Anti Fed Ed Warriors, in my last article I shared with you the Senate Resolution which has set aside September 2019 as “Workforce Development Month”. If you’re not sure why or how this connects to your students, I am sharing it, here.
Our government has bought into the belief that a skill based worker is more valuable than a free thinking citizen. Warriors, it’s not simply at the federal level either. Recently, I attended a city meeting to voice concerns over another issue. To my surprise, a county leader from the Chamber of Commerce got up, at the mayor’s request and starting sharing data figures on how well the advertising of our area has been in the past month. During this presentation, it was stated that ‘workforce education is the wave of the future.’ Why wasn’t I horrified? Well, the Chamber of Commerce at the county level is tied to the Chamber at a State level. That State level is, and has been, paid to promote this mindset from the National level Chamber of Commerce. Warriors, back in 2015, I shared with you how this chain of workforce (indentured servitude) got started. I also shared that NC’s Chamber was delighted to have a ‘talent supply pipeline’ for workforce education. Isn’t that a tremendous way to refer to humans?
Common Core’s famous for stating it can have our students ‘college ready’, now it claims ‘career ready’, too.
Earlier this year, I exposed how much ‘progress’ has been made in America to continue the shifting of academic education to the global workforce mantra. The CCSS Machine has spun it in one word “Competent”. If you think our education needs to be more European, you’re in luck. America’s education system is already European. So much so, we lack very little to seeing history repeat itself via oppression of the citizens at the mercy of the government. If you doubt this can happen, scroll back up and look at the picture. It’s from the past, not a made up story.
So, Where Did Work And Education First “Meet”?
Warriors, here in the US, I traced it back to the 1950s. Since then, workforce based education was called ‘vocational education’. Now before you accuse me of being ‘anti job’, consider this, it’s the CCSS Machine which has ruined not only academic education, but vocational education as well! As I’ve shared before, ‘vocational education’ was rebranded “CTE, Career Technical Education”. Under CTE, you get ‘adult Common Core’. Under CTE you also get the direction connection to the UN’s STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and, Math) which is 100% workforce education.
Most think Common Core (or its rebrand, “College and Career Ready”) END at 12th grade.
Hardly. The UN (United Nations), the ILO (International Labor Organization), and scores of other related groups meant ‘lifelong learning’ to be an endless track of some form of training. It’s where ‘cradle to grave’ came from, too.
A key member of the ILO? The U.S. Dept.of Labor. Below, you can see that the workforce needed is health and technology. Both these fields are in CTE and STEM.
If you’ve not seen the ‘Adult Common Core Standards‘, I found them back in 2014. Most folks, if they believe the truth that Common Core goes well beyond 12th grade, may not know that these ‘standards’ don’t add on to where 12th grade left off. No, these ‘standards’ begin on a 2nd grade level. Why? The reasoning (then) was that it would be impossible to have adult education be at an adult level, when not every adult finished their education up to 12th grade. Of the ‘standards’ which go beyond 2nd grade, they end somewhere before the end of 12th grade.
Warriors, the reality in 2019, is that ‘grades’ and ‘grade levels’ are disappearing. What’s replacing them? How will we know that Johnny and Suzy are ready to graduate? Competency and Proficiency in mastering skills. This is part of the global education/workforce system.
Warriors, don’t think the support for workforce education is simply a one political party pony. Nothing could be more false. BOTH major political parties, and all the other minor parties, have embraced the global shift in education. This press release from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce details how the TrumpcreatedNational Workforce Council backs up the ObamaeraWIOA (Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act) and ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act) shift away from academics to workforce.
From the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s website, you can see how they feel about workforce education. In fact, if we all want to go to D.C. in October, we can hear workforce education experts discuss the ‘future of talent’ and the ‘future of work’. So, will we see that skill based education will be rebranded ‘talent based education’?
Are there other US groups chomping at the bit for workforce education? Plenty. This group has ties to another former President (Bush). You can find that tie in the article above highlighted by ‘plenty’.
Warriors, in the first article of this series, I showed you the 116th Senatorial nod to devoting an entire month to workforce development. In this article, I hope you’ve seen a few of the past strings which are now chaining us to a workforce future. In my next article, I’ll share the U.S. Dept. of Labor’s latest on uniting education to skills. Or, should I use the new educratic term ‘talents’?
Anti Fed Ed Warriors, I know that we have heard SO many educratic lies about schools in America, we could scream.
Wednesday night (9/6/17) I was the honored guest on Women on the Wall’sweekly anti CCSS Machinecall. To say it was an easy topic, would be a lie. It wasn’t, in fact, I stumbled through quite a bit. Not because I wasn’t prepared, I was so upset about what is happening!
What was the topic? The upcoming broadcast of the EIF/Project XQ’s “Super School Live”. It’s set for 9/8/17 and is to be aired on ABC, CBS, Fox, and NBC. I urge you to listen to the archived version (above). You’ll need to have a pen and paper (or whatever you use to take notes) handy.
If you don’t have time to listen to the archive, let me state as concisely as I can that the ‘teamwork agenda’ surrounding the broadcast is marketing lies to justify making over American education, especially at the high school level. (*Note: the announcement for the Call had the archived links to my researched published articles you may wish to access for the evidence showing the lies and deception.)
In a ‘jiffy’, you can access the 2006 “Redesigning High School” Report : Reinventing_American_High_School
(*This Report is by the Association for Career and Technical Education, or ACTE) Later in this article we will revisit what the latest from ACTE is.
This effort is NOT new. It’s NOT USA born or created, either. It’s sick and it’s twisted. The ‘teamwork agenda’ in spreading the marketing lies about education is set to one goal: weak-minded citizens trained for boosting the economy. To find out how you can connect it all together, please listen to the archived call.
Warriors, here’s the entire You Tube video which was discussed at length during the Women on the Wall Call. I only discussed roughly the first 20 minutes of the almost 1 hour and 20 minutes.
More Teamwork Agenda Marketing Lies:
Warriors, what you see below is from my Common Core Diva Facebook page. I posted this as a sort of follow up to last night’s announcement about the Women on the Wall call and the marketing lies in education.
Here are my comments which lead up to the screen shot: “Mike Rowe’s first words are, ” In Germany..” Mr. Rowe has also been used as a puppet for Congress in their push to embed MORE CBE and CTE (Career Tech Ed, which is adult Common Core). As far as the school mentioned? My husband’s place of employment. More marketing lies to justify the workforce based shift in education as well as treating humans as commodities, not blessings.”
(*Hear him in the video. ***Warning! The ATTN: video does contain a blasphemous use of the Lord’s name.***)
If you do not know “The ATTN:” social media site, it’s a site where anything from the headlines is used to catch your eye. According to their website, ‘compelling issue-driven content’. In other words: a marketing strategy used to inflate issues.
Warriors, how do I know the false marketing about an educated workforce is ripe in America? Look at the blow-back from my post on the CC Diva Facebook page:
Followed by another person who has obviously woken up to the marketing lies:
This was followed by my rebuttal points:
Warriors, then check out the next person who decided to agree with the disagreeable person who spoke first. You’ll also see my reply to them:
Warriors, here’s a sampling of the other videos Mike Rowe has appeared in to push the teamwork agenda and marketing lies:
My research connecting the Congressional ‘love’ for such a celebrity and his ‘star power’ to push an agenda which supports the CCSS Machine was published back in earlyMarch 2017. (Please make sure you read the comment by Patriot Mongoose. The links provided by the Patriot are necessary to further help expose the marketing lies about ‘skills gap shortages’)
1) Congress’s devotion to CTE (Career Tech Education) from 2016’s session. If you want to see some of the same devotion in the early part of the 2017 session, find that here.
2) My open memo to CTE Teachers and Leaders everywhere is one we need to re-visit now that school has begun.
3) The current VP (Vice President) is a CTE believer and backer. This is huge in the current landscape of education.
4) A skills gap myth-busting article of mine, also from 2016.
Archived Rowe CTE Marketing Teamwork Agenda Lies:
Warriors, you can access The 74 article here. If you do not have the time to read the article, here’s what is the most important. Mr. Rowe has testified 2 other times before.
1) Rowe is a long-time CTE advocate.
2) Two of his tweets about CTE are seen on the right hand side of the article. One even plays up “Make America Great Again”.
3) Rowe testified in 2011 and 2014. The purpose? A marketing makeover for CTE.
4) The 74 is a pro CCSS Machine member organization, so their spin on Rowe’s activity for CTE. Of course, here, on my blog, you’ll find there is no spin, only the researched facts behind the marketing lies.
NC’s Spin for Teamwork Agenda:
Warriors, earlier in this article, I said we’d revisit the ACTE. Why? One of the latest headlines is about the wonderful news of NC’s CTE unifying with this national organization.
If that doesn’t mean much, consider the screen shot (near the beginning of this article) from NASCAR Technical Institute promoting Mike Rowe. NASCAR Tech is in NC! (It’s a branch school of the AZ based corporation.)
In NC, CTE offices are housed in the NC DPI (North Carolina Dept. of Public Instruction) for K-12th grades. In post-secondary education, the NC Board of Governors oversees it. Factor in the NC Dept. of Labor, as well.
Warriors, remember, because of the unifying forces behind the U.S. Dept. of Education and the U.S. Dept. of Labor, we have data tracking expressly FOR aligning careers to academics!
Let’s also consider that CTE is embedded in job seeking assessments used by those one-stop career centers or job application sites as part of your State government. You’ll find CTE in those skill based apprenticeships, too.
Warriors, I want to show you one more way the marketing hype has been used against us.
Here in my town, we’re seeing a 2014 bond (was placed on the ballot for citizens to vote on) come to fruition in the form of a ‘renovated’ city high school.
The money poured into the ad campaign for the renovation was plenty. The write-ups in the local news sources were also quite numerous. The bumper stickers and T-shirts all encouraged folks to vote ‘yes’ for the Bond, because if you didn’t, you somehow were being non-supportive and a terrible person. As part of the Bond package, new spaces for CTE were planned on. Guess what? They’ve been built. There’s even a Career Bridge Council to help utilize the teamwork agenda built on education lies.
Warriors, we MUST continue to expose these team driven marketing lies about education! To do any less is simply unacceptable!
In today’s ‘From the File Tuesday’, I will show you, the anti CCSS Warriors, those against federal overreach into their homes, and others where in the ESSA the impacts will be felt, how they will take place, and why you should tell everyone you know that ESSA will ensnare every student from birth to career!
First, A Bit of Background:
If you are new to the War Against the Core, you may wish to use the below articles as vital information for just HOW private education has been impacted by the CCSS Machine. If you have followed my research, you are familiar with the information, but you can still use it to help lay out a clear picture for those who need to know.
1) Common Core (CCSS)/Career Tech Education (CTE) beyond high school will impact EVERYONE regardless of where their birth to 12th grade education took place. Embedded in this article, the Adult CC Standards. This article will show you how Perkins Funding, Title 9, IDEA funding, (each of which are embedded in the ESSA now.) It will show you Apprenticeship Programs and how they are full of CCSS/CTE, the National Career Pathway Network, and more!
3) How other Private Schools and Home Schools, along with their extra-curricular activities are aligned to CCSS (ESSA will no doubt continue this trend.) and CTE: https://commoncorediva.wordpress.com/2015/01/31/fom-christian-schools-and-common-core/ 4) Think CCSS/CTE are not in post-secondary Private education? See this eye-opener article: https://commoncorediva.wordpress.com/2014/12/05/fom-friday-christian-colleges-exempt-from-common-core-not/ 5) This article gives you 18 different overseeing organizations for Private Education (some extend to home education) and their alignment to CCSS/CTE! See: https://commoncorediva.wordpress.com/2015/04/18/sic-em-saturday-grab-a-cape-ccss-warriors/ 5b) Private schools use assessments! ESSA will increase assessments and also contain many strings to those assessments. SBAC and PARCC are not the only high-stakes assessments to steer clear of! See: https://commoncorediva.wordpress.com/2014/11/15/sic-em-saturday-when-your-faith-based-school-uses-ccss-assessments/
So Where in the ESSA are the Alignment Concerns for Private Education, Including Home Education?
Below, page numbers, as based on the 1, 059 page ESSA Final Conference Report. You can also find each one of these mandates in the ESSA Final Law Version (391 pages). However, the page numbers will be different.
From my ‘School Board Special, Part 3‘:
“1) P. 33,LEAs (Local Education Agencies) and state financial awards. You need to see what percentages of the funding goes for a) the parents, 1b) the student services, and c) the students courses (including AP (Advanced Placement Courses, IB (International Baccalaureate Schools, and CTE), but you will need to read how all of these are to be aligned to the CSAS (Challenging State Academic Standards) by way of the ‘industry recognized credentialing system’ set forth by the WIOA (Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act) of 2014! 2) P. 48, States that the CSAS and post-secondary education must be aligned for a more streamlined education. 3) P. 50, Special needs students who have benefited from IDEA funding/programs and seek higher education ‘on track with alternative aligned courses/assessments’. 4) P. 85,States are to measure and report students ‘post secondary readiness’. 5) P. 121,Those students in dual enrolled courses (AP, IB, early college, etc.) will be ensnared here.Including faith-based and homeschool students to be aligned. (Also on P. 991) 5a) P. 123,The data mining of these privately educated students comes into play. 6) P. 137,The LEAs determine how students transition from one grade group to the next (including post-secondary) with the help of P3s (Public Private Partnerships) and ‘other stakeholders in education’. 7) P. 323, How all school leaders, including teachers will be trained to teach students for post secondary education, especially dual enrolled, concurrent enrolled, and early college students. (also on P. 780, 81) 8) P. 344, How teachers are to prepare post secondary/workforce ready students. Related: P. 325, how all the post secondary course from above will be regionally specific only.”
From my‘Great Education Experiment’ article, theseESSA Final Conference Reportpage numbers and how they will intercept private education, including home school students:
“Page 121 applies dual/concurrent enrollment to IB and AP courses (International Baccalaureate and Advanced Placement). Page 137 applies dual/concurrent enrollment to identifying student interests/skills. Also, Pages 167, 173, 186, 303, and 306 Page 323 will apply dual/concurrent to teachers. Page 343 shows the phrase used for gifted students. Page 395, more school leadership via the LEAs (Local Education Agency). Page 427 is for the English language learners (ELLs). Page 460, finds dual/concurrent enrollment for underrepresented students (and includes improving student engagement). You will need to read from mid page 459 for context purposes). On page 464, on-line courses, especially those for CTE (Career Technical Education).
Page 476 uses the phrase to define STEM curriculum, classes, courses, and exams (aka: assessments). Page 780 will use the phrase for defining the partnerships which must be in place to satisfy the dual or concurrent enrollment.”

IDEA Funding references can be found in the page numbers from ‘School Board, Part 3’.
From my article‘Fed Ed 2017, Are You Ready?’, these sections will impact home education from the family aspect, the most: “Sections 4001-4206 will address 21st Century Community Learning Centers (where a large portion of the Title One funds will be used) Sections 4301-4311 will address the Charters Schools Sections 4401-4409 detail Magnet Schools Sections 4501-4506 address Family Engagement in Education Section 4601- 4611 detail National Activities in Education Section 9212 is all about Preschool development grants Pages 120, 166, 170, 184, 252, 254, 341, 364, 365, 439, 626 all deal with either other details of PreK programs or how the family will be involved in them as well.”
21st Century Community Learning Centers, Promise Neighborhoods, Family Assessments, and more will also be encroaching on Private Schools and Home Schools. How? By the “Wrap Around Student Services” and “Activities for Student Success”. These will be heavy on data mining, SEL (Social Emotional Learning), will usurp Parental rights in most cases, and seek to align entire communities to a birth to career streamline. (see above)
Page numbers from ESSA to find these need-to-know items:
“Data (and all that goes with it), Technology, and the In Home Assessments: Page 123; 138; Page 255; Page 363; Page 450/451; Page 463/464; Pages 485-488; Page 508; Page 630; and Pages 943/ 944.”

See: https://commoncorediva.wordpress.com/2016/02/05/weekend-news-the-ies-and-the-essa/
This is an illustration which will NOT honor school choice! It will not respect different learners at all! It will punish teachers and leaders! It will cause your community to align for a common good, not personal freedom!
ESSA will use anything, everything, and everyone for a workforce based education, NOT true academics. This is not a fear mongering joke, this is real, this is how America is being transformed right before our eyes. What can we do? Use the information to educate others. We CAN be the wrench thrown in the gears of the CCSS Machine!!
What do I mean by CTE? It’s short for Career Tech Education. Or, in anti Common Core language, it’s ‘adult common core’. Since I began my blog, each Thursday has given you solid evidence of how far and wide the CCSS Machine has gone to pump up the alignment to support the ‘cradle to career’ rhetoric. Today’s post looks at a few ways the CTE is being sold to our students to make it look attractive. Nothing says 21st Century Skilled Workforce like a CTE aligned student.
The YouTube CTE Channel:
If you visit the popular channel much, you’ll know how it works. Go to http://www.youtube.com, type in the search bar what you’re looking for, and boom. Instant gratification! Right? Well, many marketing campaigns are on YouTube as well…especially in promoting CCSS, CTE, or whatever other alphabet soup name the agenda is going by these days. When I typed in “Career Tech Education”, one of the first results which appeared was from the ACTE (Association for Career and Technical Education)
Dr. Matula’s Pitch to Leaders:
From the “Build Your Future”, Dr. Anne Matula speaks to those in charge of education about how exciting a ‘national resume’ will be. Notice this is for not only adults, but will reach back to ‘junior high’ (aka: middle school)Note how she’ll share that these trained workers will earn more than those people who have completed their masters degrees!
If you’d like to see a pfd of a presentation supporting Dr. Matula’s presidency of the CTC of the Coastal Bend (Craft Training Center of the Coastal Bend). I’ve provided it for you. Be sure to note on page 7 that EVERY completed ‘module’ for this program is tracked NATIONALLY. In other words, data mining in action. See: 3.1 Dr Ann Matula (*Note: in 2014 Goodwill Industries named Dr. Matula as Chief Education Officer. See: http://www.goodwillsa.org/the-good-news/247-goodwill-announces-dr-anne-matula-as-new-chief-education-officer) In a testimony before the Texas Senate, Dr. Matula had quite a bit to add about CTE. Notice which publisher is providing the course textbooks. Hint: Pearson. See: 0410-AnneMatula-1
Next Up? Parent Touts the CTE!
In this next video, also provided by Build Your Future, is a parent named Mary McQueen. McQueen is also the Executive Director of Development at DelMar College. DelMar College belongs to a “BoldFuture” Community Initiative. What’s so ‘bad’ about that? When looking beneath the sales pitch (again, that ‘collective’ mindset of ‘we’re all together in this’) Take a look at the education component of the 6 part project. The goal appears to be pumping up the TX Work Force! That document: 06profile_educ (to see any updates in the project, click on the update tab, under the “Final Phase”. http://www.boldfuturecoastalbend.org/publications.html
This 12 minute video expresses the ‘life changing’ aspects of CTE as its sales pitch. Not quite sure how effective the message is when you hear one of the speakers state something along the lines of ‘you get to apply what you should of learned in school’. Note the amount of promise each speaker mentions, the self discovery. Note how a particular person with special needs is featured.
The Student’s PSA videos:
The ACTE has a contest encouraging students to submit short videos promoting CTE. Here’s one of the winners from 2013, not his use of fun, vibrancy. From a young person’s viewpoint I can totally understand how I might want to log on and learn more.
There are at least 6 pages of articles, so if you are gearing up to fight CCSS in the post-secondary realm, you’ve got plenty of fact based evidence!
Please note that I’m not against careers, post secondary education, or allowing a student to be able to discover where they fit in society. I DO, however, think it shouldn’t be through the CCSS aligned programs. The thinly veiled ‘workforce’, ‘talent supply’, ‘human capital’ goals we’ve heard all too many times when it comes to careers nowadays. We should be more focused on each student attaining the BEST education for them. Not every student can or will ever fit a mold, look at those of us now out of school. We didn’t fit molds, so why are so many willing to help promote all the ways in which our students ARE being placed into career molds? Remember, where CCSS is concerned, NOTHING is as it appears on the surface. There is much more underneath.
Happening just days from is the “National Opportunity Summit” in Washington, D.C. How this connects to Common Core is about to be revealed. Join me as we learn all we can. Clothed as ‘opportunity’, it smacks of ‘ultimatum’.
As part the Nation, there are several known pro-CCSS schools, organizations. You’ll need to see the entire list for yourselves, however, here’s a screen shot you can click on to enlarge.
What nation would be complete without a way to compare each state to others? You’ll note when you enlarge this picture that the Index uses the unemployment rate. If you’re not aware, the unemployment rate has been misused to support Common Core.
Opp Nation has a solution to all this disconnection/unemployment it says we are experiencing. What are some of the pieces to the solution? Career Tech Education! (Adult Common Core) Workforce legislation (aligns labor/education), education savings accounts (which have been reported to be another way to ensnare families in CCSS). You really NEED to see the entire solution plan. http://opportunitynation.org/our-solution/the-shared-plan/
You’ll really want to access the Nation’s videos. All the rhetoric you’d expect from the CCSS Machine’s drive to disguise ultimatums with opportunities. See: https://www.youtube.com/user/OpportunityNation
“Be the Change”, Inc.:
Website: http://www.bethechangeinc.org/ This nonprofit is devoted to the memory and mission of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Currently, they also have other initiatives going on besides OppNation. Be/Change is also devoted to Workforce as opportunity. To see who serves on the Board, visit: http://www.bethechangeinc.org/pages/who-we-are
To see the Gates Foundation’s contribution to Be the Change:
Listen and Watch the Be the Change’s founder from 2008.
More About Mr. Khazei:
The internet search I used called Mr. Khazei a ‘social entrepreneur’. “Echoing Green” named him a Fellow back in 1991. (See: http://www.echoinggreen.org/fellows/alan-khazei ) His social justice campaign got a shout out a few years ago, see:
Aspen, Gates Foundation, and CCSS: The Washington Post has a great article connecting all three of these. See: http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/answer-sheet/wp/2013/05/12/gates-gives-150-million-in-grants-for-common-core-standards/
Well, the original musing I posed was all this opportunity or ultimatum. It is my researched opinion that opportunity is a farce in the realm of Common Core. Ultimatums are a distinct possibility when you factor in all the amount of controlling strings the CCSS Machine has for us.
