizing; time management skills; remains calm; thinks strategically; transparent and honest; gives credit; persevering.”

The symbols you see? Oh, those are all the computer based programs which are to being used to ‘teach’ attributes!

To access a fuller size picture, refer to the article, my friend shared with me. http://www.edudemic.com/the-ultimate-guide-to-using-ipads-in-the-classroom/

You’ll definitely want to see all the others words littered throughout the circle. You’ll be able to recognize some of the more well known pro CCSS corporate logos. Ones like Facebook and Google, but, oh my..there are TONS more right in front of you! Be sure to read the comments. They are all from foreign countries expressing how great learning like this is!

For example, the article features “Dragon Dictation”. I featured the “Dragon Voice Recognition” as CCSS aligned back in December 2014. The difference here is the first one is an application to download on that new tablet, laptop, or whatever device students bring to class. The second one is an entire software program for home use. See: https://commoncorediva.wordpress.com/2014/12/10/wybi-wednesday-common-core-promises/ (*Note: you’ll see some other digital learning resources in this article besides Dragon)

Then, there’s one application for ‘mind mapping’ capabilities. Yes, the teacher is encouraged to use this to stimulate brainstorms in his/her students. It’s called “Simple Mind +” The company behind this one is a privately owned Dutch company! Their speciality? According to their website, “specializing in smart card enabled cryptographic software used to solve real-world problems in large corporations.” To find out more about them, http://www.xpt.nl/about (*Note: the most recent publication I found on the website was 2006. Microsoft in among the companies supported by XP. To find that, look in the “Products” and click on ‘Castella’)

The Mind Push:

With all this alignment via technology style, we already know tremendous amounts of money are being not only poured into creating the tools, but in selling them, too! While you may know some of the groups involved, here’s one you may not recognize. “MIND Research Institute”. Website: http://www.mindresearch.org/

If you learn best visually, this is fine. However, no every child learns visually!
If you learn best visually, this is fine. However, no every child learns visually!

According to their current statistics, 800,000 students and 31,000 teachers are exposed to this math program called ST Math (Spatial-Temporal Math). See: http://www.mindresearch.org/stmath/
K-6th grade ST Math? ” It is closely aligned to state and Common Core State Standards for Mathematics and integrates with core instruction.”
Middle School and High School ST Math doesn’t use the same wording, but it does use ‘remediation’ and ‘intervention’ as well as pointing back to the K-6th program.
On the “About Us” page, leading counsel at the Mind Research Institute are at least 2 public education officers and one elected politician. You can also see pro CCSS supportive groups represented like Bank of America and State Farm. (*Note: If you weren’t aware of  State Farm being supportive, here’s the statement I found on the CCSS website, ““State Farm is pleased to support the Common Core State Standards Initiative. State by State adoption of these standards is an important step towards maintaining our country’s competitive edge. With a  skilled and prepared workforce, the business community will be better prepared to face the challenges of the international marketplace.” -Edward B.’Rust’Jr., Chairman and CEO, State Farm Insurance Companies” ) To see the other supportive statements as well as State Farm’s original sourced excerpt, http://www.corestandards.org/assets/Quotes-from-Supporters.pdf

MIND Research Institute is a non profit, tax exempt group incorporated back in 1998, according to their financial documentation on the website. In 2014, over 7 million dollars in total for ‘fundraising and philanthropy’ was collected. To see their filed documents, http://www.mindresearch.org/pdf/financials/MIND-FS-2014.pdf

Among 2013 donors/supporters of the MIND Research Institute Math program? BR (Business RoundTable) and the White House’s “Educate to Innovate” campaign.

mathmindmoney

To access the 2013 Annual Report: MINDInstitute Why do you need this? It contains the vision of expanding the math to college levels so those earning teaching degrees can teach this! You’ll also get to see who or what group donated to the Institute. Some heavy hitting CCSS backers are included.

To see the White House’s detailed “Educate to Innovate” website,
https://www.whitehouse.gov/issues/education/k-12/educate-innovate
Be sure to look at the “At a Glance” page. You’ll see all kinds of federal overreaching plans. Plans that very much are STILL being decided in D.C.! Plans that involve birth to career education!

Want to dehumanize character via CCSS, easy..just use a computer to teach everything.

Monday Musings: CCSS Field Trips?

Has your child taken a field trip lately? Just how CCSS aligned was it?
Has your child taken a field trip lately? Just how CCSS aligned was it?

Who doesn’t love a great field trip with the class or group? How far as CCSS gone to line up these educational excursions? Let’s see if we can find out!

Road Trip Ahead!:

I don’t know how much you may or may not know about field trips. I know plenty. It used to be my business, literally. My business partner and I had a great time planning educational field trips for private schools.

Then, 2008 came, and suddenly, the business dried up. Times were so financially tough, field trips fell to the back side of the planning table. Since then, I’ve noticed in researching Common Core that many of the destinations schools or educational groups go to are becoming more and more aligned. Then, I got my latest issue of the Student Group Travel magazine (seems my free subscription didn’t get cancelled). While not one mention of CCSS was in the glossy ads, plenty of clues to lead to the alignment were.

Down on the Farm:

So, why would some these destinations CHOOSE to align themselves with CCSS? After all, most of the places chosen for a field trip have no full time teachers for lesson planning. What do I mean? Well, take for example, a local farm which has become an agritourism location. What this means is the farm gets visitors, the visitors get activities and lessons. Here in NC, the agritourism has partnered with the NC Dept. of Public Instruction. No question about Common Core’s presence there. Below look at the graphic which was put together by NC State and is on file in the NC General Assembly’s website.

While not visible in the graphic, we know 'education' is more than 'workshops'.
While not visible in the graphic, we know ‘education’ is more than ‘workshops’.

In fact, in this 2014 report, education is the second highest benefit of agritourism! I’m including the entire pfd, as you’ll want to see how ‘community(collective) minded’ the entire movement is. See: 2. NCSU_Agritourism_2014 You’ll also note that MO and NC worked together on this and that most of the data appears to be from 2011. I imagine, you may be asking the question, “That’s great, Lynne, but where’s the NC DPI tie in?” See this graphic from a farm near where I live in NC:

This is just one farm in NC where agritourism has met CCSS.
This is just one farm in NC where agritourism has met CCSS.

If you were to click each of the Standards, you’d be taken to a separate page where the CC is laid out for Preschool and up. Please note that I’m not suggesting ALL agritourism is CCSS aligned, but I’ve found where back in 2009, all kinds of agribusiness leaders met and were learning from each other how to increase agritourism for the ‘collective region’ of TN, GA, NC,and SC. Grant money was used to fund this educational meeting. See: http://www.caes.uga.edu/center/caed/pubs/agritourism/documents/AgritourismTrainingforAgricultureProfessionalsManual.pdf  How this can be helpful in your area? It will show you where to look in your state’s agritourism (example: USDA grants). I was able to find in SC, a specific type of grant used, RBDG (Rural Business Development Grant). Among the institutions which may be able to benefit are higher learning facilities. See: http://www.rd.usda.gov/programs-services/rural-business-development-grants

Don’t think I’m out to kill the farmers, I grew up on a farm. I love farmers. However, when CCSS is involved, I’m not afraid to dig up the dirt!

Going shopping or to the classroom?:

You, as a warrior of CCSS, know, it is everywhere, but what about at the mall? Yes, I found it at the Mall of America! Remember I said I had a magazine with suggested field trips? This one was a featured destination. In the event you’ve not been to MOA (Mall of America), it’s in MN, where supposedly, there’s no CCSS. So, is it true? MN has only adopted the ELA portion of CCSS. See: http://www.mprnews.org/story/2013/06/07/education/common-core-standards

Nickelodeon has a big place at the Mall. So big, it’s called “Nickelodeon’s Universe”. Nickelodeon is the #1 brand with kids. It also is part of Viacomm. Viacomm is a huge supporter of STEM (yes, STEM is absolutely connected to CCSS). At the “Universe”, you can get a 3 or 4 hour physics class. The materials have recently been updated. I did find the old physics guide, but to access the updated version, you have to contact group sales. I was able to find that on Nick, Jr. preschool games are crammed with STEM. See: http://www.nickjr.com/blaze-and-the-monster-machines/about-blaze/blaze-curriculum_ap.html

American Girls brand and Legos each have big stores in MOA. Both have chosen to align with CCSS, as well. AG (American Girls) uses history as a main feature in their dolls. Legos, we know, involves science and creativity. The news about AG broke a couple of years ago when a Pearson Publishing mini textbook showed up in the accessories for the dolls. See:
http://thefederalist.com/2013/12/13/even-american-girl-dolls-spared-common-core-national-standards/  As far as Legos,  they have an entire page of CCSS ELA, Math, and Science, see: https://education.lego.com/es-ar/lesi/elementary/storystarter/ss-curriculum/ss-standards

Other Field Trips:

Aquariums, museums, and yes, even amusement parks can have CCSS.

For example, I live near Carowinds Amusement Park. Each year there’s an Educational Day where school groups of all educational choices may join in and learn engineering, science, physics, math, and other subjects. Is CCSS there? Through the partnering group, Discovery Place, yes it is! While DP supplies the lessons, which are aligned, Carowinds provides the place lessons are carried out. Sneaky! If you’d like to see the STEM/CCSS Teacher Workshop Guide (funded in part by Bank of America, another big supporter of the CCSS Machine), http://www.discoveryplace.org/content/education_studio/resources/educators/pdf/7.pdf

Where can you find the CCSS tie to museums? If they are connected to any sort of U.S. Department, you can bet your school bus, CCSS is there. If they are associated with the Smithsonian Institute, CCSS will be there. If your museums are gifts to the state citizens, CCSS will be there. For example, here in NC, we have public aquariums on the coast. Aligned lessons are there. Why? Funding is part of the answer. The Dept. of Public Instruction’s the other. See the below screen shot:

Even the turtle's a victim of CCSS!
Even the turtle’s a victim of CCSS!

It’s a shame CCSS is ruining education, but it’s absolutely horrid that field trips are going down the same road.
