Inhabiting America’s Agenda

Anti Fed Ed Warriors, in yesterday’s article, I showed you how the “Made in America” Week masks an aligned (preK to adult) workforce education agenda. In today’s follow-up, I’ll show you how, that very same agenda will impact your very housing and real estate markets.

While I can definitely prove this, here in NC, and almost literally, in my back yard, I’ll do what I can to show you where this type of activity is also cropping up across the nation.

First Up, NC’s “Inclusionary Zone”:

Warriors, in NC, there are 3 types of  ‘inclusionary zones’. The first type is the largest and is meant for those city or county government employees (including first year teachers). These are general inclusionary zones. Then, there are voluntary zones. These encourage workforce housing development and give incentives to the builders. Lastly, the third type is conditional inclusionary zoning. These pull in the voluntary zone parameters and incorporate some sort of comprehensive (future growth) city/county or State plan.

Then, There’s The City’s Inclusionary Zone:

You’re seeing correctly Warriors. The very town I live in has a new inclusion zone. It’s supposed to be a great thing for the local economy, especially if your are a landlord. Here’s the article link.

Below, is a map I made for you to illustrate how close the workforce based education site is to the proposed workforce housing complex.

This Plan, is evidence that proves Ivanka’s visit to promote workforce education in Mooresville (2018) wasn’t a fluke.
On Page 199, of the One Mooresville, you’ll see the workforce housing zoning plans were approved in 2016.
(Mooresville is a ‘choice’ location for one of her father’s golf courses)

Other notes about the Plan are that sprinkled throughout its pages are other types of ‘sustainable’ living and working. Schools are a kingpin in this Plan as well. After all, I’ve shown you in the past how Mooresville’s playing right into the CCSS Machine’s plans. (Ex: President Obama chose here for his digital shift in education, which lives on in 2019 under President Trump.)

Then, there’s attracting and keeping talented workforce citizens; increasing P3s (public private partnerships); reducing vehicle use; increase digital dependence; transforming existing neighborhoods into cookie cutter ‘racked and stacked’ mini communities; directing city growth via ‘community services’ (one of which is to connect mental health to nature and green spaces) and schools (separate and unified); seeing an increase in charter and private schools; renovating existing public schools and building new ones, and continue to regionalize education. (see below, from Page 35):

From 2018, I found a good article that puts IZs (inclusionary zones) in easy to understand terms. Be sure you read the “How It Works” section. Below is a screen shot from the article:

According to a 2016 blog post from the World Bank, housing is the center point to SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals). As we know, Warriors, the World Bank is heavily invested in America, is a member of the CCSS Machine, and, is a chief supporter of the UN’s SDGs. Below is a screen shot from the blog post:

Warriors, you may be asking how this all connects back to the workforce housing apartments going up in Mooresville, NC? To answer that, I’ve provided you (below) with Page 169 from the One Mooresville Plan. (see the embedded link, earlier in this article)

While Mooresville is NOT Charlotte, it is close enough that what Charlotte does very much impacts what Mooresville does. By 2030. this entire area is to see a population growth of 47%. Our roads connect us, our data connects us, our educational demise connects us, so really, Warriors, it won’t be long before Mooresville becomes an annex of Charlotte’s city limits. This infograph will also show the expected job (skill based workforce included) growth will be for the entire Charlotte area.

One Last Point:

Warriors, if you still are seeing how IZs (Inclusionary Zones) fit the CCSS Machine, this 2015 article should help.

Supposedly, by creating IZs in your town, you’ll level the playing field when it comes to education. ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act) devoted much language, programs, and, funds (aka: mandates) to doing just that: leveling the educational opportunities. This is where ‘school choice’ enters in. This concept of choice is great. What parent doesn’t want to choose the best school for Johnny and Suzy.

Yet, the reality of this is impossible. Thanks to ESSA. The funds attached to school choice (Ed Savings Accounts, education scholarships, vouchers, etc.) are nothing more than a data tracking device attached to your child and your family. It will track them from education to the workforce. Not only have I devoted much research and time to this stark truth, but Anita Hoge has as well. Her latest article even goes much deeper than my work, in showing you how school choice will destroy local government. (*Note: be sure to scroll down and read THE Charlotte Iserbyt comment.)

Contact your Congress men and women and demand a “NO” vote to S 634. It’s a $5 billion dollar school choice/ed savings accounts disaster sponsored by Sen. Ted Cruz. So far, it’s only been introduced in the Senate.
DeVos is touring the US promoting this and was just in NC yesterday meeting with educrats in Raleigh. The tour is centered on freedom. The reality is these funding strings bring confinement and conformity, not freedom. These funds earmark us for workforce fodder to be fed to the CCSS Machine.

“The Prudence Files: Part Five”

Anti Fed Ed Warriors, we’ve made it! The final installment of my “The Prudence Files” series. Before we go on, I want to pause and thank those who’ve sent information, especially for Part Four. I want to thank each of you for coming back to find out the real truths not being given via mainstream media, too.

In this article, the last 2 Presidential hopefuls; private citizens. Howard Schultz (Former Starbucks CEO ) and Andrew Yang (Venture for America). Will either of these 2 offer We the People a glimmer of hope, as far as education? Let’s see what we can find out.

Schultz’s Bid:

, while some sites say Mr. Schultz is considering running, the original source I used in Part One is where I learned he was. I did find his campaign website, so I’m pretty sure that’s a ‘winner’. Below is a picture of the website:

Schultz is running as a ‘Centrist Independent’ candidate. In his words that means ‘governing from the middle’. According to the Centrist Party, these citizens and/or candidates have no party lines. As such rather than go with what’s popular, they go by what is right. Below is their stance on education.

, it’s very important for me to say that Mr. Schultz is NOT the Centrist Party’s candidate. However, I wanted you to see how the Party leans. By contrast, the American Independent Party is completely different. They believe in the Judea-Christian values of our Founding Fathers (Schultz is Jewish). They also believe in States Rights for education. Again, Mr. Schultz is NOT the Independent Party’s candidate either.

So, I think it’s safe to say this ‘Centrist Independent’ COULD be a mix of the two principles. But, we also have to factor in Mr. Schultz has been a Democrat for many years.

I think you’ll understand why I wanted you to have some context before I show you what I found about Schultz’s education stance.

Where was his education stance ‘hiding’? It wasn’t in his pillars. No, it can be found in the “Howard’s Story” page on the website. I’ll admit the video has a catchy tune, there are bright colors and smiling faces. It’s all designed to ‘build you up’.

Warriors, if you didn’t know it, ASU has been involved with some pretty horrid things for K-12th grade education. Back in 2016, I wrote about their part in a YouTube Red Channel movie called “The Thinning”. It was all about students literally dying or someone they loved die if a certain score wasn’t made on the standardized test.

If you didn’t see it, I also wrote about Starbucks and the PBIS system.

Warriors, if you use Netflix and have seen “Generation Startup” that’s the feature film about what VFA does. Jobs/economic for the community’s sake. While that’s good, the tag line for the movie has to do with ‘learning to fail’. That’s a key concept the CCSS Machine loves to use. By the way, Netflix is among the CCSS Machine members/groups seeking to destroy local control.

So, you know a bit about the company Yang founded. Let’s look at his 2020 Presidential campaign.

Warriors, if you read “Andrew’s Story”, he’ll tell you he was raised to go after the American Dream. You’ll learn his ties to Brown Univ. as well as Columbia Univ. (Both universities are CCSS Machine member organizations. In Part 4, I shared both their ties to the Tavistock Inst.)

Warrior/Citizen Actions:

Well, Warriors, we’ve done it, taken 5 articles to lay out education/educratic stances of the 20 candidates (and possible candidates) running for President in 2020. As you know the campaigns are on-going. As you know, they will only step up in appearances.

So, what DO we do with all the information I’ve given you? Yes, it’s been grueling to slog through all their websites (or lack of), but the reason I wanted to do this for the nation, especially you, my fellow Warriors, is we HAVE to make as much noise as possible!

I told you in Part One I wouldn’t tell you whom to vote for. However, whomever you see you most like among the 20, do this:

1) Attend as many meetings of his or hers as possible. Forget party allegiance, the politicians certainly have. Is this risky? Absolutely, BUT, gladly risk your comfort zone for the children, I am. So can you. Don’t develop tunnel vision, watch for debates, shows, etc. Listen to what’s said (or not said).
2) We all know in war (War Vs the Core) you have to hang out with the enemy from time to time. Just be prudent and don’t go alone. Whatever you do, be respectful, there is going to be enough strife. If you are rude in making your points, you’ll be discounted. Remember, these are people, not punching bags (words or fists).
3) Take the points about the candidates which trouble you the most and speak out! Steer the conversation, don’t give up! (Written ones are the best and provide a copy with facts and links to point to Anti Fed Ed truths.)
4) Write open letters, letters to the editor, call in to like minded radio shows, no matter how big or small. Request private media shows centered around these Anti Fed Ed truths the nation needs to know and hear. Make your own video and share.
5) Speak up, hold them accountable! That is part of a prudent voter/Warrior’s ‘job’.
6) Write to them, show them the roots to the agenda, the globalization of our nation via education, let them know, it’s unconstitutional, it’s criminal and they shouldn’t be a part of it!
7) Don’t kowtow or get star struck by these candidates, don’t worry about making a scene. Remember who you are fighting for: our kids, our young people, our freedoms, our choices.
8) Pepper their websites with Anti Fed Ed truth, not mainstream subjective BS.
9) Participate in citizen forums, round-table discussions. If you didn’t know what you know now, think about all those around you who will remain clueless, unless you speak up. Use your circle of influence. Stay in communication. Host ‘Did Ya Know?’ type neighborhood events. While we’re about serious business, we can have some fun, too.
Use this type of event to bring to light the candidates on education. Compare notes and discuss maturely.

(Think along the lines of “Horton Hears a Who”, ALL our voices, united against the CCSS Machine is imperative!)

What if you don’t like any of the 20 candidates?
1) Choose the one most closely related to your beliefs and WORK with them to bring them around to the truth.
2) These people MUST be reminded they are seeking to represent WE the People, not the special interests groups, lobbyists, or Big Corporations.
3) If the candidate isn’t willing to work with you or accept the truth, then you know they are ‘bought and paid for’ by the CCSS Machine and move on.
4) IF you find that out, share the news, so others will know. It’s better to be called an idiot for being right than a silent partner in the grinding down of American education.
5) Apply any of the other action steps above you desire.
6) Inform and ‘use’ your circle of influence. Provide updates for them.

As of this article, I can find no Republican Debate schedule. Back in 2018, the National Republican Committee voted to disband the Debate organizers and team. That doesn’t mean there may be no debates, but it means we need to be watching for them.

I did find this website, which has both the Ds and Rs information in one location. Use at your discretion.

Use the Commission on Presidential Debates for news updates. I’ve embedded the link to their Debate Applicant locations. (*Note: no 2019 or 2020 sponsors have been announced, but look at previous sponsors. Are there CCSS Machine member groups represented? If so urge a non-bias organization to step up.) You can also access previous Debate transcripts. These might be helpful in writing your letters.

The location for the Republican National Convention is Charlotte, NC.
The location for the Democratic National Convention is Milwaukee, WI.
(*Note: Are there any Warriors near either of these cities? If so, we should plan to meet somewhere. I live in NC, and, it just so happens not too far from Charlotte. I’d love to see a group near Milwaukee, too. We could do live presentations or updates.) 


The Democrats will conduct their Convention in July 2020.

A Shiny New Coat

Anti Fed Ed Warriors, we all know the story of the “Emperor’s New Clothes”, right?
Basic themes in the story are vanity, money, and deception.

Those same basic themes can pretty much sum up the educratic shift in our classrooms across the globe. Here in America, we’ve definitely seen the greed and deception take our academics away and replace it with workforce training.

So, what happens when you take a CCSS Machine member group like IBM, attach a shiny new coat of deception to education and add it to a notoriously bad on-line school? 

A slick sales pitch with a hidden agenda attached!

The “New Collar” Is Still A Servant’s Collar:

Warriors, IBM’s CEO, back in 2016, came up with a new phrase for the same old CCSS Machine alignment: “new collar jobs”. Below is her opinion column in USA Today:

Part of the CEO’s plan for ‘new collar jobs’? P-Tech Schools (I exposed them years ago). These schools are 6 year high schools which focus on industry skills at a ‘community college’ level.

Community colleges have been called ‘Camelot’ (by the CCSS Machine) for their access to all school choices intersecting and the ability to carry on (or introduce) CTE, Career Tech Education, CCs (Career Clusters), CPs (Career Pathways), STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and, Math), dual enrollment, and, concurrent enrollment.

IBM, late 2018, announced that Ireland became the first country outside of the US, to adopt P-Tech. Notice how IBM is taking credit, as well as using ‘local educators’ as the creators.

Warriors, IBM’s CEO is an appointed member of the new National Council for the American Worker (aka: National Workforce Council), here in the US.

K-12, Inc., A Long Time CCSS  Machine Member Group:

Warriors, back in 2015, I showed you how K-12, Inc. was in the CCSS Machine, as well as in co-operation with the NASBE (National Association for State Boards of Education). If you followed me back then, you also know I shared with you the struggle NC (where I live) had with keeping K-12, Inc’s. terrible track record out of the State, only to allow it in the end, as a school choice. Then, there was the overreach by K-12, Inc. into homeschooling. If you read their recent “Student Impact” report, you’ll see lots of hype about increased student engagement.

So, with such an awful past, why is K-12, Inc. still in the ‘education’ business? Look below for one reason why:

The goal for K-12, Inc. NOW, is to be a part of building a national career readiness infrastructure. One of the ways this will happen, is ‘the right education’, not “more education”.

How will the K-12, Inc. folks know they’ve helped close the ‘skills gap’ (another CCSS Machine fallacy)? By sending “K-12 powered” students into the workforce.

As far as the partnerships K-12, Inc. is building to have all the career readiness infrastructure take off? A direct quote, “To do this, we are aligning with higher education institutions, school districts, and industry partners to offer career training. We are working to pair this training with summer jobs, externships*, paid internships, drop-in training, and part-time and full-time employment opportunities.”
(*Note: ‘externship’ is a temporary training period.)
Be sure to notice which ‘top companies’ K-12, Inc. mentions to work for in the article linked above.

In that article, Georgetown University’s Center on Education and the Workforce was cited. I showed you last year (2018) how Georgetown was assaulting real education with quasi-education.

The Report the Center on Ed/Workforce has published (which K-12, Inc. is basing their infrastructure plan off of) doesn’t state ‘Hey, we’ve got a few suggestions.’ It clearly states their findings are ‘requirements’. Among those ‘requirements’? STEM jobs!

Warriors, below is WHY Georgetown University is so biased about an educated workforce:

If you cannot read the print, Lumina Foundation, Joyce Foundation, and, the Gates Foundation are the main funders of the Georgetown Center on Education for the Workforce.

So, if you’re going to change the national infrastructure to career readiness, these are a few of the groups which will be involved.

The Career Readiness Partner Council:

Warriors, if you’ve not heard of this Council, it’s been around since 2012. Housed in the Advance CTE National Association (a huge CCSS Machine group). The list of Council members is long. You’ll see all of them are CCSS Machine members, too.

CEP (Center for Education Policy):

Warriors, this CCSS Machine member group has published many CCR (College/Career Readiness) documents. Most are geared for one goal: 21st competency skills graduates.

JFF (Jobs for the Future):

Warriors, be sure to look at their “Opportunity Works” program for workforce readiness.

National Informal STEM Network:

Warriors, this Arizona State University and Univ. of MN backed on-line group, have all sorts of STEM activities (which are CCR dressed as fun)

CCREC (College and Career Readiness Evaluation Consortium):

Warriors, this group works with certain States and those States GEAR UP grants.
GEAR UP
is a federal program which is 100% workforce based. It uses STEM, CCR, CCSS, and, CTE. The Consortium also partners with Act, Inc. and is a heavy student data collector.

NCPN (National Career Pathways Network):

Warriors, be sure to read their “Items of Interest” section. You’ll see CTE and STEM promoted. You’ll also see the IBM ‘open collar’ article. You’ll want to read about the German based ‘vocational dual training system’, too. (*Note: among the top items of the German study, are economic goals, social goals, and, personal goals.)

Warriors, don’t forget to change an infrastructure you have to have legislation. So Congress is an obvious CCSS Machine group to watch in all this.

Don’t forget, all the job websites (like Monster and Indeed, etc.) will have career readiness or career assessments. Our federal government gives States grants for One-Stop Job/Employment Centers. These will be huge CCR locations.

Closing:

Warriors, the last place we will need to watch for ‘infrastructure’ changes in education is the HEA (Higher Education Act) as it is readied to become re-authorized. I have shown you over the years, how the HEA is the last link in the cradle to grave workforce education chain. Career Readiness will be a huge part of the new version.

Believe me, the educratic emperors will be strutting all over the nation with THAT shiny new coat of deception.

Do You Know This GA?

Sure, we Anti CCSS/Fed Ed Warriors know there are General Assemblies of all kinds. We have them in our communities, our legislatures, and even global ones. But, did you know there is a CCSS Machine ‘General Assembly’ group?

How I Found Them:

As an avid researcher, it is easy to find one group when investigating another group. Add in an educational topic, and the groups appear to be not only tied at the hip, but plentiful.
My latest ‘connect the dots’ findings come from when I was looking into WhiteBoard Advisors and found General Assembly, a Global Educational Group.

In case you missed my Weekend News, my third point in the publication was to point you to the WhiteBoard Advisors and their May 2016 Education Insiders Report. I noticed in several instances on the W/A (as they refer to themselves) website, General Assembly was brought up. Thinking it meant that the W/A had a General Assembly (GA), I tried to find out who serves on it. However, what I found instead was the linkage between the two separate groups. All in the name of education reform, to boot! While there will be plenty to share about W/A in the near future, I will be using the rest of my Monday Musings to look at the General Assembly Educational Group.

The General Assembly:

What in the Report is of note?
1) Former Governor for NC, Bev Purdue (also a Senior Advisor for W/A) wrote the Forward in the Report. Bev Purdue, is a ‘card carrying member’ of the CCSS Machine. (*Note: her company DigiLearn is proof.)
2) The Report is from 2015.
3) It gives a ‘Top Ten’ list of policy making considerations to boost state and local economies via skill based education.
4) Both authors (DeSchryver and Kelly) are tied to other CCSS Machine member organizations. Kelly is tied to the Gates Foundation funded Education Week; DeSchryver has been in the thick of education reform since the NCLB (No Child Left Behind) days.
5) The Report falsely carries the notion of the ‘skills gap’ (*Note: I have shared documented evidence with you in the past that the skills gap is narrative of panic the CCSS Machine is using to further their involvement of workforce based, P3 (public private partnership) driven education.)
6) Cities are giving grants to GA to come and operate there. An example is New York City and can be seen on page 6. (A related NYC article: http://www.businessinsider.com/hustle-con-presentations-on-startups-from-nerdwallet-teespring-general-assembly-thirdlove-2015-4)
7) The Report details how GA is helping transform America’s economy.
8) GA is working with an official from the  U.S. Dept. of Ed to help accelerate learning.
9) The Report details how all this will be regulated in various States. Usually either the Workforce Training or the Higher Education Committees.
10) Employers are expected to not only be clear about their workforce needs, but to help in the credentialing process for education.
Lastly, of the Top Ten priorities for state and local policy makers? Outcomes! Not true education, but outcomes of our students…of all ages!

What organizations have invested in GA? In 2014, the following:

More Nebulous Connections:

From the list above, you may (or may not) see any further CCSS Machine connections. However, there are a couple which really stand out to me, GSV Capital and Rethink Education. In a short sentence, GSV is tied to the CCSS Machine through investments.

In this article, I showed you the ‘GSV’ in GSV Capital stands for Global Silicon Valley. The Capital’s goal? Re-imagining education…we are talking well-known heavy hitting big name CCSS Machine members are involved; we’re looking at least $4 trillion dollars in the global education market, Warriors! We are also looking at how this group wants to eliminate school boards in the process. Tying them back to the W/A group is WhiteBoard Advisor co-founder, Jake Schwartz.(*Note: he can be found among the Rethink Education Portfolio Investors.)

Also among the Rethink Education folks, is Tom Segal, one of the co-founders. He is regularly featured on EdSurge (another CCSS Machine member). Tom also posts blog entries on the Rethink Education website. His entry about the beginning of Rethink is worth noting. Why? Both co-founders have a long history of ties to CCSS Machine connected entities, like Head Start and CUNY (NY). I have tied both of these back to the Machine in previous articles. As far as EdSurge’s ties: One of the Board members represents GSV Capital!

Closing:
Warriors, do you see the nebulous ties above? It is insane how these groups are so closely in-bred. Not only are we having to fight the federal and state levels of government over Common Core and all that goes with it, but we have a plethora of private groups strangling our voices! Our governments and our schools should NOT have ANY private investors except the parents! By this, I am not talking investing money, but parents investing with their hearts because they are simply trying to do the best for their students. ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act), WIOA (Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act), and the HEA (Higher Education Act) mock us. The P3s mock us. The CCSS Machine not only mocks us, but is doing its best to silence us!

Credentialed Transcripts?

The modern education transformation is treating our students like blocks of ‘stackable credentials’, not humans!

‘Tech Thursday’ is the day I usually focus on the overreach in education to the post-secondary level. Today is no exception. If you have followed me for a while, you know I have consistently laid out the evidence and resources so you can follow the CCSS Machine’s march from high school and beyond.

So what can I share with you today?  A look inside the transcripts-turned-credentials for our students under the guise of quality education.

 

Parchment Transcript Services (PTS):

I first heard of PTS, from a dedicated anti CCSS Warrior who is doing much work to protect student data. We know how much is collected, shared, sold, and used against our students, so naturally finding a school (or State) which uses PTS is worth knowing more about.

Did you notice how hidden in plain sight the data mining is? Did you see who shares it, has access to it? Did you notice the use of the fallacy tactic known as ‘Bandwagon’? (bandwagon is where you are enticing to do what everyone else is doing so you don’t miss out) Something tells me there is much more to find out about!

CEO, Dr. Matthew Pittinsky is certainly connected to the CCSS Machine. How can I know this before we even go any further? How the Service Works on a Local Level:

From the parent of a Senior (Class of 2016), this personal account. “Seniors are required to state what college or university they will attend. All final transcripts will be sent electronically through Parchment. You must sign up via their website before graduation. After graduation, you will be charged $8.50 per transcript. My student must contact their Career Center Counselor/Office for more information.” This parent goes on to share that the Parchment presence in school is a school district promoted decision. Supposedly the only data collected isn’t too personal, but we Warriors know ANY data about our students is up for grabs! Parchment’s service also has you answer on-line questions for specific schools you might want to attend to see IF you can become a qualified applicant.

What I found out about the transcripts is that each is given a unique code (DID or Document Identity Number). For students to access or verify if their information has been transmitted or received, they must use that DID. Hmm.. think UID (Unique Identifier Number) currently used for all those assessments your students think. We have evidence how ‘secure’ those are! Parchment’s latest Press Release shares more about the data collection/sharing. This particular Release details the State of Georgia’s partnership:
Parchment, a leading academic credential management service, works with more than 65 high schools and 72 college admissions offices across Georgia to create a robust network that helps to simplify the college application process for Georgia learners. By delivering and processing electronic credentials with Parchment, member schools are breaking down barriers in the college access process. For more than a decade, Parchment has worked with high schools and colleges across the United States to aid in the application process, making academic credentials, like high school transcripts, digital, often resulting in more timely admissions decisions. Schools in Georgia have already begun to improve efficiencies, provide transparency to learners and reduce overall costs by partnering with Parchment, following the success many other states have long used to their advantage. In 2015, Georgia high schools relied on Parchment to exchange more than 41,000 digital credentials, an increase of 48 percent over the previous year. Parchment has enabled our students and parents to expedite the college application process by sending transcripts electronically to almost any school across the nation,” said Tessa Barbazon, Coordinator, Office of School Counseling with Fulton County School District. “In addition, the tracking tools available to students through Parchment fill a gap in communication that can exist when less advanced services are utilized.” The Fulton County School District is comprised of 18 high schools with 94,000 students.” (see the entire Press Release: http://www.parchment.com/press-releases/parchment-provides-georgia-students-with-improved-college-access/)

While all looks secure, there are a few things to note: 
1) Parchment sends you information they think you want based on how you answered those qualifying questions.
2) Data is shared with ANY partner or group designated as an Academic Institution. While this may look like it means schools, remember the ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act) and the current version of the HEA (Higher Education Act) include the academic institutions in a much broader context. (*Note: the current HEA even embeds the use of Digital Promise as the  data collection method on all students. Also, the ESSA has Digital Promise funding INCREASED embedded in the language.)
3) Note the Asset Transfer clause. Even your parents information about finances is up for all to see (or at least whomever Parchment deems worthy of knowing.)

 

 Closing:

I thank the parent who shared their story. Our anti CCSS War Against the Core, is made so much stronger when these brave men and women speak up. I hope this information has caused you to question much when it comes to the transformed high school to post-secondary school state we find ourselves in. While we must champion our students data (and ours as well). we must investigate every company we can. Since it appears the school districts are promoting and choosing this, make sure you let your district know your concerns!

From the Files Tuesday: Down in the Valley

Have you ever heard of GSV? I know the company’s heard of you. How? GSV stands for “Global Silicon Valley”. Just what does GSV have to do with education, especially Common Core Standards?! I’m glad you are curious!

GSV (Global Silicon Valley) Advisors:
This body of advisors helps education ‘entrepreneurs’  and growth companies connect. In fact, here’s an excerpt from their website:
“A key part of our mission is to reimagine what education is—with a bias toward innovators, entrepreneurs, investors, and others who look at learning differently.” (source: http://gsvadvisors.com/company/) GSV Adivsors are also partners with Arizona State University . GSV Advisors are affiliated with ASCD (A Gates Foundation funded curriculum resource for educators), with Jeb Bush’s Foundation for Excellence in Education, among some other pro CC heavy hitters. The group is advocates for (you might want a drum roll sound, here) Teach for America, KIPP, Center for Education Reform among some other non-profits. In case you forgot or aren’t old enough to know this, Silicon Valley is home to Google, Cisco, Apple and others. In other words a mega hub of digital power. Hardly new to the education/corporate mix, GSV Advisors have been ‘at it’ about 20 years and helped create quite an impressive resume of holdings (among them & known CCS aligned; K-12, Inc., Leap Frog). See the long list & note the amount of money (http://gsvadvisors.com/experience/) A point the group likes to ‘brag about’, “focused on the Megatrends that are disrupting the $4 trillion global education market along with the innovators who are transforming the industry.” Well, at least we know with what brush they paint the educational landscape with. You can download a free copy of the PDF, but you must register to receive it. Simply visit the website and click on the screen with the white paper’s name as is scrolls by in the header. This report from July 2012 is certainly eye opening as to the motivation for education. In my opinion, it hardly appears it’s for the betterment of our students. You might especially enjoy their phrase, “Pre K to Gray”. Their executive summary includes an Education ROE, or ‘return on investment’. Not sure how you feel, but that’s hardly encouraging to the parents struggling with a student who has Common Core thrust upon them. From Pearson exec, CEO K12 Technology, Jonathan Harber, “In K-12, it is about achieving scale – scale is the most important reform. Anything that creates a real market rather than undermining it is the most transformative change that can be done.”  There are all kinds of other charts, graphs in the free report that are great for illustrating just how much money corporations have either sunk into education or see the potential to invest. Remember, this report is now a couple of years old. {from my researching background, this is a key piece of evidence in the fight against public, private partnerships in education}.

So, just how much data does GSV have on education?:

Global/USA market sizes (including testing & assessing, Global/USA literacy rates, PISA scores, the top global post secondary schools, the structure of public education in America, stats on private, charter, home schools in America, SAT data scores, post secondary stats, distance learning information & market for growth, for profit education industry leaders. Why all the figures? If you’re planning billions of dollars in return on your investment, you’d better have your facts, figures and forecasts to live by.

“Big, Hairy, Audacious  Goals”(BHAGs):

From the July 4, 2012 GSV Asset Management White Paper, “American Revolution 2.0”  {another gold mine of strategy & information worth downloading} I find the white paper quite disrespectful in nature, to not only our teachers and students, but to all Americans. When you view the resource, I’d be interested in your take on the overall impression you get. This paper lays out a 15 year battle plan to transform American education. Vernacular includes ‘battle plan, strategic partners, special op forces, etc.’. Topping the 15 year BHAG list?! Common Core Standards! Here’s a direct quote of how they wrote it, “To start, we adopt the Common Core in all 50 states and create incentives for innovators to develop disruptive, high-impact content. ”

Other goals include ditching certain current terminology in favor of phrases not so well known, universal preK, tax incentives, open scoring, more STEM, more Teach for America, revamp NCLB and make it work, computer coding would be mandatory and a considered a language, professors from other countries steeped in STEM given permanent residence in the USA, establish an education cheerleading squad lead by the US President and the media treating any international academic achievement as an Olympic-like competition, virtual credits earned wallets, open educational standards, eliminate local school boards, create an even more entrenched P3 system in school board’s place & create ‘education companies’, ditch the traditional school calendars. What can we do?:

1) Spread the knowledge to begin with. Look at every company involved in the ‘special ops forces’. Find out more about them.

2) Depending on where the companies are, begin contacting them & expressing your views about how this Common Core laden battle plan is not the solution.

3) If you have a company or a corporation near you which is a P3 and heavily invested in your schools, work together to rid your schools of their influence. P3s, are NOT interested in your students education. Their ROE (return on investment) is their #1 goal. P3s are not educators and have run the education system amuck with treating schools as business models.

4) Work with your elected or appointed school board members, local and state politicians. Do they know about this massive effort to reinvent American education? What are their views about this? How does this type of strategy mock the U.S. Constitution or the state level Constitution? FIGHT BACK! No, we don’t have billions of dollars to make, but we DO have STUDENTS worth SAVING!
