Expansion At What Cost?

Anti Fed Ed Warriors, with all the attention being focused on the DC circus-like behavior, did you know the U.S. House passed a Bill late last week? This Bill (HR 6757) is a thief dressed as taxpayer savings. The thief is headed straight for the schools and our homes, too.

PA Rep. Mike Kelly introduced HR 6757 in early September 2018. As of the end of September, it’s heading for the U.S. Senate. Fast tracked Bills mean the CCSS Machine is up to something, Warriors.

The House voted 240-177 in favor of this Bill. Currently, HR 6757 is in the Finance Committee of the Senate.

Warriors, the bottom line surrounding HR 6757 is this:
Expansion of government to create the ‘end’ of school choice discrimination. How? By messing with our taxpayer dollars. (*Note: Jeb Bush, a huge CCSS Machine member has been pushing ESAs, education savings accounts for quite a while. So has Sen. Lamar Alexander. Sen. Alexander was also one of the major Congress members who promised America that ESSA, Every Student Succeeds Act, would give education back to the States. He lied about that, Warriors, he’s lying about ESAs, too. Lastly, Heritage Foundation and Sen. Alexander have a connection. Heritage is in full support of ESAs under the illusion of ‘school choice’.)
nochoice

HR 6757 seeks to amend the Internal Revenue Code from 1986, too. Supposedly, if enacted, it will save families TONS of money (The Bill is called the Family Savings Act).

Warriors, you may well remember that the 1980s brought us President Reagan. Reagan chose Charlotte Iserbyt to help end the U.S. Dept. of Education. She was fired instead. Mrs. Iserbyt has been warning us since the 1980s about the globalization of American education; how education savings accounts will be used as tax schemes to turn schools into workforce prep institutions.

What is Congress REALLY setting us up for with bills like HR 6757, Warriors? Look below:

couponmessage
(Source)

Our current President (Trump) and Vice President (Pence) even used school choice and vouchers as part of their plan upon coming into Office. President Obama was big on ‘choice’ and the expansion of charters.

From 2017, Freedom Project Media’s 3rd video in their series called “Alternative Education in the Crosshairs”. This segment laid out the illusion of school choice and ESAs. If you’d like to view the other 3 segments, here’s my article featuring them.

But, Wait…The Media Said HR 6757 Is Good:

Warriors, very few major media outlets reported on HR 6757’s passage by the House. The spin was sunshine and roses, too.
PR Newswire shared the Family Research Council’s article about how applause-worthy HR 6757 is.

FRCpraise
Warriors, not to discredit FRC, but the ties to the U.S. Sec. of Education DeVos and her family are woven throughout this Christian based Council.

Let’s also raise THIS question:
If we’re going to start education savings for unborn children, when will the control of their education and/or taxation of them begin?

Breibart News also shared the news, although not quite as cheerful as the FRC’s.

Warriors, we’ve seen the huge controversy unborn children involve. Do we really need to throw education into the mix, too?! Are we so addicted to seeing DC play with fire (so to speak) in relation with our children that we’d actually be alright with HR 6575? I would hope not!

From TaxFoundation.org’s website, the news about HR 6757 is not only welcome, it ties to other D.C. Legislation which impacts not only taxes, but our freedom. The article I’ve included gives you a good basic understanding of the new Universal Savings Accounts.

taxsupport
What these USAs (Universal Savings Accounts) can achieve sounds great. However, Warriors, similar systems are already in place in Canada and the United Kingdom. The U.S. House of Representatives’s Bill HR 937 (Universal Savings Account Act) is sponsored by Rep. Brat from VA. Over in the Senate Sen Flake from AZ, introduced S 2320 for USAs.

The most disturbing part? The language of these types of accounts has the government in the driver’s seat and will ‘allow’ you to open savings accounts! If we’re putting the government in charge of our savings AND education, where will our freedoms stand?!

FryingPanFire250_250

Look To The HR 6757 Committee Report:

Warriors, don’t simply stop at the language of HR 6757. Like the FY 2019 Appropriations Bills, The Family Savings Act has a Committee Report. If we’re going to better understand the strings this updated IRS Code will have, it will be here. While HR 6757 is a mere 98 pages, the Committee Report is well over 300 pages.

Title 3 of HR 6757 is where you’ll find the USAs, the Education Savings Accounts (ESAs) and more. However, remember, that in Congressional legislation, each part or title of a bill builds off the other titles. So, don’t simply skip to Title 3, look at Titles 1 and 2, first. Then, look beyond Title 3 for more strings.

I urge you to look on your own in the Committee Report for HR 6757. You’ll find that ‘education’ is embedded 120 times. You’ll read that these tax changes will begin AFTER Dec. 31, 2018 and extend to all the years beyond then. (*Note: you’ll see the initials JCT, this is short for Joint Committee on Taxation.)

Below are just a few of the CCSS Machine moves HR 6575 will bring to fruition:
a) play upon the DC led expansion of registered apprenticeships (will tie to CTE, Career Tech Education, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and, Math), College and Career Readiness (CCR), and more.
b) assimilates homeschooling families and pays special attention to dual enrollment
c) Page 20: education loan repayments
d) Page 44: tax sheltered annuities and education
e) Page 71: tax advantaged savings and education for the disabled
(*Note: also on Page 71, you’ll see the clear definition of 529 College Savings Plans. They are the government’s, not yours. You’ll also see Coverdell Accounts. Look especially to the section called “Reasons for Change”. This will explain WHY Congress wants to change the tax codes.)
f) Page 73: The blow by blow account for expanded 529 programs
g) Page 75: More “Reasons for Change”. From my ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act) research, this is a blatant grab on homeschoolers across America. Also on Page 75, direct ties to the National Apprenticeship Act. What 529 changes will occur (costs associated with apprenticeships, especially in higher education; home education expenses; and, qualified education loans spread out over your lifetime.)

Related:

Warriors, we know there have been Bills amending IRS tax codes before. Their purpose? To act as a back door to overtaking education. Back in 2017, I showed you how S 1193 and HR 2865 were proposed to amend taxes for P3s in education. These ‘sisters’ would allow for businesses to control education. (*Note: look for items #3 and 4 in the linked article above.)

If you’d like to see Forbes’ take on the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act and how it may impact our unborn children, read this.

Warriors, because there is no real school choice in ESSA and because our tax codes are shifting to reflect globalism, we know education has followed suit. How? Collectivism!

Lastly, my fellow Warriors, if you think of ESAs as a ‘pay for success’ scheme (which they are being spun this way for Native Americans), you’ll get a shock. We need this type of ‘wake up’ call.

Closing:

Warriors, we knew the CCSS Machine’s grasp on education was HUGE. We knew ESSA and the mandates would level school choice (remember, those 529 Savings Programs and Vouchers were supposed to give more choice, but it’s an illusion we cannot afford to buy into).

We knew Congress overreached into education. But this? This isn’t so much about education. It’s about top-down control..of our money, how we spend it, where we save it.
It’s about limiting YOUR voice in your own life..and the lives of your children! This isn’t about academics, it’s about a boosted economy (part of why we have income and taxes).
It’s about being shackled for a lifetime of servitude. This IS not OUR AMERICA!

Will you stand up against this tyranny? Our government is stealing us blind. We MUST fight back.

Not For The Faint Hearted

Author’s note: This article contains unpleasant material. Please remember, the evidence and research are provided for you to decide.  We must be prepared and informed Warriors, not reactive Warriors

Oh, my fellow Anti CCSS Warriors..We have seen so many awful things happen to education in the past few years together. We’ve seen an increase in the ‘workforce training’ being passed off as ‘academic prowess’.

We’ve seen shifts in how the attitudes, values, beliefs, and, thinking have become so twisted we may not recognize who our children are. Because ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act) codified CCSS, we will continue to see unwelcome changes in our nation.

However, what’s changing our children right before our eyes?

Globalism, collectivism, Communism, Socialism, and…………

SATANISM

Because Globalism and all the other ‘isms’ are tied to Common Core (remember, the roots of CC are in the United Nations, which has  been traced to demonic activities and beliefs.)

Part of the ‘sales pitch’ surrounding all this? “Fun”. One of my previously published articles showed you how the ‘fun’ was a guise devised by Robert Muller to steer our children to workforce based education for a socialist benefit. While the article was pointing out how homeschoolers are being pulled into this.

Back in 2014, I wrote an article about Evil having no place in education. It shows you the awful connections between Bill Gates, UNESCO, the World Core Curriculum and the Lucifer Publishing Company.

However, it’s what follows, which is the truly unpleasant (downright disturbing) educational activities you need to know about.

ASSCs:

Warriors, that’s the abbreviation for the After School Satan Clubs in America. Maybe you remember the news from 2016 about the school district in GA which was being asked to start up an ASSC.

According to CBN’s (Christian Broadcasting Network) website, Clubs (as of 8/17) are in Los Angeles, Pensacola, Portland, Salt Lake City, Seattle, Tacoma and Springfield, Missouri. Below, in the screen shot, notice the ‘fun’ pictures used to draw our children’s attention to the ASSCs:

ASSCpic
(*Note, as of this writing, Satanic Temples are in TX, GA, NY, OR, CA, LA, FL, AZ, MA, CO, MI, and WA. Coming soon: MO and OK. Where there’s a Temple, the ASSCs will also be. According to all the sources, ASSCs are targeting similar Christian Clubs. I did not find any mention of any other faith based clubs being targeted.)

Warriors, according to all the information I found, these Clubs are available to all school choices, not simply public school children.  If the two smaller versions (above) don’t look ‘fun’ enough, look at the way the Satanic Temple ASSC’s page on their website has depicted the ‘mascot’:

hipdevil
Warriors, if you choose to investigate the website, notice that in the cartoon, the ‘hip devil’ is holding what resembles a candy cane.
I’ve provided you a look (below) at the permission slip with some added emphasis:

permitsevil

Why the red and orange circles? The CCSS Machine has gone to great pains to sell the nation on how ‘great’ the critical thinking, problem solving, creativity, and character building are with the aligned curriculum and resources. These resources include after-school programs.

The 4Cs (collectivism, critical thinking, collaboration, and creativity) are the anchors of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Math). The 4Cs are the anchors of Common Core, Career and College Readiness, Next Gen Science, Career Tech Education, STEM, C3 (College, Career, and Civic Life) and whatever else CC’s been re-branded as (ie: “Future Ready”)

The 4Cs, College/Career Readiness, STEM, and all which connects them are embedded in ESSA, too! More globalism ties in ESSA include the “UDL”, Universal Design for Learning”, Universal Preschool, and, massive data mining to track students from cradle to grave.

You may also notice there’s a “Protect Children” campaign that also is a Satanic Temple project. It’s against corporal punishment. Below, is a picture of the letter they have available to send to your School Board against any type of corporal punishment, including isolation rooms:

protectchild
(*Note: from the “Protect Children” page, this disclaimer,Please note that this tactic has not yet been tested in court. If a student who registers is subsequently harmed and we launch a legal challenge, the State would need to argue that their right to abuse children supersedes the religious rights of students.”)

Warriors, the video contained in this undated  Newsletter is downright chilling. Not because of the images, the background ‘song’.

According to the Forbes article about the ASSCs, the writer also thought the video was chilling. Temper that with this article from the Federalist. It carries the tone of  ‘let’s step back a minute’. While I think what the author is sharing is worth listening to, I know, as a Mom, there is MUCH to be watchful of anytime Satan enters the picture.

Warrior Concerns:

Why did I include the video, if it’s so creepy?

1) We need to know! How can we protect our students from the CCSS Machine if we do not know all the ways IT seeks to destroy our children? After all, so much is available to them on-line. Have they seen this video?! We must know! It must be discussed.

2) Warriors, we need to understand with Satanism comes mind control and mental health concerns (The Temple has a group known as the Grey Faction).

3) I am not stating mental activities will be carried on during an ASSC gathering. But look at the ‘art’ pages below in the pictures. Strong mental images.

4) Knowing how damaging the SEL (Social Emotional Learning) is and how much of it is codified in ESSA, we should be VERY active in finding out what’s in our schools. With ESSA’s mandate for MORE after school, community wide programs, we MUST be very diligent in finding out what groups like the ASSCs are out there, how will they have access to your students? With the recent new appropriations from Congress which increase the amount of mental health ‘activities’ in/outside schools, we must DEMAND we be informed before any actions are taken!

For example, look below:

ASSCcolor
Warriors, let’s remember, the Clubs have access to young minds. Once they ‘see’ something like this (below), how will they ‘un-see’ it?? In 2014, I showed you a similar issue with a children’s book of ABCs.

asscmindimage

Warriors, this is the flag of the Satanic Temple from Facebook. Remember, they are the same group running the After School Satan Clubs:

ASSCflag
A Last Concern, based on Evidence:

Warriors, I know this is quite a bit to process. Believe me, I know. However, remember when I shared near the beginning that the CCSS Machine is rooted in the UN? So much of what’s above is also in the CCSS Machine. Is Satanism present in the United Nations?

From 2009, this article reveals the symbolism found in the New York headquarters. From 2016, this article from the New American Magazine ties the UN, Satanism, and the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) together. The ‘common’ bond? It appears to be the combined efforts of Robert Muller and Alice Bailey (a known occultist).

Closing:

Warriors, due to the season we are in, so close to Halloween, keep a watchful eye for anything which seems to harm your family (pets included). We know the CCSS Machine is full of tricks. We know ESSA is no gift of greatness for our education system. We understand the dangers of any ideas which do not fit our family belief system, MUST not be indoctrinated.

Teamwork Agenda: Marketing Lies

Anti Fed Ed Warriors, I know that we have heard SO many educratic lies about schools in America, we could scream.

Wednesday night (9/6/17) I was the honored guest on Women on the Wall’s weekly anti CCSS Machine call. To say it was an easy topic, would be a lie. It wasn’t, in fact, I stumbled through quite a bit. Not because I wasn’t prepared, I was so upset about what is happening!

What was the topic? The upcoming broadcast of the EIF/Project XQ’s “Super School Live”. It’s set for 9/8/17 and is to be aired on ABC, CBS, Fox, and NBC. I urge you to listen to the archived version (above). You’ll need to have a pen and paper (or whatever you use to take notes) handy.

If you don’t have time to listen to the archive, let me state as concisely as I can that the ‘teamwork agenda’ surrounding the broadcast is marketing lies to justify making over American education, especially at the high school level. (*Note: the announcement for the Call had the archived links to my researched published articles you may wish to access for the evidence showing the lies and deception.)

In a ‘jiffy’, you can access the 2006 “Redesigning High School” Report : Reinventing_American_High_School
(*This Report is by the Association for Career and Technical Education, or ACTE)
Later in this article we will revisit what the latest from ACTE is.

This effort is NOT new. It’s NOT USA born or created, either. It’s sick and it’s twisted. The ‘teamwork agenda’ in spreading the marketing lies about education is set to one goal: weak-minded citizens trained for boosting the economy. To find out how you can connect it all together, please listen to the archived call.

Warriors, here’s the entire You Tube video which was discussed at length during the Women on the Wall Call. I only discussed roughly the first 20 minutes of the almost 1 hour and 20 minutes.

More Teamwork Agenda Marketing Lies:

Warriors, what you see below is from my Common Core Diva Facebook page.  I posted this as a sort of follow up to last night’s announcement about the Women on the Wall call and the marketing lies in education.

Here are my comments which lead up to the screen shot:
“Mike Rowe’s first words are, ” In Germany..”
Mr. Rowe has also been used as a puppet for Congress in their push to embed MORE CBE and CTE (Career Tech Ed, which is adult Common Core).
As far as the school mentioned? My husband’s place of employment.
More marketing lies to justify the workforce based shift in education as well as treating humans as commodities, not blessings.”

(*Hear him in the video. ***Warning! The ATTN: video does contain a blasphemous use of the Lord’s name.***)

If you do not know “The ATTN:” social media site, it’s a site where anything from the headlines is used to catch your eye. According to their website, ‘compelling issue-driven content’. In other words: a marketing strategy used to inflate issues.

Warriors, how do I know the false marketing about an educated workforce is ripe in America? Look at the blow-back from my post on the CC Diva Facebook page:

blowback1
Followed by another person who has obviously woken up to the marketing lies:

blowback2

This was followed by my rebuttal points:

Warriors, then check out the next person who decided to agree with the disagreeable person who spoke first. You’ll also see my reply to them:

blowback3

Warriors, here’s a sampling of the other videos Mike Rowe has appeared in to push the teamwork agenda and marketing lies:

My research connecting the Congressional ‘love’ for such a celebrity and his ‘star power’ to push an agenda which supports the CCSS Machine was published back in early March 2017. (Please make sure you read the comment by Patriot Mongoose. The links provided by the Patriot are necessary to further help expose the marketing lies about ‘skills gap shortages’)

1) Congress’s devotion to CTE (Career Tech Education) from 2016’s session. If you want to see some of the same devotion in the early part of the 2017 session, find that here.
2) My open memo to CTE Teachers and Leaders everywhere is one we need to re-visit now that school has begun.
3) The current VP (Vice President) is a CTE believer and backer. This is huge in the current landscape of education.
4) A skills gap myth-busting article of mine, also from 2016.

Archived Rowe CTE Marketing Teamwork Agenda Lies:

74rowe
Warriors, you can access The 74 article here. If you do not have the time to read the article, here’s what is the most important. Mr. Rowe has testified 2 other times before.
1) Rowe is a long-time CTE advocate.
2) Two of his tweets about CTE are seen on the right hand side of the article. One even plays up “Make America Great Again”.
3) Rowe testified in 2011 and 2014. The purpose? A marketing makeover for CTE.
4) The 74 is a pro CCSS Machine member organization, so their spin on Rowe’s activity for CTE. Of course, here, on my blog, you’ll find there is no spin, only the researched facts behind the marketing lies.

NC’s Spin for Teamwork Agenda:

Warriors, earlier in this article, I said we’d revisit the ACTE. Why? One of the latest headlines is about the wonderful news of NC’s CTE unifying with this national organization.

ncacte

If that doesn’t mean much, consider the screen shot (near the beginning of this article) from NASCAR Technical Institute promoting Mike Rowe. NASCAR Tech is in NC! (It’s a branch school of the AZ based corporation.)

In NC, CTE offices are housed in the NC DPI (North Carolina Dept. of Public Instruction) for K-12th grades. In post-secondary education, the NC Board of Governors oversees it. Factor in the NC Dept. of Labor, as well.

Warriors, remember, because of the unifying forces behind the U.S. Dept. of Education and the U.S. Dept. of Labor, we have data tracking expressly FOR aligning careers to academics!

Let’s also consider that CTE is embedded in job seeking assessments used by those one-stop career centers or job application sites as part of your State government. You’ll find CTE in those skill based apprenticeships, too.

Warriors, I want to show you one more way the marketing hype has been used against us.

Here in my town, we’re seeing a 2014 bond (was placed on the ballot for citizens to vote on) come to fruition in the form of a ‘renovated’ city high school.

The money poured into the ad campaign for the renovation was plenty. The write-ups in the local news sources were also quite numerous. The bumper stickers and T-shirts all encouraged folks to vote ‘yes’ for the Bond, because if you didn’t, you somehow were being non-supportive and a terrible person.
As part of the Bond package, new spaces for CTE were planned on. Guess what? They’ve been built. There’s even a Career Bridge Council to help utilize the teamwork agenda built on education lies.

Warriors, we MUST continue to expose these team driven marketing lies about education! To do any less is simply unacceptable!

A Pied Piper’s Tale

Warriors Against the Core, it’s not a festive report I bring to you today. However, it IS relevant to our War Vs Fed Ed.

That stated, I would like you to recall the ancient tale of the Pied Piper. You may remember the version where the Piper would play his flute to lead the rats away. However, the original version of the tale is a bit more sinister. In that version, the Piper returns to the village for payment for removal of said rats. His payment? The children. I’ll leave it at that. However, if you wish to read the more ghastly version: http://www.ancient-origins.net/myths-legends/disturbing-true-story-pied-piper-hamelin-001969

So how is the CCSS Machine playing its own version of the Pied Piper?

I think, we, as educated anti CCSS Warriors, know how: with deception at almost every level of existence.

Depending on what type of deception is needed determines what tune the Piper uses on the flute. Depending on what level of ‘accountability’ is being performed determines just who the Piper may be at that moment. For example, The Pied Piper of ESSA has to be Sen. Lamar Alexander playing his ‘song’ of ‘returning education control to the States’. However, the Piper’s tune for something like ‘filling the skills gap’ or ’21st Century Skills’ could be led by many groups anxious to lead our students away.

In the remainder of this article, our Piper for the “21st Century Skills” is the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

“Business Leads Solutions”:

The Academy Piper Tune:

First off, watch the video about the “Academy”:

So, Warriors, just WHAT does this organization do to lead our students off to a CCSS/CTE/Workforce Educated demise?! Here’s an excerpt from Oct. 2016:
“The U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation (USCCF) announced today the first cohort of nineteen participants in the Talent Pipeline Management Academy which is supported by a $2.5 million grant from USA Funds. USCCF’s signature workforce development initiative, Talent Pipeline Management (TPM), is a new way of addressing the nation’s skills gap by positioning employers in a more central role as key customers of post-secondary education and training providers. The TPM Academy consists of workshops led by USCCF for business professionals to receive instruction on talent pipeline strategies and guidance for implementation. In addition to a curriculum, technical assistance, and a peer-to-peer learning network, a key resource to be developed as part of the Academy will be the next generation of software tools and applications that support ongoing implementation of signature TPM strategies.”

More Piper Tunes:

One of the ‘biggest’ Piper tunes the CCSS Machine churns out and that ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act) plays, leads students astray via business/corporate overreach into the classroom as the answer to lots of ‘skill gap’ problems.

GradsforLife plies this ‘tune’“The talent pipeline is developed with specific needs and current challenges in mind. Standards developed by the employer coalition are constantly changing based on the current economic environment. It is, therefore, more impactful for the business community to define what skills its workforce needs than to wait for the world of academia to catch up. At the same time, this progressive approach may incentivize academic chiefs to develop reforms.”

Warriors, we’ve seen enough non-educator based disaster via the CCSS Machine. We do not need more. Yet, between ESSA, WIOA (Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act), and HEA (Higher Education Act) have laid a road for the “Pied Piper” where businesses and corporations INCREASE their overreach into the classrooms.

Of the Case Studies the U.S. Chamber’s Talent Pipeline has conducted, at least 2 are corporations and/or businesses are ones I’ve researched and published my findings as to each of their “Pied Piper CCSS/CTE” tunes. Toyota and General Assembly. It features a made-for-You Tube movie were students are given achievement tests. If they pass, they live; if they do not, they die.)

Closing:

Warriors Against the Core, I do not wish to leave you on such a drastic mental image. However, I am not the only Warrior who’s compared what is happening to our students to awful things. I am not alone in hating what is going on in America, as far as our education system being so overrun with Pipers who deceive, indoctrinate, and conform our students.
We must mute their tunes! We must stand between the Pipers of Reform and our students, regardless of their age. The Pipers of Reform are here for EVERY student, not a select few.

Tech Thursday: CTE, CCSS, and Special Needs in Post Secondary Education

Back in December 2014, I first wrote about Common Core, Career and Technical Education and its impact on the Special Needs students. What’s the latest for this population group in Post-Secondary education? Let’s find out in today’s article. Below is the link to the 2014 article:

Want to know how aligned post secondary education can be? Imagine your student on any one of the 3 tracks you see.

An Education Webinar from June 30th:

Just a couple of days ago, the Gates Foundation backed “Education Week” hosted a free educational webinar about post secondary life for those with special needs. The following information is from links suggested as credible resources during the webinar. Credible for us, the anti CCSS Warriors, means we can use the resources to know where to look to access the CCSS Machine’s grasp for our students with special needs.

Education Week’s article, “Advocates Hope Common Core Will Rub Off” shares this criticism that not enough transitional planning is going on for those with special needs shifting from high school to post secondary education. While that may or may not be true, it’s the source EW used which is skewed towards CCSS/CTE (AIR, American Institutes of Research) offering the criticism. “”Many plans lack depth, breadth, and personalization; have low expectations for students with disabilities; do not include plans for postsecondary education; and do not map out how the K–12 education system should connect to other systems, such as postsecondary, vocational rehabilitation, workforce training, or independent services,” says a 2013 report from the American Institutes for Research. “As a result, many students with disabilities leave high school with amorphous and generic plans that fail to address their individual circumstances or interests.” To access the entire article: http://www.edweek.org/ew/articles/2015/06/04/advocates-hope-common-core-will-rub-off.html?intc=EW-DPCT15-TOC

NASDSE, the National Association of State Directors of Special Education, Inc.:

This group based in VA, is supporting the ‘Every Child Achieves Act’ (aka: HR5 as the re-authorization of the NCLB law which in turn gave us Race to the Top and Common Core). Here’s an excerpt from their letter of support to Sen. Lamar Alexander, “NASDSE commends you for including in your bill language that only allows up to one percent of all students – those who have the most significant cognitive disabilities – to take an alternate assessment based on alternate achievement standards. This cap is critical to ensuring that students with disabilities will remain on track to graduate from high school prepared for postsecondary education and/or a career. We therefore urge that you oppose any efforts during the bill’s markup that would raise or eliminate this cap.” You can read the entire letter, http://www.nasdse.org/LinkClick.aspx?fileticket=hLXguhdRtoM%3d&tabid=36

Also available from the NASDSE, is a 2004 data collection document which spells out what ADDITIONAL data is collected on each student with special needs. You can read it: SpecNeedsDataCollect

NASDSE has been around since 1938, but its most recent set of goals includes more post secondary success for the students served. Here’s a short paragraph you may find interesting, “The continued collaboration with our key partners, including the National Association of State Title I Directors and the Council of Administrators of Special Education brings us closer to common language in serving and improving outcomes for all students and remains a priority for NASDSE, as is collaboration with the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Special Education Programs, in order to provide input regarding implementation of the State Systemic Improvement Plans,  Results Driven Accountability and the role of the National Center for Systemic Improvement (NCSI) in providing direct support to our members.”

The Board of Directors are all from various states across America and their Public Instruction departments. AZ, VA, MT, NH, UT, CA, GA, and SD. See: http://www.nasdse.org/AboutNASDSE/BoardofDirectors/tabid/406/Default.aspx (*NOTE; from here you can explore more about the organization via the left hand menu)

If you’re curious about the funding each state receives for educating special needs students, NASDSE and AIR (as in the group above) partnered together back in 2010 and published a report about this topic. See: NASDSEAIR

Pacer’s National Parent Center on Transition and Employment, http://www.pacer.org/transition/:

From their website, “Founded in 1977, PACER Center was created by parents of children and youth with disabilities to help other parents and families facing similar challenges. PACER Center enhances the quality of life and expands opportunities for children, youth, and young adults with all disabilities and their families so each person can reach his or her highest potential. PACER operates on the principles of parents helping parents, supporting families, promoting a safe environment for all children, and working in collaboration with others.” It is a non profit organization based in MN. It is funded by the U.S. Dept. of Education’s Office for Special Education Programs (*NOTE: you can find this fact at the bottom of every page on the website highlighted in blue)

From the Pacer’s 2014 published resources, a ‘new’ way to look at career paths for those students ready to go from high school to post secondary education. Here’s an interesting couple of paragraphs to read. When reading, consider the context of Career Pathways and/or Career and Technical Education (which are CCSS aligned), “To be able to acquire these skills and effectively change jobs, and plan and manage multiple careers over one’s life time, career development skills are important. The process by which youth get to know their strengths and interests, learn how different jobs connect with those interests, and build these career planning and management skills is called career development.”

“By helping to support youth in making important informed decisions about their future, parents and other caring adults can contribute a great deal to their children’s post-high school success. For youth with disabilities in particular, families often play the very important roles of setting high expectations for youth’s future employment, and of advocating for opportunities for them to identify their strengths and interests and to explore career options. Families who learn about and begin the career development process with their youth early will be better prepared to support them in choosing and building a bright future. “Family” here is defined broadly as adults and children related biologically, emotionally, or legally, including single parents, blended families, unrelated individuals living cooperatively, and partnered couples who live with biological, adopted, and foster children.” The entire document was found on a linked website from the Pacer’s website. The National Collaborative on Workforce and Disability (NCWD). To read the NCWD’s entire document, http://www.ncwd-youth.info/node/1463 (*NOTE: The NCWD is part of the Institute for Educational Leadership which is a supported by a grant from the U.S. Dept. of Labor’s Office of Disability Employment Policy, ODEP; you can find this information at the bottom of the page when you access the article mentioned directly above. It’s highlighted in blue.)
“Think College!”, http://www.thinkcollege.net/:

From their website, you can find out that  “Think College is a project of the Institute for Community Inclusion at the University of Massachusetts Boston. The Think College initiatives are funded by grants from the National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research, the Administration on Developmental Disabilities, the Office of Special Education Programs, and the Office of Postsecondary Education.”

Sic’ ‘Em Saturday: Aligned Summer

No matter how fun it appears, a summer CCSS machine program is still full of agenda!
No matter how fun it appears, a summer CCSS Machine program is still full of  cruel agenda!

Ahh, summer approaches. While you may have plans of relaxing fun, the CCSS Machine has a fully ‘locked and loaded’ menu of intentional alignment to illegally crafted Standards. Would you know where to spot them?

CCSS, Summer Style:
Type in “CCSS Summer” as a search option. If your results are anything like mine, almost 500,000 results will appear. One such group is “Student Achievement Partners, Inc.”. They are hosting  summer courses around the country. They partner with your local schools, so you may not always see “SAP”, you may see “Achieve the Core”, or some other innocuous name.

“SAP, Inc.” was  founded by David Coleman, Jason Zimba, and Susan Pimentel. They are a non-profit group. From their website, http://www.achievethecore.org, “Student Achievement Partners, Inc. was founded by David Coleman, Susan Pimentel and Jason Zimba, lead writers of the Common Core State Standards. We are a non-profit organization with one purpose: to help all students and teachers see their hard work lead to greater student achievement.” (the preceding excerpt is from their http://achievethecore.org/about-us page.) I urge you, as an action step to read the entire ‘About Us’ page. You’ll see how the group is careful to point our where their money comes from (or not), who’s on the governing board, and more. (*Note: be sure to expand the ‘see more’ option near the bottom of the page.) As far as funding, I bet as a studied anti CCSS warrior you can guess at least one of the partners funding this group. That’s right, the Gates Foundation!! See their huge grant to the SAP suckers (sorry, couldn’t resist that jab). http://www.gatesfoundation.org/How-We-Work/Quick-Links/Grants-Database/Grants/2012/06/OPP1061551

So how does “SAP, Inc.” wind up in your school if they don’t receive taxpayer money? Easy, they get invited by your community. One “Become a Core Advocate” page of SAP’s, you find out that “Core Advocates live and work all across the country, in 46 states. As of 2014, Core Advocates in 13 states have also launched their own local networks, which are teacher-led and focused on addressing Common Core needs specific to their states: Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Kentucky, Louisiana, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Washington state and Washington, DC.”  You can read more about the networking, agenda driven advocates:
http://achievethecore.org/page/1026/core-advocate-national-page

Below is a screen shot of 2 of the other  SAP, Inc. partners responsible for helping CCSS aligned resources (be sure to see what summer ‘fun’ they have planned).

There are all kinds of CCSS Summer groups, programs, and resources out there. This is just ONE group with a monumental grasp on the nation. Action step: Look behind that summer program or class BEFORE you sign up!!

I could spend all day pointing out other CCSS Summer plans, but I want point out other CCSS Machine plans for the other illegally based portions of Common Core. Why do I say illegally based? Each one of the following categories is based off the CCSS in some way. Knowing CCSS was illegally crafted and thrust upon us, it is reasoned the rest of the associated arms of education reform are as well.

A “CTE” Summer?:

Could your family be facing a Career Tech Education filled summer as well? You bet!! I was able to find a 2006 Association of Career and Technical Education’s plan for redesigning high school. However, their approach targets the teachers first. How so? Summer conferences and workshops! Here’s the ‘re-design’ plan: Reinventing_American_High_School So how will you know if your state is hosting a summer conference? Here’s the ACTE Arizona’s 2015 Summer Conference page as an example. Action step: AZ isn’t alone, on my quick search I found that CT, PA, AL, TX, GA, and many others are also hosting summer career tech education conferences. If you can attend, do so!! If not, access the documents connected to the Conferences!
AZ’s page:

Remember, ALL 50 states have CTE!
Remember, ALL 50 states have CTE!

STEM Summers:

Yes, by far and away, my pointing out that STEM is part of the CCSS Machine has gotten me the most heated criticism. However, the factual documents I’ve shared throughout my writing have proven otherwise. STEM is the agenda behind CCSS! If you’d like the document which proves this, please contact me. But let’s keep focused on the summer ahead.

STEM summer camps, on-line classes, and even public library programs will be everywhere AND hosted by any number of organizations. Action step: before you sign your family up, look behind the scenes of the program. Here’s just one of the thousands of STEM summer resources: http://www.stemsummerexperience.com/ Based near where I live this popular (and that’s part of the problem..STEM camps are geared to promote fun while building invisible chains to agenda). Watch the promotional video and see if you can spot the invisible agenda item:

Another example, this time from a city wide approach (meaning public funds are used AND more than likely private funds as well) from NY. See: http://ny.chalkbeat.org/2015/05/07/city-offers-new-stem-summer-program-to-hundreds-of-students/#.VU4b0vlViko

Here’s another example, this time from the local community college/university approach.

Next Generation Science Standards:

Like it’s cousin, CTE, NGSS will be focusing on the teachers this summer. In July 2015, take your pick, ‘sunny’ CA or ‘happening’ NJ. Here’s how it’s being promoted, “Join NSTA for one of two first-ever summer institutes to help science educators and leaders implement the NGSS. Each event kicks off with a special keynote address from Barbara Morgan, former NASA Astronaut and Distinguished Educator in Residence at Boise State University, then continues with an engaging series of sessions given by NGSSexperts and differentiated for two grade bands: elementary and secondary.”  CA’s agenda: http://www.nsta.org/docs/2015SummerInstituteAgendaAnaheim.pdf
NJ’s agenda: http://www.nsta.org/docs/2015SummerInstituteAgendaAtlanticCity.pdf

Action step: If you’re not sue how CCSS and NGSS are intertwined, read the Eagle Forum’s articlehttp://www.eagleforum.org/publications/educate/july13/next-generation-science-standards-common-core-incognito.html
Action step: If you want the actual appendix that lays out for you the direction connections:

STEM to STEaM Summers:

You may or may not be familiar with the newest movement from the CCSS Machine. It’s called “STEM to STEaM”. The “STEaM” part stands for ‘Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math”. I’ve not written much about this to date. Not because I haven’t researched it, but because it was do to be published in a national magazine. However, the publisher has since changed its mind and declined my article. Not to fear..it will appear here! You’ll hopefully be amazed to the point of action when you find out all I’ve uncovered. However, let’s keep this on the upcoming summer.

The official website, STEM to STEaM’s opening line is a classic rhetoric filled statement we’ve seen in much of the CCSS Machine’s propaganda..the U.S. economy. Read it for yourselves, “In this climate of economic uncertainty, America is once again turning to innovation as the way to ensure a prosperous future.” Website: http://stemtosteam.org/

As far as this summer, look for all kinds of ‘fun’ from all angles: public AND private (just like STEM).

Here’s an example from East Carolina University: http://www.ecu.edu/cs-cfac/soad/STEM-STEAM.cfm Which part of the University is hosting this? Why the College of Fine Arts and Communication! The selling point, a community outreach. Another collegiate example? The University of TX at Dallas. See: http://www.utdallas.edu/atec/steam/

Another example: A private Christian school’s summer STEaM/STEM camp. This school is located in CA. Look at the way in which the camp is sold to the parents. From the 7 to 12 year old’s camp, “Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math will be used to solve the daily individual, partner, and group challenges.  The essence of STEAM/STEM is problem-based learning for 21st century students.” From 5 to 10 year old’s camp: “Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math will be used to solve the daily individual, partner, and group challenges.  The essence of STEAM/STEM is problem-based learning for 21st century students.  Aspiring scientists and engineers plan, build and test their designs, and then improve them until they are successful.”
For the older camp, see: https://www.tccs.org/event-registration/index.php?option=com_vikevents&task=viewevent&itid=90&Itemid=676 For the younger camp, see:

RMT: Connected to the Core?

AdvancED leading NC straight to more CCSS.
AdvancED leading NC straight to more CCSS.

Today’s “Riddle Me This” is all about a new effort accredited by AdvancED (so CCSS friendly it’s downright shameful) and growing in NC. We’ll also delve into which other states are involved.

The Context:

Many of us who are fighting CCSS, have already been able to connect the dots between AdvancED and CCSS. However, I know many of us may need a refresher OR may be so new to fighting CCSS, they haven’t made the connection. To help you establish what AdvancED does, here’s an excerpt from my guest post I wrote on LadyLiberty1185’s blog in mid 2014: AdvancEd is an online company dedicated to helping your school be the best. Just look at their Common Core Standards page. My personal ‘favorite’ is the reinvention of the report card into digital badges. Read it for yourself. Note: the author is from NASA — as in the guys who went to the moon.” Access the report:  http://www.advanc-ed.org/source/reinventing-report-card
If you’d like to read the entire article on Lady’s site, http://ladyliberty1885.com/2014/07/07/guest-post-common-core-in-charters-private-homeschools/

Here’s what AdvancED has to say about themselves: “AdvancED is the largest community of education professionals in the world. We are a non-profit, non-partisan organization that conducts rigorous, on-site external reviews of PreK-12 schools and school systems to ensure that all learners realize their full potential. While our expertise is grounded in more than a hundred years of work in school accreditation, AdvancED is far from a typical accrediting agency. Our goal isn’t to certify that schools are good enough. Rather, our commitment is to help schools improve.”

What you need to know about AdvancED:
1) They fully support the re-authorization of ESEA (as in the HR5 federal legislation).

2) To support their position of the re-authorization, their report on ‘Diagnostic Review’ explains how they will use school data to an extreme. Get the report: Diagnostic-Review

3) In AdvancED’s latest Annual Report, the non profit shared many vital details we, as anti CCSS warriors need. FYI, the organization is worth over $16 million dollars and is purposed to reinvested everything into continuing to change education. Get the report: AE-AnnualReport2013-14

4) Partners of AdvancED include quite an extensive list of faith-based schools as well as State Boards of Education. Partners link: http://www.advanc-ed.org/services/partnerships State Boards link: http://www.advanc-ed.org/services/state-departments-education (*Note: among the State Boards is CCSSO, as in the Council of Chief State School Officers–you know, half owner of the copyright to Common Core Standards)

The New Push:

Now that you have that information, here’s how AdvancEd is pushing their CCSS support into NC via a ‘new’ school….

Called “North Carolina Connections Academy” (website: http://www.connectionsacademy.com/north-carolina-virtual-school/home.aspx) How did I discover this new school? I received a colorful flyer in my regular mail. The big banner at the top of the mailer states that the school is a ‘tuition-free virtual public school’. All the in-person, ‘get-to-know-all-about-us’ meetings are held in nearby locations (here in NC). However, the return mailing address gives me a Maryland location. Hhmm….not surprised. Here’s the website address for the home office in MD (it’s called “Connections Education, LLC”): http://www.connectionseducation.com/

Because it's virtual, this school can reach anywhere--any state, country, or school which is willing to sign up.
Because it’s virtual, this school can reach anywhere–any state, country, or school which is willing to sign up.

The first clue to CCSS allegiance is ‘public school’. Virtual public schools in NC are still rather new, therefore, not totally understood. Here’s an excerpt from an article by UNC’s WUNC. “The General Assembly required last year that the state create a four-year pilot program for two virtual charter schools. Only two schools applied: North Carolina Virtual Academy, run by K12 Inc.; and Connections Academy, to be managed by Connections Education.” (entire article: http://wunc.org/post/virtual-charter-schools-coming-nc)

The second clue is the curricula publishers list. (Pearson, MacGraw-Hill, and many others) Every page of this “NC” school has Pearson’s logo of “Always Learning” at the bottom.

The third clue: Talent Networks (includes STEM)

The Board of Directors:

It won't take long to research how each of these people are connected to CCSS.
It won’t take long to research how each of these people are connected to CCSS.

“Connections Education” was a 2013 “Best Places to Work” winner. See: http://www.connectionsacademy.com/news/ce-named-among-2013-best-places-to-work

Pearson’s Connection Education is not only in NC, but the following locations:
International Connections Academy, AZ, CA, CO, FL, GA, IA, ID, IN, KS, LA, MA, ME, MI, MN, NM, NV, OH, OK, OR, PA, SC, TX, UT, WI, and WY. Here’s the link to see what the names of the schools are (most are the state’s name followed by “Connections Academy”, however, “Nexus” and a couple of other names are used as smoke screens): http://www.connectionsacademy.com/online-school/availability

The Pearson run entity also offers CTE (Career Tech Ed) courses, so those Career Clusters/Pathways can occur in the virtual student’s life as it does in the students’ lives in the brick and mortar schools. (look under the ‘curriculum’ page for proof).

Of course, with Pearson in charge, you know your student’s information will be data mined all over the globe.
See a related news announcement: http://www.connectionslearning.com/connections-learning/news/advanced-academics-acquisition.aspx

Closing:

While it’s no secret how tied to CCSS North Carolina is, I do wonder if the NC General Assembly did their digging into finding out what organization is behind Connections Academy before they approved the educational experiment with not only our students, but, our tax dollars. If you live in NC, pass this information to your legislator. IF you live in any of the states listed above, share this with your legislators. Hold them accountable! No CCSS in our states MEANS No CCSS, CTE, CCR, or other sly rebrand, rename dreamed up.
